We had an amazing time with George Hernandez & Gato! They were funny and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend going to see Coba and the cenote with them!

Itinerary
Visit Cobá, a majestic city surrounded by exuberant vegetation and recognized for having the tallest building in the archaeological zones north of the Yucatan Peninsula, Nohoch Mul. It is a 7-level structure as tall as 42 meters (138 feet) which has 120 steps from bottom to top. This archaeological site is located in a beautiful area surrounded by 5 lagoons and numerous cenotes, noted for having the widest network of roads called "sacbé" meaning “white road” in Mayan. This gave the Mayans great power and control back in the day as they facilitated trade. During your tour, you will also explore the Church Temple, the Oval Temple, two different ball games. Get an up close look at the famous stone carvings, where the Mayans etched out important events, as well as astronomical findings. Don't miss out on this impressive cultural legacy and visit this historical site.
Immerse yourself in nature's beauty as you take a refreshing swim in a stunning cenote surrounded by the lush jungle. This crystal-clear oasis offers a moment of tranquility and connection with the sacred waters revered by the ancient Mayans.

Archeological expedition in the heart of the jungle, with a knowledgeable, fun guide. The shaman blessing ritual was very emotional and we had the cenote all for ourselves. We were picked up at our hotel, there was fresh fruit, snacks and bottled water in the van. Gerardo, the driver, was great. We will treasure these memories forever.
Ana was our tour guide and she was amazing! She did a great job explaining what we were going to do and the significance of some of the sites and things we saw along the way. She was very kind and wanted everyone to have a good time. It was around 8:30-3:30 from our resort, and about an hour drive each way which was not bad and there were plenty of drinks and snacks provided. The food we had at the cenote was delicious. The temple tour was really interesting, Ana was very knowledgeable and pointed out a lot of cool features and facts. The cenote was really nice and relaxing. It was a small group which was nice. It was well worth the money and I would definitely book something here again. Very safe and very fun!
Anna was fantastic and was very knowledgeable and energetic. Loved her. Special mention to her for sitting with me half way up the ruins as my legs turned to jelly lol. Amazing experience. Anna is an asset to the company.
Coba wasn’t too busy compared with other architectural places of interest that we have been to. We wanted to do this one so we could climb the steps to the top of a pyramid to see the views. There were lots of steep steps as expected but it was fun, there are rope handrails and everyone managed it. There is a great view above the canopy of trees at the top. The bicycle ride speeding back was fun. Many people didn’t wear trainers though we were; do make sure you wear shoes you can walk in. Our guide, Ana, was highly knowledgeable on the Mayan history and cenotes and had lots of pictures and diagrams to explain further. We had a fun dip in the cenote (saw bats, baby swallows and kingfishers, fish and turtles) before being fed a traditionally cooked meal. A good day out and we didn’t need to spend hours sitting on a coach!. Ana (guide)and Nancy (the driver) made a good team.
Anna and Nancy were so awesome. They were very informative and pleasant to talk to and knew many details. We would definitely take another tour with them. The Myan Temple and Cenote were fantastic. Very historical and great site scenery.
¡Fantastico! This was a last minute booking for my wife & I and we are soooo glad we didn’t miss it! We were attracted to this Mayan Temple Tour because we wanted to see this place and get some knowledge of the area and culture and we were not disappointed one bit!! Also for the Cenote tour we were all blessed by a shaman before entering the beautiful Cenote. But the real gem of this tour was our guide Ana, she was incredible, full of energy and passion for the place and its history. She made this tour magical. Also a huge shout out to Miguel for getting us to and from our destinations safely. Also also the lunch was amazing and delicious, prepared tirelessly by the crew at the restaurant. Ana and her crew kept us cool and hydrated during a hot and humid day, that’s hard to do here. Thank you, thank you, thank you, this was an awesome way to kick off our visit here in Riviera Maya.
Great day out and very knowledgeable guide. Coba ruins were very interesting and the Mayan Ceremony, Cenote and lunch were a lovely way to finish it off. Thanks so much Ana ☺️
My experience was amazing. Ana who was my tour side kept us engaged from the time we got in the van until the time we got dropped off. Definitely worth the money and you should book!
Gato was very knowledgeable about the Cabo temple, Mayan culture (past and present), and Yucatan geography. Gato paid close attention to all guests and their ability to deal with the heat and terrain.
Anna and the driver were absolutely fabulous. The cenote we went to was very disappointing very green and not clear.
Perfect day experiencing Coba and a beautiful cenote with traditional food, exploring the Mayan culture! Our driver Adrion & guide Mica were exceptional. We were first picked up from our resort at 6:30 am (we were the earliest pick up due to being the furthest resort); we then picked up some other people that were doing slightly different group excursions before making our way to a meet point in playa del Carmen where we transferred vans and were with Mica and Adrion the rest of the day. We went straight to Coba, got a history lesson from Mica (extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide) and after being transported to the big pyramid on tricycles, climbed straight to the top of the pyramid. We then walked our way back through the grounds to the front, learning more about the other structures on the way. After finishing the Coba tour, we tasted local tequilas and honeys at a shop just outside the entrance to the site. Adrion had cold chilled towels waiting for us to hep us cool off and a cooler of water, beer, soda and snacks. We then made our way to the cenote where our group was the only one there a majority of the time. We asked for permission to enter the cenote during a traditional Mayan ceremony with a shaman, and had 30 minutes to swim. Once we were done, we had a traditional lunch and could browse Mayan made goods. Then transported back to our hotels! Definitely wear sunscreen, appropriate shoes for walking/climbing. A hat and sunglasses are a must. Small group of 9 was perfect for us. Also don’t forget a swimsuit, a towel, and a fresh change of clothes for after swimming! Highly recommend this trip, amazing experience for what you pay for!
Jareth and Isaurou did a fantastic job guiding us throughout the day. They were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed learning about cenotes, the lagoon, and the beauty of Mexico.
We really enjoyed our trip to Coba and preferred it to Chichen Itza as it was much quieter. Was longer than we expected as it said 3hrs online but it was actually all day. We were picked up at 8:15 and arrived back at our hotel 16:15. Our guide Ana and driver Luis were great, really friendly and very knowledgeable and it was great that there were only 10 people on our tour.
Everything was wonderful! Our tour guide, Cesar, was outstanding! We had such a great family experience! Pushed us out of our comfort zones!
It was better that what was described to us. My wife and I really enjoyed it. I will recommend it to anyone. Waters and beer was free. So no need to bring your own
This was a very nice tour. Ana and Luis, the guide and driver, were fantastic and very knowledgeable. The food was very good, but I wish we could bring our water into the restaurant.
Nice bit of guiding and driving. Really appreciated the history of Mayan math, history, and culture. Coba visit worked well. Saw alot in 90 minutes. The rickshaw bikes enabled my 82 year-old Mom, with a cane, to make the trip. Cenote (including the ritual at the start) was great. Ditto the food. Ivan (our driver) was always looking at the road and never his phone. Mike had good humor.
The tour was excellent!! Our tour guide Adei (pronounced "a day") was super friendly, well informed and did a fantastic job leading us through the Coba ruins. And getting the cold towels after walking through the heat was a nice touch! The cenote was really cool too! We got there and there were no other groups at first - so it felt "very vip". The meal that was included was really good! My husband is celiac and had no issues with the food!
Driver and guide were friendly and very knowledgeable. Van was comfortable Food was good Distance was a little longer than expected
Coba is a large shaded site. Anna was an amazing tour guide with knowledge about the Mayan culture. She was very enthusiastic and respectful of the sites we visited and answered every question. Driver put safety first. Partially enclosed cenote was secluded with very few tourists. Not as clear as other cenotes, but very peaceful. Trip was a few hours longer than the brochure. We didn't mind as it was so informative and you did not feel rushed. Bravo!
So amazing! The cenotes were perfect! The history on Cobá was impressive! Vera and Adei were a pleasure to adventure with!
We did two separate adventures with Cancun Adventures to Coba and Ek'Balam. Both of the adventures were EXCELLENT!!!! Luis was the tour guide for Coba and he provided incredible information to add to the experience. After we ate an incredible Mayan meal. Our second adventure was to Ek'Balam and Eduardo (Lalo) our guide was amazing and added even more information and humor to the adventure. Both drivers we had were safe and got us to all of our destinations safe and on time. All in all my partner and I will be booking adventures through them again and hope we can see Luis, and Lalo again. Thank you Cancun Adventures
Wonderful experience, Lalo was a terrific guide, great sense of humor and very knowledgeable! We enjoyed this trip a lot!
We had a wonderful day. Our tour guide Jesus Salas was great. Our bus driver Pepe took great care of us. We saw lots of fish in the lagoon and really enjoyed the cenote.
Our trip to Coba and Cuxtal cenote was amazing. Mario (Gato) was awesome and made learning about the Mayan culture and history fun and informative, while answering all our questions. Plus our driver Benjamin was skilled and ensured we had cold water and snacks and got us safely to and from our hotel. Thank you!!
Fantastic experience visiting Coba and Cenote with Gato and Benjamin from Cancun Adventures. Highly recommend!!!!!
Cory our guide was super knowledgeable; great 5 star guide!! Cesar our driver was a safe driver with fun music, snacks and beverages too!
Excellent guide (Adei from Cancun Adventures) with a lot of knowledge! Beautiful place and lots of amazing history and culture. Not too busy, which was nice.
We had a great time. Amália was wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. She was entertaining and enjoyable. The meal at the end was delicious
We did the Coba Express half day tour. Ana was our tour guide. She’s sooooo amazing and made this experience worth it! Her passion and knowledge of Coba, Mayan culture, and the ecosystem keeps you engaged the whole time. She was bubbly and fun to be around. Our driver Jose kept us safe and drove very efficiently. The tour itself is great. You get to learn about everything and get Some free time to explore and talk to the locals. Even though this half day tour didn’t include lunch, our guide and driver kept us well hydrated and had plenty of snacks. It was a great experience that I recommend everyone go to. For some reason the trip itself is not on trip advisor but you can book on their website or amstar like we did. Thank you Ana and Jose!!! ~Ash and Cam ◡̈
What an amazing tour. Our guide was so informative and kept you captivated the entire time! We really enjoyed the entire tour. What a beautiful place!
Amazing tour by Jesus!! Very kind and friendly and gave us an in depth explanation of each part of the tour which was beautiful!
Amazing half day tour to Coba. Eduardo was our guide and was brilliant - knowledgable, entertaining and mindful of tailoring the trip to the group. A fascinating site covering quite a large area so be prepared to walk!
Tips: Don’t be the last couple that makes everyone wait for you. - wear comfortable shoes and clothing. There is a lot of walking and it can get hot even though there are many trees. - take a bicycle chariot on the way back and don’t forget to tip the worker.
Very good tour guide and transport. Thank you These excursions are so worth the time and money. Bring good shoes, if you have disabilities with walking it is difficult. The bikes helped a lot.
Great day trip! Wonderful history Mario Pizarro! Cobra was so interesting and spectacular!! Then we swam with sea turtles!!
Freddy and Eric were the best guides and driver. We learned so much both on the drive and throughout our visit. Met amazing people who went on the adventure with us from all over the world. Highly recommend.
Freddie and Eric, our guide and driver were fantastic. Freddie did the tour of Coba and was very knowledgable and made the experience fun and interesting. No problems with pick up and drop off and comfortable enough in the van. We didn’t try the food (which was a packed lunch) but might have been more inclined to do so if somewhere to sit and eat rather than the van or standing outside it in the sun, hence the 4 stars. Overall, great experience and would recommend.
It was so quiet and beautiful! There was a bit of uneven terrain, but most of the 1 mile walk to the main temple was a flat and even caliche path. There were plenty of tour groups present, but almost no overlap when we were up close with the temples, courts, and other structures. Moises, our tour guide, was excellent, knowledgeable about Mayan history, language, culture, religion - but also about the plants and animals that we encountered on our walk. And no vendors onsite!
Freddy and Diego were an excellent team. Your was extremely well organized and provided really nice service. Ready was extremely knowledgeable about Mayan civilization and the Ruins at Coba. Really Pleasant and educational experience. Wound highly recommend!
Amazing! So funny and kind. Had a great time! The rides were amazing great music, and the food was fantastic.
Another great excursion during our trip to the Riviera Maya. A lot of shade for this one that made it a bit cooler in the jungle. Lots of walking for this one with an option for a “taxi” (a pedicab) Watch out for the crazy turkey - while beautiful to look at, he’s aggressive and will chase you. Cristina and Alejandro were the perfect guide and captain.
Awesome! Our guide Christina was SO knowledgeable. Good ruins. Our package included the bike ride through to the far ruins - worth it!
The tour was fantastic! Jessica and Francisco were both incredible and well-informed. The time management, from hotel pickup to return, was excellent. As a travel agent who pays attention to detail, I had an outstanding experience—5+ stars!
We enjoyed learning from Jessica and had a fun time. The history was very interesting and flying through the woods on a rickshaw was fantastic!
Coba Guided Tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya Playa Mujeres 914112120 Gaby Recio was our guide and did a great job. The Mayan limo drivers were outstanding, what a job they do! Make sure you take bug spray.
Amazing experience! Nice places visited and we did some pretty adventurous things! We also saw a lot of animals in the sea. The only negative part was that the guide was hard to hear in the back of the van.
Rafael was an amazing tour guide! He gave us a wonderful tour of Cobá and of the El Sueño cenote. From the moment we met both him and Rafa (our driver for the day) they were nothing but courteous and professional. The had snacks and cold waters for us throughout the day and that was so nice since it was a very hot day. I highly recommend Rafael for any tour and will request him when we return to Cancun. The kids still talk about how much fun they had❤️.
What an experience! We booked the Coba express tour to see the ruins and hopefully have a great day out while in Mexico. What we got was a profound appreciation for the Coba site, the Mayan culture and an education that I couldn’t have received elsewhere! Our guide Erika was not only patient, knowledgeable and friendly but taught our family things that will stay with us for quite some time. I wish I had had that level of involvement and education on other trips! If you are ever in the Riviera Maya area and have a chance to go to Coba with Erika and Daniel, please take the time to go! You will leave different than when you arrived! Thank you Erika and Daniel for a beautiful morning 😊
