Tenerife: First-time Scuba Diving In A Natural Turtle Habitat

I had a very good experience. The divers were very helpful. Initially I panicked as I am not a swimmer and had to come back to the boat but diver Dave later came to me, took me on 1:1 and was very gentle, patience and reassuring me every step of the way. He made me feel comfortable and I was able to go under water though I came back up before we could get to the bottom of the sea. It’s really a good experience and I’ll cherish the photos for as long as I could. It’s totally worth trying.

Great experience, highly recommended while in Tenerife

As someone trying scuba diving for the very first time, I was both excited and a little nervous. Unfortunately, I had difficulty equalizing my ears, and it quickly became a stressful situation for me. Some might say I am too old for diving but that doesn't stop me, I was a competitive sportsman all my life after all. What made all the difference was my instructor, Kirsty. She was exceptionally patient, attentive, and professional throughout the entire dive. She immediately recognized how I was feeling and adapted everything at my pace. At every moment, I felt safe, supported, and completely confident in her leadership. She stayed calm, remained in control of the situation, and never made me feel rushed or like I was holding anyone back. Looking back, I realize how important it is to have the right instructor when you're trying something completely new, and I truly couldn't have asked for a better one. Thank you, Kirsty, for your patience, kindness, and professionalism. You turned what could have been a disappointing experience into a positive and unforgettable one. I sincerely hope everyone experiencing scuba diving for the first time is lucky enough to have an instructor like you. I would recommend this dive center to anyone, especially first-time divers.

The instructor Dave was very lovely and patient when teaching us how to dive. They are very safe and precautions which is so helpful when trying something like this for the first time. The group is even smaller than expected and they make sure to get so many photos and videos for you (even though you have to pay it’s definitely worth it). Would recommend this experience!

The information & safety instructions were thorough & engaging before we left. Our instructor Romana was incredibly patient, kind & reassuring. I was anxious about breathing under water & she took time to settle me & guide me through it, I really felt we were in safe hands & it helped me to feel completely at ease & comfortable once we reached the bottom. The boat trip to the diving location was good fun, we saw turtles from the boat & then lots of beautiful fish, octopus & starfish whilst scuba diving. Excellent value for money, we paid €25 to get the various photos & videos which were great quality & plenty of them. We would definitely recommend & would love to do it all over again!

Brilliant place great staff everyone is very friendly and very helpful. Got to see loads of fish, sea creatures and dolphins. A massive thanks to Elena who looked after me on my dive , I never felt unsafe at any time. I would highly recommend the place and I will be going back next year probably for two dives this time.

The stuff was very nice even from beginning. The instructor was funny and the crew created a nice atmosphere! It was the first time diving for both of us and it was very nice and fun. Very safe too! I am a little bit disappointed because we didn’t see any turtles 🥲

This was our first time diving and our instructor was absolutely amazing. Helped us feel at ease the whole time and was very patient when I was a bit scared at first.

It was brilliant from start to finish! We received a relaxed briefing/H&S talk & equipment fitting, then out to the boats. We were probably lucky as we saw a brief glimpse of flying fish & dolphins on our way out. Our 13yo received 1:1 mentoring with Romana & my wife & I had the mad German Toby whose madness & enthusiam shone!! Toby was very patient in guiding my wife down to the seabed as she had a few issues adjusting her ears to the pressures & then when we got down there he both gave us space to explore whilst guiding us expertly to view a ray & shoals of fish etc. Romana brought Caleb to us for a photo opportunity underwater, where Toby produced some magical bubble shapes (???). By all accounts Romana was great with him, they also saw an octopus or squid hiding in a crevice during their explorations. We were all guided back up to the surface & stripped of our gear to allow us to enjoy a snorkel around before re -boarding the rib. On the way back despite a little nausea setting in with at least one of us, we saw a turtle surface for a few moments and an incredibly long flight of a flying fish very close by our speeding boat. Thanks to all the staff both on board & in the office, truly fantastic & at less than the cost of 3 fast passes at Siam Park, glad which option we chose!! Ginger, Vick & Caleb x

It was great! Brief but very clear information before the dive. We have dived with our 2 kids, 10y and 13y. They loved every second of it. Everything is taken care of, just jump in the water, and the friendly diving instructors guide you down and are making sure you feel OK. We have seen many fish in the water and on our way back to the harbor 2 big turtles.

Everything was great, guide was good, for the first time amazing. Turtles were not there, but we could watch beautiful fishes.

It was my first diving, and I am Beyond thankful for my instructor Romana, she was checking on me every inch making sure I am feeling ok and we can dove further . Unfortunately, we didn’t see many fishes ( and I was hoping for turtles) but experience itself was great for the first time divers

We took activities form the same company-they offer scuba diving for beginners and snorkeling trip together. This is very good activity fot whole family. Meanwhile we enjoyed snorkeling the adult son did his first scuba dive. He did his first 12 m with a instructor Elena. She is very professional and experienced instructor. I very very recomend.

Very cool and fun thing to do with a friend or family. Easy to learn to scuba dive and lots to see and cool pics.

Instructors as friendly as they are professional. Amazing experience. A plus that I was the only person who had booked the 8:30 trip and was essentially one to one with the instructor. So if you’d want a quieter experience, that was my personal experience at that time. Plenty of wildlife to see and explore. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thanks so much guys.

Speechless! Davide was a great instructor and made me feel beyond comfortable and safe even though this was a daunting experience. All of the staff seemed to be super dedicated to client safety and the environment. Engines were off when we saw dolphins & sharks and they were all super well knowledgeable on the area. I was so nervous however all of the staff were great and provided amazing support throughout. 10/10 recommend.

All is explained a few times, you get a sit down 10 min class in a classroom. Then a fast boat ride out to the dive sight (very fun and exhilarating). Then the dive itself is carried out in pairs, 2 persons to an instructor. Very professional. Tanks are put on in the water. Its quite a shocking experience to begin with, you might hyperventilate or think you cant do it. Just stick at it and trust the instructor. As soon as you get on the seabed all fear goes away and tunrs into traquil bliss. What an amazing 1st dive experience!! Defo recommend if you have always wanted to dive. You also get 30 mins snorkeling too, unaded. So make sure you get some practice in 1st if you are not confident snorkeling on your own.

Can’t fault - all staff was knowledgeable, professional and very helpful - marine life was on show - would recommend to anyone who’s wants to try scuba

We’ve just returned from an amazing diving experience with Sub Travel Dive in Tenerife and couldn’t be happier! Our kids successfully completed their diving certification with them, and the entire team was incredibly attentive, professional, and kind throughout the process. Everything was clearly explained, and we always felt safe and well taken care of. They took us to stunning dive sites, and the whole experience was both exciting and relaxing. A special thank you to Romana – the kids absolutely adored her – and to Elena for the fantastic organization and support. Scuba diving for a short time but you get the full feel. Guides were great! Lots of staff support. Not scary at all (well a little)

This was a brilliant experience from the start and all the way through. My instructor I'm sorry I can't remember his name, was excellent with his introduction, diving skills and very patient. They really make you feel welcome, brilliant facilities,toilets and showers afterwards. The actual diving was out if this world the sights were fantastic. Swimming along the bottom exploring looking into caves and following the contours of the seabed. Seeing all the fish just swimming around was great. Would thoroughly recommend it great experience and good value for money

First time going, instructors was really friendly and patient considering how nervous I was at first. Was something I've always wanted to do and I'm so happy I did. This was a memory il be forever greatful for loved it. Can't recommend enough if your thinking about do this book it you will not regret it

It was my first time trying snorkeling and scuba diving, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. Special thanks to Romana, my instructor, for patiently guiding me through the process and being so friendly. In a way, she even inspired me to consider becoming an instructor myself! :)

Incredible location on the front at Los Christianos, Toby and Martin were fantastic dive instructors, really good energy throughout, the pictures turned out brilliantly and we saw some of the amazing wildlife, all topped off by a friendly Max at the reception who couldn't be more helpful

One of the best experience of my life! Learn how to dive with super clear explanations and explore the deep and its beauty (turtles, dolphins, …) A huge thanks to all the crew and a special big up to Martin for guiding me through this diving journey with ease and fun!

Me and my 2 friends have never scuba dived and decided to try it out while on vacation. The experience was very fun and informative. Instructor Rudy was really good at explaining everything we needed to know before going into the water. When we were in water, instructor Guillermo(sorry if not pronounced right) took us underwater and was really friendly. One of us has some problems with clausthrophobia and was a bit afraid, but Guillermo calmed him down and thanks to his calm manner, my friend did not have any bad feelings when underwater. Overall 10/10 experience and definetly will suggest others to go dive with you.

I had a hard time believing you could go from 0 SCUBA experience to swimming at the bottom of the ocean in 2.5 hours, but you sure can. Very knowledgeable and kind instructors helped those who had challenges (which are all very minor.) If you would like to try SCUBA but are nervous, don't hesitate to go with this group.

Max and Ale were wonderful instructors! Ale was able to help me with every issue I was having, and was very attentive and professional. We saw a manta ray, and my husband and father in law saw a sting ray. It was a fun dive just for learning of course, but se saw many fish other wildlife. Definitely would use this dive shop again!

Amazing experience, would highly recommend. I was so so nervous having never dived previously. But I was also in a group with others who had also never dived. The diving instruction was a max 1 instructor to 2 people which made me feel very at ease. They gave a briefing beforehand which helped to put me at ease. I felt supported and safe the entire dive. Didn't see a turtle, but plenty of beautiful fish and even saw a dolphin whilst in the speedboat.

Absolutely phenomenal! Our booking had 6 people, which equalled out to 2 people to an instructor. Each instructor was so accommodating to the different languages, needs and skill sets of each individual, in a friendly and approachable manner. They take photos under the water using their cameras but available to buy then after you’ve viewed them (after you’re back at the meeting point). Overall can’t fault this experience at all. Very professionally run service. On time, there was a prep talk regarding communication with sign language under the water, as well as safety instructions. My sons did very well with the scuba dive instructors, who were quite supportive. Francesco and Ramona were excellent. We appreciated the beautiful photos and videos taken during the dives. Definitely coming back again. Highly recommended 👌

It was our best experience in Tenerife! We booked 5 people for whole family, the instructor were so nice and very patient, my little child 12 was been separated looking after by one instructor, and my instructor is female, forgive me if called name wrong, Amarena, she was fantastic, as I was very scared at beginning, she was holding my both hands, told me to deep breath, and book me down very slowly. And she took lots of lovely pictures for me and my partner, Thank you! And thank for the captain as well, he took my two kids! He was brilliant and he encouraged them to take Scuba diving training courses, 3-4 days courses, he said they can enjoy their night diving in the future! They will definitely think about it! 🙏🙏☺️☺️🇪🇸🇪🇸❤️❤️

We had the best time and all for 70 euro, at our time of booking. Our paired off instructor, Francesco, was simply phenomenal. We did the starter dive, our second ever dive. Being from Ireland we didn't have much experience. My wife is a nervous diver and he made sure to look after her before in the dive prep and throughout the dive, making her at ease. I was more comfortable and experienced in the water so he let me really enjoy it. They take photos throughout the dive and you can get them at the end. They have multiple instructors on the dive and split the group into small parties so everyone is closely looked after. The area they took us to after a short boat road was simply amazing. I spent extra time while they packed the boat, to enjoy a snorkel around and had ample time to enjoy myself, I didn't want It to end because it was that much fun. They ensured you had all the gear you needed to dive with. Took us through all the preparation to dive. At no point did we not feel at ease. I wish we could stay longer and do their dive courses. There was loads of life in the water with crabs and fish galore. We even bumped into our instructor Francesco on a night out and had to pay for his dinner, he was that outstanding. Of course on the sly as we didn't want to disturb him, we wanted to pass on our thanks for such an amazing time. Would do it all again in a heart beat. It was honestly outstanding experience.

The location they chose to dive on had amazing rock features and loads of fish crabs to see. My more experienced husband was allowed to enjoy his dive and really got to experience an amazing time, " he was like a fish". We happened to see him on a night out, and paid for his dinner (on the quiet, sorry Francesco, we didn't want to bother you on your night off), he was that amazing. Thank you a thousand! We'd go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend to all divers! We'll come back to do their full course if we ever find ourselves back in Tenerife.

Went today with my two sons (11 and 14) for our first dive. It was great, the instructors were amazing, really enthusiastic and did everything to make sure we had a great time. Would definitely recommend. Thanks Romana and crew.

What a great experience , if not tried before highly recommend , this company has been long established 1999, my wife had not dived before is not a strong swimmer and was very anxious the trainers normally are one per two so you get special attention but they even went one to one to get her over some of the issues and help her dive fully , she never stopped smiling for the rest of the day she was buzzing , thank you Reuben and Romana , well worth the money thanks again

Good instruction by friendly, professional and attentive guides. With one instructor per 1-2 participants while diving, they took safety and comfort very seriously. There were no turtles at the dive site that day, but we did see a turtle, flying fish and even dolphins from the boat on the way out. The dive site was near a steep cliff shore with good visibility, we saw were various fish and even stingrays during the dive. Great experience, definitely recommended!

Family of 4 including a 10 and 12 year old - amazing first dive. We saw lots of marine wildlife including colourful fish, spider grabs and rays. The team were fantastic, very professional and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic first experience of scuba diving with my 11 year old son. He freaked out initially as was having a problem keeping the snorkel in his mouth and I worried that he wouldn’t try the scuba dive.. Romana came to the rescue, calmed him down and got us both through our first ever dive.. Amazing experience and I felt like we were in really safe hands throughout..
