An amazing experience, perfect both for complete beginners and for those who already have some basic surfing skills. After a short theoretical and practical introduction, it’s time to hit the water! You are divided into small groups so that everyone can receive the attention and guidance they need. We were lucky enough to be with Marta, and we absolutely loved her! She was super attentive, friendly, and always made sure everyone was having fun while learning. Passionate, patient, and truly caring! Definitely an experience worth trying. Four hours that are suitable for everyone, full of fun and great vibes!

My boyfriend and I had the best time learning to surf! Jordàn was very patient with me and a fantastic teacher! The whole crew were so friendly and welcoming! It was such a nice vibe! Would definitely recommend to anyone and will be booking another lesson on my next holiday! 🏄

It was awesome! Martha really knows what she is talking about. She explained it all very clearly, she was nice, chill and understanding. She helped us in the first part but we could also try individually to catch the right waves. Really really recommend!

The surf instructors were excellent and very experienced. By following their guidance, we were able to learn quickly and felt confident in the water. Great teaching and supportive — highly recommended.

I had an amazing time with Surf Canaries surf school and would highly recommend it for beginners. The instructors are excellent at clearly explaining techniques and then helping you gradually apply them at your own level once you are in the water. Group sizes are small, which means you get plenty of individual attention and guidance throughout the session. A lot of thought has gone into structuring the classes, including well timed breaks where you can enjoy complimentary fruit, which is a really nice touch. The photos provided at the end are a lovely bonus and a great way to remember the experience. You do need to carry your surfboard to the beach, which is not far and actually adds a bit of extra fitness training. Both Marta and Dani were fantastic, supportive, patient, and encouraging, making the whole experience fun and confidence boosting.

Had an amazing time surfing! The instructors were super friendly, patient, and made the whole experience fun and easy to pick up — even as a beginner. The location was great, the waves were perfectly timed, and the vibe was enjoyable from start to finish. Definitely something I’d do again! Additionally, the photos are taken with a professional camera - the quality of the images are really good. (I have attached one for reference).

A very professional team, starting with flexible scheduling in the back office with Anika. Julien and Jordán, throough their years of personal and practical experience, dedicated themselves to each individual participant with didactic professionalism. They were also able to combine perfectly the different age groups among the participants. For my part, I was able to complete successfully my surf lessons after three days. I can recommend Surf Canaries to everyone and will take a few more surf lessons with Surf Cnaries when I will be back on my next holidays on Gran Canaria. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to try this experience. The staff is very skilled and extremely kind. The whole activity lasted about 4 hours, starting with a theoretical part held in their shop, followed by the practical session on the beach, where the instructors guide you step by step and are always there to help with any questions or doubts. You can clearly see that for them this is not just a job but a real passion, something they put their heart into. A special thanks to Jordan and Candela, the two instructors who worked with our group. Not only are they very knowledgeable and supportive, but it’s also evident that they truly love what they do and put their heart into every lesson. On top of that, they are genuinely wonderful people.

My first class at surfing, instructor provided great induction and explanation and help with surfing on water with a feedback what to improve. Had an amazing time, highly recommend and looking forward to pictures.

Brilliant surf school. Really supportive and give you clear instructions. I was in the first time surf group and the I structor was in the water helping us catch the waves. I had to leave early due to some struggles with my health and they were very helpful. Made sure I was okay and safe enough to walk back on my own. I also accidentally left something in the bag that they provide and was contacted immediately via text message. Very good surf school, would reccomend to anyone!

Through “getyourgide” on Google we found this surf school. My kids 11 and 14 wanted to learn to surf sometime. I was able to book and pay via IDeal. I immediately received a confirmation via email. The contact about the times then went via whatsapp. Because you are dependent on the weather, the times can change. Of course you want to have the best waves! First they got a 20-30 minute theory and the instructors were introduced. They were also given a surf suit and a surfboard that fit my kids' height. Then to the beach. Here they first did a warm-up and a few exercises useful while surfing. In groups of five people and one instructor, they then went into the sea. The guidance there was good and at the end of the lesson the kids could just surf by themselves! Pictures were also taken, which you can download later! All credit to surf school Surf Canaries! The kids even liked it so much that they booked another surf morning in the same vacation and this time they brought their dad! Next time we will definitely go back to this surf school.

Top value for the money, great people and very professional. My first time, and they managed to get me on the board and hit some waves standing up. Epic. Highly recommend!

Great Stuff. Really enjoyed ourselves. Great guys teaching, explaining and helping. Sadly, we could not repeat the lessons the next day because of our departure.

Booked a four hour surfing lesson for me and my friend. Good instructors, good service. We had a lot of fun. Sadly my surf was cut short when I stepped on a Weever fish and had to sit on the beach in a lot of pain. The personnel however checked up on me and helped me get back to the surf school and helped we with treating the sting and made sure I was feeling better. Later in the afternoon they checked in on me via text and offered me a surfboard rental to make up for the missed surf time. When we get back to Maspalomas another year this is the surf school we are coming back to!

Very friendly team who know the best surf spots to learn at, I made tonnes of progress in 2 days, unfortunately I couldn't stay longer as I ran out of time!

My kids, 18 and 10 loved it. Great instructors and friendly staff. They also kept in great communication.

We booked this to “have a go”. Great introduction and very friendly mellow staff. Instruction was good and they take photos constantly to capture your moments. Lovely place to learn. For me it was physical and for my nine year old who is not a confident swimmer it was an experience, and to commend him - be kept on trying despite not liking getting his head wet when coming off ( everyone does). Mellow attitude and no significant changing rooms is the only thing they could improve with some better instructions - might be obvious to most, but come already dressed to surf in your trunks and sanded! E we drove and parked and we’re not ready. Both had a lovely time.

First time surfing for me. I knew it wasn't going to be easy, and it wasn't. The instructors really cheered you on and were helpful in getting you going. Clear instructions upfront before heading to the beach. Whilst in the water, they guide you what to do when. Peddle, peddle, peddle, up! If you manage to ride a wave, they celebrate with some fun yelling. Prepare for alot of crashing and sore muscles afterwards. Worth it though!

Great teachers who showed you how to surf easily. The whole class took place in understandable English. They gave us water and a snack. I would definitely book again.

I did a one day lesson on 9th December and it was absolutely amazing !!! I highly recommend this surf school, the whole team is amazing, I only remember Fran’s name. They were all so welcoming and fun and felt very safe out in the waves. It was my first ever time surfing and I was standing up a few times. The photos are such a lovely touch and great to remember the experience. Definitely hit this place up for a morning of fun 🏄‍♂️

I had never tried surfing before, and joined a one day course with Surf Canaries after seeing them practice on the beach. The course started with some theory, but quite quickly we moved to the sea. The instructors were very friendly and helpful. Surfing was more difficult than I expected, but with the help of the instructors it was possible to experience some minor success. The only regret is not having done this sooner. I will definitely go surfing again!

It was my first time surfing and I really enjoyed it. They also took nice pictures for us that’s why I chose them. But they are also good coaches. I will choose them again when I get back.

A great experience with super guidance from the crew. Everything explained very understandable and always improvement notes on the technique. It’s worth it! However, no master has fallen from the sky and I booked two more days on site (with discount).

My son and I took two days lesson at Surf Canaries on 11+15 th of August. We both had a great time and lots of fun. With the help of Francesca and Carlos I (sometimes) managed to stay on the board. My son really got the hang of it and almost looked like a pro (my opinion). We really enjoyed the waves and the exitement. Sore muscles afterwards was the proof that we had a physical and great experience. If you are looking for a great time do not hesitate to book some lessons at Surf Canaries. Took a couple of lessons last september. I’ve had a great time then. Instructors immediately notice what you are having trouble with and at what level you are. They are very well trained and give you personal feedback. I went back in June and took another lesson, because the first time was a great experience. If you’re learning to surf and you get stuck at some point, book a lesson with Surf Canaries. They will help you a lot. Real eye-opener for me.

A great experience from first contacting Surf Canaries through surfing to relaxing in the beach post surf. Danny and the team were fantastic offering really good instruction, combined with bucket loads of enthusiasm, that ensured the whole group managed to catch waves and stand on the board. Would definitely go back.

We are two oldies and a young man with learning difficulties, autism etc but who is a good swimmer and who loves the water. Surf Canarias could not have been more helpful, and my son kept riding high waves like a jack in the box without even getting his face or feet wet, although he never actually managed to stand (but did not fall in). It was loads of fun!

The beach is huge, actually it is more like a little desert, and lots of space in the water. Sometimes a long walk to where the waves are, which sort of becomes part of the warm-up. It’s a beach break with no reefs, big rocks etc, so it’s a nice and safe place to learn. Very nice people, patient and positive, down to earth. Wetsuits felt delicate for rental suits, and it seemed like they had a good system for desinfection re covid. I like that they recycle waste inside their office/store/center (separate plastic), and that they participate in the reforestation project to make Gran Canaria green again. Due to covid we had to stay outside the store while we waited, which is understandable, and most people chose to changed into their wetsuits on the sidewalk. For us who don’t feel comfortable doing that, there’s a bathroom in the back of the store which can be used. There are no shower/changing stalls or similar facilities (this is more or less part of a larger commercial building), but a hose you can use in the street in between the parked cars. Part of the charm. In a perfect world (maybe after covid?) a cup of coffee in the morning while waiting for everybody to get ready, would be a perfect touch (couldn’t find a single early morning coffee takeaway place in Playa del Ingles..). Would also be really really really cool if they could take a clear stance against marijuana, which is sadly associated with the sport and not cool at all and often rather destructive (found a joint on the window frame, hopefully not theirs), and hopefully more surf institutions would follow their example and promote a healthy lifestyle where weed is NOT part of it.

My son and I took the one-day surf class and had a great time! The instructor did a great job to explain the basics. After warm-up and short practice on land we were hitting the waves, and it did not take long before we could stand on the board :) The class is done in small groups and away from the crowds. The wind picked up quite a bit during the afternoon, but that just added to the experience and we had a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend Surf Canaries!

We originally signed up for a two-day course just to experience surfing. However we loved it so much that we extended our course. Danny is an amazing teacher and really passionate about surfing. I loved that the instructors caught a few waves when we were having a break, it really shows their love for surfing. We had small classes of max 5 people, which is a perfect ratio where everyone could get enough attention from the instructor and personal feedback. The people that were progressing faster got fast tracked and could work on some more advanced stuff. If you are worried about paying and not having proper waves to surf, don't worry. On our last day the surfing conditions were not that great, and they gave everyone the option to reschedule, cancel (with reimbursement) or just go out and see what happens. Surf Canaries really care about their customers and want to give them a great experience. I would highly, highly recommend surfing with them, even if it is just to hear everyone celebrate when you catch a wave!

I booked a one day surfing experience for my partner's birthday and it was definitely a great idea! We both never surfed before, so the knowledge and help of Samir ( our instructor) was extremely important to make this a great experience. Samir is an excellent instructor who can explain with simplicity the basics of surfing even to inexperienced people like us. He clearly loves his job and he transmit this excitement to you. The school also gives you water and a snack and this shows how much they care about their customer. 100% will reccomend!

We booked at the last minute and Danny was very accommodating. The group had some variations of ability but they managed that perfectly as the groups were small so you got plenty of 121 tuition and support. We left having both improved and had a great time. Thanks Danny!

I decided to go for this surf school because their website offers a lot of information about what's going to happen and when, what to bring with you, what to expect. It made a very good first impression and turns out it was a good decision to go with them. I was lucky enough to be in the water with 3 instructors of the team, Danny, Jordan & Samir. These guys are amazing! Very passionate about surfing, good teachers, good vibes, a lot of fun. I had never done any surfing before but they're extremely skilled in teaching so I had my first moments of success very soon. I definitely want to go there again.

I had lessons at Surf Canaries in two ocasions last year. The instructors are doing a great job and they are very supportive!!! After a couple of group lessons I decided to have individual ones. Fine! But I was to trustful about the price, which is almost the triple from what other surf-schools (f.e. Las Palmas) charge for the same thing. Stupid me, to not double check this. And a huge shame for the management!!!

I had 3 days in a row with them, they are super kind and professional. They made me surfing at the first day.. unbelievable because I’ve never surf in my life.
