This was suppose to be the limited express trip to Chichen Itza. But it still took over 12 hours! We drove to other towns (not resorts) to pick up passengers. That took a lot of time. The driver was courteous and safe. The guide (Juam) just talked tooooo much. When we got there we were to have 1.5 hours to visit/shop on our own. But the guide talked so long that we only got 30 minutes to visit on our own. The guide knew his stuff and very informative but only 30 minutes of exploring time out of 12 damn hours??!?!?!? Not good. But the place was amazing !!
Great experience! Victor was a great guide, funny and informative. Armando drove us safely back and forth and was very polite.
Ana was an incredible guide. Her passion for the Mayan people and the history shined through. Her knowledge made the trip relevant and we learned so much! Geraldo was a great driver. We took naps and relaxed.
We had a great experience on the early morning Chichén Itzá tour! Our guide, Jonathan (aka “Johnny Cash”), was incredibly informative and a fantastic storyteller, making the history and culture of the site even more fascinating. He was attentive, patient, and happy to answer all our questions throughout the tour. Our driver, Jose, was also great, and everything was very well organized. The customer service was excellent as well! We initially waited at the wrong pickup location, but even at 6 a.m., we were able to reach an agent who was extremely helpful and guided us to the next pickup stop in time. We really appreciated the quick response and assistance. The only suggestion for improvement would be to offer more pickup locations for added convenience. Overall, a wonderful experience with a great team, and we highly recommend this tour!
Vincent & Jose were awesome. Very knowledgeable and caring for all travelers. I highly recommend early access. Amigo Tours are flexible and tend to thr various needs of travelers.
Paul and Manuel were great! Sincerely appreciate them, they were extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
We booked Amigo Tours for a family trip to Chichén Itzá and chose the option to visit Chichén Itzá only and return to our hotel afterward, since we weren’t interested in visiting the cenotes. Our tour guide, Marcella, was extremely knowledgeable and informative. She shared so much interesting history and really made our visit to Chichén Itzá memorable. Richard, our driver, was also wonderful. He was attentive and focused on the road, and we felt safe and comfortable throughout the trip. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend this tour. A special thank you to Marcella and Richard for making our family’s visit to Chichén Itzá such an enjoyable one!
Booking was easy and the trip was amazing. Loved our tour guide Kevin with Amigo Tours. He was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun.
Kevin was world class! Very knowledgeable and considerate.
Kevin was a great guide. Very informative and fun to interact with.
Amazing experience. Marcella, our tour guide and Jose, our driver were awesome! They are passionate on their jobs. We’ve learned a lot and the ride was smooth. The van could use an upgrade and i felt sorry for the tall ones needing more legroom
We had a great time visiting Chichen Itza today with our family. Beto a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and friendly and he taught us a lot. The site was amazing and I would highly recommend this tour if you come to Cancun Mexico.
Experiencing Chichen Itza was a thrill. If you are looking for a no-frills tour from Cancun & back, this tour is for you. We were back at the hotel in the afternoon in time to sit at the pool & later have dinner with family. Lunch was not provided, but we stopped at a convenience store & also stopped for restroom breaks. We avoided the heat, crowds, traffic, & vendors with our early morning tour. Pastor made the experience educational & informative. David was a safe driver.
When you're in Cancun, you need to visit Chichen Itza. We rented a car and did it on our own without joining a tour. It was so much better. When you get there, you could pay for your own personal guide tour for 1300 pesos. It was about 1.5 hour. It was worth it. The site was fine. Lots of walking in the August heat. And lots of vendors everywhere trying to sell you their products. Wear a hat or bring a good size water bottle and an umbrella to shield from the sun. Our guide was good. He stuck to the script on his binder. He didn't make any wild claims that I've heard from other guides. Overall, it was great. Parking is not free but they take cards. The entrance was $40 per person, they also take cards. In all, we had a great time walking and learning.
Excellent overall and being in a small group and arriving early was definitely more comfortable. Our guide Ramiro was engaging and gave us a lot of freedom and answered a lot of questions !
Early acces less people, not so hot. Good driver (David), attend an experta guide (pastor). Really funnievthevway he explian the Bole Game.
My wife and I really enjoyed our tour of Chichen Itza with our guide Manuel and our driver Jose through Amigo Tours. We were able to arrange pickup right outside our hotel (Presidente Intercontinental) in the hotel zone of Cancún, which was at 5:10 am, before picking up a few other people to join the tour. Our group was 12 in total, which I think was a good size for the experience. Small enough to feel friendly, but not so small as to feel like it was overbearing. Also (since it wasn't entirely clear when we booked), the cost of entry to Chichen Itza is included in the tour price, as was the cost of the toll road, and both of these were handled by Manuel and Jose. The only additional cost after booking the tour was the state mandatory tax, which we were able to pay online right after booking (Amigo sent us a direct link to do so). I wish the booking had been a little clearer that no food or drink was provided, although we did have brief opportunities to buy our own snacks and water. With the early start, we were able to arrive at Chichen Itza right when it opened (8 am), before many of the local vendors had even set up their stands. Manuel spoke fluently in Spanish and English, though gave almost all the information in easy to understand English, as our group was mostly English speaking. Manuel did also arrange a Spanish guide for a Spanish speaking couple when we got on site. The tour itself was very informative about the main central pyramid, the smaller Jaguar/Eagle and Venus pyramids, the ball court, and the market area (with all the columns). He shared a lot of information about Mayan culture, including the Mayan calendar, naming customs, war and relations between cities, trade, monument construction, ritual sacrifice (and why people volunteered to be sacrificed), and warrior culture, and how all that related to the actual buildings there. He even showed us and let us handle a reproduction of the rubber ball used in the ball court. In total, we were at the actual Chichen Itza site for a little less than 2 hours (it takes some time to walk there from the parking lot / drop off area). The guided part of the tour was about an hour and the rest of the time we were given free reign to explore before meeting back up to leave at 10:30. The travel is inherently long due to the distance, and we hit some traffic on the way back, so we arrived back to our hotel around 4:00 PM - local time, as Chichen Itza is a different time zone, an hour behind Cancún. This tour was a great way for us to not only see but also learn about the significance of Chichen Itza, and we didn't feel like we missed out by not going to other stops. If anything, I would have liked to have a little more time at the main archaeological site and a little more information on the Tripadvisor page, but otherwise I don't think I could have had a better experience!
It was great! Manuel (Tequila) gave a lot of cool facts and history regarding not only the pyramid and the Mayans but also of the cenotes even though the tour was specific to Chichen Itza. We arrived at open and left by 10:30 AM so the crowds weren't that bad. It was honestly a relief to get out by then because the sheer amount of people coming into the area when we were leaving was unbelievable. There was a lot of driving due to the distance, as expected. The drive was nearly 8 hours round trip since we went to Playa del Carmen from Canun for more pickups. Left at 5AM and returned around 3-4PM.
Juan 136 was very knowledgeable as tour guide. I paid a little more to pick us up from our resort and the convenience factor made it worth it. I have taken other trips to chichen itza before where they pick u up in a big bus and make every stop possible to drain u of your money not here, they picked us up in a shuttle bus early, then we picked up a couple other passengers along the way and off we went, straight to the point. No useless stops, we beat the crowds and most of the extreme weather(it was August after all). The price point is on average of what others charge but the straight to the pyramid is what sold me and didn't disappoint, got back to my resort by 2pm and was still able to enjoy the rest of my day at the resort . Comparing my previous experience from before and this one, was night and day. I want to see the pyramid and that was it....I didn't want to stop and buy trinkets every hour and this did not disappoint.
Our tour of Chichenitza was really great! Our tour guide Pastor was extremely knowledgeable and gave a great tour and answered all of our questions. Our driver Jose did a great job. We felt very safe the whole trip.
Pastor was a great guide and had some interesting and great stories to share. He was very accommodating and welcoming.
Julio Rodrigo Juan did a great job!
It was a great experience! Our guide Alberto was amazing for the entire trip there. He was very pleasant and made the trip interesting. He helped us take pictures at great locations.
The amount of money paid for this trip was actually very decent because the tour guide was great and the ride there was very smooth. Since we booked an early tour there were little to no people and we got to see the sites and our guide took great pictures of us!
The tour here was the whole reason we took a trip to Mexico. I loved almost everything about the tour, from the zest of the guide for local history, to our bus tour guide who was very funny, to the smooth navigation of the bus driver. Getting to the Yucatan early was essential in not completely frying, as the temps peaked around 108 degrees that day. We went to a Cenote after and the cool water was absolutely welcome and needed. I think the only negatives were that there were a lot of moments that made us feel very pressured to spend or buy. I think that the tour company had some partnerships throughout, so many moments on the bus felt like a little sales pitch for a local. I get it, but it became overwhelming at times, between the star charts that were being sold to the pictures with a parrot that were thrust upon guests, to even just tipping after the tour was over (we would've tipped, surely, but the pressure was piled throughout for not only tips, but BIG tips).
Interesting sites with well organized tour. Guide Manuel and driver Alfred were professional and nice. Pickup was smooth and ontime and van was nicely air conditioned. Recommend.
Going early was definitely the best idea as less busy, and cooler. Amigo Tours were brilliant in terms of providing clear, helpful advice about pick ups and drop offs, so the whole trip was stress free and relaxed. The driver was great, and the coach was comfortable and air conditioned. Plus, they fully appreciated the need to stop for a comfort break! The guide Paul was really helpful, informative and great company. My 16 year old and I really enjoyed it and we would definitely recommend using Amigo Tours if you want a stress free, enjoyable trip to Chichen Itza. Would also strongly recommend going early, plus they did appreciate that everyone was tired at 5am too. Really nice other tourists on the trip too, which was a bonus.
My husband and I had a wonderful day with our two guides, Marcela and Rodrigo, two truly passionate individuals who shared their knowledge with us in a joyful, friendly, and welcoming way! Guides who make all the difference to this experience, and for that reason, we recommend Amigo Tour 1000%! A huge thank you to our bus driver, Enrique, who covered 600km that day while making us feel safe and secure. The bus was in excellent condition, and the organization was truly top-notch! Another enormous thank you to the three of you who proudly shared your culture with us; it touched us deeply! A truly enriching experience! 🩷
I had an amazing trip to Chichén Itzá thanks to Juam and Jesus! Juam was such a fantastic tour guide. Friendly, knowledgeable, passionate, and he made the whole experience so interesting and fun. You can really tell he loves what he does. Jesus was also an excellent driver. Professional, kind, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire trip. Thank you both for making this experience so memorable. I would highly recommend this tour (especially with Juam and Jesus) to anyone visiting the area!
If you just want to see Chichen Itza and back to your hotel. This is the tour for you. Our guide Frank and our driver Jose was amazing. Picked is up 5am early in the morning and got us back in our hotel room by 230pm. Frank was very informative and Jose was a safe driver. Would recommend.
Great tour guide Victor. We love not only his dip knowledge but also how he takes care entire group during this experience.
Great excursion, learning about the Mayan history. Our tour guide, Pastor, was very knowledgable and kept us laughing throughout.
Amazing place, Chichen Itza. The drive is long but we made pit stops. We anrrived early before the crowds . Our guide Kevin was very knowledgeable and informative regarding the Mayan history. The driver was kind and courteous . Highly recommended.
I like the experience. Our tour guide who name is Kevin was perfect guy. He gave the information perfectly and guided the tour
Had a great time with Rey and Jose! Pick up was easy, and the drive was comfortable and safe. Rey was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The early start is VERY worthwhile! Beating the crowds and a slightly lower temperature really helped us and the kids enjoy the experience.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the culture and architecture at the pyramids. Very great from start to finish
Very responsive communication let us know exactly what to expect. We also loved Audi as our tour guide.
Great tour! We had such a fantastic experience and felt like we were transported in time to Mayan Culture. Our guide Rodrigo and driver Alberto were just the best, Rodrigo being half Mayan himself was able to give us the best understanding of the culture and site. If you have a tour I cannot recommend asking for him enough. Emotional and historical trip for sure! The timing was an early morning start ~5am (small minibus ~18 people transfer on time arrival to our hotel) and we arrive before the crowds so was great to see the wonder of the world without too many people + early tour drop off works well for us as we had the afternoon and evening free to relax and catch up on beach time Tips - take a packed lunch for early start, water bottles, and some cash for tips for the incredible tour Thanks again for the tour and we will be sure to recommend
The tour was great. The group was picked up from our different hotels in cancun at 0400 am. We made a pit stop for bathrooms and for snacks. Then we seamlessly entered (being the first ones in the morning). Kevin was our tour guide. He was excellent. I particularly loved his explanation of the sacrifices. I noticed among the other tour guides at the site that Kevin's explanations were the most fluid/coherent. Other tour guides were alll over the place with their explanation of the echo components. Kevin along with our driver Graciel were an excellent team. 5/5 would recommend.
The tour guide was very informative and very knowledgeable I learned a lot about the Mayan culture during this excursion. You arrive early morning before most tours get there so you get the enjoy the rest of the evening. Early morning tour means cooler temperature. Our tour guide Frank and driver Jose were awesome and made this trip memorable .
GREAT experience, right from the 4:30am pickup. Beto was welcoming and had a warm sense of humor. He was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Mayan history. He made sure that we were all oriented to the space; double checking that we had visual tags and knew our bus number. 5/5 easily. It’s also worth mentioning that as a female solo traveler, there was never a time I felt vulnerable or isolated.
Victor was a wonderful, funny, and informative tour guide! Gustavo was also an excellent driver. Very fun group and overall a great experience. The early morning experience was definitely worth it because there were no crowds and we left before it started to get hot.
It was a great experience. Will definitely recommend this tour 🌎🇲🇽 Chichen Itza is amazing and our tour guide Jonathan did an amazing job explaining the history of this wonder of the world.
Excellent. Jonathan and Gustavo made our day wonderful. A very interesting and informative tour with the right amount of time at Chichen Itza. Well organized, and professional.
A must see! Ramiro was a fantastic tour guide! Lunch was fantastic and would definitely recommend!!!
Good value for money Very knowledgeable and attentive guide. Excellent driver. All went to time. Highly recommend.
Long way to go from Cancun but well worth it. Our guide Beto was very good and experienced, l would give him at least 5 stars out of 5. You can get snacks when you get there.
My husband and I had a great tour which was made better with our tour guide Marsela. She was very knowledgeable, personable and kept us very engaged with her fun personality.
It’s a long day but totally worth it. It’s usually very hot so bring plenty of water and snacks. We also brought an umbrella to have some refuge from the sun. Our guide was very kind, funny and informational. Our favorite stop was lunch to help support the locals business. The food was amazing.
