Small Group Surf Lesson In Playa De Las Américas,tenerife

Great new experience but felt there was a lack of instruction, we all got bashed by each others boards and our own. No advice on how to manage the boards outward to sea and instructor seemed distracted. It was a fun experience though and would do it again.

I got to say I was a bit nervous as it was my first time trying out surfing, specially because I keep hearing how hard it was. I had the best time and I honestly believe it is because of our instructor Victor. He made everything feel and look easy. He was happy to help out and happy to be there! I think this beach is a great spot for first timers like us.

My kids had a surf lesson with Kontraola during May half term. Felix the owner was very welcoming and helpful and Israel could not have been a nicer instructor! They were in a group of 6, which was very manageable for everyone getting help. It was very easy to book the lesson online and well organised, with a confirmation email coming straight away, and afterwards, a link to the photos taken plus a feedback survey. My kids enjoyed it so much, they went back for another lesson a day later, with Israel again, happily - and what an improvement! They’re hooked! Thank you so much to Kontraola. Great excursion, and we had the best instructor, Jose! He gave us great instructions on how to stand on the board and to make sure we were safe in the water. He took time to watch each person and help everyone get up on the waves! I had never surfed before, and was able to stand up on the board a few times! It was the perfect amount of time, and they supplied sufficient gear (wet suit, surf board, and boots) to make sure we were warm and safe. Would highly recommend to everyone who visits!

Great surf lesson from Fillipe. Efficient, multi-lingual, bro even did a headstand on the surfboard. Super friendly staff and shout out to Anais for being so helpful. Plenty of waves and overall a great experience.

I had a great time and feel I learned a lot in the time we were in the water. And the photographer did a great job getting a few snaps of us standing before we ended up in the water! The instructor was very patient and present.

The surf course was awesome! In just 2 hours I learned a lot and had a really good time. The instructor was super chill and explained everything in a simple way so I could catch my first waves. The vibe was relaxed fun and motivating and I would definitely do it again.

Our small group was just us two. The instructor was very kind, gave helpful advise about what to improve and rejoiced with us when we catched a wave. Tipp if you come with the car, plan a lot of time to find a parkingspot.

I had never surfed before. At first, I was a bit hesitant, but thanks to the patience and professionalism of my instructor, Vittoria, I managed to get up on the board and ride the waves ( as you can see in the photos). Vittoria was amazing. You can immediately tell how much she cares about her students and how passionate she is about sharing her love for surfing.

Good location and fantastic instructor Viki! Pushed my 100 ish kilo Very Hard to let me experience first surfing ride! Kind and very professional Nacho answered all our questions and helped with ammunition!

Really friendly staff, the whole activity was really efficiently carried out and well timed. Nigel was a great instructor, took time to get to know us all and was constantly looking out for both our welfare and others on the beach.

Fun to do together. Guide was good and could explain the technique well. I managed to stand on my surfboard 🏄🏻 a couple of times and it was my first time. Very kind people in the shop.

Grande vittoria! Great Saturday morning, together with my daughter of 16yo. Very clear explanation and good tips and tricks to learn the fundamentals of surfing. Would recommend it this to everyone

We had such a great experience with this surf school! All the staff were lovely and so helpful. We were beginners and the waves on our particular day were quite large for us. They did not stop until every single person in the group stood up and they were so supportive! 10/10 experience from start to finish!

Wonderful staff and warm, inspiring, family-like atmosphere. I keep coming back to Kontraola in my trips to Tenerife. Highly professional teaching skills, which makes you feel 100% safe in water, and you most surely learn something too.

Great welcome, doesn't speak French but does everything to satisfy the customer with translation on the phone. He even offers a private lesson with a bilingual instructor that I did for a first time. I recommend this package 70 euros for 2 hours instructor and equipment, it's not bad at all. Afterwards, I took a group lesson, having a few basics and not being bilingual we get by very well with gestures. Little anecdote, I went to Franz Surf school, he must not have liked the French or working so to be avoided and just as well I went next door to Kontraola.

We booked a private one-on-one lesson for our 12 and 14-year-old children since it was their first time getting on a surfboard and we preferred that they have more personalized attention. They liked it a lot and we decided to book a pack of 3 lessons (this time "semi-private", one instructor for 2 people). In total they took classes with different instructors. Everyone was very kind, but we especially highlight the friendliness, patience, kindness, and professionalism of ISRAEL. We are very grateful, because the children were left with a very good impression of this sport. Many thanks to the coordinators as well for making the logistics possible by squaring the instructors' schedules with ours. We will definitely repeat when we return next summer! Since the parking situation on site was difficult, they waited for us with the surf lesson, which was extremely unexpected and accommodating. The lesson itself was super fun and is definitely recommended! We would definitely come back!

It was amazing, it was my first time surfing and it was brutal, to repeat totally. The school's great and the teacher we got, Vicky, the best teacher we could have, a 10.

The surf lesson to get started was super good. The treatment by Francisco during the arrival and then instructor Davide during the class was very nice and Pro. I would repeat the experience without hesitation.

It was a super experience for my granddaughters aged 14 and 16!!! Was on their bucket list. I'm sure they'll still do it.

Great activity, must do . . . my 8 year old son loved it, the property owner is super friendly, just like the staff who are very attentive . . . the instructor we had (Lucas) was really . . . really . . really good (plus he spoke French, which can help to make the move ) . . . I really recommend this school and I would return there on our next stays in Tenerife.:) . . .

El monitor nos dió una clase en la arena de 5 minutos y directos al agua. No era el mejor día pues había mucho oleaje y aún así no recibimos ayuda para entrar al agua y dar los primeros pasos. Las camisetas que te dan para identificar qué estás con la escuela huelen a sudor. Los escarpines estaban rotos en la suela. Le pongo 3 estrellas porque si dejas pasar éstos detalles, es una actividad divertida.

Recommendation to everyone a surf lesson here. Davide was a great instructor, provided us with the basics and guided us throughout the lesson.

We did the activity with a group of teenagers and it was very entertaining and exciting. Our instructor, Davide, helped us at all times until we all managed to stand up on the board.
