I would not recommend staying at the Grand Oasis Palm in Cancun July 23rd-July 27th, 2026. This resort is very outdated, the electrical outlets in our room didn’t even work. We start smelling smoke from one of the outlets and had to call the front desk. One of the most concerning experiences happened while we were in our room. Someone was walking down the hallway pushing on everyone’s doors, including ours, trying to get in. It was very unsettling and made us feel unsafe. We informed the front desk. They said they would look into, never heard anything back from them. The customer service was also very poor. Many of the employees didn’t speak English, and when we asked for help, they often seemed bothered or uninterested in assisting us. Instead of trying to help, we frequently felt like they were trying to brush us off. I appreciate Wilbur, Diego, and Francisco. They were the only employee's we came into contact with that was kind and had great service. The beach was dirty and not well maintained. If you’re an adult looking for entertainment, don’t expect much. There were little to no activities for adults, and the resort is boring. Dining was another disappointment. We had to wait 30–45 minutes in the heat almost every time just to get into the buffet, and it was extremely difficult to get reservations at the other restaurants. To make matters worse, I became sick on the last day of our stay, which completely ruined the end of our vacation. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences I’ve had. Between the outdated rooms, poor customer service, long waits for food, lack of adult activities, dirty beach and swimming pool's, safety concerns, and ending our trip sick, I cannot recommend this resort. Save your money and choose a different hotel.

Where do I start. I booked the holiday for my family of four through On The Beach. We arrived at around 6pm. The driver took us to The Sens even though we had booked the grand Oasis Palm. When I questioned him he stated this was his instructions. At the reception they stated they had no rooms at the Grand Oasis Palm and that they had “upgraded” us to The Sens as it’s a better hotel and the reason being is because On The Beach had requested this 🤔 I was given a room, the room seemed fine then after two nights my son woke up and said he saw some “spiders”…..on investigation they were cockroaches. I immediately contacted reception who sent up someone from customer services and said we needed to change rooms. I requested I be moved to the Grand Oasis Palm as that is what was booked but again they said they had no rooms so moved us to another room at The Sens. This room had interconnecting doors and our neighbours were noisy every night up until 2am, reception informed but nothing done so I lost my temper and decided to knock on there door, in the end they apologised and turned the noise down but then at 6am there alarm clock would go off and it was so loud it woke us up too. The safe in the new room worked intermittently and at one point it took me over 20 attempts to get it open. The staff were called who plugged a USB in and opened it immediately. Now for the rest: Coffee and Ice cream shops This was the best place in the hotel. Great coffee and ice cream and the staff were lovely. Pizza and Pasta Opens at 11 and the pizza was nice. I can’t comment on the pasta as everytime we went they said there was no pasta so effectively it’s just Pizza place and Nothing else! Breakfast: Breakfast was ok, service for seating and drinks was slow. Egg station was fantastic, bread and croissant’s were nice. I noticed whatever was left over from dinner the previous night was turned into a stew of some sort for the morning. Lunch: Pizza place with NO Pasta place as discussed above Fish restaurant - fish and chips were really nice and staff were lovely. Main restaurant - variety of food including chips, nuggets etc but nuggets were hit and miss ( sometimes overcooked or soggy) but it was evident if any were left over they were given for dinner. Dinner - we didn’t like dinner at all, we used to fill up on lunch. We ate a few times but the rest of the time we order uber McDonald’s. Lunch time pool bar snacks Hot dogs/Burgers and chips were very nice and was one of the freshest meals you will get here. Pool bar by the beach - nice drinks but one bar man serving 15 people in a queue, very slow sometimes waiting 20 minutes for a drink. Pool bar in the pool - the pool is in sections and separated by small bridges that are not arched so you can not swim under unlike many other place I have stayed in. We stayed in the bigger pool by the snack bar but to access the swimming pool bar you had to get out of the pool you are in and jump into the one with swimming pool bar. Sports bar - no AC The only places that had AC was the coffee shops and main reception at the Sens. The beach was nice and the poolside had plenty of loungers BUT had no parasols making the heat unbearable sometimes but we found a spot under a tree. My experience was not good of this resort mainly because I was refused a room at the actual hotel I booked and I was told I was upgraded but I never saw what the difference in rooms were and to find cockroaches in first room was awful. Would I return - NO, my whole family were disappointed, I paid over £5000 and it was a waste. I have now contacted On the Beach to make a formal complaint especially as I wasn’t given the hotel that I actually paid for!
We stayed at this resort twice, and enjoyed our stay both times! The resort and the amenities are beautiful; very clean and well kept. The room needs improvement and remodeling, but it was clean and comfortable. Many different restaurants to choose from, serving variety of food - most were fantastic with friendly staff. Sushi restaurant by the pool was amazing; it gets overcrowded for lunch but the wait was well worth it!! The highlight was supervised kids area with friendly, english speaking staff, so that we could take s few moments for ourselves and enjoy the adults only amenities. Our kids enjoyed the entertainment and activities at the kids club and the resort! The hotel is in a great location too, we ordered uber and explored the city, which was short drive from the hotel.
This experience came as quite a surprise. -No water in rooms (24hrs) - #2s just stay there. -Several rotten foods at buffet (especially tomatoes). -Got food poisoning & toilets wouldn’t flush. -We had to collect water for next “drought” in our room. -Lock box wasn’t reset before our check in. -Bartenders were extremely rude and dismissive. -Pool area very dirty with litter and dirty wet napkins. -Common area bathrooms don’t have toilet seats. -The shower & tap water stink. -Beach is not cleaned overnight (ever) -You have to remove plates and cups and arrange beach chairs from the day before. We usually go to cancun twice a year and have a good time. I unfortunately can’t recommend Oasis resorts. Several YouTubers have made videos that corroborate our experience.
We stayed here March 29 to Apr 5 2026, and it was wonderful! The day we arrived, check in staff advised me to download the Oasis app. This was helpful in planning our days, as it lists all the available activities/restaurants etc. We had access to La Hacienda and Bites buffet restaurants, and they had all the options one could eat. Yes sometimes there were line ups, but we were on vacation, so we weren't rushing anywhere. And if you are in a rush, just go early when there's no lineup. Bites restaurant had sushi one day, my kids really enjoyed unlimited sushi. We also booked MakiTaco and Cocoa restaurants for a la carte dinners, it was nice for a change. We had access to beach and pools on our side, and the next hotels too. So we tried both. Tip, go mark your beach chair early like 7am with clothing or towel, otherwise you won't find one later. There is even a day care for kids 4 to 12 I believe. At night, they had a band, or Dj. They had shows in the main theater. You can also go on a pirate ship (day trip is family friendly) and kinky on board is at night for adults only. You pay only docking fee, which is USD $18/person or so. They serve drinks and refreshments, all included. Concierge was also helpful in making calls to Sunwing, coz we booked through them. They gave me directions one day when we wanted to visit outside the resort. Very helpful. Lastly the Coffee&me staff work tirelessly. They serve coffees and frozen vanillas all day, which we really enjoyed. If they don't smile, its because they are on their feet all day serving us. All in all, it was a great experience. I wrote this review because I saw nasty ones, but we ended up really enjoying our time. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff!
