This tour made sense from start to finish. We didn't have to organize separate tickets, food or transportation and that let us enjoy Chichen Itza instead of managing details. Yunchen was refreshing, our guide was the soul of the trip (shout out to Angel) and the whole day felt well put together. We don't usually take full itineraries, but this one felt like the smart way to see the main places.

Anna Helped us before the tour, Angel guided us through Chichen Itza and Ernesto made the ride feel safe and steady. That mix of online help and in-person care stood out. Cenote was the perfect moment to chill after the ruins. We liked that taxes were included. My favorite part was that each person seemed to have a different highlight, which says a lot about the tour. If felt like staff knew what travelers worry about and quietly solve it before it became an issue. Very recommended!
Anna from customer service checked our pickup details before the tour and guide us in the morning until safely on board. That small thing mattered because we were nervous about missing the bus. After that, the day unfolded easily: Chichen Itza, lunch, cenotr and quick look at Valladolid. Everything felt handled, not rused. The quick Valladolid stop was simple, but it gave us a small glimpse of everyday life outside the resorts. A beautiful small town we will visit later. Great and quick service from this company. Recommended!
This was an excellent tour. Our kids got into the tour when Angel, our "Mayan Guru" guide, asked them to look for animal shapes and symbols around Chichen Itza. Later at the cenote, they forgot all about being tired and went straight for the water. The included fees made it simple for parents too. That little symbol game turned into something they brought up again at the holtel later. 5 out of 5!
I don't know what else to say except you have to see these places. They're amazing, beautiful, historic... all of it. The stuff the Mayans built is just incredible. You won't regret going.
We stayed in the Cancun hotel zone and this tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Pickup was right on time at 6:15 am. We rode in a comfortable, air conditioned bus with restroom. The whole tour is around 12 hours, but it didn't feel too long. Our guide Miguel made the day great. He kept us engaged with interesting information about Mayan culture. Chichen Itza is absolutely incredible. It's one of those places you see in photos, but being there in person is on a different level. Visiting one of the New Seven Wonders of the World felt like a real bucket list moment. We also visited cenote "Yun Chen" that our guide said is newer on the route and not very crowded. That turned out to be true and it made the swim feel more relaxing. If you want a stress free experience, we definitely recommend this all inclusive tour. It covers fees, taxes and food, so you can just enjoy the day.
Our day at Chichen Itza with this company was amazing. What I liked most was that the tour really includes everything. You pay once and don't have to think about extra costs or surprise add ons. There were just a few stops during the day, so it never felt rushed. I traveled solo and still felt totally safe and comfortable with our guides "Tony" and "Daniel". They were friendly, fun and created a relaxed atmosphere for everyone on the tour. Mexican food lunch was superb. The spicy options were completely up to you. The gacuamole was especially good. The cenote was the biggest surprise. I expected it to be crowded but it was almost empty when we were there. Overall, I highly recommend this tour. It's easy, well organized and great way to experience Chichen Itza with no stress at all.
It was an awesome all inclusive tour with very knowledgeable guides, Samuel and Mayolo. We got picked up at a nice tour bus with A/C and usb charging at every seat. Check in once the guides got to our hotel was smooth. We were the second group picked up, and spent probably another hour and a half picking up everyone else. The tour starts at visiting the Mayan village and swimming in the Cenote which is very nice. Water is super glue and quite cold but acclimating is easy. There are spots to rent life jacket which is mandatory, and also locker rentals. Afterwards we went to Chichen Itza, it was awesome and the history is very interesting. It was quite hot and sunny so be prepared to bring hats/glasses and sunscreen. The breezes of wind made it bearable. The Vallaloid city was a quick 30 min stop before we went back to Cancun. The whole tour was very long. We were picked up at 6:50am and got back to our hotel at almost 9:30pm. On the way back, we stopped 30 minutes outside of Cancun, so the people who weren’t on the hotel “7” strip received a different transportation back to their pickup points. Overall, great experience and would recommend to anyone. I’ll definitely book again if/when I come back to Cancun
Lots of misinformation on your description of this tour. The tour was in a small van not a bus with a restroom as described. I was given 2 small bottles of water all day. No umbrellas at Chichen itza. I waited an hour for am transport. The tour guide was very friendly and the places were great but your description was much less than what I rcvd for $185.00
A fantastic way to explore Chichen Itza in a day, comfortably on a bus, they take care of everything for you. We had considered going on our own, but we changed our minds after seeing all the fees and expenses involved. This tour, which includes all taxes and fees, seemed like one of the best options for a small family like ours. Having an experienced guide like "Ivan" is key. We felt safe and well taken care of. Thanks for everything. Highly recommended.
Chichén Itzá tour from Cancún – brilliant day out overall Really well organised from start to finish and our guide was excellent — really knowledgeable and made the history genuinely interesting. Chichén Itzá itself is absolutely stunning and 100% worth seeing. Just a heads up though: it’s a very long day (around 15 hours round trip) and the minibus is quite cramped, so it can get uncomfortable, especially on the journey back. That said, everything ran smoothly, we had enough time for photos and exploring, and overall it was a great experience. Would definitely recommend it if you’re staying in Cancún.
I wasn’t too sure about this tour when I booked it because I thought my teen sons would be really bored. We had an amazing tour guide Tomas, through Xcaret, who was very engaging and informative from the coach journey and throughout the tour was so good and straightforward. We also visited the Canote.. this was an incredible place, very special and beautiful. Highly recommend this trip.
We arrived in Playa del Carmen eager to experience new things and do so in an adventurous way. As someone mentioned in the reviews, "The most beautiful places are in the Yucatan". This full-day trip didn't disappoint. Chichen Itza is magical, mystical and truly, without a guide, you'll have no idea what happened there. We had the best guide "Miguel". We were amazed by many things you don't see in videos or documentaries about the Mayans. In the cenote, we saw colorful fish with a snorkeling mask. The man-made architecture blended with the hand of nature makes this a truly wonderful place. Despite it being a peak season, each site is very well organized to avoid overcrowding. By the way, taxes and fees are already included!
We finally fulfilled our dream of experiencing a full day trip to see the Mayan city of Chichen Itza and other incredible places in the Yucatan such as the Xcayum natural pool and the city of Valadolid. Our guide David, the host, the driver and the customer service team deserve a 10/10. Everything is very well organized and you get exactly what you pay for. The Mexican lunch, the Mayan dancers, an authentic shaman and men in owl, jaguar and eagle costumes in the mayan style make this experience truly special. Tip: Arrange your dinner for when you're back (if you're staying in a hotel) because the restaurant might no longer be open by then. Overall, a great tour!
An unforgettable experience! Everything ran smoothly from start to finish, making it one of the highlights of our trip.
The trip felt rushed at the stops and the bus ride was way too long! We spent 14.5 hours away from our resort. The tour guide was learning English and it was her first day doing both English and Spanish. Kudos to her, but.she needs to remember to do the English version after the Spanish and slow down. Also, more background and explanation of what is being visited would have made it more enjoyable overall. It was nice, but the value for what we paid in USD wasn't there.
Great trip, wouldn’t come to Cancun and miss the Mayan wonder! However, trip was operated by a different company, “Baktun” and so perhaps other travellers should check them out directly. All taxes etc was good, didn’t need to pay additional fees; communication for pick up was great. Deluxe is not value for money, skip it. The biggest negative was the Mayan “village” it’s not, it’s a place the tour operator brings its coaches, has a store to sell tourists the usual souvenirs, and an add on chocolate room, read that as “another upsell room”. Too much time was spent here for what was a pretty poor lunch. For a long day it was something they could skip or strip down but would guess there is link between the tour operator Baktun and the owners of the “village” it was too Disney for me. That being said, the main event of chichen itza was perfect; guide was great, timing there was good. Cenote was also idyllic.
This was an incredible trip, for sure. All Inclusive and no taxes. The shaman blessing was a little strange for us but definitely interesting and added authentic feel. The Xcajum cenote is fantastic, the water is super refreshing and my wife was shocked when she found out how deep it was. Heads up, even on a cloudy day, the heat at Chichen Itza is no joke, so be ready for a little sweat time. Our guide guy Ivan, really know his job! We learned about obsidian adn ended up buying a nice figure for a decent price. The stop in Valadolid is quick but nice. A solid recommendation.
This was the most affordable, comprehensive and highest quality trip to Chichen Itza departing from Playa del Carmen. After doing a lot of research, we chose this one because it seemed the most realistic and trustworthy and we were not disappointed. The tour has moderate stops, including a Mayan village where we saw a shaman. We were deeply moved by this part of the experience. He spoke about seeing the energy of a couple who had health problems and it felt very genuine and insightful. Even though it was a shared tour, our guide Marcilino made us feel very special. He is a true expert on Mayan culture and you can feel his deep respect for his heritage. During the trip, there are many opportunities to buy souvenirs and handicrafts and we were able to appreciate the skill of the local artists. We really valued that at no point did we feel pressured to buy anything. The Mexican food at the buffet is well worth the price. It is much better value than what you would spend at a hotel restaurant. We had no complaints at all. It's a very well timed experience. It is a long but beautiful trip that definitely guarantees satisfaction. Chichen Itza is all inclusive without any hidden taxes or fees which we appreciated. The cenote was beautiful and the time in Valladolid, although short was just enough to explor the park, see the church and take photos.
This tour is already amazing and the whole staff who interacted with us, being Mayan descent is so special. But the team at Tourballoon are actual heroes! We left our Mayan calendars on the bus the night before our flight and their customer superstar "Anna Vega" performed a miracle to get them back to us. This company isn't just great; they're lifesavers!
Had a really great time on this tour. The guide Ivan is experienced and knows his stuff. Big plus: He shows you all the best places to get good pictures. Chichen Itza was the best of our trip!
This is hands down the coolest Chichen Itza All Inclusive tour you can take. Our guide Marcelino was extraordinary. Trip's long but worth it all. We would give this experience a thousand stars if possible.
Lilly wasn't just a guide, she was our honorary family member for the day! She made sure everyone from kids to grandma had an amazing time. If you book with this company ask for Lilly. She's a total superstar!
This is the 5 star experience you're looking for! The team (specially Maru and David) behind this trip are masters of detail. We enjoyed a feast at a gorgeous, authentic Mexican restaurant and swam in a beautiful Cnote that felt like our own private jungle paradise. Just be prepared, its hot out there and there are vendors in the site (not part of the tour). They have thought of everything to make the day feel completely seamless and special. The tour just stand out the big crowd, it's in a league on its own!
The tour bus was great! Nice and air conditioned. The beverages were a super bonus. The stops and locations were as explained. I feel like the trip would be more enjoyable is there were less places to visit and more time allowed at the locations. If you want to swim at the cenote, there is really only enough time to change, walk down, jump in, swim to one side and get out. The village was even less. This stop was not even worth the stop. It was amazing! The fountain, the dancers, the pop up vendors made us want to spend at least an hour or two, not 15 minutes. What can a person do in 15 minutes, especially if you don't know your way around?
Absolutely amazing trip. Whoever likes history must do this one. Beautiful Cenote, impressive Chicen Itza, great guides and very tasty buffet.
This was such a memorable and well organized adventure. Lilly, our guide, possessed deep well of knowleidge and a charming way of sharing it. The experience with the Mayan shaman was a truly special moment and cenote Saamal was magical. Our driver Alberto, was also excellent, navigating the roads expetly for a relaxing journey from beginning to end.
We had such a good time on this tour. Miguel was our guide and he made everything fun and easy to follow. He shared tons of interesting info without making it feel like a lecture. Big plus that they picked up and dropped us off right at the hotel. Everything was included, no surprise charges. Super good value for what you get!
The tour was good overall. One thing I will say is do not buy items from the visit to the Mayan town, they tell you it’s to help them but my gosh one bracelet 650 pesos equals to 35 US dollars is robbery. If you wait till you get to the ruines you get negotiate 3-4 of the same bracelets from 500 pesos. Yes thank you. The food could be better no flavor and sometime items like the flautas were hard as rock
What an incredible day! This tour was the absolute highlight of our trip. Our guide Lilly, was fantastic; so hilarious and entertaining, she made the whole experience so much fun. The rest of the team was just as great; the guide at the ruins was super passionate about Mayan history and our driver was a total pro. The stop at the cenore was pure magic! Be ready for a full day plenty of emotions.
We're from California and visiting Chichen Itza was at the top of our list since we landed in Playa del Carmen. Seeing it up close was something else, way more powerful than we imagined from the photos! But what really made this tour unforgettable was the experience with the Mayan shaman. He did a short ceremony and told us "our love was true and strong..." We were both kinda stunned. It felt so personal and powerful. Thjios wasn't just a history tour, it felt like the mystical journey for the two of us. Totally worth it!
Chichenitza was amazing, and really a marvelous site. It was hot and humid but the history, architecture the guides were great. Our tour guide explained everything about the history or the Mayan city and the sites were amazing.
Thought it was going to be another basic tour, but it totally surprised us. Chichen Itza was epic and the was Gustavo our guide explained made it super interesting. The was an extra fun with the ziplines at the cenote, that was great! Fast and friendly service all the time. They had everything under control, no confusion, no waiting around.
This was my first solo trip after losing 100 pounds, and I was nervous... Turns out I had nothing to worry about! Our guide Lilly checked on me often and made sure I stayed hydrated. I felt so welcome and comfortable. I enjoyed the ruins, did everything, and loved the delicious veggie food. So proud! Recommend it!
The experience was amazing. The tour guides were really nice. My family enjoyed the trip to the fullest. We learned so much about the Mayan culture
Great tour. Difficult to always understand the guides but they did their best. Loved the cenote, so cool!! Chichen Itza was a bucket list for me. Long day, prepare to be tired!!
It was too long.. 7am to 8pm. The bus tour guide spoke mostly Spanish and could hardly understand his English. It seemed very disorganized. The food was just OK. The cenote was cool and chichen itza was interesting. The two other stops I wish we skipped.
We took this to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and our tour guide, Lilly, made it extra special for us, knowing that was the case. We very much enjoyed Chichen Itza, the Mayan Village and the Shaman, he blessed and linked us up again under the Mayan God's names!
Thanks to Tourballon Travel Experiences, I didn’t just see one of the Seven Wonders of the World — I felt connected to it. I’m so grateful for the experience and can’t recommend them highly enough if you’re planning a trip to Chichen Itza!
It was a long full day of activities. Lot's to see. Excellent excursions to Tulum, Coba, the kuxkal cenote and Playa del Carmen. However, bring water and food for the morning, as the lunch is late, after 3pm
Good. 4.7 Stars. But listen, there is quite a bit of waiting at the beginning as the various mini-vans run around the City picking folks up; and finally depositing us all at one herding spot. That process took 2 hours (630 AM to 830 AM). My own travel time was say 30 mins. So the extra 1.5 hrs was waiting for other tourists. This should be expected, I suppose, but it could have been laid out in the ad. The guides were phenoms! Personable, authentic, funny, encouraging, informative and most importantly, professional. My 0.3 stars under 5 stars are strictly due to my waiting. Guides were: Alex, Luigi, Roberto, and...? Love them.
This tour really delivered. Chichen Itza was impressive as expected! Our guide Israel had a great vibe, informative without overloading us. The cenote stop was great, there you can take your lunch after the fresh dive and having cold drinks handed out on the bus made the ride way better. Lunch was tasty, the bus was comfy and the whole expereince felt well thought out. Would totally recommend if you want a stress-free way to see something epic.
Booked through TUI .Very early start 5 a.m so we missed all the crowds which was more than ideal.Expert guide, free audio guide in site.Water bottle gifted to each participant.Drinks on bus and fabulous food in the Cenote site.Full days tour, very well organised.60th birthday treat.Loved the swim and the ruins themselves.Highly reccommended.
Of course Chichen Itza was amazing as were the other stops. Only complaint was while guide spoke good English, his Spanish and English translations ran into each other so very hard to know what was going on most of the time. Other than that the guides were all very friendly and helpful
We planned Chichen Itza as the first place to visit once in Mexico, booking this trip was totally worth it! It includes fewer stops than others. Having all covered, like entry fees, drinks, food, taxes... turns it into a great value choice. It honestly exceeded our expectations. Mary from Tourballoon had been our guardian angel. We booked a bit out of time and she went above and beyond to secure our spots. We highly recommend this experience!
I gave this 2 stars purely for the misunderstandings. I love touring countries, but the pickup and drop off process was really long. The bus was freezing and when asked to time the air down it was a hard no. The guide was very sweet, but when we went to the different villages or tour the chichen itza, he dropped us off with a man who definitely was making things up and mixing up his history. I am not an expert and this was not a language barrier, the National Geographic website pretty much proved him wrong. With that, I toured the place on my own and read the various websites with my friends. The cenote was beautiful, but the Buffett was not worth it at all. The food was not good and it felt a bit dirty in there. Again, I get that it’s a totally different place and you can’t cater to everyone, but for the amount of money that I paid, it was not worth it.
Loved the guides and the pyramid experience was terrific, the staff on the bus were very attentive. An excellent excellent experience.
This was the best day of our vacation! My boyfriend and I were excited to explore the Mayan ruins on our first trip to Cancun, and Chichen Itza was beyond anything we imagined. Learning about its hidden tunnels and meaning behind the carvings was incredible. The cenote is like no other, though we wished more time. The buffet was a little spicy but worth every bite. Great value for an unforgettable experience!
The communication with operators was excellent but the tour assigned us into a majority Spanish speaking group, and your guide mixed language hard to understand!
Long day, as listed. Make sure to confirm pickup is available from your hotel. Great experience overall.
