Definitely 5 would highly recommend doing this you get to see more than just the volcano and the guide explains everything to you and the history behide things
It wasn’t made clear that it wasn’t a walking trip. We spent most of the time waiting for on a bus. 1
Better to book with one of local tour organisers as I ended up not having a ticket for the cablecar to the top, the main point of the trip for me. The tour guide herself was dealing with two languages, Russian (I think) and English. She spent most of her time speaking Russian and very little English. Her accent was very strong and her English quite limited, which didn't make for interesting listening. The tour is the while day, over 8 hours, not 5-7 hours as advertised. The stops are too long. The national park is amazing - well worth visiting.
Great way to spend a sunny Saturday morning. Guides did a nice job. Coach was comfortable. Overall a really good experience.
A lovely trip with fantastic sights. Fernando the tour guide did a great job, was informative and was clear with instructions. A special thank you to Victor the driver who saved an idiotic tourist like me that came without the right warm clothes on. He gave me his coat and it saved the day.
Teide National Park is really an amazing place to visit with a really stunning landscape! This was definitely the highlight of our winter break in Tenerife. We were collected on time and met our tour guide Enrique, who is a very nice guy and then we started the very interesting drive up into the mountains. I picked this tour as it gives the national park the time it definitely deserves rather than so many other tours which just seem to have a short stop at Teide. We made two stops for about 30 minutes each where we had time to walk around the incredible landscape and take some pictures. Then there was the cable car stop... unfortunately we didn't get tickets with this company as we had thought it would be closed because of the snow as there had been closures, but it was open and we weren't able to get tickets at this late stage so if the cable car is a must for you then get your tickets with the company when you book and in fairness they had emailed us before the trip asking if we wanted to get tickets so no fault on their side. It turned out to be a happy accident for us as after dropping off people for the cable car we were taken along with another couple for more exploration of the far side of the park and some amazing views of the snow covered Teide. We ended up preferring doing this although I'm sure the cable car is fun also. We also had time to stop at a nice place where I had a refreshing beer and the pizza was tasty too! Then we collected the other people from the cable car and we had one more stop where we had some time to explore and take some final pictures before we left the park. Enrique is really an expert with all his knowledge about Teide and the flora and fauna of this landscape and knows the history very well...he is also a funny guy too. The bus driver is also very professional and what a crazy drive it is! I was sure his name is Jose and he is also a very friendly man. We got great views of Los Gigantes on the way back to our hotel also which was a big bonus. I think we might have just gotten lucky to see them with location of someone's hotel drop off, but not sure? One final point I would add is that through a bit of research I decided to wear jeans as I thought in January and with recent snow that it would be cold in the mountains, but it was very warm all day and I would have been fine with shorts and a t-shirt, but maybe that's just me. So thanks very much amigos...we had a brilliant day! The Irish couple.
It was beautiful view on the Teide Mountain! It was a long journey when the coach returned, it took us from 8:45-18:06, over 9 hours for the whole journey but it shows 5-7 hours on the activity information.
I hate to grade humans, because I’m not a perfect person, but our tour guide for the Tiede national park tour was above ,and beyond 100 percent-he works well with the driver ,of the tour bus, and is working a perfectly flawless game plan for fun, education and information-both men made us feel like family, and was always there with answers to our questions-not sure how you find such talent, but glad you do-well done, and excellent full day, thank you much! See you again in the near future amigos!
The tour guide and the driver were excellent, I enjoyed the whole experience, The mountain was beautiful.
This tour was not for us for several reasons. Partly our own fault and partly the tour company. Firstly; We were picked up at 09.00 and returned at 16.00. The cable car ticket is advertised as optional which we thought would suit as we didn’t want to do that but instead thought we could use the time to do some walking and explore the area. The tour guide communicated that there was a plan b for those who did not want to utilise the cable car and that we would drive a bit further to an area with more facilities and options for sightseeing. We initially thought this was great however after dropping the cable car participants off, the guide then said he needed to do something for 10 minutes, After 30 minutes of waiting on the bus the guide returned and it transpired that he was selling two of the cable car tickets that we presume belonged to a couple who had failed to show for the morning pick up. This was not acceptable, if you do not turn up you still have to pay for the tour so the company is not out of pocket and the cable car tickets should have been written off. Secondly; The tour involved a lot of sitting on the bus and listening to commentary which was interesting but we felt we would have preferred less driving and more opportunity to get out and walk around. For a 7 hour trip the total time not on the bus was around 90 minutes. On reflection we should of gotten the public bus or hired a car for the day which would of worked out cheaper anyway. On a positive note the guide was apologetic about the wait, was really engaging throughout and happy to answer any questions and provide further information.
I had a lot Viator tours, but this is the worst. I read the reviews and now after the tour I understand what they are talking about. We had Paul as a guide and Alfredo as a driver. Until there was concern from the customers everything was fine. After the concern the guide Paul become very rude. He said to me 'that's your problem'. After vulcano we need to meet at 14:15 at the parking down the vulcano. I personally asked 'down there near white cars?'. He said 'yes'. So go down from the hill. But then appeared that the bus arrived at the top of the hill. The driver and guide saw me but not stop and I was forced to climb at the hill again. When I asked why the bus stopped not where we agreed he started disparagingly laughing, was rude the rest of journey and when I asked again about such attitude he become offencive. This left make for the rest of the day. The guide who's main responsibility is to communicate with people must be adlie and adaptive and when request come from the client such person must remain calm and polite, but not defensive or offensive. Communication skill for guides is essential. Without it guide is unprofessional. Just to add that information that gave this guide were couple of paragraphs that can be printed at one A4 sheet, very narrow superficial information.
Great day out, well organised, super lovely guide and driver, excellent value and amazing landscape. Had a few nice stops enroute to visit a pine forest, cafe, scenic points etc very well paced. If you don’t opt for the cable car included make sure you pre purchase your cable car ticket if you’re wanting to go to the top of the volcano 🌋 and check with the company timings- I didn’t realise it’s really hard to get tickets on the day
The bus came a bit later but then we realized that driver picked up guests from hotels or spots closed to the hotels driving through the small streets, so it was ok. After the tour everybody was dropped off at the same locations. It was a pity that cable car didn’t work that day due to weather conditions but company arranged refunds for cable cars tickets very quickly, so here also no comments. The tour itself is a separate story because seems we’ve got the most funniest guide I’ve ever seen - Enrique (I hope I wrote his name correctly). Together with the driver (Juan Ramon, ex Formula 1 driver, as he was represented) they made perfect diet 😁. People in the bus were laughing the whole tour. Worth to mention that driving skills of Juan were indeed perfect and safe and Enrique told a lot of interesting facts about Tenerife (as I understood he also has very good sommelier skills 😄). We enjoyed the tour and if you want to go to Teide without any extra efforts (drive own car, check the routes, etc.) I would recommend this one.
Fantastic trip. Made several stops on the way through villages and amazing viewing points. Our guide, Laura, was spectacular and knew so much. Learnt so much about the history of the island and other Canary Islands. Recommend to everyone, it’s such a great experience. I’d love to see Teide by night next time.
Enjoyed the trip the guide was just lovely and driver also. Air very thin at top was warned of this en route and found out so much about Tenerife too
Great trip to a really fascinating area and highly recommended. Amazing views from the top of the Volcano but very cold. Tip for doing this trip take some warm clothing even in the height of summer it will be cold due to the high altitude. Overarching a well organise and enjoyable trip
Was lovely trip up to the stop at the national park visitors centre. Got lots of great photos and guide and driver very good. Felt we could have turned round them but proceeded another 20 mins to stop at a cafe for 45 mins then travel back on ourselves. Then told we were stopping at a roadside to get into smaller buses. They didn't arrive for 20 minutes (standing in a lay-by). Finally got on smaller bus who dropped us off 1km from our hotel!!! All told 8 hour trip could have been done in 5-6 hours. Would go for a more personal smaller group tour if you can. It was wonderful to see but logistics and time wasting let them down.
We took a day trip with Canarias.com to Mount Teide National Park with cable car. It was a great trip. Julian our guide was very knowledgeable. The coach takes one route up to Teide Cable Car and another back. We had a 40 minute coffee stop, 2 hours at the cable car and 30 minutes at the stunning Roque de Garcia. You can hike from the cable car top station to the summit but it is an additional cost. The free scenic hike to various view points is worth doing. When we went it was a clear day and we had stunning views. My only reason for not giving 5/5 is the long pick up time. We were nearly 2 hours picking up from Los Gigantes to Los Christians. However the driver does even things out by dropping of first those who were picked up first. Trip tip. The coffee stop is popular and busy. If you are a couple one use the toilet whilst the other queues for coffee as both queues are long.
Booked at hotel through VIP tours. An 8 hour day being driven by a fantastic tour guide. We dove through the area devastated by fires in the summer. Very sad. But the tour took us all the way around Tiede. Showing all the different terrains. From the lush North, through the alien landscape, and the arid south.
Fantastic tour with different spots to see. Even time for a little hike around Mirador de La Rulata. The guide was providing us with lots of information and they stopped at many important locations. The tour is highly recimmended. Be aware that the ticket for the cable car is not included. You can buy it on your own via internet.
Brilliant day out! Views were spectacular. Our tour guide was amazing, brilliant humour and so informative. Could listen to him all day. Got a good few stops for photos and something to eat or drink. Also plenty of stops for toilets. 100% recommend!
Unfortunately they only leave on certain days from the north, so I was refunded! But I appreciate them not just keeping the “free” money. :)
We absolutely loved this. We are big volcano fans, so actually being able to play the floor is lava for real was great fun. The weather was amazing and the views were spectacular. We stopped at a couple of places on the way there for coffee and food. Both of which were great. If we go to Tenerife again we would probably do this again and walk up to the top this time. The sun was very strong at the altitude so definitely make sure you take good sunscreen.
A lovely tour around the mountain. Some great sights and information on the nature. The driver was so good that I relaxed even round the hairiest of hair pin bends. The tour guide was friendly helpful and knew his stuff. Fab tour and great value.
Such an amazing trip. My friend and I were meant to go on the half-day trip but did not realise we booked the wrong day. The company were really kind and helpful by letting us go on the full-day tour and it was great. Really lovely guide (Alicia) and driver (Solomon) who made sure everyone had a good time. It was a quick and easy pick-up from the hotel and we managed to get to the tour spots in better time than other tour coaches, meaning we had great views without a mass of people. Thanks so much again!
Tour guide speaks English, French and Spanish, fluently And is really funny, making whole experience memorable and a good laugh
Greet trip with the guide Juan and his team Sorted out cable car tickets too Brilliant Highly recommend
Too long on bus. 2 hors to pick up others. Cost of cable car was prohibitive there fore I sat in bus instead of cable car.
Guide was informative and worked hard translated in lot’s of languages but considering it was a half day we only got back to resort at 8pm I think to many pick ups for 1 coach but the trip on the whole was good.
We were picked up over 30 minutes later thank scheduled, and we spent the entire day on a “half-day” trip. We were supposed to be picked up at 11:30 and we were not back until around 20:00. No expectation management by the guide. No “sorry for being late”. We just had to accept it. The entire trip was full of waiting, waiting, waiting, the entire day. I would not recommend this to anyone, unless you love waiting, and long bus rides.
My first visit to any volcanic region. The landscapes were superb and the guide's commentary excellent. Cable car trip to the top was breathtaking, as was the 'thinner air' at the summit, and the views. An excellent experience that unfortunately was somewhat spoiled by the time spent on the coach and the inordinate number of pick-ups and drop-offs. 4+ out of 6 hours were on the coach. Nevertheless an experience no to be missed
Great day out! We joined the tour at Ten Bel in Costa del Silencio. "The Fonz" was an excellent tour guide who provided a very interesting and informative commentary in English. We learned so much! The driver, Bernardo, was very friendly, and a safe and steady driver. The coach was air conditioned and comfortable. Although the tour is a half day trip, as it collects and drops off people in different resorts, it may take a bit longer than that, depending where you join and who else has booked the same tour. The tour has regular stop off points for comfort breaks, lunch and photo opportunities. The National Park is full of contrasting environments and stunning vistas. It's beautiful and worth seeing!
As other reviewers have mentioned the pick-up & drop-off area is quite large & is time consuming. So worth bearing in mind if you don’t want to spend ages sat on the bus. The guide was knowledgeable & the coach was a high standard - very clean & comfortable. However, the day of our trip was really terrible weather with torrential rain (unusual for Tenerife) this trip really should not have gone ahead. It was a complete waste of everyone time. There very little that could be seen from the bus, when we arrived the rain & wind were so strong it wasn’t possible to walk around outside. Really the company should have rearranged/cancelled. Very disappointed - so check the forecast before travelling.
Rude guide, doesn't like working with people. The atmosphere here was very bad. Also, the group was too big, so he couldn't manage people. There are much better tours you can book with a smaller group and a nicer guide.
The drive and the area around Teide is beautiful and we had one and a half hour to explore it on foot while most of the group went up to the top by cable car. You can purchase the cable car ticket prior to or on the tour itself. The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. Bring a jacket/sweater, it's windy up there! The only downside is that the pick-up/drop-off area of people from the hotels is quite large so it takes a while to pick up and drop off. The whole trip was around 8 hours which is in part because people came 40min late back to the bus after a stop.
Clarity required on the fact that if you don’t book the cable car in advance on this particular tour you do not get chance to buy a ticket or be provided by the tour guide the opportunity to.
Was a lot more than a half day experience which was great for me . Driver and guide were very helpful
Fantastic nature experience. Guide with great knowledge of the area and history, guide fluent in several languages. A lot of time in the bus due to several pickups at different hotels, even More waiting in bus due to problems with tickets for the top-lift. In general, great natureexperience, good guide but too much time spent in the bus, not really worth the money
I had a medical emergency and had to cancel this trip, the local tour company refused to give me my money back, do not book this experience it is NOT flexible at all
The National Park is a must for surveying breath taking landscapes and exploring unique features of a volcanic and natural vegetation site. The park contains a vast crater from which you can see the summits of the mounts around rise. It also contains an array of rock formations - including one that looks like the shape of a duck and different fauna/desert type flowers/wildlife. There are several trails some with steps and rocks for you to climb up/over to a point for beautiful views. For these you need hiking or trainers with solid grips. There are other trails on the straight too and these go on and on..... We went on a half day but only spent 1 15hrs on the Park. But you really need 3 - 4 hrs solid to appreciate the full features of this Park. When we return to Tenerife this will be a full day trip....
We went on this tour and was left disappointed. We were told to be outside the hotel at 12:05, we were 10 mins early but the bus was 45 mins late. We then picked up some more people and made our way to the cafe half way to Teide, this was purely so people could buy cable car tickets and overpriced food/drinks. We then hopped back on and made our way to Teide. Once we got there, they offloaded the ones who didn’t have a cable car ticket and told us we had 2 hours, yes 2 hours to just explore. Once you’ve seen the views there’s not much else to do, so to be left to our own devices for 2 hours in the hot sun was ridiculous. We then had to wait ages for the bus to come back down from the cable cars and then we went home. The tour states you stop at various places but we stopped at 2. My partner was so stressed from this tour I’ve never seen him drink a cocktail so quickly. I wouldn’t recommend this and to use another tour operator.
Our ticket said to be at the bus stop at 9.59, we got there 30 minutes earlier to be safe. When the girls on the bench next to us asked if we were on the same trip and showed us their ticket I was impressed as theirs said to be there at 10.00. If these guys were allowing 1 minute extra per client it has to be well run. They showed up 40 minutes late. The bus was so full my partner had to sit right at the back while I sat near the front as there were only two seats left. This was not a great start. We stopped for the obligatory coffee shop stop en route but only long enough for everyone to pony up the extra 38 euros per person for the cable car. This is how much it is at the site by the way. Fees paid back on the bus to get to the site as fast as possible. Despite the ad stating “ Arriving in the National Park you will stop at various places of interest” we didn’t stop at all - not once. We offloaded those who didn’t pay for the cable car at the visitor Center and continued to the cable car. Our tour guide vanished and came back with tickets we then had to wait in the blistering sun until we were allowed to join the queue for the cable car. Eventually we made it and got to the top. Whilst admittedly the views are awesome we couldn’t really enjoy them as we had 40 minutes before we had to head back down to be back at the bus on time. A long bus ride back and our tour guide jumped ship a few stops before everyone else had been dropped off. So all in all a seven hour trip for 40 minutes of actual excursion. Do yourself a favour and go visit the Monkey Park instead.
This was a fantastic trip. Everything ran like clockwork, from the pickup at precisely the right time and place, to a really engaging/informative tour guide, fantastic stop-offs and the truly epic landscapes of the Tiede volcano. Be sure to book the cable-car trip to the top of the volcano. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
We booked a half day excursion through Jet2 through the rep that came into the hotel, so I do not know if it was this company or not but it was a local guide and driver who took us. We did look at shops doing excursions and they were all about the same price (E28 per adult) so we booked through our rep. We could of added while on the excursion the cable car but he said they didnt do it as part because often because of winds or other bad weather they could not run and so it made it complicated to refund people, so the option would be to add it while on the excursion. This was what our guide told us and we had decided along with probably over half the bus not to bother with the cable car. The cable car is actually quite expensive. Anyway our guide had been in touch with the cable car people to ask if they were running as we would be on our way to there and he would then find out how many tickets were required and let them know (while we were travelling to our first stop for loo and refreshments and for views). He had been told yes that it was open and running and he could then sell tickets. So he announced this before we got off the bus and said he would be sat at a table for those wanting to buy tickets for the cable car to go and see him. So literally we had a 30 mins stop there and then just as we were about to set off he said that he had had a phone call saying that no the cable car was now not going to be running as it was too windy. So he had to give back the money he had taken from people. So this literally was within 30 mins of him being told it would be running to be told no sorry wind had picked up and so wouldnt. So maybe be aware of this if you havent been told. Anyway we continued on our journey and you get told various things and pointed out so much. We stopped a few time to get out to see things and take photos. We had the longest stop at basically quite some distance away but the base of Mount Teide where those that wanted to go on the cable car would of been taken to go to that. We had a walk with him further out showing us things then we had time to make our way back and go to the cafe and toilets and back on the bus. Very interesting tour and greats sights. Great guide and driver too. As I say dont know if it was this company because we booked with jet2 but it wasnt their guide and driver.
Brilliant. Breath taking scenery. Teide is a must if you're in tenerife. The only thing to note is that if it's too windy the cable car doesn't operate.
The volcano and national park was amazing but the experience with the tour guide was not ! The tour guide at the 1st instance was rude because i forgot my facemask (not required in London) and almost didn’t let me on , only to find she had some spare with her ! 2nd : we didn’t have cash to go on the cable car so I proposed we take it out the cash machine at the end and give ( they would only take cash for the cable Car tickets ). When we came to the end and gave the cash she asked us to get off! This was nearly 8 miles away from our hotel! She asked us to take the bus even though I was not feeling great . Would not go again
The actual trip was good until the coach broke down and then they didn’t know how to deal with it. The communication was poor and we were stuck there for an additional 2 hours with no food or water provided. Replacement coach arrived but air conditioning was broken so traveled back in 30+ degree heat with face masks and no air flow.
Late and a bit disorganised on the day. Otherwise a worthwhile trip. Landscape is stunning and enough time to explore the area.
The tour guide was very good and the tour was good value for money. We paid £22 each but would have had to pay extra for the cable car, however it was shut. The scenery is amazing. The only downside was the pick ups took a long time
