The Tamaran VIP Van Tour to Anaga is designed for first-timers needing an introduction to the island. Parking is increasingly a problem at the national parks. Being on a tour helped with this issue. Having an experienced local driving the hairpin curves was also reassuring and left us with ample time to enjoy the view. One only gets a few moments at the look-outs to snap a few instagrammable photos, but it was enough. The tour operators did a great job, but as soon as the part of the tour is given over to a third party, the quality goes down. For example: The lunch was included, but, in my opinion, the restaurants seem to offer a lower quality to the all-inclusive tours. I would personally prefer to opt out or buy my own lunch for a reduction in price. Additionally, the wine tasting was laughable. Our guide was wonderful, and explained more about the wines than the bodega. The bodega simply served four wines in shot glasses and left the room with no explanation whatsoever. Tamaran Tours may need to negotiate harder with external providers in order to keep their customers coming back. Overall, we enjoyed out trip, mostly because of the personalized service of our driver.
Another great tour with Tamaran! This time, we went to the north east part of the island. Our guide's name was Frankie, and he was every bit energetic, professional, and fun to be around. The tour lasts for most of the day, and you will see the not-so-tourist part of the island. To me, this is very important, since it provides a sense of balance, history and local culture. We all love Playa Las Americas but the novelty wears off after a while. We ate a great restaurant called Xiomara, complete with a fish, pork, and vegetarian menu. Bottles of wine are part of the meal if you would like a drink, and water is also served. I absolutely loved this tour, which I booked through my TUI Hotel here. I recommend this, since it makes the whole experience that much more easier. They will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. Overall, I give Tamaran 5/5 for fun and customer satisfaction.
Overall, the tour was very informative and entertaining. Tomas is a fun tour guide. Were traveling with two minibuses in two groups of 7-8 people. We saw a lot, had great views, but also spent a lot of time in the car. I would not have needed the drive through Santa Cruz to Teresitas beach, but I would have preferred more time in La Laguna. The stay there of one hour is not enough for this place in my opinion. In the end, the cars drove to the respective hotels and the tour guide did not say goodbye to us before, which seemed a bit out of round. Still a nice tour!
Beautiful tour of the north of Tenerife (La Laguna/Anaga) by minibus with Manuel, our driver/guide, who knew how to make this trip interesting and answered all our questions, questions, all in a good atmosphere. And without forgetting his driving skills on a road full of turns! Outing focused on landscapes, the history of the island, and during which we could also make the covered market of La Laguna. No shopping centers or shops to "just" buy! Only downside on the lunch restaurant that will not leave us a lasting memory 😉. Not bad in itself but everything was bland. In short, outing to discover another face of Tenerife! Thanks again to Manuel for a great day
It was a nice tour and we saw a lot, but we didn't have enough time to see everything. Free time in the city was lost because the guide did not come to give explanations. Better to adjust the price and visit less.
Excellent tour especially by the driver-guide, Urbano, who kept giving us details and explanations and telling us the story of everything we saw. The best guide we've had of all the trips we've taken. As for the places to visit, impressive, especially Anaga Park. Highly recommended.
noise in carriage unintelligible no explanation was given at any stopping point, only hour of meeting before departure was given. Fortunately, the driver said something in Spanish occasionally. order food was wrong 40 people stuck together in 5 vans is neither VIP nor small group. You better drive yourself if the guide doesn't explain anything.
We started at 9 am in front of the Tamaran office in La Paz / Puerto de la Cruz. Two minibuses with Germans, one with Britons, one with French. We drove to the Anaga Mountains and the guides stopped. They showed us the breathtaking panorama and explained the route to us using a map. Our guide Giuseppe, who clearly loves the island deeply, drew our attention to every special feature and spoke over loudspeakers also to the 2nd German minibus, which was controlled by Kai. Wonderful mountain resorts like La Laguna (a much rained student town in the mountains) or the Mercedeswald (fairytale forest / laurel forest) were our destinations. Santa Cruz with its heaped white beaches was also part of the sightseeing route. We learned a lot about the vegetation in northern Tenerife, which was great! 67€ per person is a proud price first. But we were on the road for 6 hours, had a great lunch in an enchanted mountain restaurant with so many courses that we couldn't keep up with the food and a wine tasting along with delicious Spanish cheese. I observed that the tour operator paid for the wine tasting. So if you add everything up, then it was inexpensive! And our German speaking guides were incredibly nice, patient and gracious. Those who do not expect luxury will enjoy this tour.
They almost hit a cyclist on the road and didn't even worry about going at high speeds anymore almost cause an accident with another vehicle they came across head-on.
