Itinerary
Río Lagartos is one of the natural jewels of the Yucatan Peninsula. Here we will enjoy a boat ride through its channels surrounded by mangroves, where you can see different species of birds. During the tour we will pass under the Las Coloradas bridge to reach the salt deposits, where different bodies of water can be seen, some of them a striking pink color. Next, we can enjoy a Mayan Bath and cover our bodies with clay full of nutrients. Then we will go to a virgin beach to wash off the mud in its crystal clear waters.
We will enter the Parque de las Coloradas. A pink wonder where you can take the iconic photographs.
After the Mayan bath, cool off on a virgin beach.

We has the perfect experience thanks to our driver luis and our guide chapped (hose)💕
Where do I start??? It was absolutely amazing day thanks to Enrique (I called him Enrique Iglesias he would know 😉) and Daniel our driver. First stop in small town Temozon. The church was nice. Then we went to Las Coloradas and wow how amazing place. We were lucky because of the water was really deep pink colour. Then we went to Rio Lagartos. That was 100% perfect experience. Crocodiles, pelicans, flamingos... just out of this world. The boat ride was great and Mayan bath amazing still have beautifully set skin from it. And then lunch in authentic Mexican restaurant. I had seviche and it was delicious. Fresh and perfectly prepared. Then back to hotel. Seriously Enrique and Daniel were fantastic and I can't thanks them enough for beautiful day like that.
Did not disappoint!.. Bus was clean and huge. Our tour guide, Darrien was great with English-speaking tourists like me. He made sure to translate or even spoke English first then translate to Spanish. We were passed on to local guide at Rio Lagartos who made sure we had every best views and explanation of the place. We were passed on to another guide and boat captain, Cristobal who was very nice and knowledgeable. We saw and did everything as promised— Mayan bath, flamingos and swim time. We ended this tour in a very nice local restaurant with nice servers and had the largest serving of Ceviche I ever had!
Comfy bus! Great guides! Overall great day and experience! Definitely recommend doing this tour! Long day but worth it.
The tour was alright - the guide was very professional and engaging. It was unfortunate that they are not able to pick up at hotels but the meeting point was fine. The tour of Coloradas is a little strange - pretty pink water but it's really just a salt factory. It's just kind of odd that it's a tourist attraction at all. But pink water is a novelty and it made for some nice photos. Rio Lagartos was a great boat tour. I highly recommend bringing your swimming clothes and doing the clay 'Mayan Bath'. Unfortunately our boat guide didn't speak much english so we didn't get a chance to talk about the animals we were seeing along the way. Honestly I would have rated this much higher but unfortunately the very end of the tour ruined the entire experience. Some of us were transferred into another van to go back to the pick up point with a different driver. I got out at this point and went to order an Uber. The driver asked where I was going and when I showed him the address of the hotel he said that he could take me and to get back in. I didn't think twice about this as I've been on other tours where the pick up is central but then they drop off at hotels directly. When we arrived at the hotel he very aggressively demanded a tip. He actually made me quite nervous. No bueno.
If you don't mind long travel by comfortable bus, then this is a trip you will love. The water is truly PINK!! Just breath taking. A great day out.
Great trip but a very long day. We loved the mud bath and the pink sand. Food was just ok. But the people were very attentive. Carlos and Jose were great tour guides.
Jose and Carlos were excellent tour guides. The bus was clean, spacious and comfortable. Both experiences were enjoyable. The food at the restaurant was just ok. The servers were very attentive at the restaurant. We loved the pink beach and the places to take cool pictures. The Mayan Mud bath was also fun. This is a super adventure, but be prepared for a very long day. It is five hours each way on the bus.
Ricardo was our guide. Very informative and able to answer all questions. And made the trip more interesting with his extensive knowledge. And has a obvious love of the my culture that added that extra little touch to make the trip a experience vs a tour Definitely request him for tours next time we at our time share.
Amazing experience with spectacular views Experienced guides introducing the efforts they are making in preserving the River areas
Great tour in nature. The pink lake is very pink but apparently sometimes it’s not - so be lucky! One major downside - the bus was way too small for my tour group. I was squeezed into something akin to a child seat (I’m 5’10”) with others almost sitting me. A 3.5 hour journey very uncomfortable for that. Would have rated 5 stars if not for the bus
We absolutely LOVED our trip! It was one of the highlights of our holiday! From the start, the communication regarding pick up time and what we needed to bring was clear, the vehicle AC was wonderful, and our guide Noe (Noeh) was fantastic. He took great care to explain every little details at the start of our trip and gave us some wonderful history on the areas we were passing and visiting. I would recommend this trip time and time again. Las Coloradas is beautiful, we loved boating through the mangroves and the Mexican mud body mask was great - especially washing it off at a beautiful beach afterwards! The lunch was pretty good too, I had fish and my hsuband had the chicken and both came with fries, salad, rice and a delicious mango salsa! If you're in the area, definitely book this trip! The only downside, and it is minor, the life jackets on the mangrove trip were not fit for purpose, the clips did not remain fastened. Luckily we didn't need them, but it was pointless wearing them!
This was one of the best tours I have ever taken!! It is a little pricey but it's worth every pesos, trust me! Pink lake is even prettier than on photos. I would like to thank our great tour guide Jose for being so kind and helpful!!
Be prepared for a very long day, but also a unique tour. I was skeptical regarding how pink the salt pond would be...but it was actually very pink. I regret that I didn't wear something pink to match the lake like many of the other visitors. There were many shorebirds at the pond, so if you enjoy birds, you may see a few species. We also did a mangrove tour, where we saw more birds. Be prepared to wade through some deep muck for the mud treatment portion. There were at least 100 flamingos when I visited in October, so that was a treat. The time at the beach was also nice and the food was good after a long day!
Views were amazing !! We enjoy the visit and we love our guide Carolina from Equinox. She was so kindness and friendly!
A must do day trip. Our guide was an excellent guide and went out of his way to talk to us + explain. We also had a great driver. Plenty of water, food and drink at all times and the sightseeing was worth the trip.
The places were beautiful - pink lagoon, the boat ride in river, etc but the tour company/guide was totally shady. Be prepared that you will need to pay an additional 800 MXN cash on top of the fees for the trip which is apparently for the park entry (which is actually only 75 MXN). They will only tell you this AFTER you have booked/paid for whole trip. Also, on the bus, we were told how the mosquitos were everywhere and we needed insect repellent to be safe from dengue fever... repellent on sale by the tour guide (naturally) for additional 200 MXN for a tiny bottle of insect repellent. Never saw one mosquito anywhere the whole time. And we all (10 of us) just could have shared one bottle. He sold us each one bottle. Tour guide made some good (shady) money for himself. Instructions were poorly communicated throughout the trip and it was NOT a language issue as I speak English & understand Spanish. Everyone was confused. Skip this tour company if you can. I did another tour with Easy Tours and they were fantastic -- excellent communicators, very organized, and no hidden fees.
Wonderful all the way from making the booking to visiting the sites. Kudos to Andres our guide, Christian the driver and Guillermo for confirming the booking!
Jepe and Luis were excellent guides on this recommended tour
Fun day trip for the whole family. The guides, the driver and the food were fine. Most beautiful was Rio Lagartos. The Colarados guide did nothing, but fortunately the Ekinox guides took over.
An opportunity to enjoy nature in small groups, far from the hotel zone, a different itinerary from the usual ones.
Jonathan accompanied us and was very helpful and kind. A beautiful excursion!
A small walk between the lakes of Las Coloradas, a fun boat trip among the crocodiles, ended with a mud bath
The guide is the ostia. Give a lot of knowledge and very friendly, amazing food and good Mood, good spot I don't want to get to 100 characters mandatory what is this
Increíble experiencia a precio accesible! Responden a todas tus preguntas El viaje es largo desde cancun pero te ayudan a que se sienta lo menos pesado posible!
An unforgettable day, the tour well organized. As for the tour was wonderful, knowing the coloradas was too impressive, as the water was not turquoise, but was pink!, the guide explained the reason why the water is that color, was extremely thorough in the explanation to understand in the best way. As for the rest it was still impressive but what stole our attention the most was the coloradas. An unforgettable tour!. Thank you EKINOX TOURS team. 10/10.
Carolina was a superb guide! She took her time to explain the history and the journey to us. She also taught us a few words in the Mayan language. The views were breathtaking, we took several photos.
The tour meets the expectations of what you can see, our guide José very attentive from the beginning, we had a great time on the tour to the coloradas, fully recommended. Good gesture to separate people from the tour when arriving back to Cancun so that everyone arrives in good time at their accommodation
A wonderful tour; the guide very friendly and very attentive; the food very rich (just improve a little dressings and sauces). The landscapes and the tour are very beautiful; the cenote is super father.
