Small-group Half-day Canyoning In La Orotava

We booked this trip to go canyoning (Los Arcos trip) - btw, we booked directly on his website with a nice discount too. We understood in advance everything we needed to bring (water, snacks, clothes, etc.) and got to know the meeting point/time. From there, everything went smoothly. It was a super half-day adventure, with a nice hike/walk to begin and end the trip - and in the middle, it was super fun canyoning activities. Safety was emphasized and so was the whole experience. Don't forget to look UP at the beautiful nature!! Jorge was so kind and caring, and the other trip-goers were great too. We were 7 in total. As a bonus the weather was PERFECT. Great vibes all around. Thanks, Jorge, we had the best time!! Highly recommend this company.

This experience was FANTASTIC! I'd like to do canyoneering of every trip from now on. Our guide was amazing, fun, knowledgable, and ensured everyone's safety. The pace of the hike and canyoneering moments was great and customizable to the group's needs. I'd definitely say you need some level of fitness and agility. And you absolutely need good hiking shoes.

First time canyoning and Jorge was the best guide! We’re an active couple in our 50’s traveling with like minded friends. Prior to starting the adventure, Jorge thoroughly discusses safety protocols and has everyone practice. Jorge patiently guides each person into position at each point and ensures you feel safe and secure. Jorge has extensive knowledge about Tenerife, the canyon, and local flora. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this tour again or any tour with Jorge! It was an unforgettable experience!

Beautiful and stunning canyon, Jorge is amazing and very knowledgeable! Can’t recommend enough. A few tips for any potential travellers: Bring hiking boots - We thought that the footwear recommendations were just to stop people showing up in flip flops but you really do need a pair of hiking/climbing shoes. I’m sure Jorge wouldn’t mind telling you if your shoes are ok or not if you send him a picture. Bring a coat - A lightweight one is probably best, something that’ll keep the warm in. Rent a car - We arrived by taxi and the hotel assured us we’d have no trouble finding one to take us back however you’re literally on the side of a mountain. There’s barely any people at all and we would’ve been stuck if not for a kind member of our group giving us a lift into Santa Cruz! Can’t wait to do it again next year!

Very nice and well-spoken guide, tries to give everyone a good experience no matter the level of the climber. Also very attentive to safety, offers pleasant stories and offers to take free pictures so you can show off back home ☺️ and the canyon is definetely worth it, so beautiful!

Amazing activity and tour guide Jorge!! This trip lasted 6-7 hours and we rappelled down 7 or more canyons. We felt completely safe and Jorge was brilliant at explaining all the relevant details e.g. safety tips, rappelling technique, facts about the canyon! He ensured he was aware of everyone’s physical capabilities and made adjustments to make sure everyone could hike and rappel comfortably. We recommend you wear long trousers and long sleeve shirts to avoid the stinging nettles and other things that can scratch you. Jorge was excellent and funny and we would return to canyon with him anytime!

This was a great trip for our family. We are in our 50s with two boy age 16 & 14. We are generally an active outdoor family but we had little experience in canyoning (i had none). The guide Jorge was brilliant, an expert, very knowledgeable and a great motivator, encourager and supporter. And spoke perfect English. We were in a small group of 8. Most of the others had significant experience but Jorge catered for us all enabling those with more experience to use more advanced skills descending. Great experience. Great value for money. Would recommend to others

We had a lot of fun exploring Los Arcos canyon with Jorge. He has been very helpful and a great guide overall. He also was very knowledgeable about the history of the canyon.

The guide, Jorge, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and friendly. He helped give me confidence and his technical skills to ensure we were all safe were very high. Only 15 people can go into the canyon each day, so this is a real privilege. This experience was the highlight of my holiday.

My girlfriend and I went on this tour, even though we weren't beginners, and still had an amazing time! The entire hike is beautiful from start to finish. There is a fair amount of hiking involved. I would suggest adhering to the long pants recommendation, there are lots plenty of spots those will come in handy. Jorge was our guide and he did an amazing job. He is clearly knowledgeable about the area, he speaks great english, and was very easy to get along with.

What an amazing day! Jorge was the perfect guide for this day in the canyon. He’s strong, safe and quite good at guiding you through an adventurous day. This is for beginners to canyoning but it will stretch your understanding of what you think you are capable of. It’s exciting and challenging and beautiful. Would highly recommend this tour if you are in good health. You don’t need to be in great shape, but in good health. What a great day and experience!

Absolutely recommendable trip! Jorge is a professional leader and the spirit with this small group was great. The beautiful, well shaped canyon feels like Petra in Jordan. The variety of Rappels is interesting even for more experienced “cliff hangers” ;-). A must do on Tenerife! Thanks Jorge

Had an amazing time doing canyoneering with Jorge, he was great making it fun for the ones of us more comfortable in the mountains and the ones new to canyoneering. Really a great experience would highly recommend whether u have done it before or are new to it. I will be definitely getting back in touch soon to do this again with my partner. Also the pictures don’t do it justice the views are better!

Jorge was the best guide and instructor! He’s very clearly passionate about canyoning and nature as well. He was patient and thorough in explaining all of the steps we needed to take while rappelling down the canyons. He pointed out interesting bits of information regarding our surroundings. He’s engaging and a fun person to teach you a fairly scary thing. I loved this activity and highly recommend it!!

We had such a good time with Jorge and a part from that I can only say that it was one of the best experiences and activity I did since I am Living on the island. We were impressed about the beauty of the nature, we felt like would be in another world. Jorge explained everything very well, so we felt super secure and had a lot of fun :) we will repeat for sure !!!!

Amazing experience canyoning with a very experienced guide Jorge. Enjoyed it a lot! Suitable for absolute beginners, it is very safe, the equipment is top and the guide gives useful tips on every rappel. Jorge also told us about the nature in the canyon. It was lots of fun! 10 out of 10, would recommend!

My boyfriend and I went canyoning for the first time with Jorge and it was amazing! The whole activity was an adventure, every rapel was different and even the short walks in between were sometimes challenging, but we never felt a bit unsafe. We learned a lot about canyoning itself and about the nature of tenerife. I did not expect that the view in the canyon would be so beautiful. Jorge is a very good photographer with his phone and we have some awesome photos now! I would definitely recommend this activity!

A mix of adventure and exploring and enjoying nature. The guide is very easy-going and pleasant and speaks english well. He is very experienced and we all felt comfortable and safe with him. The route is very doable (from a beginner's perspective) and is not too physically demanding. The canyon is stunning, there are plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures.

The canyoning experience with Jorge was amazing! The nature is gorgeous and extremely unique. The experience has just the right mixture of adventure and learning a new skill. Jorge was super friendly, an extremely thoughtful guide, super safety conscious and very caring. He was able to accommodate a diverse set of skill levels amongst the group. Creating opportunities for a bit more adventure and technical learning for more advanced participants while making sure people that were new to Canyoning and repelling felt safe, comfortable and not in the least bit rushed. I couldn’t recommend him or the experience enough. It was truly phenomenal. Amazing sights and a super cool activity with an awesome guide.

What an amazing experience, absolutely one of the best days we have had! A great way to try out a new and thrilling activity, and to explore a different and unique part of the island. Every step of the way is surrounded by incredible scenery, from the hikes through the beautiful forest of Aguamansa, to the stunning canyon with its fascinating geological features. Jorge is an amazing guide! Incredibly friendly and knowledge about the area, and a really great instructor. Everything about the activity is explained and demonstrated so clearly that you feel completely safe and at ease throughout the day and can focus only on enjoying the experience. We will definitely be trying canyoning again as this has been a fabulous introduction. Each wall you come to in the canyon is a little different so you get to try a variety of techniques, with a couple of surprises along the way. If you’re in Tenerife, we couldn’t recommend this more highly - next time we are back we will absolutely be going again!

Best activity ever! It was our first canyoning experience for me and my son and certainly not the last. We went out of our comfort zone. The site describes the trip but in real it s 100 times better. At every moment of the trip we felt safe . When I describe the experience in three words. Safe, amazing and TOP . Next year we come back and book it again. I would recommend it to everyone.

Spectacular place, prepared and friendly guide. There's a bit of walking before and after the actual canyoning, but it's worth it. Bring suitable shoes!!

Jorge is a great Guide who gives confidence and clear instructions. Our children were 14 and 16 years old and had already climbed. The canyon is very beautiful. The duration and rhythm of the outing were perfect.

It was a perfect day canyoning with Jorge! The trip was fun and very manageable, even for us with no prior knowledge. Jorge was very patient and took good care of everyone. We felt safe the whole way and even got a taste for canyoning/rappelling. In addition, we also learned interesting facts along the way. The mountain formations were also incredibly beautiful and the guide took lots of nice photos along the way which he sent to us. Recommended!
