The activity provider looked at our tickets and sent us to another activity producer even though we were in the correct place. When the wrong activity provider realized we were at the wrong place and sent us back, our boat had left. Never made it to our catamaran cruise. Said they would offer us a refund but neither viator nor activity provider gave us a refund. Terrible experience.
During our stay at Mirage Majestic Costa Mujeres we booked an excursion to Isla Mujeres to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. We met our Air Canada Vacations representative Pedro Ortiz in the tour office of the hotel. Mr Ortiz advised that the excursion we were interested in was in a Luxury Catamaran and included 45 minutes of snorkeling over a beautiful reef and followed by a “ Beautiful Lunch Buffet “ provided by the Mia Hotel Isla Mujeres. We were also told that after the lunch we could use the facilties of the hotel including the umbrellas and chairs . We boarded our Catamaran named Longerin on the morning of June 26th . After about 20minutes on the boat , our captain Pedro advised that we have now arrived at the reef to do our snorkeling. To our surprise there was hardly any reef or fish to see while we where snorkeling. We actually spent most of the time swimming around in the water following our Captain Pedtro who was ponting us to specific sites. Once we arrived on the island , Pedro instructed us to follow him to our buffet . To our disappointment, the buffet was Inside a shack without any air conditioning and the food that was being served was disgusting . My wife and I were afraid of getting food poisoned so we could not eat anything at all . By this time , Pedro had already departed the island and were on our own for the next 4 hours until we were to be picked up . Instead of being able to use the facilities of the Mia Hotel including their beach chairs and umbrellas , we were told that we have to rent beach chairs and umbrella for $30 for 2 hours . My wife and I ended up spending the hours before our pick up , looking for any places of shade and taking our turns in going to water to cool off while one of us looked after our belongings.
I need more than 25 words to describe how this cruise almost ruined my entire trip. 59 people on one boat? Barely enough food to feed everyone, and the food selection was terrible, one guy was making tacos with his bare hands. Extremely cramped. I wasn't able to snorkel due to not enough gear on the boat, I had to fight just for seating for myself and my wife. I wouldn't take this cruise again if you paid me. The crew on the boat were amazing, they were doing their best to make sure we had enough to drink. I felt bad because they were so busy.
Snorkeling was not done, but I was charged for it. Bumpy ride on boat with no seats, people with back pain should avoid!
Our group of 10 had an excellent experience on Manuel IV with Captain JC and Leo. One of our group had motion sickness from the van ride to the sea port and was recovering while on the catamaran. The crew was truly accommodating and ensured she was well looked after until she came around to enjoy the rest of the trip. Excellent communication and even though some of the crew did not speak great English, everyone communicated the best that they could and ensured everyone on the trip had a good visit to Isla Majures. Thanks again!
This activity was really fun. The drink were flowing (our cups were never empty), the buffet met all the dietary needs of our group (including vegetarian members), the scenery was beautiful, and the staff were very nice and accommodating. We would recommend this trip. Here are the things that made us put 4 stars instead of 5: - the group felt big for the boat, we had to sit in a spot right in front of the speaker which was overwhelming and it was hard to hear the staff. - the snorkeling was a little short and didn’t offer a lot of freedom for exploration. It was also pretty crowded with other snorkelers. - there is very little shade on this boat for much of the day, participants should prepare accordingly.
This was a wonderful experience. The guys were all great and very helpful and courteous to us who are not very mobile and older. Very patient with us making sure we didn’t stumble and very helpful getting back into the boat after snorkeling. A very relaxing day! A great way to spend my 65th BDay! Thank you!! The crew was nice; but the boat was very small, old, and extremely slow. The condition was so poor, that safety was always on our mind. We were jealous of all the other boats. As far as all inclusive, they give you a small cup and you share out of a 40. Snorkeling was extremely unorganized, no flippers, and crappy life jackets. The water was choppy and my husband had to help someone from sinking/almost drowning. This was a complete waste of money and we ended up staying on the island and taking the ferry back, which was surprisingly fun and a much better experience.
Crazy awesome adventure provided by Trafic Tours out of the Ocean Riveria Paradise. Included catamaran with open bar, snorkeling on a reef between Isla Majures and Cancun. Dropped off on the island were we spent our time on one of the best beaches ever, swimming in the Carribean sea! On the way back the catamaran stopped for more swimming! Excellent trip highly recommended
I gotta say, the crew was great and they ran a fun and on-time excursion. The boat was as advertised, lunch was good, and no shortage of drinks during the voyages. Snorkeling was better than I had expected.
Great experience from start to finish. When you first get n you aren’t sure due to the large amount of people crammed up on it. But the boys kept the drinks flowing and it was good vibes the whole trip. Despite being previous reviews.. lunch was delicious with many options (fish, chicken, pizza, black beans, rice, fruit, and drink at destination). Even my picky husband enjoy it. It was Better than the food at our all inclusive!! Will do it again for sure.
Great staff and snorkel location the last two stops felt a bit like an organized shopping trip in Mujeres and a small beach with little to do as the last stop service on board and Alvin and crew made up for stops
they cut the time short, snorkelling was cancelled due to bad weather but they not let us stay at isla mujeres to compensate the cancelation of snorkeling..only 1 hr to isla mujeres..lunch buffet was terrible at the beach club, u cnt even swim, the water was so dirty, nothing to do at the beach club..it's so polluted..not satisfied.....
Rushed at isla mujieres stayed less than 2 hrs. 2nd island for lunch buffet was horrible and nothing to do after.avoid this company
Crowd size was decent on our boat. Length of visit was perfect. Atmosphere was friendly, food served was good and as much as you could eat. Staff were very friendly and helpful, overall, a good experience. However, I am extremely disappointed with the snorkeling experience. The guide started out by telling us how dangerous snorkeling is for first timers. Said we would be dropped off and no option to get back on the boat, we had to swim 300 yards through current to be picked up. Several of us decided we shouldn't go. One person in our group went and said it was easy and amazing. Looked out at other boats dropping snorkelers in the area, kids were doing this. By then it was too late for us to go, I'm so disappointed we were led to believe this was going to be so hard.
We joined the catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres and it was absolutely fantastic. Everything was very well organized from start to finish. The staff, led by Javier, were super friendly, fun, and always made sure everyone was having a great time. With party music, open bar and a delicious buffet, the latin atmosphere on board was relaxed and full of energy. The snorkeling was unforgettable, crystal clear water, lots of colorful fish and a stunning view of the reef. The sea was simply breathtaking.
Awesome experience, fantastic service and great food. I would recommend this trip to all going to Cancun.
Great excursion! You grt to snorkel, have beach time and shop in the area. The catamaran ride was beautiful and unlimited drinks. The restaurant in town where we stopped was not good though.
The experience was wonderful. The crew was extraordinary. I got lost at the beach and both the online reps and the tour guide went above and beyond to get me to the meet up spot. On the boat, the drinks kept coming (careful!) and the music was a vibe. Shoutout to the captain who steered with his feet! This snorkel experience in clear blue water was the highlight. I waved at fish like they were going to wave back lol. Thanks for the great experience! I'll be back with my family.
Total 💩 💩💩 show Overcrowded bus to the boat Very slow and disorganised check in at the docks Guide on board arrogant and rude little man with little man syndrome Missed a very short slot to go for a snorkel swim Little man snatches our life jackets and snorkels from us Feedback from other swimmers saying overcrowding in water and unsupervised Hidden extra was a choice of golf carts on the island or nothing to do for three hours Food and drink on the island were total filth and an insult to Mexican culture Boat ride to south of island was late and boarding was chaotic and disorganised again Home bound journey was made to look like everyone was having a good time by trying to get everyone drunk and then trying to force everyone make tips We told little man why we would not be tipping Awaiting refund
The crew was professional and assured our safety all while engaging and keeping the drinks rolling. The guide was very patient when assisting me with snorkeling being that it was my first time.
Had so much fun and the service was excellent!! The crew made sure we had everything we needed and made sure we had so much fun!
Paid extra for “Luxury” small group. Boat was old and dilapidated-few places to sit-no cover for shade/rain. We froze and were drenched both ways. Crew was great. But the Lunch spot was also run down and near a dilapidated water park, lounge chairs (6) had holes, lunch was basic. Snorkeling was crowded with many boats at same spot. No paddle boards, no Lilly Pad (both shown in photos. THIS boat was not pictured in any reviews. Feel scammed. The Crew was very nice. We have no clue where the pics went. No info given.
We booked this tour because of the rating but what you real experience is disappointing. We went with our teen kids and the atmosphere was more like an adult only experience with drunk people and couples nearly taking off their clothes. We don't recommend this tour for families!
Charged $30 for transport but was only picked up from a block away of the destination. Open bar was not many options, have never seen the open bar so scarce. The music played was only Mexican which is okay for a bit but never gave variety. The restaurant we stopped at was gross, food had a bunch of flies on it. Bathroom was disgusting and small, could barely squat over the toilet without hitting my head on the door. The snorkeling and the last stop at the beach for 45 mins was the only okay thing out of the entire excursion.
Great trip the service was alright but the boat was too small for the number of passengers. Overall I would recommend spending more to get an adequate experience.
The crew was awesome. The boat was just perfect for the size of our group. The only feedback I would share was there wasn’t enough shopping time downtown. I would do this excursion again 100%! Highly recommend.
They don't give u a snorkel and the Catamaran is not even close to the one in the picture, the rest area in the buffet is old the guys are nice but not as advertised
This was so much fun! I enjoyed it, the water was a little too rough to snorkel. We were able to visit another island where we got souvenirs. The food was decent too!
Our catamaran/snorkeling cruise to The Isla of Mujeres was absolutely amazing. From the Captain to the Crew. We have never seen such blue water. So many different fish, sea turtles and a couple dolphins.
While Joel was amazing, I would NOT recommend this experience. The boat was tiny, dirty, and the restroom was extremely makeshift. The place we went for lunch was horrible, and the whole time the drinks tasted like juice. The staff was great but besides that I would say avoid.
We had an amazing time. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time.
Couldn’t recommend highly enough, very well organised snorkelling was great, food lovely and all staff excellent. Drinks were flowing.
Great excursion! Beautiful views! Fun crew! Photographer on board to take lots of family pics. A little too much pressure to buy them all. But overall good experience
I wouldn’t recommend this experience, the snorkelling was poor, I got lost in another group and then chastised by the guide for not keeping with our group when everyone is snorkelling in the same patch of water with 5 other groups , he then took us to jewellery/gift shop for a wristband and heavy sales pitch whereby they changed how they sold their items from dollars to pesos and completely got us confused, being taken to jewellery stores after dropping off anywhere even by taxi, I can only assume they are on commission. The beach is small and you can only go in the water up to 20m in, it’s crowded and they charge 350 pesos for a lounger for 1 hour! Then you are accosted by beach sellers the whole time.
Save your money and time! The Catamaran as a boat is nice but the crew is hopeless! They serve you washed up drinks throughout, no fizz, very watery. Icing on the cake, they stop at the most cheap, filthy mexican restaurant you can find at Playa norte! Btw, whole hype of Playa Norte was pointless since all we could see was the bad restro, no one got to see the beach or hang out at the so called playa norte beach since they stopped at this secluded restaurant with whom they may have some internal setting/arrangement. Overall, it was exhausting since service was poor and the guide and entire crew seemed just focused on getting Tips or money through photographs. Never again!
We had a great time, however, the snorkeling was not good. There was very little to see plus they dropped us off in an area where there were probably about 10 boats of other snorkelers and there was a strong current and a lot of waves. It was not an ideal snorkeling situation. The drinks were flowing for sure! The buffet was not the best….hot dogs, undercooked chicken, rice, beans, salad, fruit and a few other items. At they place that we stopped at for lunch, we were given an hour and a half, but after eating, there was not much to do. Again, we made the best of it and had a wonderful time but there is definitely room for improvement with this tour.
We had a great time. The staff was excellent. The boat was nice, drinks were good, atmosphere was fantastic.
I really want to give 5 starts but sorry I cant The catamaran - smooth, the tour guide at begainning was very fun, then he took a lot foto of us, at end of trip without asking if we want those foto and printed them out, sell those foto to us, as 3 fotos 25 USD dollor!!!!!! WTF, why not ask us first ? straight brought the printed foto and sellng to us!!!! raelly, I HATE THIS! I would have given some tips at the end of trip, but no I cannot, I need to respect myself!!!! because selling foto without asking us, and I have to buy those printed foto, sorry, the fee that buying expensive foto are unappriatable
The trip was beautiful. It was fun and the snorkeling was cool. The transportation was a little confusing but it ended up working out. At the end of the excursion the workers were hassling for pictures and hassling for tips. I mean really pushing. We didn’t enjoy the pictures and weren’t interested. They made the entire group uncomfortable because they were not happy with the tip, even though it wasn’t my group that didn’t tip well. The captain took his hat and was asking other members “that’s it?”, “thats my service was to you?” It just made everything unpleasant and uncomfortable. He ended up not helping us all off the boat after.
Soo much fun!!! Highly recommend! If you’re looking for a fun day activity with drinks and time on the ocean do this tour! You will not regret it. The staff is so great and humorous, they remind you that you’re on vacation and make you feel comfortable to let loose. If you don’t want to snorkel it’s okay, I did a small photo shoot on the boat and I love my pictures. Definitely plan to come back!
Booked through Amstar and they were really helpful with advise on which one to book and it was a Good trip and they had really friendly and helpful tour guides, made the most of it 😎
Great sail trip, lots of fun! we enjoy the boat the ocean, sun, lots of good drinks, people are very nice and professional. great memories in family.
The crew on the boat were amazing!!! Very energetic and kind. We would absolutely recommend it and/or do it again.
El Toucan was a great boat with great guides and staff. They kept the trip lively and fun Only suggestion would be to do a small snorkel guide for newcomers and improve the lifejackets.
The crew were wonderful . Sergio was our guide who was friendly, informative and very helpful in some choppy waters during the snorkle (very few fish to see). Be prepared for a swim though to the snorkel spot. Boat was clean and comfortable for the number of people on board (not at capacity). The.scenery was beautiful. Isla Mejures itself is a tourist zone with lots of shops and people on crowded beach in town. Spent only a little over 1 hour at the "private beach" that they took us to (less time in town would have been better). The buffet luncheon was pretty unimpressive except for the grilled chicken. If you are staying in the Hotel Zone take the Public Bus (NOT the Red Sea Bus) for transportation (12 Pesos per person each way) Bus stops right out front of Meeting Point. The crew and Catamaran ride was the best part of the trip (which saved the average rating).
Although staff ware fantastic and really kind the main reason why we booked this trip was for the snorkelling stop. We never got one.. nor did we receive an explanation to why. Trip was good however if you want a relaxing boat ride , this is not it , too many people on a small boat.
Bought the tour from a sales person on the beach. It was a decent tour but the snorkeling was below par. This company did a poor job with that part of the tour. More in a hurry to get in and out. I would recommend going with anstar and pay a few dollars more for a better experience. Becareful once you get to the island and they take you into a store. They are selling you fake tequila that's extremely over priced. Also those first stores will try to rip you off as well. Barter the price to something fair or walk over to the actual little supermarket store where everything is priced as it should be. That $90 of tequila is 30 bucks there. Never pay asking price of the street vendors. The little stone bracelets they want $30 a piece. I paid $5 a piece cause they want to maje the sale but will try to scam you.
The entire experience exceed my expectations. There was adequate time all snorkeling and swimming stops, lunch was prepared well, drinks were great, the staff was fantastic (especially Carlos our fearless leader), and time on the island felt sufficient. I would highly recommend this tour and would definitely rebook if we all go back.
