We rented a car and drove here from our resort near Cancun (about 30 min drive). I contacted them by WhatsApp first to confirm we could pay once we got there rather than reserve and pay online. When we got there they showed us where to park and they assigned a tour guide for us. We did the 4 cenotes only package for 800pesos each and locker rental for 200pesos (the locker works for first 2 cenotes only). First cenote is the deep one where 3 people were actually scuba diving inside. Second cenote has a zip line if you want to ride and then you fall into it. The third and fourth cenotes we followed our guide on a motorcycle and drove to them (about 5-10min drive). The last 2 are the cave ones. Our tour guide, Paco, was very friendly and we loved this experience as it’s a bit adventurous and rustic. Highly recommended. We had the cenotes all pretty much to ourselves by self-driving although we did see tour groups of maybe 20 plus people come and go. We brought our own towels, used the free life jackets so didn’t need water shoes, change of clothes

We had an incredible excursion! The day started seamlessly with a pickup in a comfortable, air-conditioned van right from our resort. We were a massive group of 30 people, but the tour guides handled us like absolute pros—they truly are the best guides we’ve ever had! As we walked through the stunning Yucatan jungle, they shared fascinating insights into Mayan history. We visited three distinct cenotes, and every single one was breathtakingly beautiful.
Cenote Zapote is a beautiful place surrounded by nature, with crystal-clear water that’s perfect for swimming. The staff was friendly, the facilities were clean, and it was a fun, relaxing experience. Highly recommend if you’re staying near Puerto Morelos!
We had a different trip booked, but it fell through last minute. We had already driven to the area, so we showed up at Zapote to check options. Within 5 minutes we were on a private guided tour with a guide and a photographer. We added the ATV's (well worth it!). The guide was exceptional. Pictures were awesome. ATV included an actual jungle ride, not just a dirt road. 4 unique cenotes and ziplining. Lunch? Authentic cooking. Some of the best tacos we have ever eaten! A day that started as a disappointing cancellation from a different company turned into the highlight of our trip!
We had the best time at Cenotes Zapote. We were a group of 13 people ages ranging 2 yrs to 70 yrs. We chose the Chaka tour w/ added transportation. Peter picked us up from our hotel and the ride to cenotes was very comfortable. He was also our guide throughout the tour. He was amazing! Very friendly, attentive and informative. Everyone had a blast! My son (9yrs) loved the caverns and my other son (6yrs) enjoyed the cliff jumping. Highly recommend!
Omg what an amazing adventure and would very highly recommend anyone coming to see the Cenotes come see there’s because we rented the atv and seen the 4 that they have and the water was amazing and so gorgeous and I’m sorry I can’t remember my tour guides name but he was so great all the staff there was awesome
Best tour. 4 cenotes. All amazing. Great guide. Would highly recommend
Overall it was a very good experience except for one huge flaw, we were told we would have an English speaking guide the whole time and we had no guide whatsoevet for half the trip
Amazing experience! Was not at all touristy as the name makes it sound. We went late in the afternoon and almost had the whole place to ourselves. There are 4 cenotes, 2 where you park and 2 you then drive to. The first had an amazing zip line that you could ride and then jump into the cenote. The underground cenotes were amazingly beautiful but are not for everyone / if you are scared of enclosed spaces/ being underground. Staff was great / we loved it!
There are 4 amazing & unique cenotes to visit; 2 open to the sky and 2 inside caves. Our guide, Pedro, was helpful, knowledgeable, and took great pictures. In many cases our group of 5 were the only ones in a Cenote. The lunch buffet was the perfect end to an afternoon of adventure & relaxation in nature.
FABULOUS!!!! Highly recommend. We hired a guide (Ricardo from Dive and Snorkel Experiences in Tulum-- they are amazing!!) to drive our big group around, and he took pictures for us and it was all around fantastic to have him and his team with us!) but you also can just take a taxi or uber-- Zapote is an Eco-Park, open every day, you don't need reservations in advance-- and they will provide a guide to help you find your way around. There are four cenotes--- representative of the four different types -- and you can jump in from a high (or lower) ledge, and zip line, and snorkel. We had 14 people in our group and every single person said it was the BEST DAY. We were there from about 10am to 1pm. Bring snacks, bathing suit, comfortable shoes (flip flops are fine as long as they don't hurt--- there is some walking involved! Tevas or Keens would be perfect) Our guide Ricardo brought snorkels but I think you can rent them there. Bring a towel and bottled water. It's the right amount of "wild adventure" (the 13 year old boy in our group had a blast!) but also not too scary for the moms in their 50s!! I did the zip line twice and dropped into the cenote from 20 feet in the air can't wait to go back and do it again!! For older or less adventurous people it's still a superb way to see cenotes. Go to Zapote! You will love it.
We were guided by Francisco. He was great! This is one of the most amazing natural wonders I have experienced. A must to see. Also there is a lovely traditional lunch which was the best meal I had this trip. Awesome experience!
I am Mexican and an archaeological site guide, and as a local resident, we tend to be demanding when visit a new place, as this peninsula is full of beautiful spots. The cenotes of Zapote did not disappoint, on the contrary, they are so beautiful that they made it onto the list of the best on the Puerto Morelos Cenote Route! Five stars well deserve! the facilities were way better than average. I was traveling with my parents that are over 70 and appreciate the easy access, clean restrooms and showers, good life vest, nice roads (and everyone knows how bumpy the entrance to a cenote could be), tidy areas and penty of space for parking. If like me you tend to read previous reviews to anticipate and identify potential difficulties, you may have come across the one that mentions Randy negatively. Today I want to redeem him, as he was professional and friendly with us. As a member of the Leona Vicario community, he will give you firsthand information about the lives of present-day Mayan communities, and I myself learned several new things about nature, paleontology, and local life. If you are looking for a genuine local experience, ask for Randy (or Manuel), and you will be in good hands :)
The whole experience was phenomenal. The staff was accommodating of our group of 15 and we all had an absolute blast. Could not recommend this adventure enough if you’re staying in the Cancun area.
Amazing trip. We swam, biked and zip lined. Best part of our trip to Cancun. Oscar was our guide and was fantastic! Highly recommend this trip!
We had the best time zip lining and riding bikes and swimming in the cenotes. Oscar our guide was so kind, helpful and fun. He got a great tip.
My husband and I booked a trip with Cenote Zapote through our hotel and we were not disappointed. We ended up being the only ones on our tour and Giovanni, our guide, was excellent. Leticia was our photographer and she got some amazing photos. We had a wonderful time seeing the different cenotes, ziplining, and enjoying delicious Mayan cuisine. Bring a suit and some gym shorts. A pair of water shoes and goggles are helpful, but not strictly necessary. Bring cash so you can tip your guide, the Mayan cooks, and your driver, for sure.
This tour was everything!! We happened upon the site after looking for a different cenote, but they set us up with a tour guide (Oscar) who took us to 4 very different cenotes, each one beautiful in its own way. Oscar was very relaxed and kind and spoke great English--we felt very comfortable following him around the site. The cenotes were not crowded at all and we often had a cenote all to ourselves. I would absolutely book again!
We had a great time. The cenotes were breathtaking and the people were lovely. Would definitely recommend! We went without an organized tour booked in advance , which is a good option as long as you have transportation there and back. There is a zipline into one of the cenotes that was fun. We didn’t do the other zip lines or ATVs (not our thing). The changing facilities and dining area were clean and beautiful. We didn’t eat the meal there but it smelled delicious. We had multiple cenotes all to ourselves. Jorge and Enrique were great!
Spent a morning here while traveling for work. What a great experience! I was traveling solo by car, and wanted a non-excursion/non-bus tour cenote option that offered multiple cenotes. Cenote Zapote Ecopark was a perfect fit. Fairly easy to navigate to on Rute de los Cenotes with plenty of parking. Oskar was a fabulous guide, providing history and peace of mind given I was traveling solo. The park itself is beautiful and well maintained. The staff were friendly and attentive. I’ll be back! A few things to keep in mind: - There are multiple admission options, but note that you do need to utilize the four wheeler transportation provided by the staff in order to experience 2 of the 4 cenotes, as they are a distance away from the main entrance. - You must be accompanied by a guide, which is included in your admission fee. It’s well worth it to learn the history of the area and for safety. - Bring cash to tip your guide. - Food options are available, as are lockers, bathrooms/changing areas. All clean and well maintained.
I’m so glad we booked this excursion! We visited two open air cenote and two in caves. The open Cenotes had a zip line and jumping platforms and the inside ones were absolutely stunning. I don’t know if we got lucky or it is always like this, but our family of four were alone at each cenote which made it feel special. Having got our own taxi out there we then hired quad bikes as it’s not practical to walk to all the Cenotes. The bikes were great and the kids particularly enjoyed it when we had to go out on the open road. The visit could probably be completed in about 3 hours without lunch, though we stayed to eat, meaning we were there for about 4.5 hours. I’d recommend this trip to anyone visiting the area.
Their transportation was very late beforehand, and nobody from Zapote bothered to apologize. The scenery was beautiful, but we didn't feel like people were doing their best on the day we visited. Nice views!
We visited the Cenotes during July and had the most wonderful afternoon. We rented ATVs and Francisco took us to four different cenotes. Francisco, our guide was instrumental in showing us around and helping with the zip line and information. We were able to pay with our credit card but cash might have been better. Such an amazing day! Bring your water shoes and goggles. The water was so clean and refreshing. So much to see and such a fun day!
Giovanni was our guide and it was amazing. He was very informative and knowledgeable of the cenotes. He made my wives and I first experience great. HIGHLY recommend going early before the crowds.
My experience was amazing to say the least — it was perfect for all types of people and everything from the sky to the water you can do there. I am a 14-year-old girl who loves adventures, and I have a 7-year-old brother and a 4-year-old brother as well. We started the day meeting our driver Enrique, who was super friendly and told us about the roads and where we were as we drove. After we arrived, we got our tickets and met our awesome tour guide, Govanni, and our lovely photographer, Leticia. We did so many incredible things — we went zip lining through the treetops and even zip lined into this huge, beautiful lake-like cenote. It was so fun flying through the air and then splashing into the water! We also jumped into the cenote from different heights, which was both scary and exciting. To get to each destination, we drove ATVs, which made it even more adventurous and fun! Leticia took loads of amazing photos for us throughout the day so we could remember every moment. She made sure to capture everything from the action shots to the peaceful moments, and she was always so sweet and patient. It was an unforgettable day filled with adventure, nature, and kind people — truly something for everyone, whether you're a thrill-seeker or just want to have a fun day with family.
Randy was an excellent guide. Very nice and attentive. The cenotes are beautiful. The food is delicious. I highly recommend Cenotes Zapotes.
My family group of 13 adults and teens had a fantastic day at the cenotes. We did the basic tour, which included 4 cenotes. You can upgrade to a tour that includes lunch as well as jungle zip lining. All the cenotes were beautiful and refreshing. The 1st cenote had various diving points as high as 45' which the teens absolutely loved. The 2nd cenote had a zipline which added even more fun to our adventure. The 3rd and 4th cenotes were more relaxing with amazing formations in the caves and lighting, which really made for a peaceful end to our day. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.
The four cenotes were amazing! Jorge was a great guide. The tour was fun and personal. Jorge made it so that we went to the cenotes at our own pace and in an order that made each cenote almost private! Shannon was our photographer and did a great job and even took requests. Ezekiel our driver was safe and timely! HIghly recommend!
They really help you have as good a time as possible. We drove to the sites, so our ticket price wasn't as salty. In the end, I think our ticket price was worth it. £75, not sure. Take a mask and snorkel. You have a guide who walks you to each cenote (except the last which is a drive) and leaves you there for about 45 minutes. The first was small, but there was lots of jumping in. High enough for me to not do the highest one. Watched poor divers go in and slide down the side, removing the viz. Next one was bigger with a zip line that even my wife had a go on, and normally she's not up for that sort of thing. Next was very small cave. Just OK. The final one was massive with amazing viz and I could have spent another hour in there.
I would highly recommend this for a first time cenote experience. Our guide Juan was excellent, his knowledge of the cenotes and the environment made the trip educational as well as being fun.
Absolutely awesome adventure with our family of 5. The experience is quiet, clean and absolutely gorgeous. They're very friendly and well organized - we were very happy with the tour. The lunch was also amazing - best tacos we had on our whole week in Cancun! Highly recommend this, you'll love it!
Jessie- my girl- she was the best tour guide. We booked the Chaka Tour and added transportation. She picked us up from the hotel on time and gave us a little history about the park on our 50 minute ride. Spoke highly of her supervisors and the park owners. This is a Mayan owned park with the goal of preserving land and history. Jessie took care of us and encouraged us to step outside our comfort zones to do more courageous activities like the cave cenotes and ziplines. She highly recommended the buffet lunch so we added that expense at the little gift shop. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! Please eat the buffet! Best tortillas I have ever had (ask Jessie about the quesadillas) and delicious coffee/cold drinks. Very cool history at that park and a lot to learn or just a great place deep in the jungle to relax if you’d rather do that. Well maintained bathrooms and pathways throughout the park. Very clean and welcoming. I would go back again in a heartbeat! Bring cash for tips.
We zip lined over the jungle into the trees, into the cenotes. Randy was a fun guide with great energy and a sense of humor!
We had an awesome guided tour to four cenotes. We rode quads through the jungle and swam in the most beautiful clear blue, green water, outside and caves. We had an all you can eat taco lunch, with rice and beans. So delicious. Amazing day! Highly recommend. Also, Juan and Francisco were awesome guides.
Juan T was very helpful, positive , he also has a lots of patience when asked questions he has great customer service. Juan was very informative and made our experience greater than expected he also interacts with customers very well and also knows his way around cancun well recommend asking for Juan T as a tour guide when using Zapote cenotes.
We had a wonderful time at Cenotes Zapote. Our guide was Juanito, and he was great. We went with 10 extended family members. Our youngest was five years old, and our oldest were in their seventies. Everyone had a great time! Juanito made appropriate accommodations as needed for everyone to enjoy themselves. He made special transportation accommodations for the older people and made sure the kids had correct life vests. The infrastructure is very good at Cenotes Zapotes. There are restrooms with flush toilets and running water to wash hands (not potable) at every cenote; the trails are very well maintained; the zipline was in good condition and very safe; and there were stairs and railings to get in and out of the water at every cenote for people who didn’t want to jump in. Everything was very safe, well maintained, and run beautifully. We opted for private van transfer to and from our hotel. The vehicle was very nice and clean. Tips for future travelers: 1. Don’t wear sunscreen or bug spray. You truly don’t need it with all of the shade in the jungle, and there really were no bugs at all. The staff ask that you not wear products on your skin to protect the natural waters. We were not told this before arrival. 2. Bring water shoes, snorkel gear and/or goggles, and towels. 3. You will hike about 15 minutes to the first cenote, then another five or so minutes to the second cenote, (both of which are open). After that you will be driven to the third, and fourth cenotes (both of which are enclosed in caves). The amount of walking and transportation was unclear to us until we arrived. 4. The older people in our group benefited from bringing their personal hiking poles and hiking boots, but the younger people in our group walked in flip-flops or crocs and were fine. As mentioned before, the trails are very well maintained. We would definitely recommend this tour as part of your trip! All ages can enjoy these cenotes! We all loved it!
It was a great experience. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves. We did find another activity similar to this for less money on a strip in Cancun, but equally as fun.
The experience was really cool! A good mixture of adventure and relaxation (cave ones). We had a blast. The only con we had was it is one of the more pricier experiences. But I think if you have never done it, I would highly recommend experiencing it.
I scuba dived this cenote and it was unreal. Very good experience with our guide and the people at the cenotes. Super clean too. Nice bathrooms. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to scuba dive a cenote. Have a guide tho.
We booked on zapote cenote website and everything ran very smoothly. They even pushed our booking because I wasn't feeling well on the day we were originally booked. Juanito picked us up and drove us to the park. Staff met us and showed us where to get changed and then Daniel took us on the ATV. We travelled to 4 cenotes and it was beautiful amazing. Stopped for delicious lunch and the car was waiting for us to take us back to our hotel. The park and facilities are gorgeous!!! The cenotes are magical. Las palmas was my favourite. Daniel was so patient with us and helped my little girl (2) the entire time. Our little boy (3) loved jumping into the cenotes. It was not crowded at all and we went our own pace the entire time! Daniel made sure we were kept safe and enjoyed every minute! I recommend 100%
WOW. What a place! My partner said it was the most fun he's ever had and i agree. The cenotes are beautiful, the ziplines were fun and the place is just gorgeous. We took so many photos. Our tour guide Francisco was funny and really kind. I also suggests renting ATVs. Its not advertised but its possible and totally worth it.
What a fantastic day. We were staying at a resort in the Mayan Riviera with a family group of 7 ranging from 4-74. Our group has included 2 kids, 1 teen, 2 parents in their early 40s and 2 grandparents in their 70s. I spent ages looking for a good excursion that would meet everyone’s needs. Our 4 year old is going through a stage where he’s afraid of everything so that eliminated a lot of options. We didn’t want to have the seniors walking in the blazing sun so we skipped the ruins. Cenotes Zapote with ATV rentals and round trip transportation from our hotel was the PERFECT choice. We were picked up at 10am and returned to the hotel at about 5pm. We visited 4 cenotes and even though our little guy refused to even stick a toe in the water he had a blast on the ATVs and was able to watch from a safe bench at each cenote. The first 2 cenotes are above ground and have activities. Our teen loved jumping from the highest point at the first cenote and everyone had a blast on the zipline at the 2nd cenote. The last 2 cenotes were further away so we got to really have fun on the ATVs and those cenotes were both underground. We got stunning photos and it was so cool to explore the caves. Again, there was something for everyone. For those who didn’t want to swim the scenery was stunning and the travel between cenotes was fun. We were given about 25 minutes at each cenote which was plenty. Our guide was friendly and accommodating though he mostly hung back and let us do our thing. There were bathrooms at every cenote and even though it wasn’t the hottest day and was overcast, the water in the cenotes was lovely (I’m a huge wimp in cold water and I was fine). At the end of our tour we had the most delicious authentic Mexican lunch of tacos, Mexican hot chocolate, agua Fresca, rice and beans. Soooo tasty and served by lovely women who were making the tortillas in front of us. The van for transport was timely and comfortable. It was a long drive from our hotel - about 90 minutes - but it was a pretty drive for the most part and air conditioned. Zero complaints. I’m so glad we chose this as one of our outings on this trip. It was a highlight for all of us, even the 4 year old who refused to touch the water!!
My wife and I went to Cenotes Zapote in early December. Jessie was a great guide as well as being very friendly and knowledgable. The location gives you the opportunity to visit 4 cenotes, two that are below ground. A truly unique experience that is a must do in the Yucatan peninsula. Jessie made it that much more special. What a fantastic spot! The four cenotes were awesome. Hard to say which one was my favorite, so different! Definitely enjoyed the zip line dive in, and the one with the high jumps, but the caves were spectacular as well. I also have to mention our magnificent tour guide JESSY PONCE DE LEON! She made the experience a different level! So nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Really a great asset to this place. GO CHECK IT OUT!
The sales team oversold the experience and the guide, Randy or Randi, was probably the worst trip leader we have ever experienced. He was rude and a liar. He didn't know at first we spoke Spanish and could understand how he spoke to the other guide about taking us on as a client. I'm sure other guides are fine - however this was not an enjoyable experience. At all.
We had an amazing time in this cenote, our tour guide was extraordinary! JESSI was always taking care everyone in the group was safe, she made as feel like we were all family and she was super fun and friendly! Thanks for such an amazing adventure ❤️
The trip was absolutely amazing. Started with a very timely pickup by Manrique, who was very polite and professional, with a very easy going personality. When we arrived to Cenote Zapote, Ricardo, our guide, walk us through the various activities which included swiming in 3 different cenotes, zip lining and ended in an amazing traditional yucatan meal. The place not only offers a great variety of fun activities, but it has areas for relaxing, and taking a bunch of great pictures. My daughter (11yo) and I had a memorable time! XIINBALTIC!
It's an amazing experience, most clean and beautiful, the 5 cenotes, zipline, ATV or Bicycle rides are must-do activities!!!!!! Great guides, awesome food !!!!! . It has created a wonderful experience for us, Our Guide/Driver "Pedro- The paramedic aswell" is a very friendly and honest person. Felt so safe even with very minimal swimming skills!!!!!. Book your tours and you will remember the experience for life! Suggestions : 1. Carry your towels and swim suits and dry clothes etc..... carry some cash 2. Carry water resistant pouch for your mobile phone 3. Carry water
We recently visited this place and had an amazing experience. Arriving early around 9:30 was a great decision, as it wasn't crowded at all. The total cost for my wife, our 7-year-old son, and me was about $125, which was well worth it. The Cenotes were the highlight of our visit. The first one was incredible, with crystal-clear water that everyone jumped into, and I even tried some high dives. The second Cenote, which featured a zip line, was equally fantastic. It was wide, offering stunning views that we all enjoyed. Our guide was excellent, transporting us to and from each Cenote in a cart. The scheduling was perfect; when we visited the cave Cenotes, they were nearly empty, giving us a private and peaceful experience. An unexpected bonus was the exceptional customer service from Mali. I lost my credit card and ID in one of the Cenotes, and a day later, they found them and arranged to deliver them to my hotel. This gesture went above and beyond my expectations. Overall, it was a memorable trip with fantastic experiences and outstanding service. Highly recommended!
Very nice place worthwhile to visit. We have gone to 3 cenotes, did zip lining, zip lining with plunging to the cenote and visit the Mayan caves zoi che ( cannot really now remember the name)
