Cancun Private Driver

Booking a private driver (hi Tim!) was one of the best decisions of our trip! I was traveling with my mom and sister, who both have mobility limitations, and he thoughtfully tailored the day to their needs, especially my mom’s activity tolerance. We started with coffee at a wonderful French-style café in Cancun, visited the beautiful Santuario María Desatadora de Nudos, and enjoyed the glorious, easily accessible Cenote Cristalino. We then headed to Playa del Carmen for a delicious lunch and some souvenir shopping before Tim shared his favorite beach spot, Playa Delfines. His roomy transit van was comfortable and stocked with water, juice, and soda, and his friendly, chatty personality made the whole day even more enjoyable. What really stood out was his care and flexibility: he offered great suggestions and helped us enjoy a full, memorable day at a pace that worked for our family. We used Tim’s company last year for our trip to Chichen Itza and it was an easy choice to get in touch again this year to head to Sian Kaan and San Actun Cenote. Time was an absolute delight to work with, making our trip a truly enjoyable experience. We booked him for 12 hours. His flexibility with scheduling allowed us to visit all the sights we wanted, and his communication skills were top-notch – always responding promptly and even making an effort to connect with us by phone to discuss our itinerary. The transportation was comfortable, with plenty of room for our group of 14 in the van, and he even provided a car seat for our toddler.

I had a spare day before travelling out, so booked with Tim for transfers to and from Chichen Itza. Tim was great: friendly, good communication, delivered exactly what was promised. Highly recommended.

We go to cancun twice a year we have used a different company for years but over the years their price has doubled so we started to research other transportation companies. We found this company on fb and i used what's app to talk to the owner directly. He was quick to respond, reasonable pricing, and was great communicating pick up and drop off times with us. We had a great experience and will use them in the future.

I rarely take the time to review services, however on this occasion Tim was fantastic as our driver for the day, giving great local recommendations for places to eat, and taking us to this amazing Cenote which we would not have otherwise found. Brilliant day, and cannot recommend Tim enough for the full day private driver service. We had a great day. Tim contacted me to plan our day, giving us advices and keeping in contact up to our tour day. He booked the most fantastic and know’edgeable guide for Chichen Itza, sharing his Maya culture and history. Absolutely loved it. Felipe our driver was fantastic, also giving us useful advice when we asked and he took us to a great restaurant for our lunch. We fell totally safe the whole day (both in and out of the car) which was very important to me as I was travelling alone with my 16 years old daughter. I fully recommend the experience.

Even for a planner like me, finding the right transportation and private tour guide can easily become overwhelming given all of the options available, as finding the right choice can truly make or break a trip, since often times the driver is the very first impression you and your family will get of your destination. So, I spent weeks and weeks researching all of the five star options across various platforms and at the end of the day decided on Teve Transfers and Tours, and spoiler alert....they don't just set the bar for first class five star service, they ARE the bar! Leading up to our arrival, Tim did a tremendous job of clear and consistent communication to ensure that we were aligned on a custom itinerary that would meet the needs of our family (myself, wife, 21 year old stepson and 80 year old father in law). He was fantastic at providing his thoughts and insights into the itinerary and made it clear that this was our trip and we could pivot or customize it at any time, which was a welcome relief, as many private drivers stick to a cookie cutter rinse and repeat itinerary that allows for little to no customization, but that was not Tim and Teve Transfers at all, as they were 100% flexible every step of the way. Airport pickup by Felipe was seamless, as the transportation was on time, clean, the driving was safe and the customized personal touches like providing us with a cooler full of beer, water, sodas and snacks was just another example of how Teve Transfers and Tours goes above and beyond the typical private driver service to ensure you feel special each step of the way. Our adventure day a few days after arrival at the resort was centered around a trip to Chichen Itza, as this had been on my father in law's bucket list for years. Tim took us to various magical places along the way and had no issues pulsing in bathroom breaks for my father in law. Tim also took tons of pictures for us along the way and showed us local sights that we would have never found on our own and that you wouldn't find on most standard tours (believe me, I checked out tons of competitors and most of their itineraries were bland and generic in comparison!). Tim was generous enough to accompany us to a local market to negotiate deals on fresh fruit and local snacks, and also ensured we were taken care of at a local restuarant, including surprising my father in law with a free dessert and musical arrangement by the staff at the end of our meal to celebrate his 80th birthday. This my friends is what I mean by Teve Transfers and Tours not just setting the bar but BEING THE BAR! Before arrival at Chichen Itza, TIm took the time to set up a local tour guide for us and made sure we were set up with no issues. We were at Chichen Itza for around 3 hours and when we were done, he was right there at the entrance waiting for us without issue, once again demonstrating his reliabilty and commitment to customer service. The drive back to the resort after the long day was nice and smooth with no issues and on our last day, Tim came to pick us up for our ride back to the airport, again on time with great conversation and left us feeling like we were saying goodbye to a new friend at the end of our time in Mexico. Again, I get it, finding the "perfect driver" can definitely feel overwhelming, especially for super planners like me, who want to ensure every detail is taken care of so that things go off without a hitch. If you want to avoid large crowds of tourists and strict fast-paced schedules, this 12 hour driver is the service for you. Our friendly and accommodating driver picked us up early to beat the tourist rush at chichen itza, recommended a great lunch spot in the middle of Valladolid, and found the perfect cenotes for us to explore after. Everything went at the exact pace we wanted, allowing us to stay longer where we wanted and shorter when we were ready to move on. The whole experience was relaxed and stress free (very important to make a long day easy) knowing that we had the freedom to choose our next destination and weren't on a time crunch to meet a bus schedule. Well worth the price and an absolute must to make the most out of your excursion day on vacation.

Tim was recommend through someone that we knew. He kept us informed of pick up times, and things we needed to bring on the trip. Tim kept in touch before we came to Mexico and a day before the trip. He picked us up from our hotel promptly, and throughout the journey, was very informative and helpful. We visted Chichen Itza and a Cenota Both a must see whilst in Mexico. We stayed in the riveria Maya side of Mexico, and it is worth noting that as you cross the border to Chichen Itza the time zone changes.

Since it was our honeymoon, he went above and beyond to make it extra special — from taking us to a beautiful restaurant for lunch to surprising us with chocolates. We had such a great time & were very happy with our experience. We booked a private 12 hour driver for our family of 4. The price was a little over $400 and was well worth it. We could have fit up to 8 passengers in the van. We had done a group tour in the past to visit some of the same places last year, but did not like the restrictions of being stuck with a large group and on a specific schedule & were much happier with this private ride. We were able to visit chichen itza, Oman cenote and go to a restaurant for dinner. Tim reached out to me shortly after booking to get an idea of what our desired itinerary was & gave us some great suggestions. Philippe was our driver & was wonderful. He was kind and patient with us. He shared tips with us at each location and even stopped multiple times for us to use the bathroom on our longer ride. 🤣 we would absolutely book with them again!

The tour we took with Tim was so amazing! I celebrated my 50th birthday that day and Tim made sure it was very special and memorable! On our tour, we visited the Coba and Tulum ruins, experienced a sacred Mayan blessing from a shaman in a cute Mayan village, and swam in a magical cave cenote. It was the perfect birthday experience! I can’t thank Tim enough for that! He not only helped with the planning by providing us with great ideas for places to see, including an amazing cenote, but was also a fun, knowledgeable and considerate driver. He even surprised us with a box of chocolates for my birthday! We booked 2 separate days with Tim. First, we did the Chichen Itza area and the 2nd day we did Tulum and the area. For both days, having your own private driver opened up a lot of flexibility and unique experiences. We were able to arrive in Chichen Itza earlier than the big tour groups so it wasn’t as packed when we arrived. Note that there’s a small extra charge with the early pick up. Tim provided excellent recommendations for restaurants that we wouldn’t have had a chance to taste in a bigger tour group. I highly suggest booking with him to secure specific days and then plan your itinerary afterwards. Tim was good about contacting me as soon as I booked, and we worked out an itinerary based on my preferences and his myriad of suggestions. Don’t forget to get extra pesos as you’ll need it to pay for tolls and parking at the various sites.

We hired Tim as our private driver for a full day from Cancun, and it was one of the best decisions of our trip. We had the full 12 hours at our disposal and visited Tulum – Mayan ruins, the wooden sculptures, the Cenote Club Vesica and Playa del Carmen. Everything went absolutely stress-free. We weren't quite sure what we wanted to do as it was our first time. We have two girls ages 7 and 8. Tim made tons of suggestions and we had a full day that couldn't have been better. Our kids will never forget how much stuff we did. He knew all the locals and we went to all the great places without the big crowds. Tim went above and beyond and did way more than expected. He took the lead on everything and my girls gave him the biggest hug when we had to say goodbye. We had the very best day visiting Chichen Itza, a Cenote and the beautiful Valladolid. Julio, our driver and guide picked us up from the hotel at the agreed time and sorted out the car seat for our four months old baby. Julio was extremely flexible and we planned our trip as the day went. When we asked him, he will give us his honest advice but always saying " I do whatever you want to do, you design your day and I am here to make it possible". Julio is also super knowledgeable and we learnt interesting facts during the trip. He also helped us to get a guide in Chichen Itza and he made sure all the time we were not overpaying anywhere we went. We felt safe and relaxed at all times which was crucial for us as we were travelling with our two small kids and we were new to the country. I highly recommend this company for your experiences. Did a quick, small girls trip with the main goal of seeing Chichen Itza. We didn’t want to be in a caravan of the standard crowded tourist buses from the Hotel Zone, struggling to hear the guide, with little time to explore on our own, rushed through a cenote and feeling like cattle. Renting a car to attempt the roads on our own seemed stressful, so we looked for something more personalized to our desired locations. I found Tim on TripAdvisor and he is every bit as wonderful as his glowing reviews, and worth every penny. Even before the trip began, he was communicative and friendly. Every question I had, suggestion I asked for, or location I was considering, Tim answered patiently, thoroughly, and quicker than expected, and he made me very comfortable that we were going to travel with someone professional, knowledgeable, and capable. I settled on early arrival at Chichen Itza, lunch and a bit of shopping in Valladolid, and Zazil Tunich Cenote. We felt very comfortable with Tim right away, and the day with him felt like hanging out with an old friend. He is a confident, safe driver, and provided drinks and a cooler for us. He tailored it to exactly what we wanted, but I think he would also be very good at fulfilling any group’s needs, even less-planned-out, because he is so experienced in this region. He is fluent in English and Spanish (and Portuguese, maybe some others), so he can cater to many travelers. We enjoyed our day so much because of how easy he made it for us! I had a great experience with Tim and his team. We used their airport transfers and took the car with driver for 12 hours. It was the best option. We went to chichen itza, oxman cenote and suytun cenote and then went to the Valladolid city center. There is a time difference of 1hr and we were not aware and Tim and Felipe(driver) was very adjustable and helped us continue with the trip for an extra hour. We were able to do the whole thing with our own pace with 3 kids without a hassle. They also provided with guide(Balam) in Chichen Itza who was available for us with all the tickets. Balam is very knowledgeable and an excellent guide. He took his time to explain all the history and answered all our questions. I must say all the guides in chichen itza has exceptional skill of clapping haha. But overall it was great trip and experience and in future if I go there I will take their service again.

My girlfriend and I were staying in a Cancun AI and wanted to visit Chichén Itzá and some other, less common Cenotes. Our resort was only able to offer packages to the more popular ones, and only had tour bus options (~30-50ppl), which we weren't particularly interested in. We considered renting a vehicle, however, ultimately decided against it and chose a private driver instead, which was the best decision we've ever made. Tim was highly knowledgeable and provided insightful suggestions. His driving was very smooth and safe. There were several instances while driving where locals would try to direct us to unofficial checkpoints or where police would be randomly checking vehicles. As tourists with very limited Spanish and local knowledge, if we had rented a vehicle, we would have easily fallen for them, but not Tim. He knew exactly which was which, what to say, and how to swiftly get through each one. Renting with Tim gave us ultimate flexibility in where we wanted to go and when. I would highly recommend Tim to anyone else travelling in the Cancun region wanting to venture outside of the resort.

Trip was amazing, Tim drove us to Chichen Itza, and the Cenotes around the area from PDC, was an amazing top tier experience. Tim had such great knowledge and really was an amazing guide, without him we would have been lost. We were a bit uncertain at first of private driving VS the tour bus but would say it was WELL worth it and recommend to all, A++++
