Whale Watching Eco-adventure From Costa Adeje

This tour was absolutely superb and I highly recommend it. The boat is small and fast so really fun for the children bouncing over the waves. The two guides (boat captain and assistant) are very polite and knowledgable about the marine life. They spent a lot of time chatting to all the guests and also gave us tips on the best snorkelling sites on the island. We saw a pod of dolphins and then some pilot whales swimming very close to the boat. I understand that there are around 400 whales living off the coast so these sighting are quite reliable.

This trip worse every penny! We seen so many dolphins and whales ! It was truly magical seen these magnificent animals so close. Thank you for this amazing experience 🙏

We were booked on the 14:30 session and had an amazing experience. Our guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and truly care about the environment the whales and other sea creatures live in. We saw several pilot whale pods, some very close to the boat. Would definitely recommend this company if you are thinking about booking a trip.

Our tour was in October on a beautiful sunny day. We got very lucky seeing many pilot whales from as soon as we were out at sea, with them swimming close up to the boat, and also three sea turtles. Carlota and Inigo were great guides, very knowledgeable and entertaining. Importantly they clearly care deeply about the welfare of the whales, for example stopping the boat a little way from them and letting the whales choose to approach or not, and also not staying with any group too long.

What a fabulous trip. Our guide, Ion, what amazing. So knowledgeable and friendly throughout the whole experience- he really made an effort to ensure all the guests had a great time ( each party spoke a different language and he made everyone feel welcome!). He was fantastic with our daughter as the only child on the trip that morning and ensuring she got to see everything. We did the 9.30 tour and as the weather was sunny and warm we got to see so many pilot whales that were resting/sleeping - was amazing!! Ion - keep protecting the ocean and the pilot whales !!

The experience was amazing!!! I went with my family and my son had a wonderful time, we saw pilot whales, dolphins and turtles!!!! We couldn’t ask for more, seeing those animals in the wild was one of the best experiences of our life! 1000000% recommend

Excellent tour! Inigo and Carlotta were wonderful. They were very knowledgeable about the whales and were respectful to the whales. It was obvious that the whales knew their boat, trusted them to be respectful of their space, which gave the whales freedom to come close or move away as they felt comfortable.

We were a small group of 10 people in a small boat with a sunroof. Our guide Ion, a marine biologist, was fantastic. He shared lots of interesting facts about the whales/dolphins, and the local area in an informative and humorous way. We saw numerous pilot whales and even got to hear them with Ion’s underwater microphone. Nevertheless, Ion was really respectful of the marine life and made sure the animals always felt save and let them come closer only if they chose to. An unforgettable adventure that I would highly recommend to everyone!

Very much enjoyed our tour with Ion and whale watch Tenerife. The boat is comfortable, the trip is educational, and of course seeing the wildlife is rewarding. I particularly liked the very respectful manner in which the animals and the resources are treated. Ion was well-spoken, friendly, completely fluent in English and Spanish, and a gracious host. Our 10 and 13yo boys enjoyed the trip as well. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing tour with Whale watch Tenerife and saw a bottleneck dolphin pod and a pilot whale pod with somw flying fish! Our biologist, Carlota also shared cool insights on the way. Can only recommend!

AI suggested this would make a good outing - and it was right! Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. He spoke multiple languages. We saw a huge amount of Pilot Whales, we saw Turtles & Dolphins too. The boat was small and speedy. This added to our enjoyment. 100% recommend.

It was a unique and amazing experience. I 1000% recommend it for everyone and it worth the money. The tour is 2 hours and you are in a very small boat (only 10 people) which already give the feeling of a private trip. The boat is not going on a pre defined route. Based on the day, weather conditions (and tips what the captain get from his friends on the radio) he goes to the places where we have the most chance to see animals. We were lucky and found 3 big groups of whales The captain (lon) was friendly, tunny and very knowledgeable. He tells you a lot of interesting information about the whales and dolphins. Overall it can really recommend it for anyone who visit Tenerife.

We had an amazing trip, Ion was very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw two pods which was an incredible experience and also done in a completely appropriate way with the animals welfare and habitat totally respected. We did this whale watching eco adventure on 24 September in the morning, together with our guide Ion, and it was absolutely worth it! Ion was a fantastic guide. He told us so much about the animals, the ocean and the surroundings, always with so much passion and genuine love for both the animals and his job. You could really feel how much he cares about what he does. We were also incredibly lucky to have dolphins come right alongside our boat! 🐬 This was such a special moment, and we believe Ion’s patience and respectful way of approaching the animals made a big difference. He took his time instead of rushing, which allowed us to enjoy this beautiful encounter in the best possible way. It was not just a boat trip, but a truly memorable and respectful wildlife experience. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tenerife, and especially if you get the chance to go with Ion! 💙🐬

It was a wonderful experience. We saw pilot whales and dolphins. During the tour we learnt many interesting facts about cetaceans. The tour was on a small boat with a small 10 person group. Both guides were friendly and passionate about whales. Our original date got postponed due to weather conditions. The communication from the operator was clear and they allowed us to reschedule the tour for a different day.

We really enjoyed this experience with a small group of 8 people, while we were watching passing ships and boats with squeezed 60+ people on board. Carlota was extremely knowledgeable and was sharing a lot of interesting facts about marine ecosystem in Tenerife. This experience is slightly more expensive than from other providers, but, trust me, it worths it!

Amazing experience! Everything from the meet-up to end was fantastic. The guide, Ion was absolutely great - friendly, knowledgable, funny and profesional at the same time. He kept making sure everybody was doing alright and that we were having a good experience. You can tell he really cares about the animals and the environment, which is important and amazing to see. We were able to observe dolphins and pilot whales in their natural habitat, which was priceless. 10/10 would recommend!

We had a fantastic whale-watching tour. The weather was beautiful, and we were lucky enough to see so many pilot whales, which made the experience truly special. The team was extremely knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information throughout the tour. What impressed me most was how respectful they were towards the environment and the wildlife. They even stopped to collect plastic from the sea, and they never chased the whales. When the whales approached the boat, they switched off the engine so as not to disturb or stress them. It was wonderful to see how much they genuinely care about protecting the ocean and the animals. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would definitely love to coma back again. Highly recommended!

Couldn't recommend this enough, the small group size means you can get a good view of everything without having to scramble to see. Carlota and our captain were so passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, they really made the experience even better. We saw lots of pilot whales and also managed to se a rare right whale, which the highlight for me was seeimg how excited our crew were about it- it really helped us understand how special and important that sighting was. If you are looking for a boat trip on Costa Adeje definitely book this one.

What an absolutely fantastic experience, thank is to Ion for this tour full of education and genuine care for the sea life. A boat of smaller capacity is the way to go. With just 9 of us on this trip it really meant we had a great experience and interaction with our amazing and knowledgable captain. Whilst it costs more than the other trips it was clear why. They focus on conservation and lower numbers supports this - one to book for sure

Fantastic trip and lucky enough to see Rough toothed Dolphins (rare for Tenerife), Pilot Whales and Bottle Nose dolphins - plus flying fish and plenty of Shearwaters. Crew really responsible and considerate to the wildlife and their guests. Really clear communications and as they take the photos to send on (with a decent Digitial SLR) you can relax and experience the wildlife without trying for the perfect photo.

This experience was one of the best ones in my life!! Carlota was super friendly and explained everything to us. She answered questions about dolphins and whales. Her male co-worker was also super polite and helpful. He also caught plastic trash out of the sea; I think this shows a lot about their attitude towards the nature! Great!! They were also respectful to the animals and explained us when we have to leave them alone. All in all, I felt very safe and happy 🐋 thank you so much!!!

After a successful trip in June 2026 (with Carlotta as our guide), I booked another trip directly with the operator, this time for 27/08/26. Ion was our skipper and guide, and he provided knowledgeable explanations about the different marine mammals we spotted, all delivered with plenty of dry humor. I think this trip offers excellent value for money, and the feeling of spending two hours out at sea is priceless anyway. During both trips (June and August 2026), we saw plenty of dolphins and a few pilot whales each time. Simply priceless! Whale Watch Tenerife is a small operator, but they provide a great service and are highly recommended!

A unforgettable day! We are very lucky to be able to see dolphins twice! And 3 different whales including babies! The guide is very informative & patient. My 8 years old said it’s best ever.

Ion, is an experienced marine biologist with many experiences to share of his time observing local marine wildlife. We saw a pod of very excited dolphins and many pilot whales on our 2 hour tour. This was our family’s second time with this company and guide. We would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to experience the excitement of searching the ocean knowing you’re almost certainly going to see pilot whales and maybe larger whales and dolphins if you’re lucky. This tour is slightly more expensive, but in return you get an exceptional guide who loves and respects the wildlife, a small group of around 12 / 13 people max, and are lower in the water incase the animals want to come and check you out! We would definitely use Whale watching Eco Adventure again 👍🏻

We had an amazing tour! The highlights were seeing a large group of Atlantic spotted dolphins and multiple pods of pilot whales. Our guide, Carlota, was extremely friendly and engaging. Her explanations about the whales' behaviors and nature made the whole experience unforgettable.

We did a 2 hour tour with whale watch tenerife, and we were extremely impressed by how everything was. This is not a party boat, this is for people who really want to see wildlife and learn while being respectful with the ecosystem. Little groups, a real expert biologist as your guide, and 2 fascinating hours of learning about the marine ecosystem of Tenerife and the Canary Islands. We are still in love with their phylosophy of protecting the animals through a respectful and careful approach. We want to also congratulate Ion, our guide, who made this adventure even better. He was very dynamic, easy-going, and you could tell for sure he was an expert on the topic (and a great driver as well haha). All in all, if you really want to enjoy marine wildlife from Tenerife in a respectful and educative way, go with Whale Watch Tenerife!!

We had the most amazing trip today. Patiently we watched, learning about data and how marine life is recorded. And then, as a gift a pod of 15 dolphins rode in the wake of our boat, riding the bow wave, leaping in our wake. The crew were fantastic: relaxed, knowledgeable, and clearly respectful of the animals, keeping a careful distance and letting the dolphins come to us. A special mention for making our son Rollo "marine biologist for the day" — he got his own cap and shirt, helped spot the pod, and learned so much about marine life, recording data and what it is used for. He hasn't stopped talking about it since. Small boat, brilliant crew, wild dolphins on their own terms. Couldn't recommend it more — the highlight of our holiday. Thank you

An unforgettable experience with Whale Watch Tenerife! This trip gave us so many wonderful emotions and memories. We were lucky enough to see whales and other cetaceans in their natural habitat, and it was absolutely amazing! The guides were very friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. They shared lots of interesting information about the whales, their behavior and their life around Tenerife. They also showed us albums with photos and information about different species. One of the most memorable moments was listening to the sounds of the whales communicating underwater. It was such a unique and fascinating experience. The whole trip was interesting, enjoyable, and very well organized. I would definitely recommend Whale Watch Tenerife to anyone visiting the island. 5 stars!

My partner and me booked online with Whale Watch Tenerife after following on Facebook for several months before our holiday to Tenerife. It was worth the wait. We joined the 2.30pm trip at the designated meeting point and was net by Ion, who was to be our very friendly and knowledgeable guide. The boat was small but perfectly formed and felt very safe. We were given safely advice before setting out a well as what to expect. We set out on a bouncy ocean at quite a speed. This was great fun. Before long we found bottlenose dolphins, then quite a few groups of pilot whales. We listened to their clicks and squeaks with an underwater mic and were shown how to identify individual whales. The two hour trip went very quick but we traveled a long way and saw so much in that time. It was one of the most amazing tours I've ever been on and would recommend the company to anyone visiting the area. There are no swim stops, loud music or snacks provided ... this trip is about the wildlife of the ocean. 5* to all concerned.

The operator is truly eco-conscious and demonstrates genuine respect for the marine life, ensuring the animals' well-being always comes first. With a small group cap of just ten people, the tour felt personalized and intimate. From the moment we boarded, the team was wonderfully friendly and created a completely relaxed atmosphere. They provided rich, educational commentary throughout the trip and took the time to answer everyone’s questions. We were fortunate enough to spot turtles, pilot whales, and dolphins! While potential guests should keep in mind that wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, this team delivers a thoughtful, authentic, and memorable excursion. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic time and saw lots of dolphins and pilot whales. Carlotta and Inigo were the perfect guides. My little girl was a little scared at first when the boat went fast but both Carlotta and Inigo went out of their way to make her feel safe and enjoy the tour. Once the dolphins and the whales showed up she was full of smiles. We loved everything about the tour and it wqs fantastic value for money. They are highly recommended! We really enjoyed our whale watching trip. We booked direct and had good communications ahead of joining. Would advise getting a taxi to the marina as parking is busy. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and sent us photos after the trip so we could focus on watching.

My two girls and I booked on the 9.30 am trip this morning. From start to finish it was superb. Carlota and Íñigo were fun, and friendly, and incredibly knowledgable. It was clear how passionate they are about the sea life, and conserving it. We saw both pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins up close, but each time Íñigo allowed them to come to the boat, on the animals’ terms. The whole experience was fantastic and I would book it again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

We had an excellent trip with Carlota and John. Eco friendly was very important for us and the team and trip fulfilled our expectations. These are good,trustworthy people which we can 100% recommend! In addition, we saw an overwhelming number of pilot whales and dolphins. The skipper knew exactly where to find them and kept always a respectful distance to ensure no harm to the animals.

Ion, our guide and was welcoming, friendly and super informed. His knowledge and genuine respect for the Pilot Whales and the Dolphins was clear to see. This is a Rib ride out to sea and safety was prioritised. We learnt a lot about the lives of the animals and how they are protected. I’d encourage everyone to go on this trip which great for both adults and children. Might be worth checking if there is an age restriction on young children though. One of the best whale and dolphin experiences there is.

We saw lots of pilot whales and also Atlantic spotted dolphins including some tiny babies . John was so knowledgeable and you could tell how much he cares about marine life. If you’re thinking of booking whale watching please opt for a company such as this and also please avoid anywhere that has captive dolphins such as aqualand .
