Driver was prompt. Trip to Holbox ferry terminal was safe and efficient. Driver spoke very little English. A bit difficult to know how to find driver at the airport in Cancun but all worked out well.

I have to say that we had the most amazing experience with the Holbox Adventure company. Getting to Holbox Island from Cancun Airport is not easy, but our experience was seamless, worry free and most pleasant. After arriving at Cancun Airport, our dedicated guide met us at the airport, took us to our own comfortable, air conditioned shuttle, handed the tickets for the ferry from Chiquila to Holbox, where we were met by another agent, who took us to our hotel. The return experience was exactly the same. Book with Holbox Adventire and you will be in heaven how easy it is!

We used Holbox (via Travel Republic) for our transfer from Cancun airport to our Playa Del Carmen hotel. It was good that they confirmed the pick up via WhatsApp with clear instructions where we would meet our driver. It was also good that they warned us about the people in the airport who would try to "help" us, which is exactly what happened with them trying to persuade us to use their own transportation! The reasons why we can only give this an average review is because 1) when we got to the meeting point there was no one to meet us. We therefore stood there looking lost for a few minutes. One of the other tour operators let us know that Holbox is genuine and they would be here soon no doubt, which they were (about 3 minutes later). 2) The journey was fine and the driver was friendly; however the van itself was older and seemed to have no air conditioning which meant we used the windows instead. Neither of these are big issues but compared to our return journey with a different provider where the driver was on time and the van was newer and with air conditioning..., so it is the reason why we just give it average review...i.e. it did not stand out in a particularly positive way, it was just an avergage transport! Would not stop me from using them again though.

Transportation was great. We did a round trip from Cancun Airport to our hotel in Holbox. To clarify what’s included: pickup at airport just outside the terminal a driver is waiting. Then private transportation to the Holbox ferry landing. The driver then gives you the ferry tickets. The ferry leaves every 30 minutes. When you get off the ferry a golf cart and driver are waiting to take you to your hotel. All the drivers had signs and were waiting for us at the designated locations. They offered to stop for a bathroom break or to get water/snack along the way. Vehicles were nice and clean vans clearly marked. The additional fee for the Tollway really made a difference. On the way to Holbox the tollway was closed for police activity and the drive took 3 1/2 hours to go the long way. On the return the tollway was clear sailing and took just over 2 hours.

We could not have been more happy with our experience. Oliver, our driver, was extremely prompt, kind and knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to have him both to and from Holbox and would high recommend requesting him if possible. Viator was very easy to communicate with and made sure our trip was stress free. We would highly recommend them to anyone.

Our ride from CUN to Holbox was a nightmare. Our driver did NOT use the toll roads. Since we had no clue, we trusted him. Tolls were included in the cost too... He drove like a reckless maniac even though we nicely asked him twice to slow down. He was passing cars at a crazy speed on a regular road (not a freeway). My guess is he pocketed the toll road moneys and drove another route instead and in order to make up for that time he drove like a crazy person. That also explains why he asked us if we had ever been to Holbox before. Had we known he would have never driven those weird "side streets". We figured this out on our way back, after specifically asking for another driver, that in fact DID drive the toll roads aka freeway and took us back to CUN in a quick and safe manner. Even though the back ride went well I would not book with this same company again. I was travelling with my older parents and they were very scared by the unsafe driving style.

Reliable transport. On time. Careful drivers. Much better than driving yourself. The drivers know where all of the speed bumps are!

The driver who took me from Cancun Airport to Chiquilá was great and the van was big and clean and new. He was friendly and pointed out cool things along the way. He was also very patient with my beginner Spanish! Once in Chiquilá he helped me get a ferry ticket and told me to go fast for the ferry as they were waiting for me. He made the journey from the airport very smooth. Communication with the company was great too. They were friendly and accessible and made booking very easy. Highly recommend.

Getting to Isla Holbox is a bit tricky, but Holbox Adventures came through as my private transportation to/from Cancun Airport to my hotel on Isla Holbox. From the Cancun Airport, you are taken to the port of Chiquila about two hours away. Then you take a 30-minute ferry to the port of the island, and then a golfcart taxi to your hotel. Holbox Adventures had it all coordinated very smooth both ways. They were on time and there was a representative waiting at all points of the service. I highly recommend this company for your airport transfer to Isla Holbox!

We took our daughter for her birthday weekend to Holbox. When we arrived at the Cancun airport outside the airport was chaotic. However, we found a sign with our names on it. Our driver was fantastic he made a 2 1/2 hour trip very enjoyable. He took our daughter to a have fresh coconut on the way. Ones we arrived at chiquilla were given our ferry tickets. The ferry took about 30 minutes to arrive to Holbox. Ones in Holbox we were met by our driver Luis who was excellent. Taxi driver Luis was very knowledgeable. He gave tips on tours and information about the island. Anytime we call he was always available and on time. Thank you Luis for an amazing job, and to all drivers for your dedication and professionalism!. You help our trip so much enjoyable!!!!. We highly recommend Holbox Adventure as your transport. We will use them again.

Our travel plans from the Cancun Airport to Isla Holbox fell through at the last minute and I was referred to Holbox Adventure by another tour operator on the island. I contacted Holbox Adventure through WhatsApp and made all the arrangements with ease. They emailed me an invoice and I paid it online. When we arrived to the airport, it was chaotic as it always is there with taxi drivers and shuttle operators all trying to get your business. It put us at ease knowing that we already had arrangements made ahead of time. Our driver, Francisco, arrived with a sign with my name on it so there was no mistaking who my driver was. We flagged him down and he promptly helped us with our luggage to the van. Once in the van, we headed for Chiquila, but not before stopping at the convenience store for some refreshments for the long drive. At Chiquila, Francisco got our ferry tickets for us and al we had to do was wait for the boat. In Holbox, a taxi driver was waiting for us with a sign with my name on it. He took us straight to our hotel. It couldn't have been any easier! Being our first time to Holbox, we were a little nervous about where to go, but Holbox Adventure took care of it all. Our return trip was just as easy. Taxi showed up to our hotel, took us to the ferry and gave us tickets. Once back in Chiquila, a driver awaited us with a sign with my name. He drove us to the Ultramar Ferry in Puerto Juarez (Cancun) for our trip to Isla Mujeres. Super easy and stress free!

Just perfect. They were waiting for us when we arrived and sorted out all tickets and even the golf cart in Holbox. You can also contact them anytime on Whatapp which we did just to confirm our return that again went like clockwork. Highly recommended.

Jesus was amazingly flexible with my changes before I arrived. I hired a driver, Daniel, to and from airport and for two day tours (ChichenItza/Ik Ill and Tuum). These generous, kind men were excellent, professional and I highly recommend them. Thank you Holbox Adventure. You made my trip delightful.

I recommend using them. They were on time and very easy to work with. They provided transport from the airport all the way to our final destination.

Booked in advance to save problems at the airport - Provided flight detail and arrival time - no one to meet us. Phoned and told to go to Welcome Bar - no one there. 30 mins later bus drives in. Similar story trying to get golf buggy at port - didn't help that there was torrential rain and most buggy’s couldn’t get through streets and there was a massive queue. Again a number of phone calls and some delays required to complete journey.

Perfect door to door service; Vans were waiting for us at both ends, professional drivers even stopped for beverages and restrooms. I can't recommend enough - they take all worries out of the transfer to Isla Holbox and back! Worth the cost, will use again and again.

100% recommend Holbox Adventures. This was our 2nd time using them for transport to & from Isla Holbox. The driver was waiting for us at the airport, offered us a quick stop for snacks before the 2 hour drive to the ferry, got our ferry tickets & made sure we got on the ferry with no problems. When the ferry arrived on the island there were taxis waiting to take us to our hotel. We also booked an excursion with them. They picked us up at our hotel and drove us to meet the boat & captain. Our crew was wonderful & we had a great day. On our day of departure they arrived at our hotel on time & got us back to Cancun. Will use Holbox Adventures the next time we visit!

Booked a private transfer from our hotel in Cancun to Holbox and then back from Holbox to the Cancun airport. Everything was perfect. We had a big van to ourselves up to the ferry in Chiquila. The driver was early and super nice. We arrived right when the ferry was scheduled to depart, he called ahead and had our tickets for the ferry ready and we made that ferry so we did not have to wait for the next one. The golf cart taxi was waiting at the dock for us. On the way home I changed the pick-up times a few times so I was nervous but once again everything was super smooth. Very nice car to our selves to the airport. Made great time and got there with plenty of time to spare. Very organized business - highly recommend.

Best way to get to the island and come back. Very good communication, on time, fast, reliable. I quote in more places and with my hotel and this price was unbeatable. Don’t waste your time checking in another place. They are the right one!!

As a solo traveler visiting Holbox for the first time, I was a little more nervous than I probably needed to have been, about getting from the Cancun airport to Holbox, then back again. After reading some reviews, I opted to book a private transfer with Holbox Adventure, and it was a great choice. At the time of booking, they were offering a holiday discount online, so I only paid the equivalent of about $130 USD each way. This was by far the lowest rate I found for a private transfer. What I didn't realize when I booked was that it included *end to end* service. And their people were exactly where they were supposed to be, when they were supposed to be there, at each point. I was met outside the airport terminal in Cancun; my driver was holding a sign with my first and last name. We quickly walked to the van, he asked me if I wanted to stop to buy anything (food, water, etc... it was around lunch time), and we were on our way. About halfway to Chiquila, I needed a bathroom so asked if we could stop. My driver quickly found a good spot, a mini-market that had a public washroom I could use for 5 pesos. It was clean and had soap and water... perfect! On arrival at the port in Chiquila, my driver asked me to stay in the car for a moment while he went to get my ferry ticket (which I didn't even realize was included, so bonus!). He returned with my ticket, and pointed me toward where to go to catch the ferry. I later realized that my transfer probably included a taxi ride from the ferry port to my hotel, but clearly my head wasn't in the game during planning, so I went to the taxi stand and got a taxi on my own and it was no problem. For the return trip, I realized I wasn't certain where I was to meet the driver, so I emailed the company. I received a quick response with details on my return to Cancun. A taxi (golf cart) picked me up at my hotel at the time I'd indicated when I made the reservation (he actually was there 10 minutes early, waiting for me), dropped me at the port and handed me my ferry ticket. On arrival in Chiquila, I walked to the start of the pier, where it meets the road, and found my driver holding a sign with my full name. This time we were in a car (which was fine, I was by myself), and made our way back to Cancun. Again I needed a washroom about halfway, so asked if we could stop and the driver found a suitable public washroom (again, 5 pesos, pretty standard). He asked for my airline, and dropped me at the door of my terminal. While there certainly are cheaper ways to get back and forth, if you're able to afford it, I definitely recommend the transfer with Holbox Adventure. It took the last little bit of stress out of what ultimately was a very relaxing and much needed vacation. Drivers both direction were professional and courteous. Yes, they drove fast, but I'm from Chicago so I don't scare easily, lol. I didn't feel unsafe at any point, and I got where I was going quickly, about 2 hrs, 10 min each way between the airport and the port. The ferry ride is about 25 minutes each way.

I would highly recommend this shuttle service from Cancun airport to Holbox. We booked the private shuttle service last minute. The company was super accommodating and waited for us after our flight was delayed. Ricardo met us right outside the doors to Cancun airport. The trip was easy, and Ricardo asked if we wanted to stop to get water or food after our long flight. The AC was much appreciated :) Upon arriving to Chiquila, Ricardo gave us helpful directions for catching the next ferry. This service is definitely worth the price and we would use them again in a heartbeat.

This company made the transfer from Cancun airport to our hotel in Holbox SO easy. They literally provide door to door service. No problem finding them at the airport and they picked us up, as scheduled, at our hotel in Holbox. Even stopped for us at a convenience store on the way to Holbox to pick up some drinks and snacks. The experience with them couldn’t have been better.

We used Holbox Adventure's shuttle service and had a great experience with them. They picked us up from our hotel in Cancun in a private van which drove us to the port of Chiquila. Once there the driver went off to get our tickets for the ferry and walked us up to the correct boat, advising us that a golf cart taxi would be waiting for us at the port in Holbox. Sure enough, a friendly taxi driver was there at the other end with our name waiting to drop us off at our hotel door. Same smooth experience on the way back but we had a private taxi instead of a van to take us back to Cancun airport - still really spacious and comfortable and the driver Yoan was playing some excellent music! Fantastic experience overall with excellent customer service - Jesús even let us change our departure time the day before the return pick up so we could spend an extra hour in beautiful Holbox.

Jesus and the entire Holbox Adventures team are the best! There were 10 of us in our group and we had plenty of space in the van. The drivers were punctual and friendly. We had Pedro on the pick up and return. We arranged a stop at Costco (in advance) and he was so patient while we got our items. At each step of the way there was someone to get our ferry tickets, taxis, etc... Some of our group members had to go to Merida. He was flexible and his prices were reasonable. I will always recommend this travel management company.

We have used Jesus several times when going to Holbox. This time they took us from Cancun to the Playa Ferry to go to Cozumel. When we were finished in Cozumel they picked us up at the ferry and took us to Holbox. And then 5 days later they picked us up at our hotel in Holbox and took us back to the Cancun airport. They have wonderful air conditioned vans and they are always punctual and helpful. We will always use this service when in Mexico.

Everything was excellent except for one major detail. My wife and I arrived at Terminal 3 and our friends to Terminal 4. We had to figure out why no one from Viator met us, and how to get to the terminal Southwest arrives at. There was confusion and it was stressful. I feel that Viator dropped the ball by not preparing us for this situation.

Pick-up right on time, buy your trip in advance, and your return on the island. The driver takes you to an convenience store if needed, and makes the 2 hours drive going quite easy. We had an excellent service 3 times during our stays at Holbox. Hereby recommended!

We used Holbox Adventure (Holbox shuttle) for transportation from Cancun Airport to Chiquila the 1st of March 2018. We had pre-booked and paid the transportation for 1 PM, but because one of our luggage was delayed we had to wait in the airport and missed our transport. Holbox Shuttle were very friendly and service minded and answered the phone very quickly at each call. When our luggage arrived we were just in time for the next transport, but had no time to go to terminal 2 as we were in terminal 3. They then came and picked us up in terminal 2 instead and we did not have to pay anything extra. Thank you for this excellent service and help! We would gladly recommend your services to other travellers!

For $144 each way, I expected a bit more professionalism and timeliness. After arriving at Holbox, I found many operators offering transfers to/from Cancun for about half the cost. If anything, I'd recommend using this company for the leg *to* Holbox if you're a first-timer, but arranging your transportation from Holbox to Cancun while on the island after you get an idea of what's required (you'd only *really* need to book a car from Chiquila to Cancun, not this all-inclusive transportation package). Getting a taxi from your hotel to the ferry, and buying the ferry ticket from Holbox to Chiquila can all be done with zero assistance. Ironically, it was our trip from Holbox to Cancun that was seamless and what I was expecting, given the cost. Unfortunately, the trip from Cancun to Holbox left me a little nervous: First, there were no details communicated as to who / where to look for our driver at Cancun Airport. I had to independently confirm the booking and was only given my driver's name (which doesn't help me in locating the driver). Second, the driver was late, and we walked around the airport area aimlessly looking for him. About 15-20 minutes later, he showed up with my name on a sign. Third, the driver asked us if we wanted to take a "shortcut" and that it would cost $10 USD in cash. We had already paid $144, so it seemed odd that this was even an option, or that the operator wouldn't just consider this $10 a cost embedded in the price. We didn't take the shortcut. Fourth, the driver *did* take us through a shortcut on an unpaved, pothole-ridden dirt road that was blocked via a single chain strung between two posts, manned by one individual. The driver paid the man some small amount for him to allow us through. I can't imagine that this shortcut shaved more than 1-2 minutes off the time, but it made us feel a little nervous as to where we were going. Lastly, after disembarking the ferry in Holbox, we waited about 30-40 minutes for our pickup to go to the hotel before just taking and paying for a taxi ourselves. This was the most frustrating part -- we were on the island and we were a short 5 minute taxi ride from our hotel, but we felt like we should wait for our paid-for transportation. To their credit, someone arrived at our hotel and refunded us the 35 Mexican pesos we had paid for the taxi. For $144, I would have expected a bit more of a seamless ride. Admittedly, the ride back was smooth and easy. Courteous and polite no-nonsense driver (Pedro), with zero wait time in between modes of transportation. Even if they could consistently provide this kind of service, I'd still be queasy about the price tag given the competing prices of other transportation providers that I saw on Holbox itself.

Jesus was great, lots of communication about my transport to and from Holbox. Both times the drivers were on time, friendly, courteous and safe (and fast). I highly recommend this company even though they are pricier than other options, well worth the quality of service. Gracias, Jesus!

We recently reserved (pre-paid) with Holbox Adventure to travel between Cancun airport and Holbox Island. The shuttle driver did not meet us at the airport at the appointed time. We waited 45 minutes, sent an desperation e-mail (the company did not provide a phone number) and eventually got a phone call saying he was on his way. Not a propitious beginning. For the return trip, the driver never showed up, which left us scrambling to arrange a last-minute, costly taxi trip to make our scheduled flight. This is no way to operate a business.

We used the private shuttle service from Cancun airport to Isla Holbox and we used the shared shuttle back to the airport just this past January 2018. The private shuttle on the way there was perfect and smooth. It just made going to this vacation spot all the more easier and was a great way to start the trip. On the way back, we took the shared shuttle. When we ran into concerns because didn't know where the shared shuttle was located, we were very concerned we would miss our flight. However we were able to get hold of the owner and he made sure we made it to the airport on time. This company is clearly run by a very honest and reliable owner! I highly recommend this shuttle company!! It was our first time to Holbox and Holbox Adventure made the trip so much more enjoyable! Thank you Holbox Adventure!! :)

We used Holbox Adventure for transportation to/from Cancun airport. They are very timely, shuttles are nice, clean and friendly drivers. Jesus is very quick to respond to questions and you are able to pay in cash or paypal if preferred

Isla Holbox carted us all over the Yucatan peninsula. We went from Cancun to Holbox, then 7 days later from Holbox to Tulum, and 4 days later from Tulum back to Cancun. They were timely, very organized and the drivers were professional. Tip: When going from Cancun to Isla Holbox, ask your driver to take the toll road. You'll have to pay the toll, but it shaves so much time off your drive. I cannot remember how much it cost I'm thinking it was around $5-8 and make sure you have cash on hand to pay for it.

It is when things go wrong that you know if you deal with a serious company. The driver waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for us to appear at our pick-up point, despite lack of communication from our side. He drove fast, but safe, and we managed to get to the airport in time. In the car I left my phone, credit card and drivers licence. I thought I would never see it again, but guess what! The company delivers the missing gods at a friends hotel quite a journey away. Totally trustworthy company and quick responses to all matters! They're the best!!!!

Getting to Holbox take a bit of planning and since it was a holiday week we were worried that they might run out of space so we opted for The Holbox adventure transfer. We arrived on two different flights and our driver was waiting for us with a sign. He was watching our flights so he would know when to expect us. We only paid 144$ for 2 in a private transport. The driver was a nice guy who drove us the 2 hours to Chiquila. He offered to stop several times for us to get a drink or snack or use restroom. When we arrived at the Chiquila ferry doc, he had already purchased our tickets and helped us take our luggage to the ferry to be loaded. He gave us clear instructions once the ferry arrived at Holbox where another contact greeted us and tookus by golfcart taxi directly to our hotel. We could not have asked for an easier transfer with nicer representatives. Anyone taking their first trip to Holbox should go this route, its totally hassle free and reasonably priced.
