This is one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. Obviously Chichen Itza was the main draw for me, but Ek Balam was just as amazing and would be worth the trip by itself. Our guide Carmen was such a pleasure all around. She was witty and kind and so well informed about the sites, Mayan Culture and Mexico in general. I couldn’t have asked for more. Our driver Rodrigo was kind, attentive, funny and a very safe driver. 10 out of 10 all the way around. Thank you Carmen and Rodrigo for making this such a memorable trip.

What a spectacular tour! It was absolutely worth the money and exceeded my expectations. Carmen was a fountain of knowledge, so fun, and engagement. I absolutely ADORE, Carmen! The driver, Rodrigo, made sure we were picked up on time and handled everything with care. Very happy! 10/10
A fantastic experience in Mayan history and culture! It is a long day, but absolutely worth it. We went with a small group of 6, which was ideal, it enabled a lot of personal interaction with the very knowledgeable and hilarious tour guide (Carmen! Lovely lady) Chichen itza is incredible and Ek Balam is a hidden gem away from the crowds deep in the jungle, making it feel mysterious and personal. The cenote and lunch at the small village was also amazing - people & staff were very friendly the whole trip This was a very hot and long trip so make sure you prepare well, but once you do it'll be awesome.
The Small group Chichen Itza, Cenote, and Ek Balam tour was an amazing experience. One that we will remember forever. Carmen our guide was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain all of our questions. We felt safe and in hands of professionals. Our daughters learned so much about their ancestry, they have alot to teach their peers when they get back home. We hands down book with them again and tell our family and friends about our great experience.
Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable and brought the ancient surroundings to life. I would definitely recommend this company. Our driver Rodrigo was very experienced even a flat tyre did not faze him. Make sure to bring enough cash to buy some souvenirs
We had a wonderful tour. Miguel was an excellent guide. The cenote was so refreshing and it was very interesting to hear about the history of chichen itza and ek balam
We choose this excusion because it includes Ekbalam and we relly liked it. The organización was excelent. The guide gave us great explanations of wat we saw, and bots he and the drivers made sure we always had water and statey cool.
So happy we booked this last minute trip! Eder was a great guide, he was very knowledgable and helpful. The small tour was just what we were hoping for - only our family of 4 and one other couple. The cenote was magical and the Mayan ruins were incredible!
My husband and I had a great day with Alex and Rodrigo and the other 8 in our group! Everything went smoothly, we learned a bunch about the Mayan culture and history. Alex has a great demeanor and a lot of knowledge. It’s definitely a long day but a great way to add on a couple more experiences along with Chichen Itza after investing the time to drive out that far. The lunch buffet at Ek Balam was actually quite good! We were comfortable traveling in the van and Rodrigo was a great driver. Thank you!
We had the best day!!! Miguel, the Mayan guide, is a brilliant and kind guide. Rodrigo was a great driver and host. This was an amazing way to experience the ruins and cenote. The cute little town was great to experience too. We always felt safe, had tons of fun, and learned a lot. The day was well organized. They kept the AC and cold water flowing. My 18 year old loved it all too! I’d give more stars if I could!
From a pick up to the evening drop off everything was great. Miguel is a highly professional guide ready to answer all peculiar question.
This experience was unforgettable. We were provided with clear instructions on purchasing tickets ahead of time and everything we needed for the trip(s). We were given enough time and information to enjoy each spot on the trip. We are definitely wanting to come back to each spot after visiting and getting to know the area more. Of course we wanted to do more and more at each spot and there seemed to be "not enough" time in a good way where we just wanted to spend more time exploring at each spot. It was an excellent introduction and education on Mayan history, culture, and personal experiences from the tour guide. I went with my husband, and two adult sisters. On our group was 6 other people which made the experience richer. Plenty of water was provided. The food was amazing!!! I can't wait to continue to explore what Mexico has to offer. Much appreciation to our tour guide names Miguel. It was a very engaging and thorough guided tour!!!
We had a wonderful time. From the start, they had great communication with exactly what to expect, what to bring. Our guide miguel was very knowledgeable and personable. Lunch was great with something for everyone. The unique itinerary with both chichen itza and ekbalam was a plus. The whole day was planned and executed perfectly by the team. Highly recommend!
Miguel was an amazing guide! He mad the whole day go smooth and had interesting insights! Rodrigo drove us fast and efficiently. The trip was well worth the cost. Highly recommend!
Had a great trip with wonderful tour guides.
This tour was amazing! It was slightly modified to be at Cobá since Chichen Itza was closed that day. The cenote was beautiful and Miguel was an extremely knowledgeable guide. I loved the history and how friendly it all was.
Miguel and Rodrigo were an excellent guide and driver (respectively). Miguel has been guiding for 20 years and it shows. He is a wealth of knowledge and you can tell he is passionate about Maya history and culture. He was also very personable. We had a great time and I would 10/10 recommend this tour!
This was an excellent tour. Although due to disputes at Chichen Itza we were not able to go to the site, the alternate tour was excellent. Miguel was an excellent guide. He was always happy to answer any questions. I never felt as though I did not get enough information and did not feel rushed. Miguel is full of local knowledge which he applied during the tour. Everything was just right. Rodrigo was an excellent driver. I had no whiplash from stopping or going to quickly and turns were taken without being thrown around. Bumps and holes were handled with care. I felt safe in the minibus at all times. Thank you for an enjoyable well paced day.
We had the unfortunate experience of having Chichén Itzá close on the day of our trip, but Miguel was very communicative and they quickly made plans to visit Coba instead. It did not disappoint and riding the bikes there is a must! The cenote swim was super cool and refreshing! Ek Balam was amazing to see. We had a great time, learned a lot, and Miguel answered all of our questions. Our driver, Rodrigo, had plenty of cold water for us all day. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience I would do again. My only complaint is that I wish we had more time to see each site! Gracias!
The only way to see the pyramids. This is my 3rd visit and 2nd with this tour. Worth every penny. Avoid a bus tour at all costs. New restrictions at chicken Itzá restrict buses to park close so you will walk twice as far.
Amazing tour guide Alex and driver Raul. Alex was so much fun and super knowledgeable! We had a day of fun, laughter and learning about Mayan culture. I swam in a Cynote, climbed up 2 pyramids, had an amazing lunch and made new friends! Highly recommend!
It is a great way to explore and see 2 of the most important Mayan ruins. Since it was an early access tour which start from Cancun at 6 AM we were at Chichen Itza site pretty early and before the biggest crowds. Cenote Hibiku was literally amazing and great refresment after the sun. For me the biggest plus is the fact that Cenote itself has great scenery and there is no need for life jackets. We were lucky and the place was not crowded at all which was also a big plus. Buffet lunch afterwards was well stacked and with a good taste. Finall EK Balam is a "hidden" treasure of the area and climbing the pyramid there is just spectacular. Highly recommended tour! If I would have something to mention as a way of improving, I would say that the van we went hay 10 seting places but it is more approprite for 5-6 people simce there is no luggage area for the stuff. This was not an issue for us at all since there were only 4 of us, but I can see that problem potentially.
We had Carmen as our guide and Rodrigo as our driver and they were both great! Carmen was super knowledgeable and engaging at the sites and while we were on our way. It’s a long day, but very worth it! The sites are beautiful and you get a good amount of time at each one. An important note is that you need to have the site taxes in cash, so make sure you get some pesos ahead of time (it was 1500 each when we went)
It was a unique experience. Trip guide was knowledgeable and the driver was excellent. The ruins and cenote were an incredible sight. When our group needed breaks we were able to take them. The tour van was newer and spacious, we'll equipped with AC. I definitely recommend this tour.
What a great day! From Chichen Itzá, the Cenote, y Ek Balam. The history here is amazing, and the people here are wonderful sharing stories of the past and present. Our Tour started with us being picked up at our Resort, very convenient. We picked up a few more couples and we were on our way. Carmen was unforgettable! She had a mishap at a stop in the morning on the way to Chichen Itza, we dropped her off for medical attention, and continued on our way (we all felt terrible about it). The tour organizer made arrangements for another guide at Chichen Itzq, which he did great! The second stop was the Cenote and lunch. Carmen, to our surprise, rejoined us there. Last stop was Ek Balam, with Carmen guiding us around. I’ve read other reviews, and Carmen makes everyone’s tour unforgettable. Wealth of knowledge and good sense of humor, as well as a trooper! Turns out she broke her wrist, and still wanted to finish her day. Talk about dedication!! If you want real people giving real tours, and dedication, I highly recommend this tour!!
Awesome trip for family, kids, friends and couples. It was hot and sunny although totally worth it; I recommend to buy some electrolyte drinks at the first stop for breakfast. Carmen was a fantastic guide, giving many details about the Mayan history and customs. Also, I must mention Saulo, who was guiding us through Chichén Itzá, very friendly and professional, giving many details about astronomical and acoustics knowledge within the Mayan culture. Our driver Rodrigo was a great company too, very friendly and attentive. The cenote in between Chichén and Ek Balam was just fantastic for a dive break and we had it almost entirely for ourselves! really cold and crystal clear water but very enjoyable. I must highlight the food, it was really delicious! For me personally, although the whole trip is really great, I liked Ek Balam the most; you can climb the structures and there’s a much more intimate feeling at that site, not to mention the beautiful surroundings and many other interesting things, such as big trees and many types of birds (no crowds at all). We were back to Cancún about 7 pm which means you should be prepared to spend the whole day (I would've stayed longer) walking, swimming and climbing. Although it’s a pretty active trip people with reduced mobility or elderly people will enjoy just as much! Please remember to take the admission fee in Mexican pesos with you.
This was a great experience! Our guides were helpful and very informative. This itinerary featured a great mix of man-made wonder and natural beauty. Ahead of the trip they explained everything we would need. Even though I elected to meet at the meeting point, they reached out to arrange pick up at our resort. They provided lots of water and told us what to expect every step of the way. Knowing what to expect helped me to relax and enjoy the experience.
The program is perfect (Ek Balam is magical) and Carmen (our guide) and Rodrigo (our driver) were like family. This was a perfect 10/10.
More than expected. Worth every peso! Tour guide Carmen was very knowledgeable and informative in both architectural and historic terms. Good tour for serious archeology enthusiasts. Though trinket vendors are plentiful at each historical sites, no extra stops were dedicated to tourist-trap trinket stores. A special surprise was the side trip to the Sahota. and the recently royal tomb and pyramid at El’ Balem.
Miguel (our guide) and Rodriguez (transportation) were extraordinary. Miguel conveyed such a love for the history and archeology of the ancient civilizations. He truly made the whole day such an enjoyable experience. Rodriguez was kind and made sure we were well hydrated, cool, and safely arriving to our destinations. Both men were a great team. Highly recommend this tour. We got to Chichen Itza early before the crowds and spent just the right amount of time in each place. The food at the cenote we visited was great. Ek’Balam was my favorite and such a highlight.
Miguel was great! We visited Chichen Itza, a cenote, and Ek Balam. The local knowledge, cultural history, and conversation throughout the day was a highlight of our trip. Would recommend Miguel to anyone visiting the area, well worth it!
Miguel was great! Super informative. 10/10 would recommend.
Such a wonderful experience! Carmen was an excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge. Upbeat, organized, prompt, and full of energy, she explained the historic significance of everything we saw. Loved spending the day with her and Edgar, our driver, who was always ready to help and did it with a smile. Excellent driving throughout our full day. Thank you!
A great tour with Carmen and Edgar. The perfect itinerary and timing. Don’t miss also going to Ek Balam. If considering it, don’t hesitate and just do it—would definitely recommend.
Rodrigo was an awesome and courteous driver. Carmen was an excellent tour guide. She shared both her passion and knowledge of the Mayan culture with us. I would definitely recommend choosing a small group tour like this. It was a personalized experience and our small group was able to spend time and see everything that we wanted.
Eder and Ed were very professional and gave us a very informative tour. They make sure you’re on time and get all the good facts before letting you go explore on your own. Would highly recommend them
This was a great tour all around- only 9 people and Carmen, our tour guide, made us all feel comfortable in hanging out together. Timing was great- we got to Chichén itzá just before 9 and it was pleasantly empty when we arrived. Carmen did a good job of keeping us shaded when possible, explaining the history and showing us where to take great photos. The cenote was refreshing after the morning heat. The last stop at Ek Balam was fun and more interactive as you can climb on most of the structures. It’s a long and hot day, but Edgar, the driver, kept the van cool and stocked with cold water along the way. I appreciated the small group size and not a lot of time spent on waiting or touristy shopping etc. It was very well organized and we had plenty of time at each stop.
I highly recommend this tour!! Carmen was amazing and so friendly. She made this experience unforgettable. We got picked up right on time around 6:20 then headed to the first stop (chichen itza) and were there for 3 hours. Carmen did a very good job explaining the history while being interactive and making it fun. We then went to the cenote for 1 1/2 hours and ate food. Last stop was Ekbalam and we were there for 2 hours. I didn’t feel rushed at all and had so much fun!!
Our guide Carmen was great! Gave us a lot of information about Mayan civilization and history. Our driver Edgar was also great!
Tour of Maya's math constructions
Carmen and Edgar were amazing. The tour had a good cadence and a ton of information. Our family had a wonderful time.
We went with Eder and Rodrigo who gave us an excellent trip to Chizen Itza an Ek'baaam. Great guiding and explanations around the pyraminds and archeology areas. The cenote was beutiful and the lunch was great as well. Would highly recommend this tour
Had a great time with Eder and Rodrigo! Very friendly, lovely stops+lunch, great timing on the itinerary and the guide was very knowledgeable!
Eder and Rodrigo did an excellent job! The tour was timely, no gimmicks, great explanations. Crowds were minimal with the timing! The Cenote was the highlight.
We had Carmen as our guide and Rodrigo as our driver. Carmen was such a good guide! Wonderful English, great sense of humour and so knowledgeable of all the places we had gone. She took very good care of us and answered any and all questions we had. She even went out of her way to make sure we received the photos we took as a group throughout the group. Would definitely go with them again.
Excellent tour. Carmen our guide had great knowledge of all attractions and history. Food at cenote was delicious. Redregez our driver provided cold water throughout the day. The small group is great as it kept the pace of the day manageable and also made the interaction between guide, group and attraction better.
Great experience with Maria Carmen & Roberto!
Was such a great experience, Carmen and Rodrigo were a blast, very sweet and funny!! Would recommend them :)
I had such a great experience on this tour and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area, especially if you want to make the most of your time without feeling rushed. Originally, the date I booked didn’t meet the minimum number of people required, but the team reached out to me via WhatsApp right away with several rebooking options. They were incredibly organized and provided detailed information, including a map for the pickup point, which I really appreciated. Since I was staying in Tulum, my pickup was at Super Aki, which was very straightforward. From there, we headed straight to Chichen Itza, with a quick stop along the way for coffee and a washroom break. The early pickup time and time zone change works in your favor because you arrive ahead of the crowds and heat, which makes a huge difference. At Chichen Itza, Edder, who is a certified guide, handled everything seamlessly. You simply walk in while he manages the tickets, which makes the process effortless. His tour was informative and engaging, and he also gave us about 50 minutes of free time afterward, which I loved. It’s the perfect balance between guided experience and independent exploration. Next was Hubiku Cenote, which is part of a small, family-run park. Lunch was included (aside from drinks and tips), and the food was traditional Mexican and really good. The cenote itself was beautiful and refreshingly cold, which felt amazing after the heat of Chichen Itza. We had about an hour and a half here, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The final stop was Ek Balam, which ended up being one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s smaller and less crowded, and you’re able to climb the pyramids, which makes it feel much more immersive. Again, Edder handled all the logistics, and we had time to explore at our own pace. What really stood out to me about this tour is how much is included without it ever feeling rushed. Visiting two archaeological sites and a cenote in one day is a lot, but the pacing was excellent. If you’re someone who loves history, adventure, and seeing as much as possible in a day, this is absolutely worth it. Both Edder (our guide) and Edgar (our driver) were wonderful. Warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. It’s experiences with people like them that keep me coming back to Mexico. I would absolutely seek out Edder again on a future trip. So happy I chose this tour.
