Nice tour, beautiful scenery, informative guide and learned the history of the island. We had a great time!

Absolute shambles booked through hotel who told us Friday was only day as english ,on pick up driver told us that of the 5 vehicles on tour we would be only english speaking guests as rest were French. Didn't understand any of the commentary due to language barrier,at lunch we were sat away from group and in a room of our own ( which two of the lady's on our van approached and asked if we were ok and remarked that rest of group were commenting how unfair it was on us) The only saving grace was the driver Neil who spoke english and went out of his way to tell us as much as he could when commentary stopped, he was a true gent and made the day enjoyable in a poor situation caused by his employers. Cant thanks Neil.enough he really is a diamond.
We did a tour on La Gomera, stayed on the island. To start with the positive: the tour itself was ok, not very original though. The bad part: the seating within the jeep was really really uncomfortable, we are about 1,80, unthinkable for even taller people. The worst part: our German speaking guide didn’t explain anything, he basically dropped us off and didn’t say another word. Truthfully - the whole tour was a big waste of time and money. Not recommendable. The worst part: the company didn’t even reply to my complaint. Unprofessional.
Really lovely tour, nicely paced. Plenty of time to explore and take pictures. We were small group of just 3 people so there was plenty of space in the van to spread out. Our tour guide and driver Hendrik was friendly and told us some very interesting facts about the island. It was a really lovely day! Thank you
Neil was knowledgeable and very informative about many aspects of living in Tenerife. His local knowledge avoided traffic at the busier tourist sites. From the South, we drove along the coast to Masca, Garachico, Icod De Los Vino and on for lunch in La Orotava (near Puerto De La Cruz). After lunch, we cut through the centre of the island passing near the summit of Teide and the National Park. In many places, the roads were narrow and the inclines were steep. We were in a Mercedes people carrier - total group of eight. We enjoyed the company, and the tour was conducted in English. We were collected from near our hotel at 8.15am and dropped back to the hotel at approximately 5pm. The meal was standard but fine. We ate in a lovely 400 year-old building. We saw places we would never have gone to by ourselves and there were lovely opportunities for photos. The scenery was amazing and the towns were each worth a much longer visit to explore them. The only issue with this trip is that there was not enough time to explore the various locations but it was so much better than driving yourself! Thank you Neil. Good job!
Very disappointing and not worth the money. However I must begin by complimenting our driver, Robert, on his excellent driving skills which averted at least 4 collisions but he was not a guide… This was basically a high priced taxi ride around one third of the island in a decrepit and loud mini van which rattled to the extent that without any form of communication system the few words of information imparted by the driver could only be heard by the client sitting in the front seat. The itinerary was followed but at each stop all we got was an instruction to be back at a certain time. We alighted the van at the Drago point without any idea of the importance of Drago and if it hadn’t been for a client with a mobile phone, we would have remained ignorant of why we were there. The same applied for each and every stop. Lunch was very ordinary. This was most certainly not a VIP experience and all 7 of us were very dissatisfied!
A nice trip if you want to see a popular turistic spots in Tenerife in short time. Some stops could keep at least 10 minutes more, to explore and enjoy the place ( mainly Masca). From my point of view, I would omit lunch at La Otorava from this trip. The appetizer was tasty ( olives, typical spanish cheese and salami). But we had warm wine as aperitive. The soup was not tasty and not only in my opinion, the dessert too. The canary potatoes were very tasty. The whole trip was informative becase the guide explained the whole history and interesting things of the island in the funny way.I liked it at Icod de Los Vinos in the souvenir shop, where there was a tasting of sauces, jams and Canarian alcohol. The store was nice with interesting assortment, but some things were very overpriced compared to other similar stores on the island.
We did this last week and really enjoyed it! We booked via our hotel and didn't realise it was in a minivan and were hoping for a 4x4. We booked as English speaking but I think were were the only ones as were were moved vans at the first stop - the van we moved into was a van with German speakers and we could sense the disappointment that some of the talk would need to be in English. (Please note, we both speak French also, and it isn't that we think everyone should speak English for us, it was that we booked as English Speakers to be able to be put with other English speakers like we have on previous trips and weren't) However, our guide was great and spoke both English and German where she could! We did think it was a tour around the whole of the island, but it wasn't but still a great tour - saw some lovely views and had a good lunch included. The lunch included water and wine, however only Red which a couple of our group didn't drink. And a massive thank you for our guide dropping us back to our hotel (the pick up was 15 min walk from our hotel, which we didn't understand as no one else was picked up there... but appreciated being dropped back to our own hotel!)
What a day! One of the very best excursions/trips we have ever been on. Extremely well organised and made 100 times better with having Colin as our guide. Colin was amazing, and kept the day fun, as well as being extremely educational. The company are very lucky to have Colin, and hope he gets the recognition he deserves. Will recommend!
We had Colin as our tour guide and he was amazing, he was very engaging and informative, telling us lots about the history of the area alongside some jokes to keep it lighthearted. As it was only the 2 of us in the English speaking group, he made the extra effort to show us some extra sightseeing spots which we loved! Would highly recommend this tour, especially with Colin!
Expert guide, everything well presented. Enjoyed whole day in a comfortable coach. Sailing well organised.
I was in Tenerife with my wife for the honeymoon and we did both Tenerife gran tour and La Gomera Jeep safari with Tamaran. it was a pleasant two days, both guides (Marco and Franci) were very helpful in providing information and friendly in satisfying our requests! recommended
If you’re looking for a reliable, high quality tour company I cannot recommend this firm highly enough. I spent hours researching ahead of my trip, & by combination of itineraries offered & glowing TripAdvisor reviews, decided upon Tamaran. Top choice! My first trip was a private tour of the North. This itinerary includes Teide, Garachico, Icod de Los Vinos, &, best of all, the stunning town of Oratova. It’s also available as a group tour, but as these didn’t fit my dates I bit the bullet & kicked off with a private trip. I was so lucky to be allocated the amazing Frankie as my driver/guide. He’s local, so knows the island inside out, but having lived in England for extended periods, is also fully fledged in the English language, & British culture, meaning he gets all the in-jokes & nuances of British life. Previous reviewers on this platform have referred to him (& he’s become a little bit legendary for), his phrase ‘Amazing innit!’ Such is his genuine love for the island. He was the perfect companion for a private tour, plus, as a solo female, I felt really comfortable & safe in his care. Frankie also speaks fluent Italian (in addition of course, to his native tongue). You’re in for a fab time if he leads your tour. If he doesn’t, I’d still highly recommend Tamaran. They respond immediately & personally to emails & are extremely obliging of personal requests. It’s a well run, long established set up, specialising in small group trips. A further bonus is that their tours expressly do not do touristy, commercial, back hander stops at local hawkers. I went on to do two additional (group) tours; an all day excursion to stunning La Gomera, & a trip to the North East, taking in La Laguna, Anaga, Taganana, Las Teresitas & Candelaria. All trips had less then 8 people & included lunch with wine, & hotel drop off. Covid precautions were strictly adhered to. I had an amazing time on each of the trips - & feel so glad that I chose Tamaran to introduce me to the island.
This trip was amazing. The island is great and the tour has many stops. We loved the stops on the Teide but actually there are so many beautiful spots. And Frankie made it AMAZING! You can tell he is very passionate about his job and knows almost any fact and story on the island. He is interacting with the people, the nature (he stops regularly to let you see or smell the special flowers or cacti) and waves to the locals. His British accent is lovely and make sure to ask him about the whistle language! This all was so worth the price!
We saw a number of great sites and towns. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. There was a delicious meal included in the price of the trip. Don't be silly like me and bring winter clothes for when you step outside the volcano part. I recommend this trip without reservations, it's worth it
We did the VIP Island Highlights Tour. Good organisation, driver (on the very twisty roads) was great. Our Guide Frankie was superb. If you go on this tour and are lucky enough to get Frankie... you will understand when I say it was Amazing .....Innit!
Money well spent. Our driver/ guide Nancy was fantastic and we had a great time. If you are short of time , would strongly recommend this tour
We booked this tour in order to visit parts of the island that we would not normally see and to get a flavour of the different aspects of island life. This certainly lived up to our expectations and we manged to see many different sides to this island. The part of the trip through the forest was marred by the fact that it rained almost the whole time so many of the scenic parts we had to miss, however that was not the fault of the tour operator so that was just our bad luck. The tour driver was Franke who gave an almost non-stop delivery of the history and culture of the parts we visited. His good local knowledge was amazing and coupled with his good humour made for a very enjoyable day out. Negatives – the lunch was adequate but not outstanding. Our pick up was at 08:25 and we were taken across to Las Americas to join our tour and the journey was then back across the way we had come so we spent almost 1 hour toing and froing before, for us the tour proper started. Summary – really good day trip, great driver and guide, well worth the effort.
Communication with Tamaran during booking and leading up to the day of the tour was quick and simple and directions to the meeting point were thorough. Our tour took us to Masca, Garachico, the Dragon Tree, La Orotava for lunch and Mount Teide National Park. Time spent at each destination was quite adequate but the lunch was slightly disappointing.
Frank was our tour guide and he was absolutely OUTSTANDING. We were so impressed at how he kept his energy up all day and continued to be informative, charming and terribly funny from the first minute until the last. We were a small group of 6 and he really made the effort to get to know us. La Gomera itself is wonderful and I would recommend anyone visiting Tenerife to go and take a look. Pete
We had a very nice roadtrip to Masca, Garachico, Incid de los Vinos, Orotava and el Teide National Park. We were picked up in time and our driver (Frank) made us feel welcome. We were joined by two more English and then met up with the rest of the group (in different vans). The morning went by fairly quick stopping at Masca (WONDERFUL) and Garachico (NICE) and Incid de los Vinos (Drago Tree). Then we had lunch in Orotava. The restaurant was nice in a very antique house. After lunch we made our way up to the Teide National Park where we stayed a bit to enjoy views and atmosphere. All in all a very enjoyable trip and good idea to get to know the diversity of the island.
We have just returned from a fab holiday one of the highlights being the V.I.P Highlights tour with Mr. (amazing init) Frankie. Our fellow travellers were all impressed with Franks knowledge and information of the island. Our trip started from our hotel in Los Gigantes we went along the coast stopping at a small coastal village with the smallest church ever then on inland to La Laguna where we stopped for a little sightseeing. Next up to the forest where we stop for time for a walk and photo opportunities, from there down to the coast for a delicious lunch in a restaurant with more views. On to a beach on the outskirts of Santa Cruz after a quick paddle through Santa Cruz and then down to Candelaria and back to Los Gigantes. FAB thanks Frank
8am start met by Frankie, our guide for the day, this tour is well worth it. You get to see parts the larger coaches couldn't get to and learn some of the history surrounding the area. Frankie is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and funny. The vehicle is an 8 seater so plenty of room. The tour from the South heads to the old capital, then right up to the north for dinner before heading south again along the coast. Dinner was enjoyable with a view and a half and on the way back stopping to view the 'Black Madonna' and grab an ice cream. I would certainly recommend this tour and on a personal note would like to thank Frankie for introducing my youngest to 'innit', cheers.
we went with these vip on minibus fantastic !!!!!!!! Nicolas was our driver could not do enough for my disabled partner who has to walk with a stick .frank our guide was good laugh aint it frank ,would recomend this trip to any-one had a great time thanks guys
This tour is sold as wheelchair friendly when it is not at all. Even the restaurant you chose did not have a disabled toilet and all toilets were accessible via high steps. Don't book this trip if you can't walk well.
I had a wonderful time; the guide was fantastic. I learned a lot about Tenerife that I didn't know. The lunch was also great. If I go on another excursion again, I will definitely choose you. Thanks again to the guide, who spoke Spanish and Dutch.
José Luis was our tour guide; he shared interesting information about the island in a humorous and versatile way. During the trip itself, you were able to gather many impressions without feeling overwhelmed. Sufficient stops were included, as well as a delicious lunch. Personally, I have no complaints. You saw a lot in one day. Paco was our driver, he was very personable and the ride was very pleasant. The car was air-conditioned and clean. A definite recommendation!
Great tour Marco and Giuliano top
We have already booked three VIP tours directly with the Tamaran in Germany without intermediaries - everything went flawlessly. Even on site everything went well from picking up to bringing back. Our guides Alex, Thomas, driver Nestor were very entertaining, informative. The tours were well organized. With minivan you can even get to La Gomera wherever big buses don't come. You had enough time to look at something, eat something or take pictures. It was really great, safe, convenient and interesting-many for it!
We left Costa Adeje with the ride Thomas. The man was great. Very well driven and told us a lot of information about the Canary Islands and Tenerife. Unfortunately, not everyone in the van cared and unfortunately talked very loudly. Now for the journey. Have the indicated destinations only approached and max. 20 to 30 minutes at leisure. Unfortunately, there was not enough time to move from the parking lots to a cafe, have a coffee, use the toilet and back to the van. The stop in National Park del Teide Cañada Blanca Visitor Center was very pleasant with almost 40 min. Would the tour, not book more. Is as I mean, also not recommended for older people , as a lot of offers and only driven as described and quickly gone again.
Guide 10 Driver 10 Experience 10 The only thing to clarify with the tour operator who uses them is whether it is indifferent for you to have children on board. Today the time spent on board the bus a nightmare.... a family that thought well to make their children complain all the time..... my head bursts. But I give it top marks because the incivility of the family is not Tamaran's fault.
Beautiful excursion to discover the peculiarities, naturalness and tradition of the island of Tenerife. The Italian guide, MARCO, perfect, accurate and passionate about what he explains. For many years now, he has known the island like the back of his hand. During the excursion he is the added element, giving information as if he were telling a story completely involving the listener. You can feel his dedication to his work. MARCO, 10 star luxury guide.
Very nice course with lots of beautiful things to see!! Manuela, Extra guide who taught us a lot about the island (history, vegetation, culinary,....) thank you very much for a beautiful day 🙂
The meeting place indicated at 08h on a shopping center parking with departure at 08h20. We decide to leave our hotel early so we cannot have breakfast. We arrive at 8 am and already various vehicles from a tour organization (the name is not mentioned on the tickets or on tripadvisor) come and go. You will not know what your vehicle is, you have to ask every time. We call at 08:10 already and the driver tells us (not in our language while the tour is in French) that he arrives in 10 minutes. In fact, after more than fifteen vehicles arrive without you knowing what it is, still nothing. It's 08:35 and not our vehicle, not even a call to inform us. Every driver seems to give a damn. At 08:45, we decided to give up, fearing that the day would be even more unpleasant. It's 9:30, and no one cares what could have happened to us. With so little attention, at this price, run.
We did the Vip tour excursion of Tenerife with Marco, experienced driver and very knowledgeable guide, it was a fantastic experience. We left with a very comfortable Minivan, we visited Masca, Icod de Los Vinos, Gararchico and especially the Teide National Park. Highly recommended!
The tour is really well organized and the guide Marco was fantastic. Nice and very knowledgeable. He knows everything. We went to Masca, with breathtaking views of the valley, to Garachico, with the beautiful natural pools, to Icod de Los vinos, where we had lunch, and finally to Teide park. The last stop was a marvel, Teide is worth the whole excursion and above all Marco's explanations made the tour truly fascinating. Without his guidance, the Teide park would have lost a lot.
With a 3 year old child, this excursion was ideal! We certainly stay in the car most of the time where it is very hot, but it allows us to see everything there is to see on the island in a single day! Our guide didn't speak our language but that didn't stop us from laughing with him and enjoying the moment! You can go there without basketball if you want to watch without walking, anything is possible! I recommend. Warm and caring welcome throughout the day. Thank you !
After my pick up from the north of Tenerife I went over the west to Las Christianos. Once there a redistribution of passengers and off we went to the ferry Fred Olsen Express. Arriving in San Sebastian der la Gomera we take our stations away in the van. It was an experience but the drivers knew their vehicles and the track. The surroundings changed from the city to the savannah and after a jump to the top to green bushes and trees. Our driver also picked us a fig (?). At the stations or on the way, the guides told us the history of the area and should not tell the area anything about the islanders or the island. We had lunch in the Laurel Forest with Erika trees. Accompanied by the islanders' whistle language and a sad love story. At the next stop the access to the glass floor was unfortunately blocked, it went steeply down below the floor. This was followed by a stay at an aloe vera plantation and an explanation of the plant and its use. Finally, about an hour in Los Christianos with a return trip by Fred Olsen Express. A successful tour
I had booked a VIP Tour 2 people, price 79,- € each, for 11.12.21. Pick up: Hotel Landmar Costa los Gigantes One person dropped out and the bus driver promised a refund. Nothing happened. Twice I have claimed this by email. Tamaran hasn't even given an answer. I'm back in Germany now and maybe now you're for the Entrepreneur uninteresting. Therefore my review for the Enterprise : Untrustworthy.
We had this wonderful experience with Marco Italian guide very prepared and very nice to whom however we did not ask for information on what to visit in case we return .. thanks also to Riccardo our nice driver .. recommend trying to do the tour with them .. we if we return to Tenerife hope to happen again with them .. thanks Alps club
We toured the island with our guide Marco and had a great time! We really want to thank him for everything he told us about the “isla bonita” and “the only fruit of love”.... we are really proud that there are compatriots like him who make us live beautiful holidays abroad.
Fantastic experience. Tour of the island of tenerife with the guide Marco, very professional, nice and attentive to every detail. Tour started with a visit to the village of Masca and continued towards the Teide National Park with short stops at strategic locations, such as banana crops and the villa used for the filming of Fast and Furious 6. Super recommended experience. Special thanks to the guide Marco.
Great experience! Breathtaking landscapes from the south to the north of the island. Everything was made possible thanks to the great professionalism, helpfulness and friendliness of the guide Marco who we also thank for the special attention had for our little girl. Super recommended!
Breathtaking landscapes of Teide and surroundings. Wonderful views from the top of the coast. Great experience!
We travel first by ferry and then by bus all day. We traveled almost the entire island, the Teide area is beautiful, I recommend it. There really are magnificent landscapes.
Thomas was our guide and it was very informative we were a purely German group therefore no translations were necessary we were explained a lot and all questions answered with a little humor we can only recommend it. The journey takes approx. 10 hours
5 bujes in a row. Only the front one speaks, not clearly understood, by postage through all the vans, but drives at least 100 meters before the last van. So what is the last van you should see again? There was no interaction whatsoever: own driver only spoke Spanish, so he could not be asked a question on the way! Lunch was terribly bad. So for that money (€79 pp!!) better do your own research and rent a car!
