Full Day Tour To The Best Of Holbox

It is a long day but well worth the time. We were picked up in a van from our hotel right on time at 7:50am. About 20 minutes later we met with the bus - air conditioned and comfy! It was a 2 hour ride to the boats. From there it was a 15 minute ride to the first of 3 islands; it was also about 15 minutes between islands. We spent about 30 minutes at the first island, about 45 minutes at the 2nd island and we had 2 hours at Holbox. After the islands they took us to a charming cenote to cool off. Our guide Jose was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, personable and spoke 4 languages! They served us lunch on the boat after the 2nd island and it was delicious. Homemade salads and sandwiches; water and soda included. Jose made it very easy. At each stop he advised us each step of the way. Ex: this island you do not need anything-no shoes, no cover ups, no bags. Just enjoy. The last island - bring your shoes, cover-ups, etc as you will be walking around a lovely little town. He made it seamless. Ask for Jose if you go, he was great. Holbox was super charming. No cars, just ATV’s, bicycles and scooters. No paved roads, they’re all sand, it’s great. Small and charming but does have several very nice restaurants, a couple of very small hotels. I’d love to come back and spend more time, like a week instead of 2 hours.

It was a Long but amazing Trip into the carribean ocean. The stops wäre Short but nice.

Holbox is beautiful! The experience is well curated with multiple stops and the staff is very helpful, the entire day goes by very smoothly! Just don't forget your sunscreen!

David was an amazing guide, and the visit is a very nice briefing of the beauty of the region, in my view. In a full day we visited incredible places and spent some time bathing in clear blue waters, as promised. The food was good, and so was the tour organization. Of course, Holbox beauty and its surroundings merit a longer visit to the place.

The trip was cancelled by Viator due to bad weather I asked for a refund and haven’t received it or any response from the company

We were picked up at 7:30. An hour and a half later we had not even left Cancun. We had to merge and change buses twice before we got on the final bus. It was over two hours in Cancun before we even started the voyage to the island. The trip itself is OK. You go to three different places on the island. The city itself is very small and easy to see in about 20 minutes. They give you two hours. One place is a nature reserve with not much nature. Just seagulls and pelicans. The second place you just stand in the water about 3 feet deep for 40 minutes. The lunch is eaten on the boat and it is not comfortable. The ceviche was excellent however, the rest of the meal left a lot to be desired. Returning from the excursion was the same with three consolidations and transfers to buses and two hours dropping people off. We left at 7:30 in the morning and we returned at 7:45 PM. If you wanna get away, I would recommend holbox however find a tour that spends less time with consolidating and picking up people. That was four hours of our tour.

This was so amazing. The history of the ships coming to holbox was amazing to learn. The water was so still and clear. Walking around the island was easy and had beautiful sights. It was so worth the trip!

We had an absolute amazing time on this tour!! Cheppe was the BEST tour guide! He explained everything and gave tons of awesome history for each stop. The food was incredible - surrounded by the beauty of the water - it was an unforgettable day. Would have LOVED more time on Holbox but still an awesome trip! The Cenote was so refreshing!

Great experience, punta mosquito was paradaise, worthwhile the long trip to get there. we couldn't go into the last place because it started to rain.. but everything else, was great

This day trip was truly an incredible experience. The locations we visited were pure paradise. Our tour guide was great and the customer service over the phone were lifesavers helping us when we initially missed our bus pick-up.

We booked the Ekinox Holbox tour for four people through Trip Advisor and it really was a great day out. A long day though, being collected from our Playa Mujeres hotel at 7am and returning around 9pm - but absolutely worth it. Noa was a brilliant guide from the off, his english was perfect and he was super funny and informative. Francisco and Maria the other two guides we really helpful and lovely too. We went to 2 islands before Holbox where you saw so much wildlife (including wild Flamingo's and eagles) and then 2.5 hrs on Holbox. This wasn't enough time really as the island of Holbox is total paradise.... Maybe plan a couple of nights stay on this island as it has so much to offer... The last island was the Yalahau Cenote (more open than the ones on the main land) in a mangrove area and it was a refreshing fresh water dip before we headed back to the main land. The 8 man boat you travel round in is basic - but ideal for the bombing around on the sea all day. They provide a nice lunch on board and drinks all day too. You're collected in small AC vans fro your hotel and then transferred to a larger coach to take you to the port to board your small boat for the day. I would say each way was around 2.5 hrs on the large coach. The 4 of us had a great day and we would all highly recommend this trip to Holbox....

My first time in Holbox and it was absolutely incredible! What an experience, the water and sights were amazing. Chepe our guide was knowledgeable and excellent. Our tour bus driver was the best. We had lunch, got to explore different islands and then walked around Holbox. I highly recommend this tour and a must visit.

Besides Mexico's famous "surcharges" , this excursion was a "bait n switch". Was told by tour guide that we'd get a lunch on Holbox Island. Lunch made by local business. Then partway through the tour we're told a big story that the Holbox was "too busy" , and they had to have food brought locally. Then we were fed a box lunch on the Dinghyboat , with 1 beer. Tour price plus the fees attached, not worth it. Buyer beware.

The crystal clear water was stunning. The guide we had was excellent. A great family day out whether it be with big kids or little ones.

Islands are beautiful. Food and drinks were great. I love boats and was excited to go between islands on rides. Lagoon with its fresh water was simply the cherry on the top of the cake. The most annoying part was that I booked an English tour. 95% of the time the guide spoke in Spanish only. His microphone wasn’t working and me and my son sat in the back and couldn’t hear a thing. We constantly struggled to understand what what we need to do and when to leave, when to be back, limited information in English about the islands. It was very stressful. And the at the end while napping our driver breaked during the drive so hard that I fell from my seat and had a bloody scratch on my tummy. We didn’t see much wild life an no flamingos. Didn’t had my expectations high and wasn’t disappointed.

Toured with my adult children. We had a great time! Jose was our tour guide and we were very few English speaking but he translated all. The bus ride was great. USB chargers that worked on the bus plus bathroom. Everything was timely and explained. The first two stops were beautiful sand bars, then a beach club stop with a tour and free time and lastly a fresh water lagoon which was perfect way to end the day. Lunch on the boat was very good! Drinks included as well. Water on bus would be a plus. Bring your own water and snacks as none provided. Left at 8am return 8pm. Great way to spend the day and really worth the money!!

This is a lot of time on a bus if coming from Rivera Maya We did see a crocodile though so that was a bonus. The rest of the day was amazing. Blue waters, great boat rides. On Holbox we hired a buggy which was an experience and great fun.

This was our favorite tour from our trip! The pickup was timely. The bus was in great condition, great AC and looked very new. They gave us a snack on the way there and on the way back. It's about a 2 hour drive from Cancun. The stops were INCREDIBLE. The photos were beautiful, and the water was PERFECT. The timing for each location was also super appropriate, it never felt rushed but it also didnt feel excessive. The lunch was incredible & the ceviche was amazing. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone!

This was a great excursion. Our tour guide explained everything well I forgot his name. The islands and the denote were so beautiful. Although if there is one thing they could change is the food. There’s not much food to eat for a whole day of excursion although it’s worth doing.

This trip was so worth it! The bus picked us up on time, the guide JOSE was amazing! We stopped at some of the most incredible places which look like something you only see on TV! And the lunch was really nice! I would definitely recomended!

Rodolfo the guide was very nice, professional and responsible. We had a storm just before the last activity and Rodolfo took care of us to make sure we stayed safe and we all returned to the port without problem. The company made a 5$ refund per person for not completing the activity. Transportation from the hotel was sharp on time. He made only 2 more stops to pick up travelers to not delay the trip. Food was good, the tostadas with ceviche delicious.

Quite a long day to go from the Riviera Maya, but well worth it! It was around 3-3.5 hours of travel. A driver took us halfway and then we swapped minibuses to join the main tour guide. The tour was only 3 couples so it was quite small and intimate. All parts of the tour were well organized, well timed, and well executed. Lunch was fabulous. The little island we were in was quiet and quaint. The locations were great and made for some fabulous photos. I would definitely recommend this tour

A great excursion from the very beginning! A trouble-free transfer as well as a fantastic tour guide and good boat captain! We had enough time at the various excursion destinations, the tour guide responded individually to the participants and gave everyone their time. The lunch on the boat was simple but delicious! This excursion can only be recommended!

The excursion was a real wonder and, without a doubt, one of the best experiences of the trip. Everything was perfectly organized from beginning to end. I want to especially highlight José, our guide, who was a 10. From the moment of pickup, he was attentive to us, explaining how the day was going to be and making sure everything was clear. Throughout the entire excursion, he was very attentive to the group, resolving our questions and worrying at all times that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves to the fullest. At each of the stops, he explained the history, curiosities, and details of the places we visited in a very clear and entertaining way. It is clear that he likes his job and that he has a lot of knowledge about the area. In addition, he was very kind, approachable, friendly, and fun, making the atmosphere throughout the entire excursion great. Without a doubt, having José as a guide made the experience even better. A true 10! We also want to mention Raúl, the driver, who was very kind and attentive throughout the entire trip and made us feel very safe. The excursion was beautiful: incredible landscapes, spectacular beaches, free time to enjoy Holbox, and a very good meal on board. Everything was very well organized and we had time to enjoy each place without feeling like we were in a rush. All in all, everything was perfect from start to finish.
