I messaged the tour company directly but no one replied or addressed our issues. So I’ll post it here. we only got to our first stop at 12:30pm which is a long time since pick up was 7:20am. We returned to the hotel 11pm as we were the last stop. However our group encountered major issues with Ivan the tour guide. (I think that’s his name) honestly we didn’t even know his name. He lacked communication. In almost all of the stops he failed to give us a return time, therefore other guests on the bus with us were asking each other return time etc and no one knew because he didn’t say. This lead to a lot of scrambling. I know there’s a no water bottle policy at tulum however it would have been helpful if this information was provided before, meaning on the tour write up so we would have been prepared with the proper water. The sun was extremely hot and the walk was long, completely unbearable without water. Tulum was the most anticipated stop for me and I was highlight disappointed. Our tour guide looked rushed and uninterested. We were NOT given any free time in tulum. He brought us to the exit and told us to walk back or take the carts. I did not know that was the end of the tour and didn’t even get to explore properly or get good pictures. We were all disappointed. Coba and playa del Carmen were enjoyable. Altogether I think it’s a lot of a tour in one day but our guide kept saying “we have to run if we want to see” “there’s not enough time” “we need to rush” etc which just demotivated us entirely. Either the company needs to cut down on the length of time spent during pick up/ drop offs- and allocate set pick up/ drop off spots, or shorten the stops on this tour.

It was my second tour with the MycancunTour. The first few years ago was very good. This time on 14th.03.2024 the trip to Tulum, Coba...was terrible. We were taken at 6.40 from our hotel, transferem to Cancun and waited for the bus. The trip to Tulum should 90 minute as program said. We got to Tulum at 12.00!! Rest of the trip We spent in a hurry. There were 2 groups. English and Spanish. So the tourist guide in Tulum said almost nothing and he offered us a 40 minute free time. We learned nothing!! Visiting Coba? We were told. Just go and see... No historical info... The most of the day we spent in the bus and running in effort to see anything. Totally lack of organization. Lost money
The person mixes a lot of spanish with sparingly few english sentences which is hard and also incomplete. The operator didnt wait for us, when there was rain and we falled behind little with kids. even though the drive from cancun is 2 hours, the countless pickups made it 4 hours, which really stresses the tour to 14+ hours. I dont recommend this tour and operator
This is a good tour and value for the money. This is a tour combined for both Spanish ans English speakers and so for English speakers there is a separate English tour guide at Tulum. However for Coba there is no tour guide. We were able to get some information from the tricycle drivers who took us to the coba pyramid. The cenote was good and underground. Must try. I am not sure why people complained about the bathrooms but they were so much more better than the ones available close by. Tour guides were kind and helpful. Cons - Their pickup was 30 mins late from what they said, food was okay and with both Spanish and English tours on the same bus it was difficult to catch information.
Tour, Guide and driver was exceptional, however, we had to make over 4 stops. We started at 7:09 am at our hotel and it was 10:15 am when the bus picked up the final guess. I asked for a small group, but it ended up with a full bus load. So, we spent 6 of the 12 hours just on the bus pickup and drop off.
Took the tour on 2022/10/18 First, the downsides: 1) complicated booking experience. It took a while to get booking confirmation, I never managed to log in to the website to get the actual boarding pass, the contact phone number was hard to reach without access to a Mexican phone provider, and there didn't seem to be an easy way to book a trip on behalf of someone else. 2) The bathrooms along the way ranged from frankly appalling to barely tolerable. Also, while the breakfast on the bus was good, the included drink was a very unpleasant little juice box that tasted more of chemicals than juice. The upsides: EVERYTHING ELSE!!! Take this tour, guys! At least if you get the same guide. Pity I can't recall his name, starts on "A", but he was superb: an expert, no nonsense, charismatic, highly interesting, and genuinely interested in promoting Mayan culture and history, and sharing local knowledge. I'd marry him. (photo attached, from the back though) If you only have one day to experience the best, and relatively off the beaten track, Yucatan history and culture, this trip is a proper adventure: just enough time to marvel at the gorgeous remains of Tulum, a bit of exciting jungle hike/biking through Cobá, a scenic buffet by the Cobá lake, and a swim in a secluded underground cavern, plus a bonus amble through the crowded and fanciful Playa del Carmen main promenade at night. A tiny bit of everything, as one could spend a day doing each activity, but just enough to get the idea in limited time with a great tour guide who was really sensitive to giving our group the best experience of the place. Saved my whole vacation! Tl;dr: if you're pressed for time and don't have own transportation, THIS IS THE TOUR. I wish I had an opportunity to try other tours with this company. NOT A SCAM and in fact the OPPOSITE of a scam company. Unlike some others I could mention. Much love & thank you for the adverture! P.S. The booking process & the toilets did leave something to be desired though.
Give this one a skip. Bored tour guides (Hector was ok, Cristian seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else), a clear preference for Spanish-speaking travellers, a last-minute itinerary change (Muyil instead of Coba), and just too much time on the road and too little at the tour stops. The only plus was the restaurant for the lunch stop - good food and a great location.
Private tour with Poncho was excellent. He picked us up promptly and Tulum and Soba were easy and enjoyable. We had a private visit at a cenote - just us - which was really special. We highly recommend a private tour - it was worth the extra money. Poncho was a joy.
The overall experience was good. The pick up and drop off time were excellent. The attractions were fun and enjoyable.
Going to the cenote near coba, Juan Carlos and Alfonso were fantastic guides. Juan Carlos was very knowledgeable when we were going to the ruins
It was so much fun and a great time, you get to learn and do fun things like look at the ruins and stuff like that
Fun tour with our guide Poncho and our driver Jesus. They were very knowledgeable and lots of fun. Highly recommend this tour, lot of fun and lots of free time.
There was a slight hitch in the pick-up time, so we were off to a late start but I was able to contact customer service and it was all cleared up. We had a few pick-ups along to way but to be expected. The tour bus was a bit snug but fully airconditioned. The tour itself was really enjoyable. Our guide Cristian made kept everyone upbeat and engaged on the way to Tulum. Our guides Hector & Cristian gave us a brief history about Tulum before we all got free time to explore Tulum on our own. Cold water was provided every each major stop, Tulum, COBA & Choo-Ha Cenote. Our stop for lunch in COBA was a nice break and the food was very good. I was a bit disappointed that the Mayan Chocolate was replaced with a stop at a traditional Mayan village, Aldea Maya Xunaan Kab. There was no clear explanation as to why, but possibly due to our late start. The Mayan village was a short but interesting stop and a shaman blessing was offered to those who were interested. COBA was an amazing visit. Our guide Cristian explained clearly how to access the main pyramid at Nohoch-Mul - bike, pedicab rental or walking (approx 1 mile). We opted for the pedicab with was $8USD. This was actually a super fun and easy way to view the site and our driver Joseph made a few stops along the way so that we could check out several ruins. The final stop in Playa del Carmen was short but we managed to do a little bit of shopping before heading back to the bus and then back to our respective hotels. All in all, a great experience.
The tour was very informative although the operators did provide more detail in Spanish for the Spanish-speakers on the tour compared to the information provided in English. The operators had great attitudes even though it rained most of the day and they made sure we enjoyed our time despite the weather conditions. We stayed halfway between Cancun and Tulum and they were willing to pick us up and drop us off even though we weren't on their normal pickup route which was very generous. Consequently we missed out on the shopping experience at the end since our resort was before the Playa stop, but we actually preferred to skip that part due to the rain anyway so it was perfect for us.
This was an okay trip. The were a few tour guides on board but only one guide spoke any English and he didn't say a work until almost 3 hours into the trip (3 English speaking on board). Tulum was canceled the day before yet we didn't find out until the time we should have arrived there. Spent too much time at shopping opportunities instead of exploring and learning about Coba. No free water given.
Took this trip with my girlfriend and her father and we had a blast. The Mayan honey and cocoa experience really adds a nice touch to the coba ruins. The cenote is also amazing, not every day you can experience something like that. I recommend this tour.
The tour itself was pretty average. There was some confusion beforehand which was cleared up fine but still stressful. The part that detracted from the experience was the aggressiveness of the tour guide as far as guilting for tips and positive reviews. " Like right now folks, I mean right now can you log in and give a good review, This is very important. Are you going to do it? I don't see anyone logging in. Can you log in I mean now people! My boss is going to be very upset!" He was pretty demanding and I couldn't help but be irritated throughout the experience every time (which was a lot, like constantly) he talked about how they work for tips and they're supporting their families, or how we should buy things (Mayan Calendars, Jewelry, tips for this person or that person) because $20 isn't much to us but it means a lot to the people there etc. I couldn't help but think if you just did your job well, people would be happy to tip you. I honestly couldn't wait to get back and off the bus. The money I tried to put back into the small communities through purchasing jewelry etc felt good but honestly was way too expensive like higher than US prices. I left the experience feeling like everyone I encountered that day, was just trying to get my money. Definitely not a relaxing or enjoyable experience. The architecture and ruins were great though. Could be a positive experience with a different tour company.
Me and a couple family members took the tour to Tulum and Coba on January 17. All 3 of us absolutely loved it. The three tour guides (Roberto, Roberto, and Poncho) were great! They were funny and very informative. We travel a lot and go on many tours like this. This is definetly one of the best weve been on in large part because of the tour guides. If youre interested in this tour, i highly recommend going with these guys. Youll learn a lot, have a great time and will have plenty of time to take pictures in some unique and beautiful places.
A full day tour exactly what i was looking for. So much fun, learned so much on each stop and the tour guides were very informative and friendly. I highly recommend this tour, will definitely book yours with them again.
Excelent tour, it was awesome. Best tour ever!. Tulum and the cenote was perfect for my couple and I
You’ll spend the majority of this tour on the bus. Factoring in other people’s hotel pickups and drop offs, you’ll spend 3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening picking up/dropping off. From Cancun this is closer to a 15 hour commitment, again the majority being bus time. Once the pickup/drop off logistics are fixed this could be a good tour. The tour stops were average. It depends how much you like Mayan history. Swimming in the water hole was the most fun. Don’t decide on this tour by any of the advertised pictures and don’t pay more than $70 per person. One last complaint: We didn’t receive our hotel pickup time until after midnight, which ended up being 6:50am at the hotel lobby. You can imagine the chaos that creates, especially if you have kids.
We did the Tulum, Koba, & Playa del Carmen tour from Cancun and had an AMAZING time with Hector, Pedro, and Roberto. At both historical sites Hector was incredibly knowledgeable, and very personable! He made us laugh and blew our minds at the same time! I would highly recommend anyone to take this tour and ask for Hector because it truly is a wonderful time, ESPECIALLY if you're an English speaker! Other highlights of the trip included the blessing from a Mayan Shamaness and the lunch stop/cenote site. All proceeds from the souvenir shop go towards supporting the village in which the site is located and directly supports the community in which we are visiting. All of the Mayan staff were patient and explained their products thoroughly. Hector was great at translating for those who do not speak Spanish! The honey and chocolate products are organic and made by the village. Such a great way to give back to the community we were visiting. Muchas Gracias Hector, Pedro, y Roberto por todo!!!
Perfect price for the perfect service. Juan Carlos, Pedro, and Roberto picked us up at the hotel’s lobby then proceeded to pick up the other guests. We ended up with 4 groups (4 of us, a group of 4, 2, and then another 2). The mini-bus (aka 17 seaters passenger vans) was air-conditioned and locked at all times during our excursions. First stop was Tulum, and Juan Carlos guided us through the city’s ruins and explained some of the history of the buildings. We then had about 45 minutes to explore the place by ourself. Lunch followed after that at the outskirts of Coba. Food was 5 stars! A very delicious selection of rice, beans, and two different types of chickens. After lunch, we headed for the temple of Coba. I recommend paying the extra bit for the tricycle. It’s an 2.5km one way from the entrance to the temple, and let me tell you it is FAR! Get the tricycle! You’ll thank me. After the temple, we then headed to the last destination, Playa del Carmen. A nice shopping street. Half was luxury and upscale brands and the other a typical street vendors. Good day, good tour, overall amazing experience.
Pretty good tour considering how many things you are able to see in one day...but it was a very long day.
This trip was brilliant! We're so glad we booked with this group. Juan Carlos was an excellent and extremely knowledgeable guide for both English and Spanish speakers, and the whole team--Juan Carlos, Roberto, and Pedro--were kind, happy, and helpful all day. It IS a long day, but they make it worth it because you get to see so much in one day and it's fun the whole time! Especially unique was the lunch in Coba where we enjoyed a peek into local, contemporary Mayan culture and had the opportunity to eat authentic food and support local artists. Would highly recommend!
We had a last minute change to our itinerary so we started the day really hesitant.. our day ended up being great! Tulum was beautiful, the cenote was beautiful, the food they gave us was great and the shopping at the end was perfect. Also, our tour guides (I dont remember their names but one was Juan Carlos) were extremely friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable.
Definitely recommend this trip! We got to experience the Mayan culture and the food was amazing. The first stop was the Tulum archeological site which was beautiful. Then you head over to Coba to eat delicious food and try a bit of cacao. Following the included buffet style lunch, we headed to a beautiful temple and got to ride bikes! Following that we went to a beautiful cenote where we were able to swim. I recommend bringing a bathing suit and towel so that you can swim comfortably. We ended our day at Playa del Carmen for a pit stop and some light shopping. At the end, we spent the whole day doing a bunch of amazing things. Our tour guide Juan Carlos was great and I really had a good time with him. He was very knowledgeable about Mayan history and taught us a lot of cool things!
Juan Carlos is the best! Also Alfonso and Roberto are great! Highly recommend!! Sites were excellent. Timing was great at each stop.
The adventure was amazing. Carlos, Roberto and Alfonso were great. We ordered the adventure through Cancún discount and were very amazing, they helped us with everything we needed and did everything quickly. ( Výlet byl super. Byli jsme spokojeni. Personál byl taky úžasný Carlos, Roberto a Alfonso. Výlet jsme objednali přes Cancun Discount, mohu jen doporučit. Pomohli se vším, hlavně když jsme čekali na odvoz a měl zpoždění, vše vyřídili.) Rudolf and Gabriela from Czech Republic. 11.11. 2020
We got added to this tour super last minute when our original plans fell through and had an absolute blast. Roberto and Juan Carlos were our tour guides and were very knowledgeable and accommodating throughout the tour. Our driver Pedro was awesome as well, it was pouring rain for the majority of our excursion, but he got us to every destination safe and sound. The other great thing about this tour was that we beat the crowds to all of the attractions, so that was a definite plus. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to know and understand more about the Mayan culture of the Yucatan peninsula :)
Juan Carlos and his team were our tour guide and I must say they did a fantastic job. From the beginning to the end, they were very informative about everything especially about the Mayan Culture. We didn’t feel too rushed to go to the next location, we felt safe the entire time and despite the rainy weather, Carlos made sure we visited every city listed. I highly recommend them and I must say you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. Thank you guys for a great tour!!
I definitely loved Coba ruins! It was so much art in build into one masterpiece Definitely recommend
The best part was the cenote!! Water was cold but definitely tolerable. Make sure to pack a jacket for after the cenote because you will be freezing! Overall the experience was GREAT
Loved the Mayan tour as well as being able to swim in a cave. Those were my favorite parts of the experience.
The trip was amazing and our tour guide Juan Carlos was very knowledgeable on all topics. He gave us extra tips and facts to make sure we enjoyed everything.
All aspects of this tour were amazing. We started out in Tulum and it was gorgeous. We then travels to a Mayan restaurant for lunch. Before lunch, we received a Mayan blessing. The lunch was authentic and on the actual Mayan grounds. That alone was a cool experience. Afterwards we went to Coba, the Cenote, and Playa del Carmen. Juan Carlos was a great tour guide and gave a great history of the different locations. He was extremely knowledgeable and funny. Special thanks to Pedro and Roberto for the logistics and safe driving. We would highly recommend this team! Thank you!
Juan Carlos was our tour guide and he honestly made the experience a 10/10. There were no delays, confusion or being misled. We completed each activity and enjoyed every single place. From the history to the tasting at cacao to the pyramid to cenote swimming to everything. This experience was top notch, no complaints here.
I LOVED my tour!! Especially Juan Carlos, he was very energetic and funny throughout the whole trip and I still remember some of his jokes. Roberto & Pedro made sure we had the passes and the drive was nice and fast. I usually hate tours because they tend to get boring but for this tour I didn’t want it to end at all! Definitely recommend 10/10 for experience, excitement and uniqueness.
Juan Carlos, Roberto, Pedro were all very welcoming. Making the overall experience great. Juan Carlos was very informative about the Mayan culture.
The excursions were fun. The tour guides Juan Carlos, Pedro and Roberto were very accommodating and informative. The cenote was enclosed other than the walk through opening. Therefore there wasn’t natural sunlight shining in which was a downfall for me personally.
Great tour with a good number of stops. Informative and well organized. Tour guide was helpful and knowledgeable.
My best friend and I went on this excursion, and we both absolutely loved it! We are single women, and felt so safe the entire time. Our guides and driver were fantastic! Carlos was our main tour guide, and he was extremely knowledgeable on each of the locations we visited- especially Tulum. It was as if we had an archeologist and historian there with us. The entire crew that guided us was so fun, and would talk about anything with us and joke around. I feel as if we had just enough time at each location and it helped us narrow down if we wanted to return to any of those spots and return at a later date on our trip. Lunch was so quiet, peaceful, and absolutely delicious!!! The most authentic food we had on the trip. Overall it was perfect day and experience!
Spectacular service and tour. We went with Juancarlos, Robert and Pedro and they were a super amazing Crew. Will definitely recommend them. They were so patient and always describing everything we saw. The ride was pure comfortable and clean. A lot to see! So come prepare to walk a lot but it’s definitely worth it! I would definitely use them again for any future tours. Thank you guys! Amazing, spectacular and you will never forget
Wonderful trip with awesome guides, Juan Julio, Luis, Ivan, Elo, who were all very informative and friendly. I would definitely recommend doing this while in Cancun as you get to experience a lot of awesome history. Great trip all the way around!
This tour included a visit to Tulum, Coba Ruins, Playa Del Carmen and Cenote swim. I highly recommend this tour. Our tour guys were very knowledgeable and friendly. Ask for Luis, Juan Carlos, Ivan and Leo the driver of the bus.
This tour was great. It was very informative and entertaining. Our guides Juan Carlos, Ivan, Leo and Lois did a great job. We would highly recommend taking this tour. Thanks for a wonderful day!
I was traveling in Cancun with my girlfriend and we went to downtown. In the market, a nice man approached us and offered us a great tour, 4x1. His name is Cesar. We decided to purchase it immediately. Next day they were on time at the hotel . The tour was great, we got to know the Mayan culture! We went to Tulum, amazing and magic place. Coba was amazing, we had Mayan lunch, it was delicious. The tour is very well prepared, especially if you get the plus option. Highly recommended. Leo is great driver. And Juan Carloa and Luis are just amazing and funny, they are definitely great tour guides. I recommend this tour
This tour is poorly organized.First off you don't know exactly where you are going to meet until you receive an email right before your day scheduled. Then you have to arrange to get to the location yourself as they don't pick you up. Then a tour guide will call your name and on our case he told us do not get on the 2st bus behind me .Make sure you get on the 2nd bus.So we did. Guess what, wrong bus as we found out 1 hour later.Tried to contact the listed agency that was given in the email,no answer. So we did not get the 6 hour tour and was stuck an hour out of area. Contacted the given company and was instructed to send a reply in the confirmation email explaining what happened and request for refund. Our reply was from another listed company name and the representative stated in email "you were a no show we only picked up 5 people from there and we only sent 1 bus there? Real good reply Don"t you think like why were we a no show? Would not refund money even though the guide was the reason we missed the bus.Two differential companies listed for same tour who is responsible? Would not recommend this company.
I booked tour from hotel it was fabulous. Beautiful 3 time visit to Tulum. Then on to beach great beers and turtles. Then on to Lunch buffet fabulous food and finally Grand Finally COBA. Beautiful site , hired the rickshaw driver worth the pesos. The climb to the top and view amazing. My legs were killing all of us for 3 days but worth it. The area Rocked the Coba pyramid. Fun guides and well spent day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS.
This tour was not well organized and not what we expected at all, when we booked. So apparently we booked the basic package...but we had no idea there was a basic or a plus package option when we booked. To begin our van was 40 minutes late to pick us up, once we got in the van the guide told us that we were the last stop...yet no other tourist were in the bus with us. We proceeded to pick up another couple at a different resort. The guide told us that we would be meeting the others (who paid for the tour) at Tulum, which was our first stop of the day. At first we didn't understand why they didn't pick us up at the same time, as the others... but it became clear once the guide proceeded to tell us that we had purchased the basic package and gave us the option to purchase the plus package at an extra cost of $25 USD per person. We decoded not to get the plus package because the only difference between the two were unlimited drinks throughout the day (water, pop and beer), and the included bike rental at Coba to get from the parking lot to the Nohoch Mul pyramid. The couple we were with decided to rent the bikes and my husband and i decided to walk. when you start heading towards the pyramid the walkers and bikers share the same path and eventually there are separate paths for the bikers and those who chose to walk. We met the other couple at the top of the pyramid and they told us that the bike path does a detour and we ended up getting there almost at the same time. Once we got to Tulum, the guide gave us a meeting point at a restaurant and a specific time where we would have to be back by. He did not come with us to explain the different buildings and temples to us like a guide should do...but instead he dumped us with another guide on site who had already started his tour. Once, we were done we headed back to our meeting point, and we were instructed by our guide to climb aboard a big coach bus (not our initial van) where we finally met with the other travelers. You also don't have nearly as much time as indicated in the itinerary, and we felt rushed at every activity. Needless to say we don't regret visiting these beautiful sites but I would not recommend booking with this company due to the lack of organization and timing of activities. I'm sure if we had purchased the "plus package" we would have enjoyed ourselves a little more and have a better experience. If your really adamant about booking the tour with this company please do yourself a favor and make sure you book the plus package!!
