We had a great relaxing experience and were lucky to see dolphins during our trip. The skipper and deck hand for the day were friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable about the dolphins and whales in the area. We highly recommend the tour

We had a great time on La Santa Maria. The crew was very nice, relaxed and answered all our questions. You can see how much they care about the environment and marine life. We encountered some dolphins that even came fairly close to the board and swam / crossed underneath it. The trip on the Santa Maria alone is a beautiful experience, very calming and with a great view of the island and the sea. Seeing the dolphins made everything perfect. We highly recommend taking the trip :)
We had a wonderful experience with WeWhale in Lanzarote. The electric catamaran offers a quiet and respectful way to explore the ocean, far away from the atmosphere of many larger tourist boats. During our trip we were lucky to observe dolphins in their natural habitat and enjoy the stunning scenery of Lanzarote from the sea. What impressed us most was the genuine commitment to marine conservation and education. The crew shared their knowledge with enthusiasm and made the experience both enjoyable and meaningful. If you are looking for a responsible and authentic wildlife experience in Lanzarote, WeWhale is an excellent choice. Highly recommended.
1.000.000/10! Best. Experience. EVER! I was hoping to maybe see a dolphin or two, but I wasn't prepared for the large schools of dolphins that schwamm with us. The feeling was beyond words. We've seen three different breeds of dolphins, from small to really large, and even two sea turtles. I still can't believe my life-long dream came true. The crew is AMAZING, kind towards humans and sea creatures, multi-lingual, and wewhale is absolutely worth supporting. The catamaran is stable, has good seats and even a toilet. But I highly recommend sitting/lying on the nets - around 30 cm or so above the water, closest to the dolphins. Though we something did quite a jump over the waves, I didn't get sea-sick at all. And I usually get sea sick only by watching a ship from a distance.
On 3rd June my husband and I had this trip booked, from arriving at the dock, meeting the crew, boarding, the 4hr trip was fantastic from start to finish. The crew were friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable. We had some students with us aswell, who were equally as friendly. We were offered drinks and snacks throughout, the crew took time to share their knowledge of marine life with us,history of the boat, and they were so passionate about their love for the ocean. We stopped a couple of times at sea to collect waste from the ocean. We Whale do fantastic work with conservation among other things, I'd highly recommend booking this trip, they also have a website to purchase merchandise and profits go to conservation. Fantastic day, thank you all that were onboard today!
That was enjoyable peaceful ,quiet boat experience. Big shout out to the boat crew and other guests ,lovely family from Germany. Thank you Guys.
We had a great time on this trip. It was well-organised, with the team contacting us a day ahead of time to check all was okay with our travel arrangements. Laurène was our main guide and she and the other staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. During the trip we were able to learn a lot about whales and dophins as well as marine ecology in general. We were lucky enough to see two species of dolphin which was a great experience and the staff's enthusiasm was infectious. Many thanks to all for a great and educational trip.
An informative and enjoyable trip with Gonzalo, Silvia and a volunteer from France I have forgotten the name of. Nice human beings. We were lucky to see a pod of 30-40 dolphins and observed them respectively. Having once been on a catamaran trip in another country where a pod of dolphins was mobbed by boats, jet skis, and people dive-bombing into the water, it was great to see WeWhale demonstrating a sustainable and respectful approach.
My partner and I booked the morning 4 hour trip. This was the first of what will hopefully be many dolphin and whale boat trips and were not disappointed. We were greeted, introduced to the crew and briefed on what the trip would entail, where we were allowed to sail and where we couldn't go due to the protected area. We were told where we could and couldn't stand on the boat, what we could and couldn't do. I was pleasantly surprised that within about half an hour a pod of dolphins decided to join us. The crew were so excited and enthusiastic and if it hadn't been for their encouragement I would never have gone onto the net at the front (I'm clumsy and a bit unsteady on my feet) and got amazing photos and videos. Seeing the dolphins up close was amazing. This pod stayed with us for a good half hour. Once they moved off we were offered a hot drink and later fruit and peanuts. It was nothing fancy but it tasted really good after an hour outside and was very much appreciated. After a short while another species of dolphin joined us. The return trip was quiet and peaceful. I'd definitely recommend this trip if you care about the welfare of wildlife, I really like WeWhale's ethos and it's opened up an area of interest for me that I wasn't really aware existed. My only wishes are: 1) a reminder of which dolphins we saw (Tuesday 28/04). 2) the opportunity to maybe buy the photos that some of the crew were taking with their big camera as I'm sure they would be amazing.
dolphins, catamaran, crew, everythinf top
Had a lovely morning today with WeWhale. I love how much the company cares about sustainability and that they even collect plastic out of the sea. It was lovely weather/wind conditions so we were lucky enough to see Small finned Pilot Whales logging in the water. It was amazing to see them there for so long and for the boat engine to stop and even hear their blow holes! No dolphins or turtles sadly but such a lovely ride and well worth the money. Especially as it contributes to the conservation of these creatures as well! Snacks and drinks are provided, a toilet on board (not that we used it). Bring a hat/sunceeam and a jacket in case it’s windy.
We had such a lovely morning out with WeWhale. The team obviously care so much about the animals they're observing and the environment. The volunteers on board were really knowledgeable and friendly. Seeing dolphins swimming right under the boat was an amazing experience. It was our first time to Puerto Callero and an added bonus was the number of different fish you can just see swimming in the marina.
We had a fabulous morning at sea with the crew. They were knowledgeable, interesting and clearly passionate about what they do. It was great to have a quiet and relaxed journey out into the Atlantic, and the small numbers on the trip made it feel intimate. We saw lots of dolphins, and a few turtles, and one turtle was rescued from a huge plastic tub that the crew fished out of the sea. This was really great to see the benefits of looking after the environment, and it was magical to see a turtle up close.
My husband and I had an Amazing trip last week. It had 12 guests on the Catamaran plus two crew. Unfortunately, we didn't see anything, but learnt a lot from the experience and Silvia was very informative about what is possible to see. She explained that there are 31 species to see. We loved to see the ethos of WeWhale. Having a daughter who is in marine biology, we appreciate how respectful these trips have to be. It was interesting to hear the history of the catamaran.
We had a great time going out on the catamaran - close encounters with Rizzo dolphins and the relaxation of being out at sea in near silence. Great crew, with lots of useful info, and hearing the chatter of the dolphins in the ocean around us was amazing. Recommended!
Enjoyed a lovely 4 hours on board this catamaran. The staff were very knowledgable. We spotted a school of 9 dolphins who travelled alongside for an hour. A very enjoyable experience overall.
The catamaran and the crew were excellent. My husband is slightly disabled and they helped enormously to make the trip accessible and comfortable. They were understanding and waited when our taxi was late for the trip and easy to contact to let them know. Unfortunately for us there were no dolphins or whales spotted on the day but we understood that that might not be the case when we booked.
Weather was perfect, fortunately. Sea very calm and no wind. After a friendly and efficient briefing and boarding we headed out to sea expectantly. For an hour - nothing! Then the first sighting of dolphins. A small group of Bottle-nosed and they swam around as we drifted quietly, literally just a few metres away and they could be seen through the clear water as they swam beneath the bow. We moved on towards where another boat was headed and were thrilled to see a group of Pilot whales For the next hour and a half we moved slowly from one group to another and had ample opportunity to take photos and hear the dolphins' clicks and whistles via the hydrophone speaker. At one point when more bottle-nosed joined the group they included a small calf. Altogether we must have seen at least 30 animals before we headed back to shore. An extra highlight was a first ever sighting for me of a flying fish which crossed the bow as it traversed for over 100 metres. We enjoyed the snack of fruit and nuts and drinks as well as seeing Gonzalo and Sylvie collecting items of floating plastic on the return journey as a standard practice on this eco friendly excursion. Both of them were extremely knowledgeable and were able to speak excellent English and French to us as appropriate. Suitable for all ages of adults and would thoroughly recommend the experience.
We booked the whale watching trip with WeWhale and the communication with Gonzalo was excellent throughout. We received clear instructions of where to meet at the marina. Sadly, our taxi driver still dropped us off in the wrong spot. We phoned Gonzalo and he very kindly came and picked up and took us to where the rest of the group were waiting. We really appreciated his speedy help! We had let him know beforehand that my partner (Lindy) had injured her leg and so he and his crew were ready to help her aboard and ensure she was seated safely. So attentive to safety and kind as well. We were offered cool drinks and also fruit snacks whilst aboard. We loved the catamaran trip as there was just 10 people plus crew on board and it wasn’t a ‘party boat’ kind of trip. The crew were very knowledgeable regarding marine life and also the local environment. We would definitely recommend this trip. Thanks so much WeWhale team!! We saw some Gervais Beaked whales, which was amazing
Fantastic experience, booked for my boyfriend’s birthday and it did not disappoint. The boat was clean and comfortable, the crew were extremely friendly and knowledgeable nothing was too much to ask. The snacks on board were delicious and we managed to see 2 species of dolphins during our trip which was amazing. Definitely recommend for an eco friendly dolphin/whale watching experience.
Great trip with friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming crew, were were lucky and got to see an amazing pod of spotted Atlantic dolphins during our trip. Crew were informative and it felt that the trip was as respectful as possible while still getting us close to see the dolphins. Crew even detoured to pick up plastic from the sea while we were out in the ocean, all in all a great experience and with just a small number of us on board and the boats silent electric motors it felt we had the minimum of impact on the wildlife and environment while still having a great whale watching experience.
Often, we are at the mercy of natures schedule and sadly didn't see any dolphins and whales. However, regardless of this, the service, the experience and the company was a joy and the time we had with WeWhale entirely worth it.
We had such a wonderful trip today and Gonzalo and Silvia were fantastic hosts. The boat is beautiful and the trip flew by and it was great knowing how much they care about the wildlife and the ocean. Thank you both for making it as wheelchair friendly as possible.
We didn’t see any whales or dolphins, but the experience with WeWhale Lanzarote was still magical. The sounds of the ocean and the eco-conscious sailing, it was deeply peaceful and grounding. That said… we couldn’t help but chuckle a little at the funeral-like mood among some of the other passengers. Everyone seemed so gloomy, like the whole trip was ruined because they didn’t get a wildlife selfie. But nature doesn’t work on demand, and honestly, just being out there, present in that environment, is the real gift. Huge respect to the crew for their passion, kindness, and commitment to protecting marine life. This isn’t a tourist trap, it’s a soul-nourishing experience. If you're after connection and calm, not guarantees, you'll love it.
What an incredible trip - WeWhale is the pinnacle of ethical whale and dolphin watching! The crew were absolutely lovely and super knowledgeable. We got to glide with a pod of Atlantic Spotted Dolphins for 20/30 minutes, and had the opportunity to hear them on the hydrophone. Even if we hadn’t seen any dolphins, the trip on the catamaran was worth it. We also got to briefly glimpse a leatherback turtle, which I understand are quite rare in Lanzarote! The excitement of the crew when they saw the leatherback was absolutely contagious, and felt very special. Highly recommend for anyone interested in marine wildlife.
This was my second trip on the WeWhale catamaran the crew are excellent and very knowledgeable. We spotted some pilot whales during our trip, last time we were lucky enough to be joined with a school of dolphins. As previous reviews the sightings are not guaranteed. But it is a very worthwhile excursion
We had a four hour sail. Sadly we didn’t see one whale or dolphin, however we appreciate these mammals are wild and do not show up for scheduled timetables. The crew however were very accommodating offering complimentary drinks and snacks. They also gave us a wealth of information on what can be seen and when. Highly recommend even though we didn’t see anywho.es or dolphins. The scenery of Lanzarote alone was worth the sail. Thanks for the experience.
A great half day out at sea with stunning views of the Lanzarote landscape and, with luck, whales and/or dolphins. Friendly, knowledgeable crew.
Booked this trip last minute as I really wanted to see the whales and dolphins and the advert made it seem special. The boat was clean and well kept and the crew friendly and informative. We sailed out a long way and with the sea breeze and sun disappearing behind clouds quite often it did get a bit nippy out there so best to take layers in case you need to wrap up at times. Snacks and drinks were offered throughout the trip which was fab and we managed to catch the spout of a Brydes whale at one point on the way back. No dolphins seen unfortunately. I was a bit disappointed overall with the trip as the advert stated that the trip was on a silent vessel and had a hydrophone so I was hoping to listen to them during the trip even if I couldnt see them. This was not deployed at all throughout the trip and I asked a crew member on the way back about it. I was told that is only used if sat amongst a group of dolphins and they can then lower it in and let people listen. For the price of the trip (£80 each) I did expect more than just a normal whale and dolphin spotting trip when this was part of the advert and sadly didn't get it on this occasion. I can't see it being able to be used very often by the sounds of it either? Also when we spotted the whale the boat stayed very far away from it which we understood but we felt a pair of binoculars might have been more beneficial to see more of the whale in this case? We could barely see it from such a distance. The crew member had a set of binoculars to spot the whales but passengers weren't given any. This may be something the tour operator could offer if guests wanted a better view. It was a nice few hours out but we didn't feel it was worth the £160 paid. Hopefully some of the money goes to the conservation of the dolphins and whales.
I read reports that this rip was expensive and at 85 euros it seems that way especially if you compare with the tourist trips with their huge numbers and emphasis on getting you out and back ready for the next trip. I took the We Whale trip from Los Gigantes in Tenerife and the cost compares well with other low number trips in the area. Our boat had 9 paying guests plus 2 crew who were informative and great spotters - we saw both pilot whales and dolphins - we with the whales for at least 3/4 hour. Emphasis is upon a quiet approach so that the animals reman calm and the electric engines and skilled navigation both help to achieve that. And the whole trip is dedicated to whale watching - no paella, no swim under the cliffs - just nature in the wild. The company says this is the future of whale watching I really hope they are right. Finally, the cost might exclude a family of four but if you are a keen naturalist this trip is really one for the bucket list.
What an amazing day. Beautiful scenery, amazing catamaran, professional service from start to finish. The environmental ethos was a refreshing change from other boat trips we have been on, and as we scoured the sea for a glimpse of a whale or dolphin we also kept our eyes peeled for plastic waste which the team collected. The sight of a hammerhead shark was very exciting and then later on a large pod of Atlantic spotted dolphins joined us and played around our boat for over 20 minutes. It was an exhilarating experience, and we would highly recommend the We Whale team.
Knowledgeable and friendly crew. A lovely way to see the coastline on a very impressive vessel. Served a picnic towards the end of the trip while the sun set .q
We didn’t see dolphins or whales and this of course you cannot predict as they won’t always be around. That said I thought the price of €80 was very expensive for a four hour cruise. Some bananas, dried fruit and fruit juice was offered as a snack and they guys running it were nice enough but it was just too expensive and I wouldn’t do it again
A lovely trip on a lovely boat from Denia. Raul & Logain were great hosts explaining lots about the boat, the area and the important work that WeWhale do. Sadly we didn’t see any whales or dolphins but it was a lovely morning and we definitely enjoyed ourselves and recommend it. And Logain, we hope that Florence is feeling better now.
Our family of four booked the whale and dolphin trip from 9am - 1pm. We drove and it was very easy to park right next to the catamaran. I had set expectations with the kids that we might not see anything, but at the very least would have a fun boat trip on the sea. So imagine our surprise when we came across a group of dolphins in the first 20 minutes of the trip! We had a proper good look at them and sailed alongside them for a while. For most of the rest of the trip we just enjoyed the ride itself: the kids loved the novelty of being on a small catamaran, sitting on the nets and climbing around the different areas. Even going to the toilet was an experience in itself for my son! Towards the end of the trip we got lucky again and encountered a lone whale. The whole boat went on high alert looking around to see where the whale would surface next. It was exhilarating, especially when you caught a glimpse of it! We would like to thank Gonzalo and the rest of the crew for such an awesome time, that our kids will surely be talking about for years to come.
Kind and excellent captain, amazing catamaran, beautiful dolphins and whales (yes, we saw both). Supporting the whale preservation is really important and this NGO does a good job. Other comments about great explanations by the team are on point.
Our family of four greatly enjoyed the trip we took with WeWhale. The crew was incredibly warm and kind and when we had a slow start to seeing dolphins they brought out educational materials to teach the children about the native animals. It is obvious that the crew lives and breathes conservation. Excellent company!
The best money I've ever spent on an experience. The crew were fantastic and even though we only saw a whale spout and some hyperactive tuna, this didn't detract from the trip. The crew are knowledgeable and massively respectful of the environment, we stopped to pick up rubbish their passion for what they do obvious! I totally forgot to buy a we whale jumper but luckily found their website and also discovered all the other projects the company run, contributions to the conservation project are part of the ticket and shop sales which is fab. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone. Thankyou for an ace experience!
Had an amazing 4 hour dolphin experience with very kind ,friendly and extremely knowledgeable crew. We saw 3 different species of dolphins jumping around the catamaran, mums with calves ,tail slapping and bowriding playing around the boat for most of our trip and the hydrophone was amazing they are so so talkative its unbelievable. I loved every second of the trip and will be going on another trip in the near future. It was also amazing to watch how skilful the staff are collecting plastic from the sea. An unbelievable life experience Thanks wewhale x x
From beginning till the end it was amazing. We saw a lot of dolhpins and even a whale! Our kids (3,9,10) were enthousiastic and verder happy. The crew was very nice and helpful. There was food and drinks, a blanket for my daughter and a bucket (i was a little seasick) for me. You could ask them anything. We cant thank you enough for an experience we willen never forget!
A fantastic experience with very knowledgeable crew , definitely recommend and support this initiative Following a pod of dolphins was amazing
The crew is very friendly, conscious about the environment and passionate about what they do. We were lucky to see many dolphins on the tour. The calm pace of the electric Catamaran made it a very relaxing experience.
We wanted to watch whales but don’t like mass tourism. Lots of noise, many people, big boat. We wished for sth more private and with crew that loves what they do and knows a lot of about those animals and respects them. This was excatly what we whale team is. They have great knowledge about the animals, they care about them and meet them with respect. On top of that they re funny and friendly people. We had great time with them and would recommend it to everyone! They even serve soft drinks from sustainable producers supporting the ocean with each purchase and part of the revenue goes to whale association! How great is that? Thank you very much for having us on board!!!
Wonderful seeing the dolphins in there natural habitat- and staff very knowledgeable about marine conservation- a must see
We were not lucky with our whale and dolphin spotting - it was just not the right day, with not a single sighting... but we spent a magical few hours on the water with a friendly, competent and informative crew who made our day a moment to treasure. The last few miles under sail-power with a decent wind were brilliant and made up for the disappointment of not meeting the dolphins.
We had a great day on this lovely Catamaran, which has raced across the Atlantic twice in it’s previous life. All credit to this new venture, who have taken the trouble to convert the boat to fully electric, making it eco-friendly to go out to the whales and dolphins, as well as sustainable. This is the kind of new business we should all support. The crew were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the wild life and local marine geology. Although we did not see much on the day, it did not matter. We still learned a lot and had a great sail at sea. Highly recommended.
Dear Silent Catamaran Lanzarote team, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible experience I had on your whale and dolphin observation tour. The silent catamaran was a truly unique way to explore the waters surrounding Lanzarote, and the opportunity to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat was nothing short of breathtaking. From start to finish, the tour was expertly organized and executed, and the crew was exceptional in every way. Their knowledge of the local marine life and dedication to the safety and comfort of all passengers was evident throughout the entire trip. I particularly appreciated the eco-friendly and sustainable approach that the company takes to its tours. It was clear that the team takes the protection of the environment and its inhabitants seriously, and this made the experience all the more meaningful. Overall, I cannot recommend Silent Catamaran Lanzarote enough. It was truly the highlight of my trip, and I will treasure the memories of this once-in-a-lifetime experience forever. Thank you for providing such a remarkable tour and for your commitment to responsible tourism.
It’s a totally amazing experience! Really nice way to enjoy nature and respect the sea animals! Congrats for this new project. I’ll black soon.
Équipage sympathique et accueillant mais le rapport qualité prix n y est pas. Pommes, bananes, fruits secs, nescafé à l eau tiède et un fond de gobelet … le confort pourrait être nettement amélioré , dommage
I booked this outing hoping to have the chance to observe cetaceans or other inhabitants of the ocean, we had ideal conditions, but our friends of the oceans remained hidden. We dealt with passionate people who were attentive to our well-being, with a magnificent commitment. We are delighted with our sea outing in the calm, the respect for the ocean and the magnificent view of Lanzarote.
