Great experience! my partner and I opted for the adults only tour on the catamaran, and it was well worth it. We had such a good time! you have the option to rent a golf cart and go on a tour around the island but you do not get to explore the island on the golf cart. Just something to keep in mind. Regardless, I would recommend my friends and family for this tour, and we will definitely do it again

This trip was underwhelming. Other than the staff on board which were amazing and courteous. My family and I got to the meeting point where we waited 1.5 hours until we got onto the boat. There was a big group of us, and we really thought we would not be added to an already full catamaran. We reached the first stop which was snorkelling. Some people mentioned the waves were rough and they barely saw any fish. Then we get to the island where the beach was not blue like the picture advertised, after realizing the picture of the excursion is just the catamaran I then checked all the other related excursions and noticed there’s no pictures of the beach itself. Again, underwhelming because it was not what I was expecting. They have an option for $60 golf buggy to the ruins which is an hour - after realizing it will take you 20 mins to get there, 20 mins to walk around and 20 mins back to the buffet.. The buffet was ok, decent. Then the last stop is where they say you can go shopping or to the beach. The beach is 3 blocks away from the drop off point and there’s only an hour of free time there so it’s essentially you shopping or stopping at a restaurant. Overall, If there was a possiblity to have smaller catamarans that would help a little, or a smoother start to the process once you arrive at the meeting point. Or being upfront on the add of what’s included and what’s not and how the beach actually looks. Trip was mid and I wouldn’t book again.
This was a total scam! I booked this through tripadvisor back in July. They were running a special if I booked by July 4th. I didn’t have to pay until the day before. Actually, payment was going to automatically be taken 24 hrs before but I decided to pay 48 hrs before to insure my payment method. Upon payment I received my ticket. I looked over the ticket to make sure it had the right amount of guests we booked and that the time was correct. I did not bother scrolling beyond that. Next day, I contacted the company to confirm our pick up time. After waiting a whole day for a response they inform me of the pickup time and that transportation will be an extra $15pp due to the distance. I communicated with them back in July where we were going to be staying and if they could transport us from our hotel and the only response I got at that time was “sure”. They new the location and never said anything about the additional cost. Upon hearing the distance of the excursion 2 of the 12 guests opted out of the trip. I confirmed that immediately and went on with my evening as I am already on my vacation and not looking at my phone much. The next morning and day of excursion, I check my phone to find a message that was sent that evening to not forget the additional $45pp for a dock fee and tax. This is on top of the booking fee I already payed . Then the additional amount for transportation. I then asked to cancel and the said they couldn’t because it was day of. They also inform me they cannot refund me because the information was on the ticket. I go back to the ticket and beyond the ticket and after a bit of scroIlingI find the info about the extra fees. I went back on my original booking on trip advisor and it clearly says no additional fees or tax. I sent a screen shot and they said that has nothing to do with them. That it refers to trip advisors fees and tax . Not theirs. I was so upset and over it that I ended up canceling the trip. They did refund me 1/2 of the total after I showed them the screenshot and accused them of false advertising. I think it’s very shady that none of this is communicated. Had I not contacted them about transportation and 2 of the guests cancelling we all would have had a big surprise showing up to the dock and having to pay an extra $60pp on top of what we already payed. Very shady business. Will not be booking through trip advisor again or maybe trip advisor needs to be more careful on who they deal with.
My ears are still ring from the music. I asked for it to be turned down even a little. The guy told me to go to the other side of the boat The drinks, tequila type only, are undrinkable. The buffet average The beach club-don’t bother The snorkeling- no snorkel provided-don’t bother They will tout you to rent a golf cart Take the ferry. Go to north beach , maybe a one half mile walk, and stop at a good restaurant and bar along the way. You will thank me. The 3 of us skipped the ride back and took the ferry instead. Life is too short to have spent another hour on the catamaran. One last hint, NEVER give a credit card to a cab driver. And I mean never.
They over charge for everything. Dock fee was just $15 but they charge $45 per person. Also for golf cart rental, they charge $60 but the charges over there was only $40. Ride and service itself was good.
I had 12 in my group and I would say this is the first time I didn’t have a good time on a catamaran. The transportation to and from the destination was great! But the boat was way overpacked. We spent maybe 45 mins in Isla Mujeres and they took us to a beach club that had dirty daybeds and the water was murky and gross but warm. They ran out of food so fast that I didn’t even get chicken. The drinks on the boat tasted like juice and the only time I felt it was decent was at the very end when they played Follow the Leader. Overall, I wish I just went on the public ferry and saved money. The only thing is some of our family members did the snorkeling and they said they saw so many turtles and fish which was amazing to them.
Cost was high $90 at port and the first charge from this sight Two hours is too long on the south beach with no shops. Food was not very good.
Not very happy . To start it’s a scam you charge one fee on the app then charge $45 dollars at the marina plus the gulf carts another 60 dollars which that’s insane and none of this is disclosed on the app .We paid for transportation and they did not show up nor picked us up so I had to get Ubers .
Booked this trip again for my family as I had already done it as a solo traveller and rated it a 5. I read some other reviews prior to going with my family and it only dropped points because just as one reviewer had put it was true some of the crew deliberately ignore you and focus on certain groups. The whole trip overall was really good with visits to both sides of the isla mujeres. The boat had limited seating for over 30 passengers so sitting on the boat was a little uncomfortable for some passengers. I would do it again and it seems a little hit and miss for excellence but if you are lucky to get perfect service it's a 10/10
TLDR:This is loud booze cruise tipping/upsell chain with 300-600 other folks. If you have a family, you may want to rethink. Pretty for a while though if you’re not squeamish about boozin. I booked this trip last minute since we took too long to decide what hidden fees and stated prices would amount to. The morning of the reservation I received a call from a kid saying my booked and confirmed trip didn’t “go through” and that the new price is 4 times higher. The new price could be paid through “WhatsApp”, No. Absolutely not. If you are booked and ticketed through TripAdvisor then STAY THE COURSE. We showed up and had to pay 20$ for parking. Ready to go, we resisted the hard sell to upgrade to platinum with an uncomfortable walking of the family through a nude resort area(not that nice mental image your likely thinking of, much much worse) We were there for snorkeling. Turns out, there were at least 6 other boats there with the same idea. Our snorkeling effort looked like the Titanic evacuation there were so many people. It was pretty though. Could’ve spent more time but snorkeling was maybe 30mins in the water. Far too crowded. Back on the boat, the focus was jamming music and getting booze. Deck hands worked hard to distribute drinks and tend to the boat. Not “R” rated but not a great family scene. The ride was fantastic though. I’ll never forget the color of the water. Landed at Isla de Mujeres, we walked around and saw some little shops and strolled for an hour. Back on the boat more music more booze. You get the idea. The focus was really the booze cruise. We stopped and had lunch(1000 people) DJ was spinning at max volume. There was a golf cart event that we didn’t do as it cost extra so we hung back and listed to DJ work on his…craft. Off again, great ride. Beautiful water, loud music and more booze. Tip everyone and finally back at the dock.
The pickup guy did not informed me in advance , I was waiting for the hole night and in the morning around 8 am he massaged me and told me that I will be at your hotel around 8 .30 Am . Even in the catamaran the services was not good the washroom was very poor there was no water. Bar was ok and not much choices with the drinks.
From booking the trip to the end of the trip everything was amazing. Jose picked us up in a chilled car, with water and sweets at hand . Then we got to the catameran , and had perfect seats right by the captain. Drinks were flowing from start to finish and all the staff couldn't do enough for anyone. The island is amazing we did the golf buggy tour and saw some amazing views. Would definitely recommend this tour .
Pedro great skipper , despite weather being against us we really had a great day . Boat was old but clean , drinks were good and in plentiful supply. Being a private charter we put our own music on and set our own time table. At about 100 Sterling a head great value Thanks all for a great afternoon out
Liars ! No transparency! No transportation! Don’t get tricked like me!
The check in process was hectic. They were all over the place. The rest of the excursion was great and fun. My 9 year old daughter really enjoyed the snorkeling.
This was such an awesome day! The boat was beautiful. The staff was absolutely incredible. The island was so great. We ended up going back again. Highly recommend the golf cart experience on the island.
this one was such a vibe tbh, like just being out on the boat w the music n drinks was already fun 😭 the snorkeling was quick but cool seeing fish n stuff, and the beach club part was really nice to just chill. isla mujeres was sooo pretty too. overall super easy day, good mix of fun n relaxing
Nice Experience, everything was good during the tour we booked the tour with transportation so they picked us up from our hotel Royalton hideaway Samuel was extremely friendly and Jorge was very funny, The food was great, the alcohol was ok
this tour was sooo fun, like really good vibes the whole day. The catamaran ride was the best part, the music, the drinks, just a very great atmosphere. Samuel and Carolina at check in were super nice and made everything easy from the start. Gustavo the captain was great and Roger from the crew was honestly the best, super funny and kept everyone laughing. Snorkeling was quick but nice, and Isla Mujeres is beautiful. Yeah it’s a long day but everything felt smooth and easy, def worth it if you just wanna have a good time.
100% recommended, the true is that we enjoyed the whole experience since the moment we were picked up to the moment they dropped us off at the hotel, i can say that his tour has the best organization and logistic than others weve tried good option for a day of your vacation
With the tour company. Total rip off. Tripadvisor indicated $60 trip at half price for $29.95. Originally booked three people, but had to cancel one. Confirmed by WhatsApp that one was canceled. When we arrived, the agent at the gate, said we had to pay more for additional fees and taxes, etc. even though Tripadvisor said all taxes included. Came to an additional $118. Plus, no credit for the third person cancellation, even though if that was done two days earlier and confirmed buy the tour company through their WhatsApp chat. Gate agent said she did not work for the tour company, but in contacting the tour company was told of the additional fees, even though she had both pages of the confirmation from Tripadvisor. We paid the additional $118 because we wanted to go on the trip which was great, but still felt totally ripped off. Just a scam. Instead of two x 29.95 $ per person I paid3 x $29.95 plus $118, so my $60 trip cost me $208. Felt totally scanned. Beware.
Had a great time on trip to isle mujeres Quick stop for snorkeling and 2 stops at the island! Crew was great family had a blast
Had a lot of fun, but the scuba diving wasn't what I expected, but the boat was a blast, my children loves it. Next time we will try most stuff.
I booked 4 days ahead and they had to know that 1/1 was New Year’s Day. However, 2 hours before they were to pick us us at our hotel, they notified me the trip cancelled because it was a holiday and they had no one to operate the tour!!! To say I was upset is an understatement!
The driver and crew were very welcoming and kind. The trip was a blast and they were very generous with the alcohol and other beverages. The snorkeling was amazing and the water beautiful. Highly recommend.
The company sent a email out at 04.30 am confirming a change of pick up time. The pick up driver was very rude and argumentative. The Caterman was very overcrowded. Parents were not told that under 18’s and over 60’s were not allowed to participate in the snorkelling at the reef which was dangerous due to the high number of participants and rushed time constraints. The Isle of Mujures was also overcrowded due to the Caterman picking up more people and dumping them on the Island. My son had 80 dollars stolen from his bag whilst on the island. On the way back the coach crashed into some bollards at the entrance to the Astoria Waldorf hotel.Overall I would avoid this tour.
The ride on the catamaran was nice even with the rain we ran into on the way there and back. The crew was great, but he drinks they provided were OK. Did not like that we stopped at two places on the Isa Mujeres. Would have preferred just one stop and more time to enjoy the north beach of the Isla. The second stop where the lunch was provideded was not as fun and the food/drinks were OK. Overall I would not do this trip again.
Came with family, first time, they didn’t explain how to put gear. They rushed us to jump, we were trying to fix snorkel mask for kids, we didn’t end up jumping, when ask if they would stop elsewhere, they said no, that was it. So I would not recommend this booking if it’s your first time or with kids, also heard from the guys that came in that they were being rushed while swimming, so if you don’t fully know how to swim this is not for you.
The snorkeling portion was brief and underwhelming. We were at the beach club an hour too long. Service was really good on the actual catamaran portion. It was nice to see beautiful water since coast is riddled with algae.
The whole experience was good. But still cant belive taxes where almost the double from the price of the tour, the page doesnt specify that and they almost force you to pay them.
I paid too ride, snorkel and have lunch. When it was time to snorkel we were to old!!!!! That’s fine but put that in your description so I can decide if I want to participate or not. Now I paid for an excursion that I couldn’t fully participate in!
SO much fun! They forgot to pick us up though, so we had to take a cab to the dock.... still so much fun!
Grace and the soprano crew ate so amazing. They trip was great for our first time snorkel family. My granddaughter was afraid to get in the water and Grace took her under her wing, calming her fears and she did just great. Would highly recommend!
It was an amazing experience. Picked up at hotel on time, got on board in time. Crew was friendly and kind, making sure we got all we need. Buffet lunch had a lot to choose from. Unlimited drinks on board, highly recommend.
Booked our tour and the tour operator never responded to any of my messages nor did they pick us up. I am requesting a refund immediately
It’s was a no show! I need my refund Never got a response or pickup from the tour. Didn’t get to do it and texted and called no response.
The views were amazing the vibe was amazing pretty cool excursion! Drinks were ok. I mainly drunk the beer buffet was pretty decent also.
Where to begin… We booked this excursion months ago through Viator. As the day approached, we reconfirmed details for pick up at our hotel. The day before the tour, we received a text confirming our pick up at 840am for the 10am tour. On the day of the tour, we were waiting until at scheduled area and continued to wait for 15 minutes past our scheduled pick up time before we started calling the tour company. Two unanswered calls finally yielded a text response. When I inquired as to where our transportation was, I was told that our driver had caused an accident and could no longer pick us up. We were told to find our own way to the marina. After inquiring further regarding details of the marina, we finally had enough information to get in a taxi - this exchange took 40 minutes over text! Once we finally got to the marina in our $30 cab ride, we were herded with other tourists to a hut on the beach where we were forced to wait in line for 30 minutes to sign a waiver. We were then separated (only 1 family member in line allowed), while we waited another 30 minutes to check in. We were checked in (honestly shocked that the reservation was real at this point), then forced to wait to talk to another representative ’who would give us very important information about our tour’. She gave us a very brief overview of the island before trying to upsell us on a luxury VIP option of the tour we had already booked - for only an additional $60 per person! This was a ‘great value’ that would put us on a smaller boat with less people - since our tour consisted of about 90 people! After we declined this, we were told to stand outside and wait for our boat to be called. We waited another 15 minutes on the beach, dodging vendors who were selling hats and mangoes and ‘waterproof’ phone holders. Once we finally boarded the boat with 88 of our new friends, we were told that no one could wear sunscreen if they wanted to snorkel - even reef safe varieties. Once we were underway, the captain began to explain all the rules of the boat and the dangers of snorkeling. He continued to explain for another 25-30 minutes as we made our way to the snorkel spot. Once we arrived at the snorkel spot, where another dozen or so catamarans were stopped to let their guests snorkel, those who chose to could snorkel for about 20 minutes before reboarding the boat. After everyone was back on board, we continued on to a ‘beach club’, where we were herded through the marina, along a street and through a marketplace to our ‘lunch buffet’, which consisted of a basic salad, rice, bean, chicken, and fish offering. We ate our measly meal while waiting for our drinks, which never came after our orders were taken. Frustrated, we took a walk around the surrounding area before heading back to the marina to sit on the boat for the remainder of the time. Once the rest of the group piled back in, we were told that we were going to Playa Norte and that we had an hour to explore before getting back on the boat at 330 and heading back to Cancun. Upon arrival at Playa Norte, we were once again herded through another ‘beach club,’ into the town and into a jewelry store where we were told we needed wristbands that would give us additional discounts and free access to toilets. After this was complete, we had about 45 minutes before we had to be back on the boat. All in all, this was a complete waste of time and money and precious vacation day. Not only did the company scam us out of transportation money, but the overall tour was certainly not as advertised. I would caution anyone to stay far away from this tour! If you want to go to Isla Mujeres, take the ferry from the marina for $15/ person. If you want to snorkel, go aaaanywhere else.
As was mentioned in previous reviews. Salt sand The snorkelling was once again cancelled even though there were other carriers snorkeling. They tried and up sell you a smaller boat with fewer people for 60$ usd that are not thing like advertised. The regular boat has 100 people on it. Eight hours is a joke it’s more like six. Most of that standing around. The buffet was in a dark dingy tent with water down drinks and sub par food. The waiters actually placed a tip jar down on the table while every one was still eating expecting a tip for bringing you a couple water down drinks.! You have to pay for a chair and umbrella at the beach ($20usd) or for access to a resort. By the time you add all the extras in you will be way better off going with a more Expensive all inclusive tour. We decided to cut our losses and take the ferry back to our resort! A money grab from start to finish.
False advertising!! This excursion does not include sparkling. Yes it’s advertised but we came to learn that they cancel snorkelling every day due to “rough seas”. The buffet was awful and the drinks didn’t have booze in them. The beach time didn’t include chairs let along lounger or umbrella. Then they kick you out and tell you to come back in 4 hours for your ride back. The only free thing to do is walk the streets and get hounded by the locals. We walked straight to the ferry and paid our own way back to our resort. Avoid Cancun Sailing. The pictures are nothing close to what is actually offered.
Amazing service from Avila and the rest of the crew on the Luv Cat catamaran. They were always going around to check on all the guests, if you want another drink or what music you want them to play. Very polite and friendly staff.
This is perfect for everyone. Great staff and great pictures. Food and drinks included and beaches were beautiful. The snorkeling was a little challenging but I would definitely reccomend it.
Great views and snorkeling. The time in town was way too long--most of the day--and the vendors are an exhausting swarm of people. They try everything to get you to buy, and it makes any attempt at shopping painful. You don't dare stop to even look at anything unless you're ready to be pressured into buying. We also didn't get everything we were promised. One stop was completely eliminated and we returned earlier than promised so we missed the sunset voyage. Then they put us on the wrong bus back to our resort so the driver didn't drop us off until the end of the route because he didn't know we were at our resort and we had another hour on the bus while he took us back.
Sapphire Thanks so much to all the amazing staff at Sapphire for giving our family the best trip ever. Everyone was super friendly and attentive, made us feel like family and engaged in the activities if we wanted to or just chill. The food was great, the architecture and landscaping had a special old colonial style vibe and very tropical and lush. So many activities to choose from, and easy access to countless excursions in the area for tours. Got to see a sea turtle up close snorkelling only a short distance from shore. Our family will definitely return!
This was the worst excursion I have ever had the displeasure of booking. I have gone on my excursions in Cancun, and the people who run this are just after your money. It is poorly run with abysmal communication. We booked this for my birthday and the night before AFTER 11 P.M. they emailed me saying they would pick us up at 845am the following day. We were given about 8.5 hours of notice, and of course we were sleeping when we got this notice. We woke up at 8:30 for this 10am excursion thinking that should hopefully be enough time since we didn't know what time they were picking us up. I immediately emailed them and let them know what happened and asked if we can be picked up a little later, or what our options were. They were less than helpful and told us it was our fault we didn't see their 11pm something email until the morning. I explained it was my birthday and again the circumstances, and asked if we could instead just go the following day. They were happy to oblige, FOR MORE MONEY. Which was ridiculous, they did not lose money on us not going. I asked for a refund and they essentially told me to F off. It was very poor customer service and it was clear they didn't care about anything since they already got the money. I ended up disputing the charge, and the bank agreed with me and gave me my money back. I have been to Isla Muejeres before, but I wanted to do a more formal structured adventure, which is why I selected this excursion for my birthday. It was disappointing how they treated us, and I will never book with them or their sleazy company again.
I bought two tickets with transportation included and when i asked them when are u gonna pick us they told me we have no transportation and they said they are gonna send my transportation money back today but now i am writing again and again and they are ignoring me . They took my money and not giving back to me terrible
We had an excellent time with Sailing Cancun! We went on the roundtrip catamaran excursion to Isla Mujeres with the open bar. The entire journey was incredibly enjoyable with fun and energetic staff. They kept the drinks and fun coming nonstop. We also had ample time on the island to explore and the staff gave us recommendations. Would definitely go again!
We were originally booked for the 27th, which was a beautiful day to be on q catamaran and getting to snorkel, which is what we were looking forward to on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, the driver did not take the time to check tickets or booking numbers and took someone else using our name and we were ignored when we asked if they were picking us up, and they left without us. After having to prove we weren't actually on the bus we were told to "take a cab" to the marina, which would have left us abandoned there as it was so late. We agreed to be rebooked to today. We understand that nobody can control the weather however, the day we booked and should have been on the catamaran was a beautiful day. Today However we were unable to snorkel and dealt with cold rain both there and back. It was very frustrating to know that people 'stole' our expensive excursion and got what we paid for and we recieved less because of it. All due to the driver who did not do his job correctly. Very unhappy
Viator will contract with companies that scam you. ALL AROUND MEXICO stated the trip was canceled due to weather and then refused to refund me. I ended up taking a ferry.
Very nice servers, guys and Pepe was super personable; however, the only drink option served to seated guest was a very bad & cheap beer which was poured in to guest cups all the way down into the backwashed portion then germs spread into the next guest cup on and on. Tequila was awful! Guest had to get up to the center console for the hard liquor mixed drinks; not easily done in a crowded cramped rocky boat. These drinks were not served by ship servers at all. Food buffet was not great in a sketchy spot on a dirty beach.
