Food and tour were AMAZING! A big thank you to Romero go the taking us around and being so accommodating! 1000/10 recommend!!
We were taken in a van with a driver who did not speak at all…..no English, no tour/ no history facts.Just got out at each spot and was served tacos. We didn’t know what to do or if we had a choice in ordering because our driver did not speak or instruct us. Tacos were good but we could have just ubered to a few places just as easily.
Ramiro was a great guide and took us into the neighborhoods where we could sample the local cuisines representing various regions of Mexico. It was both very informative and really delicious! We were the only Gringos in the places we visited so we knew we were getting the real foodie experience! Thanks Ramiro!
The guide and the food and restaurants were great. Polite, professional and friendly. However, the tequila tasting was horrible. Soon as you exit van they take you to jewelry shop and pressure you to buy. The tequila tasting they tried to swindle me. My daughter like strawberry flavor and I coffee. Wanted 1 each small bottle. Gave me different bottle than the one tasted. I questioned the guy he days sant thing they just don't make the small bottle with the same label. The one she tasted had nice label trimmed in silver, raised and pretty blue. They packaged white and black label. We continued to walk through the store and guess what I found? Small strawberry flavored in the amalgamation bottle with blue and silver label. They say it's discounted for us and they tried to swindle us. Also had a gift shop, we've been in Cancun three days, we don't need anymore souvenirs. The guy from shop spoke to our guide and next thing you know guide is asking us if we wanted to go back to goofy shop. If they got rid of that harassing and scamming tour it would be a great tour.
Jackie and Mauricio really showed us a good time. Loved trying tacos from different regions and each one was unique and very authentic. The tequila was a plus! Great way to spend Thanksgiving!
Was not good at all the tacos didn't have any flavor the drinks were watered down i didn't eat one whole taco and I asked for an englush tour guide and my guide barely spoke english which made it even more difficult total ways of my money and I've been in 2 other taco tours which were great I shouldn't have tried something new
I definitely recommend this tour. I went with my husband and our 10 year old daughter. Our tour guide was so nice (I believe his name was Oswaldo?), he truly took great care of us and ensured a wonderful experience. You need to show up starving, because you’ll leave absolutely STUFFED. By the last two stops, I could only try a few bites of the tacos because I was so full. It was great to see some of the local culture, and every taco we tried was nothing short of incredible. We started with 2 different fish tacos at the first stop (WOW! These were so fresh and delicious), sopas on the best blue corn tortillas at stop # 2 (you have the choice of beef or pork and I highly recommend the pork over the beef!) stop # 3 was a choice of carne asada or chorizo tacos (we all picked one of each) and at the last stop we tried authentic birria with a delectable consume, and were even allowed to make our own tortillas!! (Great experience for our daughter). We were even offered churros at the finish of stop 3 but we just couldn’t fit any more food in our stomachs, knowing we still had more tacos to try. Each restaurant included amazing homemade salsas, soft drinks, bottled water, horchata, really any drink you wanted (besides alcohol - this would cost extra). I do, however, want to point out that the first stop on the tour, the “tequila tasting” is actually just a stop at a gift shop where they pressure you to buy jewelry and other souvenirs. You do get to taste as many tequilas and mezcals as you would like, but you’ll be pressured to make a purchase after. I didn’t see any other reviews mention this, so I wanted to forewarn anyone thinking about booking. Despite the unexpected start to the tour, we were overall very very VERY happy that we booked this one. 10/10 experience. If you love tacos, you won’t want to miss this!
Excellent service, amazing food with a history of it, punctual, very personable. 20/10 recommend. The food is what you want when you come to Mexico. I would highly recommend this tour. Ramiro Santos is wonderful. Go hungry!! The tequilas are not your average either, learned a lot and tried many new things.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an AMAZING time on our food tour in Cancun with Ramiro S.! From start to finish, he made the experience fun, authentic, and full of flavor. Each stop offered something delicious and unique — from local tacos and traditional dishes to hidden gems we never would’ve found on our own. Ramiro was incredibly knowledgeable about the food, culture, and history of Cancun, and his passion really showed throughout the tour. He made everyone feel comfortable and included, and by the end, it felt like we were exploring the city with a friend. Come hungry, because by the end you’ll be in a food coma — but it’s so worth it! 🌮🇲🇽 If you’re visiting Cancun and want to experience real local food (not just the tourist spots), this tour is an absolute must. Thank you, Ramiro, for such a memorable and tasty experience!
Food was delicious. Ramiro Santos was really helpful and amazing. He did an amazing job and guided us appropriately. Highly recommended for those who want to experience authentic Mexican cuisine. :))
I had some much fun I recommend this experience to everyone phenomenal staff Romero & Alverto were the absolute best! Don’t second guess just do it!
10/10!! great experience/spots and so much fun. Really fulfilling and tasty, so go on an empty stomach to be able to finish. Our tour guide Abbi was very kind, his english is really great easy for tourists like myself to communicate with. Gave interesting facts about the places and food and also was kind enough/thoughtful to open the door everytime. Amazing service! Would recommend him and this tour.
If you’re visiting Cancun and want to experience the real local flavors, this taco tour is absolutely a must-do. This was my third time in Cancun, and normally I just stay inside the resort, but I’m so glad I ventured out this time. I felt extremely safe the whole night and got to try some of the most incredible tacos of my life. Our guide Abbi was AMAZING – funny, entertaining, and super knowledgeable. He communicated so well with the staff at every stop, kept us laughing, and made sure everyone knew which salsa was mild, medium, or spicy (lifesaver!). He truly made the experience special. We visited 4 different taco spots, and the portions were very generous. At each stop, you typically get two tacos or one larger specialty item (basically equal to two tacos), plus a soft drink. Seriously – COME HUNGRY. It’s a lot of food in the best way possible! First stop: Pescaditos -Two incredible fish tacos: one with soft shell & fried fish, one crispy shell. -Highlight: The fried fish taco – I’m STILL thinking about it! Second stop: Los Parejitas -My fiancé and I tried tongue, tripe, pastor, and carne asada tacos. -Highlight: The tongue and tripe – first time ever trying them, and they were delicious! Third stop: Los de Asada -Famous for their spicy kastakan tacos, plus we sampled carne asada and longaniza. -By this point we were getting so full that I had to wrap one up to take with me! Final stop: Los de Jalisco -Known for their incredible birria tacos. -My fiancé had the massive quesobirria, while I got two taco birrias (and wrapped one up!). -The birria broth (consomé) is TO DIE FOR – the perfect finish to the night. Overall, this tour was an absolute highlight of our trip – 100/10. Tons of food, authentic local flavors, and an unforgettable guide. I will definitely be doing this tour again, and I hope you all get the chance to experience it too!
We had such an amazing private tour—just me and my two 13-year-old twins, and it was fun from start to finish! We visited four incredible taco spots, each serving something different and delicious: fish, pork, steak, and barbacoa. Our guide was fantastic, sharing the stories behind each taco and what made them special. We learned a lot and ate even more—there was so much food, we’ve got leftovers for tomorrow! One of the highlights was when the kids got to make their own tortillas at one of the restaurants—such a fun hands-on experience! We wrapped up the night at a lively local festival with sweet treats (we went for churros, of course), plus entertainment, shopping, and more. Our driver even made a couple of extra stops just for us, which was super thoughtful and made the evening feel even more personalized. All in all, it was a great night of family fun. Highly recommend!
The Al pastor tacos 🔥🔥! Shoutout to Tristian And mezcalita -Abbi is the GOAT too! He has all the good recommendations.
The taco tour is honestly 10/10. Abbi was our tour guide, super friendly and informative. He took us to 4 different locations and with each one the food elevated. He is easy to talk too and he let us know what is included for the tour with each stop. One recom i would say is make sure you don't eat to much before because with every stop the tacos got more delicious and filling.
This was hands down one of the best things we did on our trips to Cancun! Every place had a payed back vibe felt safe. The food was excellent the tour was smooth and our tour guide was awesome! Abbi was our guide! I 1000% recommend doing this!
Abbi did our taco tour and he was very funny and told us a lot about the local areas. His driving was very good at driving we felt safe. The tacos he took us to were very good and had all kinds of meat choices. Make sure you are hungry before your trip. Maybe skip lunch or have something light. There is A LOT of food to eat. Very well worth the money
Amazing tour and food and our guide Abbi was absolutely amazing! Pointed out sites answered all of our questions and kept us very entertained!
Abbi was a great driver and host for the Ultimate Cancun Taco & Street Mexican food tour. The four spots visited gave us authentic Mexican food. A picky child definitely approved. She ate/tried fish, tripa, lingua, sirloin, and birria tacos without a protest. Shout to Taqueria Los de Jalisco, Pescaditos las torres, Los de Asada Taquerias, and Taqueria Los Parejitas Panaquire for the great food and experience. We got back to the resort singing SpongeBob's best day ever song!
Arrive with an empty stomach. The food is more than filling. Could not eat it all. I felt like a stuffed turkey.
Wonderful taco 🌮 🌮 tour tonight! At every location the taco was delicious! We’re SO FULL, had to bring dessert home! Fun education on the history of ‘the taco’, and all the difference kinds from the many regions of Mexico. Our Driver ~ Alberto, and our Guide ~ Julian, we’re amazing! We felt very safe and were comfortable the whole trip. Highly recommend.
Abbi was amazing, on time, very informative, friendly, down to earth and made our tour memorable also great food. This tour was a 10/10 and would definitely recommend. The fish taco was so good and my top favorite 💯 please book as you won't be disappointed and Abbi was the Best tour guy ☺️
Are driver Abbl was fun and told us about the area and recommend the best tacos. He was very knowledgeable about the area and told us some history.
All the tacos were good and our tour guide Abbi was excellent and well versed in the various restaurants as well as the local area. He also made sure that everyone had a good experience, my sister for instance does not eat pork but one of the places specializes in pork tacos so he made sure that they had something she could eat. All in all he was an excellent tour guide for an excellent tour.
I booked this trip four-five months prior to heading to Cancun and did my best to try and keep in contact with the company to make sure everything was still operating as usual. The week of the tour the company assured me everything was fine JUST to cancel on me last minute ( less than 24 hours before the tour). They then called me to try and get me to change to a completely different tour that I don't need and can't make it to. The operator on the phone hung up on me when they realized I wasn't gonna " upgrade" to another tour. Would highly recommend you look else where for Taco tours if you don't want to scramble last minute.
This tour was amazing! Noah and Daniel were exceptional and we definitely want to see them again. Booking was easy for a private tour of 9. Our only gripe was that our hotel wasn’t listed as a pick up option. We had to pay $50 to go two miles down to another hotel to meet the tour. Thankfully, they dropped us off at our hotel once the tour was over. Each food stop was near the other so by the time we got settled in the van, we were at the next stop. You should go on the tour hungry because we were so full after the first stop! We would have liked to taste a variety of Mexican dishes. We only tried different types of tacos. If you don’t love tacos, this isn’t the tour for you. However, we did have hot churros for dessert. They were to die for! All in all, the service we received from each stop was amazing, the food was amazing, and Noah and Daniel were exceptional. We had a 50th birthday celebration and two of the stops sang happy birthday! We hope to do this tour again on our next Cancun vacation.
I had to email them several times and never heard back. They did not show up to pick me up, so I'm giving them one star because I'm forced to give a star otherwise it would be zero stars. It might be a good tour, I have no idea because they did not show up. On a good note Viator did give me a full refund.
Very good food at all of our stops. We never would have found these local restaurants on our own. Our guide was very friendly and helpful
The food was great, and José made us feel really comfortable during the whole experience. He was funny and not afraid to answer any questions. 10/10 would do it again with José.
Jose was a great host and the restaurants were amazing and so good. The culture of the Mexican cuisine was felt and tasted at each place and everyone was so beautiful and nice.
I would definitely recommend this taco tour. Jaime the driver and Oso were extremely nice and accommodated my group and I very well. The tacos were all delicious. Please go hungry so you fully enjoy the tacos. We were stuffed by the 2nd stop nonetheless enjoyed each taco!
Jose Domingo and Abi were great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was amazing. My boyfriend and I had a lovely time.
We were given a pick-up time at our hotel and told to be at the hotel entrance 15 minutes early. About 25 minutes before the pick-up time, the hotel staff called our room to let us know that our tour was waiting for us. We scrambled to get ready and rush downstairs. It was nice that they were not late, but 25 minutes early is a bit too early. The tour was supposed to be in English, but as both my wife and I spoke Spanish we indicated that we were comfortable with having the tour in Spanish, so we cannot comment on the English skills of the tour guide. My wife and I were the only people on the tour, and they had a driver and the main tour guide. We had a large van all to ourselves. The main tour guide talked non-stop and was doing his best to never have a quiet moment. He was, perhaps, a bit intrusively attentive and enthusiastic (but maybe that was because we were the only ones on the tour and he was trying very hard to keep us happy). Because we had a lot of experience with Mexican food, as we have lived in Mexico, I would not characterize the food as anything unusual for us. For someone not acclimated to Mexican food, the tour may seem like it is a novel food experience. It was good Mexican street food. We went to three or four places, all in close proximity to each other in the downtown area. At each place we would get a small item of food (a tasting taco or something similar). Afterward, they took us to a small outdoor nightly fair area to walk around the stalls and vendors. It was a pleasant evening. For someone unaccumstomed to Mexican culture and food, it would be a great, novel experience.
Osvaldo and Hugo made sure my wife and I had a safe and fun trip across four different local street taco restaurants in Cancun. Hugo was knowledgeable about the restaurants and made recommendations on what to order and what’s best to order from each restaurant. Fish tacos were amazing and chorizo tacos were also really good. Other taco places were worth the trip. Make sure to come hungry because you will be bursting by the end of the trip.
Our tour guide was Osvaldo and our driver was Hugo. Honestly, the BEST taco tour. This was my first time trying this and osvaldo and Hugo were very knowledgeable. I appreciated that it was just my friend and I on the tour with the guides. Made it more personable and welcoming. The tacos were really good and fresh. Osvaldo tended to our dietary restrictions and had different options for us to substitute. We were also able to make tortillas at one of the restaurants!! If y’all gonna do a taco tour, do this one!
Oswaldo and driver Ricardo were great, super friendly with great personalities. I recommend this food tour if you are looking to eat real authentic Mexican food. You get a bang for your buck and of course like the other reviews mention make sure you go hungry!!
Sadly the street food consisted of 4 types of tacos, I’m certain there is much more to street food that that. Portions were good and flavourful, soft drink options were varied to. The most enjoyable was our third venue where we had a beef/goat broth and a filled taco to dip in to it. I wouldn’t recommend this as it was too repetitive.
Tour guide was kind and very accommodating (I am vegan while my family is not). Food was very good.
The tacos were decent, but overall, the experience failed to impress me. Our tour guide, Jerry, lacked professionalism. Despite the description stating there would be five stops, he mentioned only four. When I inquired about the missing stop, he seemed confused and unprepared. Eventually, we reluctantly made a quick visit to the fifth place after I insisted on it. However, our driver parked the car while we waited inside, and Jerry hurriedly fetched us some churros. Unfortunately, the churros were underwhelming and seemed like an afterthought. I believe this tour could benefit from some improvements, and I intend this review to provide constructive feedback for the team. Our driver was friendly and fulfilled his duties effectively. However, if the overall quality remains the same, I would only recommend this tour to individuals who desire a glimpse of downtown but feel apprehensive about exploring it independently.
All of the locations had delicious tacos. Jose was friendly and informative He even ensured our vegan guest had options !
They send you confirmation a few days before stressing that you should be waiting outside 10mins before pickup scheduled time and that the bus can only wait 5mins for you so as not to through off the timing of event as well as other pick ups. Fine, we were there waiting up to 20mins past the time they give. Called the driver number which they provided, no answer. Called the office who indicated that they would try to reach the driver and get back to us. Driver eventually showed about 30mins past pickup time, no apologies given. Lila the tour guide was very pleasant and informative. She gave us the history of the individual tacos and explained how and when it's usually eaten etc. The tour desciption on Viator says that it's 5 stops however we only did 4. We got a good taste of the popular local tacos. Side note: If you a vegetarian/pescatarien, this might not be the best for you as my friend said only 2 of the 4 places were good for her. She had to have veggie/cheese quasadias at 2 places that did not offer fish/veggie taco options.
Tacos and guides were great. We chose hotel pick up and we were picked up at 6:30 pm which made for a late night. Pick earlier time if you go. Did not get back until 10:00pm. Only made three taco stops. Not five. Did not stop at El Rincon de los Antojos or Parque de las Palapas
That was absolutely amazing experience from my pick up in the hotel and being fully staffed with authentic delicious food. Jerry made out trip even more pleasant telling some stories. I visited all these local smallish places where you can see only locals, means food is great. And it was, I Luis such a delicious drinks. I fell in love with seafood tacos totally. Definitely recommend
Great food, great tour operator. We tried taco's that we have not eaten before, ourfaves were the sopas and Al Pastor
The food was authentic and delicious and we wouldn’t have found places on our own! It was easy and fun way to spend an evening. We were in a touristy area and this allowed us have a more local experience
This tour was disappointing because although the website stated they could accommodate vegetarians, 2 out of the 4 restaurants we visited did not have a veggie option so I had just guacamole at the first restaurant. If they cannot accommodate, they should just state this up front and I could have avoided this tour. The food that I was able to eat was good and my friends enjoyed their food.
Would give this tour 10 stars! What an amazing experience! An excellent way to spend an evening and sample some fantastic food! Lila and Richardo were knowledgeable and gracious, sharing the history of the area, the food and the culture.
This was a great experience. Tomas is awesome!!! He was so kind. Tacos were delicious. Take this tour!! Worth it and so fun.
