Whale And Dolphin Watching Tour Los Gigantes And Masca In Small Groups

I booked this tour expecting a small group, more exclusive experience. Instead, there were 12 passengers packed into a worn, aging boat with very little personal space. It felt more like being packed in like sardines than the intimate excursion the listing led me to expect. (Tripadvisor) The itinerary itself was fairly basic. We traveled about 5 km offshore, then headed to the coast for a swim and a simple lunch of sandwiches before returning to the harbor. If that’s what you’re looking for, it may be fine, but it was not the premium small group experience I expected. My biggest concern was the operation of the boat. As we departed the dock, the captain forgot to untie one of the mooring lines. The rope snapped as the boat pulled away, which was unsettling and did not inspire confidence. Later during the trip, the captain left the helm two or three times while the boat was still moving. There were no nearby boats at the time, but it still seemed unprofessional and raised questions about safety. It also felt like a tour of this type should have had a second crew member on board. Overall, this experience did not meet my expectations. Between the overcrowded conditions, the condition of the boat, and the concerns I had about how it was operated, I cannot recommend this tour. There are many whale and dolphin excursions in Tenerife, and I would suggest looking at other options before booking this one.

We had a wonderful experience with Francesca and Javier. Francesca was absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. And the captain Javier showed incredible love and care for the marine wildlife. He made certain that none of the animals were in any danger of us and the boat while still making sure we could experience the absolute wonder of seeing a whale in the wild! It was amazing to sail in the sea, see the whales and dolphins, Los Gigantes looked so impressive from the beach. Also amazing sunset just before we ailed into the port.

Fantastic journey with Captain Javier Rivero. Besides the pleasure of a nice sailing day, watching wales and dolphins, the most interesting thing was the lesson that Javier give to us explaining the heritage of the island: culture, lands, soils, animals, the sea… amazing!

Captain Havier very kind and hospitable, the same for Francesca. Unforgettable 4-hour boat ride, with the finale of a breathtaking sunset. We saw a lot of whales and family of dolphins even a turtle. Snorkeling for those who wanted and Snack included in the ticket.

Excellent outing despite the well-formed sea. The boat is very comfortable and efficient but especially the Captain very good navigator. He shared with us his passion and knowledge of the marine world. Complete exit, saw whales, turtles, had a pleasant little snack and enjoyed a small bath with masks and snorkels.. We will certainly renew this exit when we return. A big thank you to Francesca who is very friendly and to the Captain.

Beautiful boat ride of 3 hours. The captain is very nice and made us feel really comfortable! We saw a lot of whales and even a turtle. Snack included in the ticket. Experience highly recommended!

The 4 hour trip with Javier, our captain, was very well organized. We were 9 people plus captain. Because whales had not yet been spotted by other whale watchers on the way out, Javier preferred to visit the beach of Masca, where we had enough time to bathe and where there was enough to drink for the thirsty. Javier then skilfully took us to the places where the pilot whales appeared after hunting for large giant calamamas that were inedible to humans, which was very impressive. The 5-7 meter long animals also "allowed" us to accompany them with our small boat for a time. The whole thing took place in great respect for nature and wildlife. Rounded off and much of what we had seen was explained after returning to the port of Playa San Juan with homemade sandwiches and drinks (water, cola, beer or wine). We were a sympathetic multinational group and received a very friendly welcome from Francesca, who explained details of the 4 hour tour during the analogue ticket sales at the port and later also helped with boarding & disembarking. We did not miss a fresh water shower after bathing. Towels we had ourselves. You should not give up sun protection even in November. Those who are inexperienced at sea should consider taking a non-tiring anti-nausea tablet about an hour before the start of the tour. This increases the comfort and enjoyment of the tour considerably, especially if you don't want to or can't sit at the front of the bow, where it doesn't make you feel so easily sick. Alkerdings, there are always a few splashes of spray on legs or upper body at the bow and decent swell, but this is also close to nature ;-) All in all an absolutely successful and very warmly accompanied excursion, which is highly recommended! It was a beautiful trip. There were a total of 9 people on board with us and the captain. We had enough time to swim in the bay of Masca and you could even rent diving goggles and snorkel. Unfortunately you could not shower after bathing, as there was no fresh water shower on board. The physical well-being was also taken care of. There were drinks and sandwiches.

Sometimes it is the small places that offer great experiences, and the election observation of Playa San Juan was such! The motor yacht is 12 meters long and can comfortably accommodate 12 people. The skipper is very friendly and superbly informed, and the observation itself is very gentle - no comparison to the hunts conducted elsewhere. The final snorkeling in Masca Bay was a wonderful conclusion.

It really was a wonderful experience! We were lucky enough to see many cetaceans and a turtle...Francesca explained a little bit how the way out would be and then Javier the captain has told us many curiosities of the marine life of the Canary Islands! And the excursion includes a very rich peck! We will definitely repeat 👍🏼 super recommended!

I loved it, I had an amazing time as a group with whom I shared the experience. I would repeat the experience again if or if. I recommend everyone to live that experience in the company of loved ones, partners or friends.

On time we started by boat - first seen dolphins and whales - then to the beautiful bay for bathing, snorkeling and relaxing... Small snack and drinks... Good time with friends...!

I highly recommend it, the experience was a 10/10 the super nice walk we did not see dolphins or turtles, but if we saw whales, we also saw them nearby and for quite some time. Then we were in a cove swimming, the capi of the majisimo boat above made us snacks of local products that we do not expect or is great!

It has been one of the most fun, interesting and educational experiences I have ever been. Javi took the whole family to see the dolphins and whales but the most interesting thing that they respect the animals a LOT because they turn off the engines of the boat and the music so that it does not affect them. It is an amazing and super respectful experience with the Canary Islands ocean. Do not hesitate if you want to have a fun and refreshing time with everyone. Suitable for all people (even those who dizzy)

I have not seen more dolphins in my life, we are Canaries and yet, Javi and his team is an experience that transcends the touristic, being not only respectful of space and animals, but also giving a contextual explanation and a formidable experience even for locals. We'll repeat for sure!
