Fantastic views of the Orotava Valley, Teide, the Izaña Observatory and the sea of clouds.
Teide National Park is the most visited in Europe and ninth in the world. We will be in it for several hours and will see examples (in addition to those mentioned below), explained by the guide, of a multitude of geological and natural phenomena. It has the Teide-Pico Viejo stratovolcano which, at 3,718 m, is the highest peak in Spain. It rises 7,500 m above the ocean floor, is considered to be the third tallest volcanic structure in the world and stands in spectacular surroundings. The visual impact of the place is even greater due to the atmospheric conditions that create constantly changing textures and tones in the landscape and a "sea of clouds" that forms a visually stunning backdrop for the mountain. The global importance of Teide is that it is a vivid sample of the geological processes underlying the evolution of the oceanic islands.
Walk through one of the most special areas of the National Park, with an interesting history and an amazing landscape. There we will discover the geological history of Tenerife, marked by eruptions and the transformative force of nature, as well as magnificent examples of unique local flora of Teide.
One of the most photographed icons of Teide National Park. These impressive rock formations, shaped for millennia by volcanic erosion and wind, emerge in whimsical shapes in the middle of the Ucanca plain. From this enclave you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Teide and the volcanic circus of Las Cañadas, making it the favorite viewpoint in the park. Although we will also be in others more hidden... And why not, we'll have a coffee with the best views of the island.
Created by a colossal landslide, the valley is today an orchard where banana trees and vines are planted and where life bustles. Spectacular views of the mountains, the sea, and the neighboring island of La Palma. Depending on the time available and your interests, we will visit a cafe with impressive views, viewpoints on the road or the beautiful city of La Orotava, with its palaces and beautiful historic center.
UNESCO World Heritage, for being the first Spanish/American colonial city. Its historic center contains the first ideal “city-territory” drawn according to philosophical principles. Its wide streets and open spaces are flanked by beautiful churches and public and private buildings dating from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.

Our driver and guide, Antonio, is a friendly, knowledgeable expert guide for Tenerife. We spent the day with him driving around the island, frequently stoping for pictures and discussing the history, geology, and social aspects of Tenerife. Antonio definitely knows the geology of the four kinds of volcanoes on the island. When you travel with him , you have the opportunity to learn and see almost anything that you request. Since Antonio allows his guests to set the pace and itinerary, you can have an amazing experience with him as you drive around Tenerife.
We had an amazing day with Antonio. He took us to many beautiful stops in Teide national park, shared his detailed knowledge of the geology and gave us a huge amount of information about Tenerife. He went out of his way to show us many magnificent and stunning views, and was very generous with his time. Thank you so much, Antonio!
We had a great tour with Antonio. He is proactive with communication ahead of time, prompt, friendly, kind, and very knowledgeable. We took his suggestion to start the day early and it was well worth it to beat the crowds in the national park. We saw some beautiful landscapes, learned about the cultural and natural history, had lunch at an authentic local spot, and overall just had a really enjoyable day.
My wife and I are genealogy buffs and enjoyed the facts shared by our knowledgeable tour guide and the beautiful sites of the island. It was just us and appreciated the tour guides special attention. Going to mountain top, seeing the lush greenery, the clouds below and the cool temperature, it was no wonder we called the island truly blessed. The personally guided tour made all the difference.
Wow. WOW. WOW!!!! Thank you Antonio for a fantastic day around the island! Pick up was a breeze and all the views you showed us has put this excursion as a top favorite for my wife and me. It was a full day of jaw dropping scenery.
The tour we had with Antonio, our tour guide for the nature and cultural tour of Teide and Tenerife was amazing! We got to see Teide National Park, lava tubes, and incredible scenery! Our guide Antonio was incredible, probably one of the best we have ever had, probably top 2. His knowledge of Tenerife, Teide National Park and the other Canary Islands was phenomenal! I give this tour my absolute highest rating!
Excellent tour guide, very helpful and knowledgeable. We travelled from the UK with a little child and Antonio was so kind he made sure he stayed in the car with our little one if he was tired or sleeping so we could quickly pop out of the car to enjoy the view and he took us to all those special spots for capturing the best views. Would surely recommend him.
Great tour to explore Mt Teide park and mostly the north region of Tenerife island. Great views of the park and its varied geological scenery. Was doable in the day that we had from our cruise ship.
Our cruise switched ports from Lanzarote to Tenerife at the last minute and we were beyond lucky to find Antonio to take us up to El Teide and around the island. From pick up at the port to drop off, everything was perfect. It was misty and cloudy all the way through the forest up to the mountain, and Antonio kept reassuring us that the weather would clear at the top. And he was right - it was stunningly beautiful on the mountain. He stopped any time we wanted for photos, and even emailed me his own pictures after the tour. As we walked around different places in the park, Antonio explained all about the geology in the park along with the flora and fauna. Afterwards, we drove along some beautiful winding roads with wonderful views to Los Silos and Garachico for a lunch stop at a place right on the sea and a walk around the town. One more stop at Icod de los Vinos to see the most popular tree in Tenerife, the Drago Milenario or 1000-year-old dragon tree. All in all, it was a very full day for a very fair price and every minute was wonderful. Thanks Antonio and don't be surprised if we take you up on your offer and return to Tenerife! Susan and Mike
A wonderful day on the Island of Tenerife! Antonio is a great guide for your adventure. His English is amazing and he is intelligent, well educated and happy to match the day to your interests and energy. Antonio is also a a calm and excellent driver and his clean car was very nice. We enjoyed the drive to Teide volcano hearing the geology of the volcano along with history of the area and interesting stories of the people and culture, The wild flowers were gorgeous! Antonio knows the island and the best spots to stop for a coffee break or meal. He enjoys being a guide and loves the Teide Park. We were so pleased with our day and happy we had an excellent private guide to show us his island!
My husband and I were on a cruise that stopped in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and we booked this tour with Antonio. It was definitely the right decision! From the very beginning, the communication was excellent. We got a message from him on Whats App right after we booked the tour so we knew what to expect. The meeting point was very convenient and clear for cruise passengers. The day was perfect! We stopped at several viewpoints along the way up to Mt. Teide that were absolutely stunning! We had plenty of time at Roques de Garcia to marvel at the scene and enjoy a cup of coffee on the terrace. We also made several other stops, including in La Laguna where we were able to see the historic area and stop for lunch which we enjoyed thoroughly. My husband had several requests that Antonio happily complied with. It was truly a tour of nature and culture. The tour was tailored to our requests and we never felt rushed. By the end of the tour, we felt like we had a new friend. We came away with a better understanding and appreciation of the Canary Islands. We definitely want to come back. Thanks, Antonio!
After many holidays in the sunny South of Tenerife I decided it was time to fully experience the island and booked a private day tour with Antonio for me and my mum who is in her 80's. We were not disappointed! Antonio tailored the trip exactly to our love of the natural world and authentic local food. We were given options about routes, view points and places to stop for refreshments, all accessible for my mum. Antonio's love of nature, geology and his home island was palpable and his knowledge was extraordinary. We learnt some much and it brought the countryside alive for us. The landscape was incredibly beautiful and so varied, we travelled through the other worldly volcanic mount Teide national park, cloud forests, breathtaking mountain passes with views across the ocean, lush natural gardens of the north, rugged coastlines with natural swimming pools. We saw blue finches, lizards, cactus beetles, and ate wonderful Canadian flea rolls and pastries at a stunning cliff top cafe. To top it off Antonio took fantastic photos for us so we could fully appreciate the scenery without the need for a phone or camera. I absolutely cannot fault this experience, worth every penny and beautifully put together by Antonio. Great communication from the point of booking and collected / dropped to our hotel door. First class service Do not hesitate to book. Thank you, Antonio for a wonderful, magical day!
Antonio provided a fantastic private tour based upon what we had already seen on the island. We took in a vista point overlooking Masca before heading into Teide National Park. Antonio shared his geology expertise so we could really appreciate all the marvels of the park. We stopped frequently to take pictures and get a close up look at the geology. He also shared some of the history of the island and gave suggestions for us to check out during the rest of our stay. Informative, relaxed and fun. It was a wonderful day!
We booked this tour based on the good reviews and we were not disappointed. The search for tour to Teide National park was not easy - we were from the cruise ship visiting for one day. Many tours are originated from the opposite (South) side of the island where most hotels are located. We were coming from the Santa Cruz port, which is quite a drive from the park. Communication with our guide Antonio was prompt and courteous, we felt safe. The day was packed with scenic drive, beautiful views, good talks and small walks but we never felt rushed. At the end, we had a leisure walk through the town La Laguna - it was an unexpected delight. Antonio found a small cafe where we finally tasted the fried goat cheese. It was a delicious end to the wonderful day. He brought us back to the ship by dinner time and departure. We especially recommend this tour for cruise passengers - book it as soon as you know your itinerary.
Antonio’s tour was the best I have ever had! He clearly loves the mountain, El Teide, and speaks passionately about the geology and cultures that have molded Tenerife into what it is today. We experienced a freak thunderstorm on our ascent that gave us rain, snow and hail and 4 deg Celsius temps, which was a surprise since we started at sea level with a breezy 68 degrees. We took in La Orotava and La Laguna, and had a leisurely snack on the way back to the ship. Antonio is intelligent, well-traveled and just a great person to get to know. We hope to see him next time we come to visit Tenerife! Very highly recommended!
We had an amazing and unforgettable experience! Antonio, our knowledgeable and very friendly guide, an expert in geology, a passionate lover of Tenerife island in general and Teide in particular, revealed so many interesting and hidden secrets about island history, volcanoes formation, unusual rocks, mighty pines, and beautiful, unique views and surroundings..! We had a wonderful, memorable day, despite we met our guide for the first time, it felt as we were visiting an old and a very welcoming friend here in Tenerife)) 100% recommended experience!
Thorough coverage of Teide National Park by a very well educated and very knowledgeable guide. Antonio was very accommodating and really knows his geology. We highly recommend him.
Wow. Antonio is an amazing and knowledgeable guide! This is a minimum of a two person tour but I would say perfect for solo at just roughly 250 US for 6-7 hours and fully customizable and private. Antonio studied geology and tourism so he is able to tell you about Tiede and the lava and rock formations which is very interesting and amazing! If you want a full tour of Tiede with a lot of information Antonio is your guy! Also you can just tell he loves the national park and the mountain as well as Tenerife so it was an amazing time. Also he brings his camera and is willing to take photos of you which is very sweet. You will be in good hands I was very comfortable! Thanks Antonio!
Antonio gave us the perfect tour of Tenerife! He is extremely knowledgeable about the geological history of the island as well as the plant life. His tour was private with just my wife and me. He very competently answered all our questions, and made every effort to tailor our tour to what we wanted to see and do. Antonio took several pictures and sent them to us a couple of days later.
Wonderful tour and Antonio very kind and friendly. Very passionate about Tiede but adapted tour to accommodate wheelchair and weather. The wine stop was also fun.
What an experience. Antonio the tour guide is not only a tourist guide but also a Geologist who also likes to meet people from other countries and share all cultures. This tour about the Teide National park was amazing. Thank you very much Antonio
Great tour! Antonio was very professional knew a lot about the Teide volcano . He knew the best places to stop for coffee and lunch . It was well worth it! We are 4 friends in our 70’s. We all enjoyed it! Thank you Antonio!
Our experience was a 10 star! Antonio is one of the best tour guides we have ever had in our travels around the world. Very knowledgeable, courteous, and informative! He has so much knowledge of the places you will be going. Planned our tour around what we had in mind with ease. We stopped for coffee at the top of the volcano, had lunch in a small town in Tenerife. I would recommend him and this tour to anybody! He’s still sending pictures and recommendations of places for us to see while still here! Thank you Antonio for a wonderful day!
Antonio was in touch as soon as our booking was confirmed. Communication was really easy, and we were picked up from our hotel at a time to suit. Sharing his passion and knowledge about the geology of the mountain made this a truly memorable trip. We were treated to spectaculour views and also got the context and scale of the incredible natural events which created this landscape. Highly recommended. Amelia & Mike, UK
I agree with 7 star service, it really was! He was very friendly and easygoing, very knowledgeable, and very considerate - he adapted the trip to our needs and he was very passionate and loved showing us around. We got to know Tenerife and Spain through his eyes, it was so wonderful. He even had cold water for us or medicine for being carsick, so very thoughtful of him! I recommend his trip to anyone. Thanks for a great day 🤩
What a fantastic tour. I don't know where to start...tour date 12-Dec-23 Antonio picked us up at our hotel in Garachico. The car is pretty new and comfortable, also Antonio is a very nice guy. Therefore the start of the tour was very good. This tour includes a lot of driving but it wasn't boring at all. Antonio explained us a lot of things all the time, history of the island, nature, geology,.... Also he is a very good driver, He knows the roads and we felt safe all the time. I really enjoyed the view while he was driving the serpents. He did many stops so we could take some stunning photos. We have seen all the places in the tour description and we had plenty of time to enjoy each location. We were never in a rush. He even did some extra stops at places not mentioned in the tour description. The tour took even longer than expected, but everything was in a relaxed pace without hurry. At the end of the day we were exhausted, very happy and full of new, amazing impressions and memories. Antonio combines his hobbys with the tour. He was taking photos with a professional camera and shared all the pictures with us (for free!). He is a big fan of the Teide and knows a lot about it. Therefore he could tell us a lot about it. We had an amazing day with Antonio, we have seen many beautiful places and we just had a good time. That was definetely the best private tour I've ever had. Thank you very much!
If you have limited time on Tenerife, or if you're interested in the geography and history of trhe island, this is THE best tour to go on. Our guide Antonio was a great host for the entire day, showing us the best parts of Teide and explaining how the island was formed and got its unique look. He explained the various interesting features around the peak of Teide, giving us loads of background information and historical insights. Then Antonio showed us around La Laguna, a lovely town with a great history, where we had a spectacular local lunch. I cannot recommend this tour enough, it was amazing from start to finish with a wonderful and extremely knowledgable guide.
We had the best experience with our guide! He made a memorable day for us. He had a wealth of knowledge about the island and the mountain. Lots of facts about what we were seeing, why it was the way it was... and some fun/curious factoids. Finishing in the beautiful town of La Laguna was a perfect ending to the trip. And extra points awarded for the great pictures he took of us! We would choose this trip again blindfolded!
My boyfriend and I had a lifetime experience visiting Tenerife and Teide in particular. What a place! Our guide was very knowledgeable and truly enthusiastic. He did a great job and was very hospitable and helpful. He took us to a couple of hidden spots (easily accessible, though) and some pictures really look from out of this world. We cannot recommend this tour with more enthusiasm.
WOW!! 7 star service!! we did so much in such a little amount of time and were taken care of so well. Antonio was such a great guide with an incredible amount of knowledge, and did such a great job and letting us sing everything that we wanted and more!! do not book another tour with somebody else use Antonio! He is definitely worth the money!!❤️
We stayed in Tenerife for a day in November. Antonio picked us up on time at the port and the tour went as described about 7 hours. From Santa Cruz we went straight to Teide National Park, the route up to the volcano was very winding but there were always beautiful landscapes and views. Antonio drove us safely and we learned a lot about Tenerife's culture and geology. We can only recommend the excursion was the best on our Canary Islands cruise. He also took pictures and sent us afterwards. Thank you Antonio 😃
Antonio, our guide for 6 hours, gave us a great day. Extremely friendly, educated and with the special knowledge of geology he was the optimal guide for this tour. Surely he took us to Teide in a well-kept big car along serpentine roads that were daring for us. The landscapes we traversed on the tour were all magnificent - from moonscapes to green valleys to incredible rock formations. Overall an absolutely recommendable tour at a fair price.
We couldn't have found a better guide for this special day than Antonio. He impressed us with his friendly and competent manner and his extensive knowledge of the island's impressive nature and history. We also liked the fact that he spoke to us in Spanish, English and German. As a geologist, he was able to answer specialist questions well and accommodated our requests. We felt very well looked after by him. He is a very safe driver, which was important on the mountain roads. We can fully recommend Antonio as a guide who loves his work.
