Eloy was our guide and versatile with languages. One regrettable problem occurred at the very end of a fun day. At a tequila tasting one variety had an unusual ingredient (in the peanut family) and one family member had an immediate reaction. Eloy helped with finding pharmacy. But it caused an inconvenience for others due to the delay.

In English we were told that we had 1 hr in Chichen Itza so those of us that didn't speak Spanish sat in the parking lot for an 1 hr. I don't think it was intentional but sucked nonetheless as we were rushed and missed most of it. We also didn't do any of the activities they listed in Valladolid, sad as we were really looking forward to the church tour and dessert. We plan to do these both again next year but will go with a different company.
Breakfast box was included, but it was not given to us until 2.5 hours after we were onboard the coach. We were a group of 8 English speaking adults, the tour was supposed to be "English speaking", but the guide spoke less than 10 sentences in English for the whole day. Lunch was arranged at 3pm without any notice in advanced, or maybe not in English. The only instruction in English was given between visiting the 2 cenotes: "don't waste time to change clothes after the first cenote, we will go straight to the next". So the entire group boarded the freezing cold coach in wet swimsuit and dripping hair, turns out the ride was 45min. We requested to adjust the a/c but the guide refused in Spanish. This was the most terrible tour among the 5 we booked throughout our 2-week Mexico trip.
Tour was as described and well worth the entire day. Informative guide in both English and Spanish, and an excellent lunch buffet. Although stops were a little short, definitely enough time and was adequate. Get off the resort, get out and explore, don’t miss out.
The time allocated for the archeological park was way to little. Don't go with this tour. Everything was rushed. They give us a "meal" in an awful place, at a cenote where nobody wanted to go, in the middle of nowhere, on a almost distroied road, I thought the car will broke, anyway, awful experience. And the guide was mocking me because I tried to sleep the whole damn trip! It was actually nothing to see besides unfinished buildings or others left in ruins. Or endless jungle vegetation on the road to the damn cenote! Anyway, beware of this awful combination on this tour!
Overall the day was good with all places covered. No issues with the places covered. However, the guide was speaking most of the time in Spanish with some English words and sentences in between which really made it difficult to understand. If we had a guide who could explain better in English it would really have been helpful. With language exception, the tour was good covering great places with ample time.
Chichén Itzá was fantastic as were the cenotas. We were not aware just how much time is spent on a bus with this trip. It is a huge day you leave your hotel at 7am and do not get back until 10pm The tequila tasting is nothing more than a tourist trap to try make you buy over priced tequila. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and taught us much about each place we visited. The seats in the bus are very small and when the person in front reclines the back of the seat it literally right in your face and if you are tall as I am you spend a very long day with your knees jammed into the seat and it gets very painful. All in all you manage to see a lot but is it worth the pain and long bus trip? I will leave that up to you to decide
We enjoyed working with Eric at NexusTour to organize our Excursions. Love the amazing tour guides on our bus, Mario, Ricardo,Danielle. These are the best, we feel safe and comfortable being in their company. They did an amazing job. The bus driver Balam did a great getting us safe to and from. I recommend this company for any excursions.
Extremely long day. The bus was comfortable and there was a restroom on board for emergencies. The breakfast provided was a ham and cheese sandwich and white bread a juice box an apple, and a protein bar. We were picked up at our hotel on time by a van shuttle that drove us about 45 minutes or so to another location. We waited outside of a minimart that did not have a restroom for approximately 45 more minutes until the bus arrived the swim in the Centote was absolutely amazing. It was beautiful you shower changing in the locker room, but there is absolutely nothing allowed around the exterior of the cenote. So you have to leave all of your belongings in the locker unless you have a waterproof phone case or you just plan on taking photos without getting into the water. We did jump into the water from a ledge and it was incredible. The stop before the first Cenote, was a town called Vallaloid. In my opinion, the stop was unnecessary. The town was just OK with nothing much to see. They charged a dollar to use the restroom and we waited there about an hour. The tour could have been more efficient if we skipped this stop. After this stop and the first Cenote, we made it to Chichén Itzá. It was incredible. It was also extremely hot, so be prepared by bringing sunscreen and a large hat. after Chchen Itza we headed to the second Cenote. In my opinion, this was unnecessary, although it was nice. It was nothing like the first Cenote The road we took to get there was incredibly bumpy and took about 45 minutes just to get there. At that time we arrived at a restaurant, we ate a decent meal which was included, and then we had the option to go into the Cenote or just wait underneath the dining room. The thought of getting wet again seemed like it would be a little uncomfortable so we decided to stay in the restaurant. It took us another 30 to 45 minutes to get out of that location and back on the road. We then headed back towards our hotel which took a couple of hours. So all in all, yes it was a 15 hour day that really could’ve been done in 12 hours or less.
Spectacular senotes, I gave 4 stars because the tour takes more time picking up passengers then time actually spent at the senotes . Too much time spent picking up other tour passengers but the actual senotes experience it’s worth 5 plus stars
This trip is 100% worth it. But its a long day, bring protein! A phone charger (going in and out of service drained the phones) and maybe a book if you're not a car nap person. It was a 13 hour day but it didnt fell like it our side of hunger lol. The cenotes were stunning, lunch was delicious and Chichen Itza was magnificent and the tour guide was very help. Just wish we were better prepared for the long awesome day
Book at your own risk… had multiple glaring issues: 1. “ENGLISH SPEAKING GUIDE” … this was a “locals tourists only” tour!!!! We were the only non English speaking guests and the guide knew about it and still spoke to the whole van in native language.. He even talked about Chichen Itza on the way there and we did not understand a single explanation.. He even stated “I’ll just tell you in English later because it’s difficult.” WWWHHAAATT!!! 2. TIGHT SPACE.. I’m 5’5 and my knees were pushed against the back of the seat in front of me the whole tour..which was uncomfortable. IMO, more seats were added to this van to haul more tourists. 3. Multiple stops to pick up more local tourists the longest was over 1 hour.. no explanation..BUT WAIT .. maybe they did say something.. we just didn’t understand it!! What did we enjoy about this trip - SANTIAGO!! He was the ENGLISH speaking guide at Chichen Itza who was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the Mayans, relevance of the different structures and much more!! The 2 Cenotes - Ik Kil & Hubiku were also a very cool experience
I wouldn’t recommend this experience, especially for those staying in the hotel zone—unless you don’t mind spending long hours on a bus. We were picked up at 6:00 AM, but didn’t arrive at Chichen Itza until 10:30 AM. The reason? The bus made multiple stops, first around Cancun, then all the way to Playa del Carmen to pick up more passengers from various locations before finally heading to the site. In total, we spent nearly 10 hours on the bus for what should’ve been a 4-hour round trip, leaving us with only about 4 hours to actually enjoy the activities. My advice: rent a car instead. You'll have a lot more flexibility and time to enjoy your day.
Great tour guides! They were great! It was super hot and would provide us with water at every stop! The tour was a whole day and we didn’t have much time at the cenotes but not sure if I’d like to stay for more than an hour at a cenote. Amazing experience
I really, really wanted to love this tour and give it five stars. Our main tour guide was absolutely wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, and smoothly translated between English and Spanish. He actually spoke 5 different languages! The bus was clean and comfortable, and all logistics were handled effortlessly. At each stop, check-ins and tickets were taken care of for us, making it hassle free. The cenotes were absolutely incredible. Hubiku was the standout with its delicious buffet, beautiful village, immersive cultural experience, and had great amenities. Ik Kil was also stunning and definitely worth visiting! We had about one hour at each cenote and two hours at Chichén Itzá. It all felt a little rushed. I ended up not even being able to see all of Chichén Itzá or buy souvenirs. The guides at every location were well-spoken and very helpful, ensuring we got great photos and understood or learned about each location. That said, the day was far too long. 16 hours. We were picked up at 6 AM and didn’t return to our hotel until nearly 10 PM—most of that time spent picking up and dropping off guests from Cancún to Playa del Carmen and everywhere in between. If they streamlined pickups, it would be a dream tour!!! Highly recommend bringing snacks and extra water, it’s a very long day and there isnt much time at each spot to grab anything. Around 9 AM, we were given a ham and cheese sandwich, juice box, and rice crispy treat but the buffet lunch wasn’t until about 4 PM.
The tour guide was awesome. He did a great job explaining the history of the Maya culture. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
The sights were as advertised. The day started at 0730 from our hotel and we were dropped back at about 2130 so a very long and tiring day. The coach was about full with some 60 people which was just too large a group. The vast majority were Spanish speaking and whilst there was an English version, it seemed to be rushed. At Chichen Itza, we were told that there was an English speaking guide for a proportion of the group but because the overall group was so large, the guide was not made clear and we ended up with no guide and had to find our own way around. We seemed to drive for miles out of the way to get to the lunch venue and then there were multiple coaches there at the same time so lots of waiting and time wasting. Something en route would have been far more sensible.
I had yesterday this tour, and it doesn't mean only this company is selling this tour, it's been reselling from many other too. If you want to learn from my bad experience, if you are traveling from Cancun , you should make 100% sure, they don't drive you around to pickup some guests in a cities that aren't even close on the way to the sights. So what exactly is happened? First of all we were told to be in front of the hotel at 6:25, but have entered a bud at 7:00. it's not so bad, but we need this 30 mins for the calculation. The bus drew us to pickup some more guests in Cancun, what is ok, and than took a road to Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya, instead using the direct highway to the sights. We lost there more 90 mis. They made a 52 seater bus full, even it's clearly written "This tour/activity will have a maximum of 35 travelers" what was my main reason to choose this company, Less travers means less pickups and drop-offs and less possibility someone gets late. We stopped at all sight that were in the itinerary, but in most cases little bit shorter than other groups did, most probably because we lost so much time on the way. The sights are amazing and I highly recommend to visit them. Only at the stop in Valladolid, which has the only one purpose to bring you in a very overpriced shop to gain some commissions, there we got 30 mins of time and actually were picked up after 40 mins, as I later have get known that other groups do a 20 min stop. There is really nothing to do even for 20 mins. On the way back, of course, we went again all the cities for drop-offs that aren't on the way, but this time we stuck in a huge traffic, because we weren't using the highway to Cancun. It too us extra 150 mins. It means we had more than 4.5 hours drive without a stop. Even we took a lot of water with us and got some on the way, the last 4.5h there was no way to get any. Maybe it's sounds I'm picky. Maybe, but consider that this tour lasted for 16.5 hours, even the times to visit the main sights were shorten in comparison with other operators. The 4 hours extra driving and half hour unnecessary waiting to get started makes this tour a torture. Even I wasn't expecting that the operator could help me, I've contacted them and they told me this isn't a private tour, it's a shared tour. Does it mean they would have the right to bring you to any city in Mexico if they get guests? After reading this review they will reply "we apologise ......", there is no need to apologise, because as I've mentioned in the title THIS IS A FULLY INTENDED WAISTING OF YOUR TIME. This is not what have happened yesterday, they do it each day, over and over again.
We reached out three times to see about cancelling with a refund due to my husband being ill and they never responded. So we are out $300 and still have not received a response.
We enjoyed the tour, however, being harassed by so many vendors trying to sell their merchandise took away so much of the experience. The bus ride was comfortable and the guide was awesome. We just would've had a better time if we could focus more on what and why we were there and not having to avoid the very aggressive sellers.
We had a great experience and recommend it to anyone who's never been to Chechen Itza. Be prepared for a long day. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We felt extremely safe the entire time.
They did not pick us up. The pick up time was from 5:55am to 6:00am. There are 8 in our group. We were waiting from 5:45am to 7:30am. The hotel receptionist even called them but no answer. Even Viator representative called them, no answer either. They lied that they took a picture outside and we are not there. My husband and I were outside asking for other tour guide if they are the one going to Chechen Itza. The 1st and 2nd from other companies, we have no problem. Do not get this tour. I am fighting to get my money back. Shame on you! Very unprofessional. I booked a last minute tour through SAT Mexico Tours.
This was a great day adventure the Sacred Cenote was so AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL I enjoyed it so much! The Chichen Itza Mayan Ruins was AMAZING Hector our tour guide was EXCELLENT he did an AMAZING job giving us great insight on the history! The Cenote Hubiku was very nice to visit, I didn’t go into this cenote but I did walk around in the Mayan village and that was pretty to see came across some beautiful peacocks overall it was an AMAZING adventure! Hector was amazing and our driver was amazing!!
Great trip, great guide and great overall organization!! You have found what you are looking for. Food was more than amazing too. Felt super well thought out, no waiting times nor a second left to be bored. Allan was very knowledgable and happy to asnwer all questions. I llan on visiting all these places again!!! Thank you so much for a memory filled vacation
This was my first visit to Mexico, first time joining a tour group and this one specifically went everywhere I wanted to go and had hotel pick up included! I would not have done this visit any other way. They message prior to your visit to ensure you have no unanswered questions or worries and then the amazing service carries on while on the tour. Eloy was our tour guide alongside Adrian who checked us in throughout the day and Jesus our driver who drove us all day. Eloy was amazing and had a wealth of knowledge about Mayan culture and all the sites we visited! He was very personable and made sure the whole tour group was happy and stayed safe (even protecting us from too much sun lol). The buffet was great with dancers and performers. The views in the cenotes were breathtaking and an incredible experience. Thank you for a great last day of our holiday!
This trip has created life long memories. Our guide at Chichén Itzá, Santiago was wonderful, very knowledgeable and a real character who was fascinating to listen to. He answered all our questions. Chichén Itzá was incredible. We then visited our first cenote Il Kil was beautiful and superbly run. Our second cenote was not quite as pretty but still stunning with opportunities to jump in from height. The buffet at this cenote was perfect with entertainment thrown in. We would highly recommend this trip. It was a long drive from our hotel (Grand Riviera Princess) but the guide on our very comfortable coach, Christian, was great throughout. He was fun and informative. Book this trip for life long memories!
Awesome experience. You have to check it off your bucket. List lunch afterwards was amazing as well. This was part of our private Chichen itza tour.
I was told via email AND phone call the day before the excursion pickup from our hotel is 7:05 am. 7:05 came and went, nobody showed up. We decided to call them, the operator said our time is 7:15 am on our email (not true). We decided to wait a little longer since there may be traffic. Come 7:30 am, still nothing. Decided to call them again, they told me the van was outside waiting (I have been waiting outside the lobby since 6:40 am) but there was no tour guide or van in site. By 8:15 am after many exchanges with them, the operator told me “sorry, we lost our driver today” and asked if they could reschedule. After all that hassle, it’s not worth it. Save your money and look elsewhere.
It could have been a perfect tour! The tour guide was amazing but the problem was we've waited for couple of hours in Aki Supermarket (Tulum) for the bus to come!
This tour was a lot of fun but a very long 12 hour day. Our tour guide was excellent. We did the hotel pick up and we were picked up at 7:30 and dropped off at a gas station to wait for everyone else. The tour bus didn't get there until about 9:30.
Excellent experience, amazing places and a rich history in its contents. Your guides very friendly and attentive to our questions.
The experience was very good! They complied with all the details, there were only changes in the cenotes and in the order of visits since the day was very hot and the sun very strong, which is understandable. The team of Eloy very predisposed always! One thing to improve would be the cleaning and maintenance of buses, some had damaged or dirty seats.
The tour itself was really well planned and organized, so we didn't have to wait long. You pickup at the hotel was unfortunately half an hour late without notice. We wouldn't have needed the second cenote because it was very dark and gloomy. The buffet food was good in taste, but I guess we both had food poisoning overnight. Conclusion: Good in itself, but food deficient and tour schedule was upended at short notice.
Excellent very well organized, fantastic Guide Hector or more known by Foca. The CENOTE are fantastic city of Valladolid very beautiful and the cherry on top of the Cake CHICHEN ITZA with a fantastic Guide. Punctuals and good bus. They can mark without any problem. It's trustworthy.
Excellent organization and very attentive service. Both the schedules and the attractions were carried out within the scheduled time.
