Wow, what an amazing experience, great value fo money unlike many excursions we had a full 8hrs exploring the rich history of Teneriffe, mount Tiede national park and volcano. Our driver Miguel was very friendly, helpful and insightful engaging in friendly chat and giving us information about the views as we drove through the winding snake like roads to visit several stops where our tour guide Colin gave us very educational clear information about the landscape and history at several photo stops and tourist destinations along the way.

Fabulous half day trip into the teide national park as a family of four. Picked up from hotel at the time advised then taken down to central meeting point. Our driver Bruno was brilliant - really knowledgable and kept us amused. We were in a jeep just the 4 of us but part of a bigger group. Carlo was our guide at the different stops and was also great. We visited places we wouldn’t have gone to had we just hired a car and got local knowledge which was great. Both kids enjoyed themselves
This was a totally drawn out and dull tour. Too much hanging around, too many people. Waste of time. Don’t bother
Were picked up from our hotel on time in a jeep and taken to the meeting point to join 10 other jeeps, and put into groups according to the guide language. Then drove up into the mountains, stopping at pictoresque villages, great viewing points, a museum, and other points of interest. Our guide Frankie was super fun and interesting, and shared lots of anecdotes, information and jokes. Despite some tough weather (it was snowing up in the Caldera!) we had an awesome time and really enjoyed the trip. Take a warm jacket to have on - despite being 21 degrees down in Los Christianos, it was only 4 degrees up in the mountains!
Very well organised, we were collected from our hotel on time and taken to the meeting point, we were then separated into our nationality groups and were giving instructions by Colin as to what jeep we were in and who was our driver. Colin was our guide for the trip, he was informative and Whitty. Our driver also point out points of interest whilst we were on our safari. The views and landscape were stunning and the food at the cafes we stopped were lovely and very reasonable. Following the tour we were then taken back to our hotel.
Myself and my two children took the half day Jeep tour to Mt Teide. The appeal was half day rather than a full day for a 11 and 9 year old! They were amazed by the trip and found the jeeps so fun! Great day and will definitely recommend!
Brilliant views, once in a life time experience - amazing staff knowledgeable and helpful. A must to do in Tenerife - regret not doing it sooner
A fantastic 5 hours with the fantastic hosts ‘Frank’ and our driver Migel. The whole morning was fan and informative with multiple stops route up the mountain. Whilst there were multiple vehicles the service felt personal. Teidi is a natural spectacular marvel worth exploring and the team will take you to places that you would not find like lava caves. Both our 8 year old son and parents thoroughly enjoyed there experience and would highly recommend
Picked up in the morning which was absolutely fine. Got driven to a carpark to have to wait for other people. Then we were allocated our jeeps to travel in. Unfortunately my wife and I were allocated last and when we got to our Jeep we were the last to board. We had to squeeze into the back of a Nissan Patrol which had two very small seats facing into the middle of the vehicle. Not towards the front. They crammed in 4 adults into the seats. They were so cramped you couldn’t even get your seatbelts on due to the lack of space. My wife’s seatbelt was broken anyway . We then begin to travel up to Teide. You could not see anything at all because you were facing into the middle and had absolutely no room to turn towards the outside to see out the windows All our heads were hitting the roll bar every time we went around a corner or over a bump It was extremely claustrophobic and extremely uncomfortable. You could not even straighten your legs due to the lack of room. To make matters worse our group consisted of French speaking people as was our guide, so we had no idea what we were seeing. We after two stops managed to drive to the plato carpark at Teide to be told we only had 45 minutes to look around. This is nowhere near enough time to have a look around. My suggestion is if you are going to book this trip and when you get allocated your seat, if it’s one where you do not face forwards then refuse to travel. It is the most uncomfortable trip we have ever been on.
Had a lovely half day travelling up to Teide, the sights were amazing, and the guides/drivers were very informative, interesting and good fun! Had plenty of time to explore and take photos. Throughly recommend!
We went for the 1/2 day 4x4 Safari Teide trip, pickup from hotel was swift and we then met at Costa Adeje for a morning meeting - bit of confusion finding the English speaking group but we got there.. We were in a roofless jeep which was fantastic, the first stop was above the small villages on the way up Teide - there was 4 or 5 English Speaking jeeps so we would all stop together and get out, where the very entertaining guide would tell us funny storys and facts about the area. He was great! Next stop was at a cafe, great scenic spot and tried the famous Barraquito drink, highly recommend! 3rd stop was Teide National park, we got plenty of time to visit the sights, cafe & museum.. great views! 4th & 5th stops were on the way back down through the national park and were informative & fun! The views on the open top jeep were incredible, much better experience than being on a bus.. The whole day was fast & action packed, all completed from 8am - 1pm Highly recommend if your visiting Tenerife!
A fantastic private jeep tour Colin our guide and driver was brilliant very knowledgeable he took us to lots of different areas around the national park giving us lots of information and photo opportunities. The tour was well worth the money and having Colin as our guide made our day.Thankyou.
It was a great half day trip, definitely worth doing. Plenty of stop offs on the way, to take in the views, which are amazing & information too. Colin the Scottish guy is great. He knows his stuff.
Hubby and i did a half day tour , we were lucky enough to have Frankie as our guide..what a lovely funny and knowledgeable guy.. hubby and him constantly sooke about their love of landrovers ha ha.. and at end of tour we were lucky enough for him to drop us of for shopping.. thank you Frankie
Fantastic half day with guides that have obviously researched their information but don't believe every fact they tell you , eg film locations and famous movies that were allegedly set at mount tiede.
A couple of years ago we took a bus trip to Teide and we were disappointed because most of the time we picking or dropping off people on the way to and from the volcano. We thought this jeep safari trip would be much better. Unfortunately, our jeep was replaced with a mini-van (the company warns about such cases, but we didn't know till the last moment). We were driving most of the time, the stops at Teide were very short even compared with our previous bus trip and we couldn't enjoy this marvellous place at all. I'd rather rent a car with a driver next time than book a trip with Tamaran again.
We all really enjoyed this tour. The whole family found it very interesting. The tour guide was brillant. Would really recommend this to families considering it.
To start off with it was nice to be picked up from the hotel by the jeeps. Neil, the main guide was very informative and funny and always kept us updated on what was going on. Even though our driver had limited English he was still very polite and funny. A downside to the trip was: would have prefered to have been a little bit more "off road" rather than on main tarmacked roads. Also, another downside is that when we stopped off at the National park in the carter...In the toilets a mouse ran into the cubicle I was using which to me is not great to see/ experience when the establishment serves food. On the whole, the experience was fantastic getting to see Mount Tiede and the views of the island was spectacular.
We chose to see Mount Teide by Jeep trip..one thing in which we have never done before. For once, we thought we'd try it and lets just say that we certainly do not regret it! Its one of the best ways to see the mountains and go see the 'sleeping' volcano mount Teide. With it being an organised trip, you also have a tour guide explaining the history and the information about the mount itself. For us, the half day trip was ideal for us; I'm sure others will prefer a full day but we saw and did plenty in half of a day. Its a cool and fun experience which I would highly recorded- especially if you're looking for an interesting historic trip for the kids.
Fun half day with Dutch top guide Peter ... lots of information and fun facts were shared with our company during the trip! Super 😁 Thanks Peter! For the return to the valley / hotel we had to change jeep because our party had booked a whole day! It was a HELLISH RIDE to the valley ... the (young) driver whose name I don't know drove down like a madman with loud music in the jeep! Excessive speed, overtaking where it is not allowed, making phone calls at the wheel, overtaking over white line, ... Sorry but IRRESPONSIBLE driving!! This with 6 passengers, including 2 young children! We were really scared!! This ride has turned our very positive experience with Guide Peter into a very negative experience!! I was in shock... Such cowboys really need to get out and I hope this happens because this will happen someday!!!
National park breathtaking. It's worth it. Super organized. Imnder chosen language we got a lot of interesting information
Departure was to be at 7:45 a.m. No luck I waited 1 hour. When I called Fram, who was my only contact, I was told that there was a problem with the car. I took 2 different 4*4s to get to the RV deck. Everyone was waiting for me. I could have been notified of the delay. I found myself in the back of the 4*4 without seeing anything. (basically in the trunk). The guide gave all the explanations to the Dutch in the 4*4. When we arrived on site with the free visit, I had to stay and have considerably reduced explanations, which reduced my visit time. Weird. On the way back, it was the guide who spoke French very well who took me directly to the hotel. Why wasn't I picked up in the morning with the Dutch?? Great mystery. Otherwise lunch is free. We finish at 3:00 p.m. The places are very good. Too bad the Teide cable car is not offered.
A very interesting excursion, animated by Stephane's comments, which we enjoyed listening to. Our driver did not speak French, but took great care of us. Thank you to the whole team for this great time!
We had a great day and there is even a Portuguese guide who explained everything to us in a beautiful, exciting and fun way. He would be very happy to welcome other Portuguese guests.
Yesterday I did this excursion tour of the island and visit volcano Teide, perfect organization and detailed explanations in every place visited, our guide Marco was very good. Recommended!!!
The half-day tour through Teide National Park we can only recommend. We met with many other tourists in a parking lot, where we were assigned a German-speaking guide who always explained something to us during the tour at the various stops and was also available for other questions. “Our” guidebook was super funny and it was super fun to listen to it. The jeep was driven by another guide who could not speak German, but always made a lot of effort to speak English with us. The tour itself was well planned, sometimes we stopped briefly to be able to take photos and at other spots we were able to spend 45 minutes exploring the area. Also the ride itself with the jeeps was a lot of fun and you never felt unsafe at any time. If you want to see a lot in a relatively short time and get some information about the visual input, this Jeep Safari is the right place for you:)
We only stayed two days on the island, and we hired this half-day excursion to Teide, and we got it right. We would repeat with Tamaran trips. The guide a 10, very well explained everything and made the excursion great. Thank you so much!!! We will return to Tenerife
Nice drivers and something for everyone. Various stops as well as photos! Our travel companion (for Germans) seemed a bit nervous/excited (you could tell by his voice ^^) tried to give us a lot of information. Tried hard not to complain. But... for group photo totally OK! But those who additionally purchase the DVD... I DISCOURAGE! Because...quality *cough* I could have done that a lot better. Picture quality on the DVD quite miserable. Group photo YES, DVD NO! Otherwise, all in all...an adventurous ride!
As the sun rests on your skin and the wind blows through your hair, is the full enjoyment of a strongly shaped landscape on which time shaped and history can be read. The landscape is very varied: sharp mountain peaks, layered rock (colored from orange to green), open plains and black lava fields. The open jeep takes you past viewpoints where it is sometimes very busy and so the beauty is lost a bit. The drivers are clearly enjoying their jobs. They enthusiastically explain the formation / history of the island. Despite “la calima” prevailing at the time of our visit, the trip was definitely worth it.
We were delighted with this excursion to the Teide. Thank you to Alexandre for his knowledge sharing. Complete, informative and very nice. Super nice with the children, did everything to make our excursion pleasant, with even little tips (Barraquito)... thank you also to Arnaud for the little introduction. Child seats were provided. We recommend this excursion for families wishing to see the volcano, accompanied by small children. Half a day is perfect.
