Do not book this tour under any circumstances! It was an absolute insult. I booked this tour to see Chichén Itzá, Valladolid, and a cenote. In the morning (I had to get up at 4:00 AM!), I was informed that Valladolid and the cenote were not part of the program—even though I paid for them and they were listed on my voucher! The same thing happened to other travelers! My only option was to ride all the way from Cancún to Chichén Itzá and back. I ended up visiting a cenote on my own. I will be demanding a full refund. Now I am expected to handle the refund myself because 'Amigo' claims it wasn't their fault. Never again!

Arturo and Jorge were excellents. The experience was great. I recommend them. They discribed Maya culture so well. ✨✨✨
Chichen itza was unbelievable. Who knew we would be at the center of the earth on our vacation. And the cenote afterwards was jaw-dropping. Just wish we had more time there.
Marco was a fantastic tour guide - so knowledgeable, engaging, & friendly. If you can book with him - do it! He clearly cares so much about the region, has done much research, & he shared amazing details through his wonderful storytelling. Amigo Tours was very well organized - we got picked up for the sunrise tour at our hotel in Cancun in a large air-conditioned with a toilet. It was about 4 hours each way & the drive was safe. Chichen Itza was breathtaking - we spent 2 hours there and could've spent 2 days - we learned the vast history of the place & some of the mysteries that exist. The best part of my whole trip to the Yucatan Peninsula! Since we went in the hot summer, I highly recommend going early - you get there before it gets too hot & before most of the crowds. I also recommend wearing long-sleeve shirt, pants, hats, even carrying an umbrella as there are few trees to provide shade. The cenote we visited was Cenote XCajum and it was refreshing & fun. You can get changed in locker rooms, then rinse off with the outdoor showers, before descending the steps to jump into the water. The food was buffet style at the lunch & a mixture of meat, breads, fruits, & veggies. And beverages for sale. Bring pesos for the cenote - that's the only way to pay for lockers to store your stuff while you swim. Plus tips for staff & the gift shop.
“Recently, we had the privilege of embarking on the “Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim” tour and were incredibly fortunate to have Marcos as our guide. His deep knowledge and passion for the history and culture of the region were evident from the start. Not only did he bring Chichen Itza to life with captivating stories and lesser-known facts, but he also introduced us to the beauty of Valladolid and the refreshing experience of the cenote swim. Marcos was attentive, ensuring everyone’s questions were answered and that we all felt comfortable throughout the day. His enthusiasm and warmth truly enhanced our experience. If you’re considering this tour, I highly recommend seeking out Marcos as your guide. His dedication to sharing the wonders of the Yucatan is unparalleled!”
Marco was very attentive and knowledgeable and had a clear passion and love for the work he does. We felt we had a very unique and special experience and we thank Marco for that immensely! Everything was beautiful and the weather, though hot, was manageable and worth it! We would definitely recommend the Amigo tour service and if you have a chance to have Marco, do it!
Marco was an excellent guide!! He even showed us cool tricks to get amazing photos. Thank you Marco!
Our archeologist, Marco, was friendly and extremely knowledgeable, even sharing some personal experiences with us. Touring Chichen Itza is an absolute must and highly recommend taking the early access tour, you won't regret it.
Awesome trip would it again! Marco Antonio was very helpful and is very good at his job ! Was definitely fun !
Marco is extremely knowledgeable about his tour. He made us feel like we were a part of history with his facts and demonstrations. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
One of the best tour ever, If I have the chance I would do it again. Shoutout to Marco Antonio our tour guide made it the best
Marco was a great guide, very funny, knowledgeable, and easily able to switch between Spanish and English. We learned a lot about the ancient site and about Mayan culture.
Great photos perfect timing at both Chichen Itza and chichikan cenote was amazing! Marco was awesome very friendly and professional
Marko is a great and knowledgeable guide that takes time to explain and show all hidden gems. The Chichen Itza part was amazing and the cenote very relaxing.
What an incredible tour of one of the most amazing places on the planet. Our experience was amplified by our kind, knowledgeable, funny guide, Marco. His 30+ years of experience made our excursion informative and so interesting. We learned an immense amount and laughed our butts off the whole way. Even our kids were engaged the entire time. While other tours were fighting the crowds and the heat, Marco led us to the perfect spots at the perfect times. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to tour chichen itza with Marco. He and our driver, Enrique, were the best of the best. We will be coming back for sure to explore the other parts of chichen Itza once they are open to the public and we will most definitely be booking our tour with Enrique and Marco at amigo tours!
I’m so glad I did my research because amigo tours delivered an unforgettable experience. Marco not only shared knowledge we wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else but made us feel so much more connected to the culture of the Maya people. His story telling was funny but also heartfelt and really made us think on a deeper level. He’s been doing this for a long time and it shows. My favorite line of the day was…”the only influencer I’ve ever known was my grandmother” We felt so lucky to have him as our guide. THANK YOU MARCO!!! Also Enrique our driver was smooooth, we felt very safe the entire trip there and back. Last, the early access tour was definitely the way to go!!! Thank you Amigo tours!!!
Marco was absolutely amazing on our Chichen Itza tour! His knowledge and passion for the ancient site were evident from the start. He provided fascinating historical insights and made the experience truly memorable. Marco's engaging storytelling transported us back in time, breathing life into the Mayan civilization. His friendly demeanor and his eagerness to address our inquiries enhanced the tour. He navigated the crowds effortlessly, ensuring everyone had a great view. We couldn't have asked for a better guide to explore this wonder of the world. If you're planning a trip to Chichen Itza, Marco is the guide you need for an unforgettable experience.
We had an amazing trip and that was mostly thanks to Marco. He was very knowledgeable and taught us so much. I would recommend anyone do this tour when coming to visit but request Marco if you can! He will make the trip 10 times better. The early morning wake up is worth it to beat the crowds (and the heat).
The tour guide, Marco, and our bus driver Enrique, were professionals from the beginning to the end of the tour. We really enjoyed the Chichen Itza experience with Marco giving us the narration and history as if we were in an archeology TV documentary. We loved the hands on demonstration of the acoustic anomaly created by the structures and also the tips and tricks to get the best photos. The drive was overall smooth and we felt safe being whisked away from one attraction to another. Once we arrived at the lunch buffet experiential attraction, Chichikan, we were escorted to the souvenir area and introduced to a giant tree of life. Then we had tequila tasting with 5 different kinds of tequila from the El Jefe brand crafted for 5 generations. Lunch was at the same place with the lime soup and tacos as the star. The cenote around the corner was pretty but we didn't swim in it. What we really liked about this tour is that we beated the crowd (and the heat) as the first bus to the Chichen Itza and that gave us great photos and better touring environments before the crowds came in addition to wrapping up by early afternoon.
From the beginning of the trip it was very clear Marco is an expert. He gave incredible insight to everything all along the way. From inside tracks at Chichen Itza to a neat experience at the Cenote Chichikan after an insight to a Mayan medicine man. If you are looking for “more than the average tour guide”… look no further! Marco was nothing short of impressive!
The places visited were amazing. The guide Marco was beyond expectation provided an amazing experience for all of us. Highly recommend this tour and Guide Marco.
This tour is one of the best experiences we had with an all day excursion. The trip started off early at 5am in the morning, but this is actually very good since we avoided all the crowded and were able to tour around Chichén Itzá with ease. This is especially nice if you want to take pictures of the temple complex. Our guide, Marco, was very nice and informative when it comes to history of the place and Mayan culture. Logistically, the experience is seamless from the hotel pick-up, transportation, and good standpoint. I definitely would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in exploring Mayan culture.
As a regular trip guided tour to Chichen Itza this met all expectations. The wording on the description can be deceiving, There is no early entrance, no sunrise to be viewed, and entrance fee is not covered expect another 1200 pesos on top the tour bus costs. What is meant by the wording is arrival at opening, entrance fee covered to parking, and you will be picked up prior to sunrise. The crowds to beat imply both tourist and vendors. If you want quiet and alone you need to get there before vendors start setting up too. They are everywhere and once set up begin bothering viewers. The other activities on the tour are ok. Lunch is mediocre. Cenote is a well manicured and manufactured swimming hole. The Mayan walk was said to be included but was not actually accessible. Both the ruins and mid day stop feels rushed with the time allocation but understandable in order to do it all in one day and still return at a reasonable hour to the hotels.Be warned people will not stick to the time schedule which means delays for everyone. As a result expect another hour or two longer than advertised. (estimate round trip time 12 hours (430am-5pm) from Cancun) Overall ok tour if you want yo see Chichen Itza, not drive, and not spend a fortune doing so.
Great overall, would come again. Loved the guides Carmen and Ramiro. Bus was cold and a perfect place to nap.
Great experience having Carmen and Rodrigo lead our tour! The Chichen Itiza was so cool! highly recommend
Carmen was incredible! She was so informative throughout the tour and a genuine please to spend the day with! The whole tour was so interesting and fun, and the different activities made for a great day in Mexico! Thank you!
This day trip was amazing! Do yourself a favor and book the early access tour, it is absolutely worth to wake up early and beat the crowds and the heat. Our guide Marco was simply the best. He's been doing this for 33 years and you can feel the passion he has for his job. One of the most knowledgeable, entertaining and fun guides I ever had. Thank you Marco for such an amazing day you made for our group!
We came on the early morning tour with Marco as our guide. We had a great time! They picked us up from the hotel in a bus that was comfortable and had AC. He was very knowledgeable about the Mayan culture and its history. After we went to the cenote and had buffet lunch. The cenote Chichikan was so beautiful! 10/10 experience!
Going early was totally worth it, we got to Chichen Itza right as it opened so it was not really crowded at all and less hot. Marco was awesome at explaining the Mayan Culture and helping everyone take photos at Chichen Itza. The second location with the cenote was absolutely beautiful. It was great for pictures but also had a platform to jump off of into the water. It was calm and beautiful with not as many people there.
Marco is the best! We were on his tour that was his 33 year anniversary of being at our guide. He is very knowledgeable and funny. Highly recommend.
Marco was a fabulous guide. Very knowledgeable. Took great pictures. Loved the early entry as it was already very hot outside.
Marco is a great tour guide! His knowledge of Chichen Itza was fantastic. Wish we could’ve had more time to take some photos and that we did not have to spend so much time at the cenote.
Marco was fun and amazing. Definitely recommend the early access tour. Even with getting there at 7.30am the sun was brutal. But definitely would recommend and do again.
Marco made this experience so wonderful with his knowledge and great experience. This adventure had us wanting to know more of the beautiful culture of the Mayan people. We want to see how much the Mayan people advanced with the rise of Tulum. Overall this tour was one for the books.
Wonderful tour! Marco was so extremely knowledgeable and funny! He even taught us how to get some great photos! I would recommend this to everyone!
Marco is simply the BEST!!!! Knowledgeable, fun, and the master on how to take the perfect pictures! Thanks Marco! ❤️
Marco is easily the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Most guides tell a few stories, but he really puts his archaeology degree to use, and. I was so full of questions! As for the cenote, I’m terrified of heights and the steps scared the crap out of me, but it was 100% worth it. Such a beautiful view with perfect water and so many cute and friendly fish! If you’re looking for an early access tour of the ruins, this is the best option. Hands down.
Our trip to Chichen Itza and Chichikan Cenote was amazing. Our tour guide Marco made it a great experience. 2 thumbs up to him. The places he took us to was beautiful and the water was so refreshing to swim in. I would totally use this tour guide again and recommend coming here.
Marco was an amazing tour guide! We did the early morning tour to avoid the crowds and it was so worth it. Picked up on time, clear communication, and nice small group. Never felt rushed and the bus was nice and comfortable for the trip. Would do it again!
Great tour. Worth the early start and the price is very reasonable. The views of the ancient cities are amazing. Carmen, the tour guide, did an excellent job providing history and storylines. 10/10
The tour was amazing, Carmen shared interesting stories about culture and history of mayan. Amigo Tours, thumbs up! Carmen and Ricardo, the best! 😍
Excellent tour with Carmen and the driver Ricardo. Very informative and funny too. The Cenote was fantastic. Even saw a turtle. Would definitely recommend.
Highly recommend this trip! We were the first bus to Chichen Itza and got amazing photos. Marcos is amazing and gave us tons of information as well as helped us too get great photos. The cenote was breathtaking and refreshing, we also beat the crowds with this one. The tequila tasting was great & while the buffet was mediocre, Marcos shared with us the secret taco spot in the corner which were the highlight of lunch. Plenty of time to sleep on the bus - seats were very comfortable and air was great. Overall getting up early was so worth it. Marcos was a riot and honestly recommend him because he made the tour even better.
Our tour guide is Marco from Amigo Tours; very knowledgeable, funny, amazing and on time. We did the early access to Chichen Itza, first tour bus on site. Not too crowded. Tour highly recommended and worth your money.
Absolutely fantastic day, Marco was amazing and very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend the earley visits as very little crowds and we were the first through the door. Cenote was again amazing and a fantastic experience with an excellent buffet lunch .
Marco was the best tour guide I've ever had. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything. I wouldn't hesitate to take another tour with Marco.
Wonderful experience; really worth it, our tour with Amigo Tours was incredible; the pick up is quite early but belive me is worth it , you get to see the beauty of Chicken itza early in the morning while listening to the sounds of nature around you ; our guide Marco was ...wow ...passionate, knowledgeable, kind , funny...I mean all the qualities you want to see in someone guiding you somewhere, belive me this guy has it , his passion for the Mayan culture is unbelievable; the second part of the activity the Cenote again ....simply incredible, you get to swim with the fish and the turtles, don't worry even if you're not the greatest swimmer like I am you'll be okay , you get a life vest which is mandatory and costs 50 mexican pesos , the lunch was okay plenty of options, obviously the tacos were the best . Overall it was a wonderful experience which I would strongly recommend to anyone passionate about history and likes to think outside the box , once again most of the credit goes to Marco !!!! Thanks a lot 🙏 it was great . Marius & Natalia
Best tour I’ve ever been on, thank you Marco for such a great experience! Would recommend this tour to anyone who’s interested in seeing Chitchen Itza
Marco was AMAZING! He was funny, polite, helpful and had so much knowledge. He has a degree in this area of history meaning he knew so much. He English is excellent. The cenote was so refreshing, and the food pretty good. It was a really good value tour and you won’t be disappointed. Better to go and seeing the temples early rather than later in the heat so the early start is worth it.
Marco was a great tour guide, we had a pleasant time, fun, and entertaining. Would recommend this tour guide with anyone.
