Thoroughly excellent day trip. All the activities were successful. The Flamingos were fabulous and only 10 feet away from us on multiple occasions. The tour guide, Dolphin, was friendly and helpful. The driver was safe and steady. Both the Boatmen were exellent. The lunch was delicious. In the Mangrove canals we saw two Crocodiles, both very close - less than a foot away from us. We also saw a variety of different birds. Then at the Crocodile sanctuary you could feed the Crocs with a stick only 3 feet long. We had a brilliant day.

Reviews
We really enjoyed the Rio Lagartos speed boat and the views, we were able to see the crocodiles very closely. The visit to the farm was great, we enjoyed holding the baby crocodile and feeding them. I don't remember the name of the old guy in the farm, but he was very nice and friendly, making everyone feeling comfortable to hold the crocodile. Arturo our guide tour was amazing! He was helpful and explained everything well. The Las Coloradas was not what we expected, very different from the pictures on the website. The trip from Cancun was very lonnng as we had to go to Playa Del Carmen to get the other people to go on the van. Overall a good trip, but extra time to leave the people from Playa Del Carmen first in their hotels. It would be much better to have a van leaving from Cancun straight to Las Coloradas. It was very hot and the air conditioning in the van was not working properly.
Comfortable bus with water and beer included and engaging tour guide Pablo. Pink waters at salt flats were beautiful. River boat ride was relaxing in the breeze and sun...even after a little hitch up on the sand bar viewing the flamingos. Beach stop was quick but refreshing. Lunch restaurant had showers and lively music with delicious fresh seafood. Last stop of crocodile farm was interactive and the staff were very helpful to get us some wonderful photo memories. Long day from pick up at 6:30 am and drop off at 9:45 pm but so worth it!
Great day out very well organised..Dolphin our guide was excellent. Would highly recommend..well worth the long day
Pink beach is awesome. Tour guide’s explanation is very nice. He covered everything.. Food is very dry
Very unprofessional.. hour late picking us up , we were the 2nd stop to get picked up and the last to get dropped off @9:30pm. The driver didn’t know where he picked us up from or where to go . & the host was very rude, he was all about money. Don’t recommend sorry
The experience was very good and especially the tour guide was very helpful to take pictures for you.
On the boat ride the crocodile came close to the boat to get some fish from the captain. The pink lake the flamingo it was a true experience . Oh the lunch was delicious. The tour guides were knowledgeable I learned a lot. And my family had a great time
Arturo aka Brad Pitt is the best! He speaks 5 languages. I didn't expect to get the information in French but he was always ready to tell us everything in French. He was answering every question. He took care of all of us. He made sure it was the best experience by bringing the birds to us. He made sure we knew what was coming up and that we all understood. I highly recommend this tour!
The staff was friendly and informative of any questions that I asked. The only downfall was that it was a cloudy day so the waters were not as pink.
This was our worst experience, wasting our time on vacation in Cancun. We were instructed that we would be collected at 6:50 am at our hotel lobby and they showed up 1 hour later! The person who went for us was sweating and looking awful. We were in a van getting suffocated since the air-conditioned was barely working. We decided to decline our participation because of all the failures and asked for a refund, which never happened. Just avoid this guys!
Arturo was a very friendly guide and very knowledgeable Amazing things to see. It is a long way to travel but worth it.
Overall, the locations on the tour were fantastic. The pink salt lakes at Las Coloradas and the nature at Rio Lagartos were beautiful. I highly recommend visiting both of these places. However, I don’t necessarily recommend this specific tour. We were picked up on the bus at 5:55 am from a hotel in the hotel zone in Cancun. We then sat on the bus for the next two hours as people from both Cancun and Playa del Carmen were picked up. People were then transferred from our bus to another in Playa del Carmen to go to Chitchen Itza. Only then did we start the 3 hour drive to Las Coloradas. Because of the absurdly long bus ride (~5 hours), the rest of the tour felt very rushed. We only had about an hour at Las Coloradas, which was enough time to change into bathing suits to prep for Rio Lagartos and do the 45 minute walking tour with the guide (who was great!). There was barely enough time to put on sunscreen as we began the walking tour in the sun. We were then rushed back onto the bus to move onto the next location without a chance to look around ourselves or visit the gift shop. I very much enjoyed Rio Lagartos. I loved that the guides had the wildlife “trained” so we were able to get up close to them. However, I do wish there was more commentary. Once on the speedboats, I was expecting to be told what some of the flora and fauna we were seeing were, but no one told us anything. We saw many animals (especially birds), but I don’t know what a lot of them were. The food. We were given a brown paper bag lunch as advertised on the website: sandwich, a very small apple, juice box and granola bar. This was given to us around 9am. Since we had been up since 5 and didn’t get a chance to eat breakfast because it was too early for the breakfast at our hotel to be open, we immediately ate it. We weren’t given food again until ~3pm Yucatán time (which is 4pm in the same time zone as “breakfast”). We were also only provided one water bottle, which was not enough considering how long we were on the tour and the fact that it was hot out. We also brought water with us but drank all of that too. We were hoping to be able to grab a snack or a drink during the duration of the tour, however, there were no opportunities to buy food or drink because of the rushed nature of the tour. As for the lunch we were provided, it was delicious, but the portions left much to be desired. If you order the chicken, it may be enough food for some people. The fish options were not very filling. And, again, this was the second and final meal provided for the day. After a long day out in the hot sun on a tour, sustenance is needed…and this was not it. The crocodile farm was cool and fun, but felt like it was slapped onto the end, and again, felt rushed. I did enjoy seeing, holding and feeding the crocs though. We didn’t get back to our hotel until 8:30pm. We drove from the crocs to Playa del Carmen, people transferred to another bus, and then we began to head back to Cancun. The 3.5ish hours on the way home felt like a breeze compared to the 5 hours it took us to get there. However, we had only had two small meals, some cereal we had brought with us for breakfast and not enough water…so we were overjoyed to be back at the hotel to eat and drink some water. Overall, the content of the tour was wonderful and I would do that again. But I would not do it with this tour company/this specific tour. Maybe the people picked up in Playa del Carmen would have a better review of this tour. But if you are coming from Cancun, consider a different tour. And bring lots of food and water, because there’s not enough to go around!!!
Amazing sites and very knowledgeable guides. Laguna Rosada is very pretty and get to go up to a viewpoint of the whole site. Rio Lagartos you get to cruise on a speed boat and see wild flamingos, crocodiles, pelicans fly up to the boat, and many more wild animals. Tasty and filling authentic lunch at oldest restaurant in town. Crocodile farm was crazy, being able to feed and take pictures right up next to the crocodiles. Every guide was nice and friendly and spoke good English!
It was long trip to get to the pink lake, Omar was the best travel guide! He knows how to make the road trip safe and fun Pink lake was pretty And boat riding was great! Saw too many crocodiles! It was almost 11 hours of trip, but not boring at all!
Tour operator was very passionate about the things we were going to see and did a great job communicating. I really enjoyed visiting the PInk Lakes and felt that it was a one of a kind scenery. Really cool seeing the pink flamingos in the wild, but wished we could have gotten closer. Otherwise, a very good experience.
Where do I start with this review… completely car crash of a tour. - told pick up time was 5:55am to which the driver turned up at 6:15am - told us the travel time (which is stated in the tour description) was 3 hours to first stop, took 6 and a half hours, as the tour bus driver and tour guide decided to pick up random people on route and drop them to another location before making our journey. - tour guide allowed vendors enter the coach to try and sell plastic phone cases to people onboard. - served a “breakfast box” which was in fact a tiny ham sandwich with a piece of chewing gum… - tour guide made no interaction with everyone onboard, all he done was speak mostly in Spanish and anyone from Middle of coach back couldn’t hear anything. - told us we had to pay a Federal Tax as soon as we walked on the coach, and then advised I was only able to pay by cash or with a physical bank card which we didn’t have present. (So agreed to pay once back at the hotel at the end of the tour) this should be included in the price anyway 🤷🏼♂️ - our “lunch” was at 3:30pm-4pm as clearly the tour was running behind schedule, so no food available until then. - when arriving to the boat tour with crocodiles in water, they had no life jacket for my son, as they stated it wasn’t needed which I found hilarious… - arrived to the crocodile sanction where they only spoke Spanish language, so no idea what they where saying the whole time. - then for another 5 hour drive back to our hotel, luckily our hotel was the first drop off point back. We then get on to paying the Federal Tax, which the tour guide followed and waited at my reception, once I grabbed my bank card and returned to the lobby, he told me it was €19 per person, which is incorrect as they advertise it being €16 per person, and then once paid he took a photo of my bank card without my consent, and told me this was proof of ID??? A picture of my bank card….. when I asked him what the hell he was doing, he then showed me pictures of other peoples bank cards explaining it was for ID purposes, I have since rang my bank and cancelled this card so these fraudsters can’t try and use my card. Also note when contacting this agency through trip adviser, they message back in very rude manors and are not interested in helping (have plenty of screens shots available). Please note this was all with a 4 year which they took no duty of care.
Great tour with Arturo and David. Arturo did an outstanding job translating for our travel group on the bus made up of Spanish, English, French and even some Portuguese! He made everyone comfortable and explained the days activities clearly. Like others have mentioned bring snacks and drinks as this is an all day even from 6am-10pm so the schedule is tight. The water was pink and beautiful. The sun is grueling so be sure to wear spf, hat, and sunglasses. Wear clothes that are fast drying to alleviate the time needed to change if you swim in the lake. Have spare cash for port fees and tips. Be prepared for towels as none will be provided. The restaurant they take you to serves a great meal and they take your order in advance to alleviate a long wait. You will pay for your drinks as those are not included. Overall, I highly recommend the trip and think it’s a must see if discovering the magic of Mexico!
Nice guide and driver, ver y hot there but worth it! The croc experience was amazing! Neber seen a croc in the wild before!
Los Colorados is not quite pink, more like a dirty orange lake. This was not very interesting as a tour spot, truly. Rios Lagartos is a small charming town but our tour was too short and advertised as 2hours in the boat tour for flamingos.Got maybe an hour/ 20 mins or so.Lunch was good, grilled fish with salsa.Breakfast was pitiful, with only a cheap sandwich of Bimbo bread and sliced meat. The mud bath was fun but didnt have the baby butt softness of skin effect as touted by the tour guide.CELESTUN in season was far more spectacular for flamingos and much longer boat ride.
We waited a while for our transportation to the tour to pick us up. Then once it arrived, the van that we traveled in was very crammed for the number of people that attended and it was very uncomfortable to be in for the many hrs we were in it, that’s why i took a point off but overall the tour itself was great. I enjoyed the sites that we visited. And our guide Jose was great.
I give 4 starts because the bus was FREEZING! I asked our tour guide to turn the air up a few times and he did. But eventually turned it back down! The ride from where we stayed ended up being 5 hours there and 6 back! My fingers were numb and I couldn’t feel my breast. Overall, the excursion. Was fun! The pics are deceiving, no one is really touching the pink water! If you book this excursion, TAKE A BLANKET, a towel or something!! & a change of clothes because the wet clothes were very uncomfortable for that long period of time! Eat before you go or you will not eat until lunch time which was about 3o clock!
I was a bit skeptical about booking this tour since there was only 1 review but I must say this tour ended up being the best tour I have taken in Mexico. The 3-hour drive was comfortable in an air-conditioned bus with around 50 people. Our driver was great and our guide Toledo did an amazing job. 1st stop was at Los colorados where we took some amazing pics, then we headed to rio lagartos to see the flamingos. Following that we made a quick stop to use the Mayan clay, which was optional, then we swam in the gulf of Mexico to rinse off. Lunch was provided shortly after and to add icing to the cake I got to feed a crocodile! This was one of the best tours and everything was executed efficiently and on time. I will definitely recommend this tour to family and friends!
The tour was nice experience overall, but there were many problems. First, my pickup time was assigned at 5:25am. Me and my brother were waiting in our hotel lobby at that time. After 10 minutes of no one picking us up, I messaged the company on Viator, messaged and called every Whatsapp number they gave me and got NO RESPONSE! Terrible customer service and terrible to make people wake up so early for no reason. We thought we were being scammed. Finally around 6am, a van finally came. The driver didn’t even say anything when opening the door for us, was just texting on his phone. I said what happened to the pickup time? He said there was traffic (there wasn’t). After the late pickup, we picked up more people who were annoyed at the lateness and then we all got dropped off on front of a random bank! THEN a bigger bus picked us up for our tour. Horrible communication, they never mentioned this plan- so me and my brother were just so confused all day. The salt mines were pink which was cool, but we barely got any time to hangout there. It was a very rushed experience. Then we went to the boat ride which was nice , but don’t expect to see flamingos up close. The restaurant was okay for lunch. Then the crocodile farm seemed to be really unethical. All the crocodiles were trapped in small spaces or cages which made everyone sad. They also tape their mouths shut for pictures. The staff on this tour was nice-but they sent me and my brother in a cab ALONE home from the bank we got picked up at! Very confusing itinerary with zero communications. Overall it was a nice experience but i would NOT do it again. It also says the day is 11-14 hours long. It was actually about 17 hours so if you book this tour make sure you get a lot of sleep. Very strange to mislead people with an inaccurate itinerary. Do this tour if you want to see Las Coloradas but be prepared for a long, confusing day. Hope this helps.
The best excursion we had in 10 days! A lot of emotions and fun 🤩 pink lakes, amazing experience with crocodiles. Unforgettable experience 👍👍👍
Nice tour, even though it was an extremely long day! We were picked up from our hotel at 5:55am and got dropped off again at 9:00pm. So it was a super long day! That being said, it was very enjoyable and relaxing more than physical activity. The pink lakes were nice, but my favorite part was the speed boat ride in Rio Lagartos. I loved seeing the flamingos and crocodiles and pelicans! The lunch was also large! The crocodile experience was an unexpected fantastic surprise at the end of the day. My tips for anyone on this tour. Bring lots of drinks and snacks for your time on the bus, since more than half your time will be on the bus. Thankfully the bus itself is very nice and airconditioned though! Bring extra cash for drinks, fees, and tips. I will say, we were only one of two English speaking groups on the tour. Arturo was absolutely amazing at translating for us, but do not expect a lot of hotel zone tourists the whole time! Knowing some spanish would be almost a requirement as some of the people we met only spoke spanish and it would have been harder to enjoy if I couldn't communicate at all. I highly recommend Arturo as a guide and overall enjoyed the tour!
All of it is spectacular! Must do! Pink lake is unbelievable, boat ride fun and crocodile experience is crazy! Can hold babies and feed adults up close.
Absolutely incredible, I’ve done a lot of tours and this one exceeded my expeditions by miles! Arki was a fantastic guide and the whole day was unbelievably great
Superb diversified outing on salt making in a splendid rose. Followed by a boat trip to meet the very diverse flora and fauna. The walk in the crocodile farm 🐊 is exceptional. You can carry baby crocodiles from 3 to 4 years and feed adults accompanied by staff all in the price. The only downside is the length of the journey from Cancun with traffic jams approaching the major cities that we pass through. To do absolutely!
Very nice and special place , Las coloradas Boating and the experience of contact with local birds beautiful The clay scrub a wonder, the beach to which they will take us to remove the Mud is a still preserved reserve, the water clear and clean Very friendly guides everywhere The restaurant where we ate, tasty Mexican style One observation: when I spoke to ask Trip Advisor office if there would be activity in the water they told me no.. I had no swimsuit or towel with me.. thankfully I had an extra change of clothes., Try to give correct information
The guides were very friendly, practical they speak several languages. The bus was comfortable and had air conditioning. Practical when you return from visiting the pink waters because it is really very hot. Provide an extra bottle of water per person. Beautiful tour of the pink waters , the guides are top and help especially to take pictures. The meal was hearty and good. -The visit of Rio lagartos was great , we were able to see pink flamingos , pelican and birds of all kinds .le + we were able to give them fresh fish . We were able to take a good clay bath and rinse in the Gulf of Mexico , which is really TOP. We got as close as possible to the crocodiles thanks to the guide , it was very impressive. Finally we visited the crocodile farm, we were able to take the smallest and feed the big ones. We recommend this experience however the day is very long from to 3/4 hours drive To/R.
We had a panoramic view of the Pink Lagoon. It was a beautiful moment, with a nice weather. I was also able to see crocodiles and flamingos on the boat tour, an experience that can only be experienced here! Thank you for the wonderful day, including our friendly guide.
The guide could communicate us in 4 languages including: Spanish, English, French & Italian .. Extremely user-friendly & enterprising, he coordinated between activities that the deadline to welcome the group was almost instantaneous from circuit to circuit.
