Diving at Museo Atlántico was a truly wonderful and memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, the team were incredibly friendly, positive and welcoming. Their professionalism and, in particular, their attention to safety were exceptional. My dive buddy made sure I was safe and happy through out the whole experience. Everything was clearly explained, and I felt completely at ease and in very safe hands throughout. As a visual artist whose practice is deeply rooted in the sea, I found the experience particularly inspiring on both a personal and artistic level. My work explores the beauty, complexity and fragility of our oceans, and the dive offered a rare opportunity to experience these ideas from an entirely different perspective. Descending into the blue and encountering Jason deCaires Taylor’s sculptures on the seabed was quite extraordinary. Seeing the sculptures gradually colonised by marine life, becoming part of the underwater environment, was especially fascinating. It brought home the powerful relationship between human intervention, art and the natural world. What struck me most was the sense of being immersed in an environment that is both incredibly beautiful and profoundly vulnerable. It reinforced my belief in the importance of finding ways to communicate the fragility of our oceans and to encourage a greater awareness of the need to protect them. As an artist, I came away with a wealth of visual impressions, ideas and inspiration that will undoubtedly feed into my own practice. A huge thank you to the entire team for making this such a special experience. Their warmth, enthusiasm and outstanding care made all the difference. I would wholeheartedly recommend Museo Atlántico to anyone visiting Lanzarote, whether for the diving experience itself or the opportunity to encounter this remarkable underwater artwork.

I hope this review helps anyone else who is wondering if this experience is truly ok for first time divers. I had a panic attack in the pool and still managed to go through the entire experience. The team the dive college are truly incredible people! They really love what they do and know how to keep you ultra-safe. The entire team are absolute legends. A special shoutout to Steve who was a true lifesaver when I had a wobble on the ocean floor and he stuck by me throughout! I think I held Steve’s hand more than my fella’s! Damo was also really encouraging and honestly I felt totally safe with these guys even when my brain was sending out red alerts. They knew exactly how to promote calm. Hardest part about the whole experience is breathing, practice doing it through your mouth only! Oh and also don’t keep sticking your thumb up to say you’re ok - it means you want to go up 😂
It was such an amazing experience! I was pretty nervous since it was my first time scuba diving, but all the staff were so kind and helpful. Special thanks to Steve, an instructor with 30 years of experience. His briefing was thorough yet concise, and super professional. Even my friend, who has plenty of diving experience, said she'd never met an instructor like him and that I was so lucky to have him for my first time. After going over the basics and equalization methods, we did a quick practice session in the 2-meter pool and headed straight to the Museo Atlantico. Everything felt totally new to me and I had no idea where I was going, but Steve stayed right by my side the whole time, leading the way and making sure I finished safely. The other instructors were also great, making sure everyone else felt safe and comfortable too. Thanks for giving me such amazing memories in Lanzarote. I’d totally recommend this to anyone looking for a special and safe scuba diving experience!
All the instructors accompanying us on our dive were fabulous. Andrea, Steve, Damian, Lubna thank you for a fantastic experience- the care and attention that you demonstrated towards each of us was commendable. Dive College Lanzarote is indeed one of the best dive centres I have been to, especially for beginners. They have a pool on site where they make you practice and train before the actual dive which was super helpful not only for beginners but also for people like myself whose last dive was a while ago. They also encouraged my partner to not pay in advance (since he had never dived before) but first come and try in their pool for free - extremely considerate and professional. Highly recommend.
An unbelievable experience! Everything was perfect from start to finish. Pick up was on time, we arrived at the location and the team were immediately approachable and professional. They were very knowledgable and reassuring and We had complete confidence that we were in safe hands. They very carefully explained the equipment and the dive itself and took great care to ensure we were confident first in their pool before taking us out to see the museum! Whilst on the dive itself they have constant watch over you, checking things are ok and checking in to ensure you are feeling settled. I came up a first minutes early as my breathing changed a bit ( I was unsettled and couldn’t seem to regulate my breathing again) but the team must have taken no more than 5-10 seconds to spot it and were straight on me, without me even having to get their attention! They calmed me immediately and took me to the surface in a really calm and controlled way. Can’t recommend enough, excellent from start to finish! The museum is a must see and I wouldn’t chose/trust any other company to enjoy the experience with!
My first dive in a long time and the instructors were great. I wouldn't have completed it without them. Thanks.
AmazIng experience for first time diver. Super safe, fun, interactive experience Recommended for those who have it on their bucket list.
Super happy that we chose Dive College Lanzarote for our first try dive to Museo Atlantico on Friday (20th of Feb 2026). Neither myself nor my partner had dived before, but were desperate to experience Museo Atlantico. We saw through the Museum's website that Dive College was recommended for a beginners try dive, and we can see why! Upon arrival we were greeted by Laura, and filled out our forms (which were easy to do, but still thorough). We were then introduced to Steve, who took us through the theory introduction. This was easy to understand and thorough, with regular pauses to check for questions. I was so impressed to then hear Steve do the exact same theory session again but in German! All staff seemed to speak multiple languages, which was very impressive, and meant all customers could have the best most thorough experience. We then got taken to do our skills practice in the pool. My partner had 1:1 with Damian, and I was 2:1 with Steve and another customer. Steve was great with me, and helped me feel confident ahead of the dive itself. The only skill I needed to practice multiple times was the mask clearance, and he was great and patient with me. My partner struggles to control their breathing when they are anxious, so felt they needed to calm their breathing down underwater before they did the skill test, one of which is removing and replacing your regulator. Due to this, Damian got my partner to ascend and told them that if they didn’t want to do the exercises, they could just stay within 5 metres, which panicked my partner a bit, as she did want to do the exercises but knew she needed that time to regulate her breathing first. In the end, after calming down, she got them done, and appreciated that Damian gave her a second shot at them. Our final step before the dive was learning about the art in Museo Atlantico. This was done by Damian too. Given the art is so politically charged, Damian did a great job at remaining as politically neutral as possible, without sacrificing the understanding of the artist's, Jason deCaires Taylor's, intention. By having an understanding of the art, it really enriched the already amazing experience once underwater. Getting to the dinghy that would take us to the Museo Atlantico was not particularly easy, but the instructors all helped us get there from the shore. During the ride, the sea was slightly choppy, meaning I felt slightly sea sick, but nothing that could be helped by any of the team. For the beginners dive itself, all divers have a 1:1 instructor, who monitors and adapts your apparatus accordingly, reminds you to equalise, and checks in with you throughout. Both my partner and I had the same instructors for the dive as in the poo practicel, which was great for when the nerves set in, as it was good to have existing rapport to help us calming our nerves before the initial descent. To get down and up from the museum, you lower yourself on a rope. My partner was with Damian again for the dive. We were aware from previous reviews that some people who could not equalise being left at the surface, however Damien was patient with my partner when this occurred. To help give my partner more time to equalise properly, Damien took her away from the rope line down and made her the last in the group, so she could gradually descend. She was able to descend much better as a consequence of this, and made it down far enough that she could float about three metres from the bottom, before then gradually descending right down to meet the group at the bottom. She really appreciated the effort, patience and support from Damien there, and was really happy she did it. My instructor, Steve, checked in with me before we began to descend, and due to regular reminders to equalise and checks I was okay, I was able to be the first of the beginners to get to full depth. Once underwater, Steve continued to be great with me: he struck the perfect balance of always remaining in close proximity and checking in with me, to allowing me some independence. As Steve had a camera with him, he got some great shots of me alone and of me and my partner together, which we are glad to have to remember the experience. The photo & video package was €20, which I believe is good value given the content we got! Post dive, getting back to shore off of the dinghy was a bit tricky, given the team were short staffed, and so some instructors had to leave the dinghy quicker to get the next set of divers ready. We were only left with two instructors to help us all out, which was a slight struggle, as I did panic slightly when I was left to do this alone, but we did all get there in the end, which is the main thing. Overall, would highly recommend the beginners Museo Atlantico dive and doing it with Dive College. Both my partner and I left the experience saying we would dive again, and looking into where we can see more underwater museums Both of us will encourage friends and family who are in Lanzarote to go with Dive College to see Museo Atlantico.
Diving here was absolutely amazing. The team was incredibly friendly, fun and very communicative. There were some issues from me not making the required payment, but Laura called me back to let me know that a slot had opened up, meaning I was still able to dive. If it weren't for her, I really would've missed out! The instructors explained things very clearly and were great at calming nerves, while still ensuring that we had an enjoyable and fun experience - would certainly recommend!
a very nice experience I would repeat anytime, the instructors explain the procedure very well, they are very well organized
Amazing experience definitely a must do. Divers were very experienced, knowledgable and informative, explaining very relevant information in an understandable way. And very patient - as an apprehensive diver who didn’t think I would dive past 1 meter they calmed me enough to dive the full 12-14 meters for which I cannot thank them enough. The explanation of the sculptures was informative also.
I couldn’t recommend this experience enough!! Both me and my girlfriend completely were completely new to diving with 0 experience but we were keen to give it a go. The whole team was super friendly, knowledgeable and supportive throughout the experience! Started with a shallower dive in the sea, getting used to the equipment and just breathing underwater in general. Can’t thank Damo enough for how attentive he was during this, ensuring the group was safe and felt comfortable every step of the way! An amazing guide to have for a first time diver! Also Damo is an amazing underwater photographer aswell, I have some beautiful photos of me and my partner to keep as memories:) Museo Atlantico was the deeper dive. After some teaching of basic skills in the pool area we headed out for the dive! All instructors were brilliant throughout, the views are breathtaking! Once in a lifetime experience and worth every penny!
I've just enjoyed a totally wonderful day out with these guys. I'm in my 60s, my husband didn't want to join me so I went alone. Everyone is really friendly. I booked the visit to the museum for beginners. I've never dived before so did a couple of try dives in my local pool (just £10 each) just so I could experience how the kit feels, which if you have the chance I recommend. But total beginners will be absolutely fine. The staff go through everything you need to know. They're very safety conscious and all the kit looks very new so I had absolutely no concerns regarding safety. As for the museum itself, wow, what an experience. The speed boat ride across the bay to and from is an added bonus! Well worth the money for an unforgettable day out. 5 stars all the way.
I’ve done this dive three times now and loved every second. The diving instructors are kind, reassuring and will assist with any questions or needs you may have. Highly recommend!
Had an intro to diving course with 2 dives and then decided to do the open water qualification. I have to say it ‘s the most friendly and welcoming place if you are daunted or a beginner. Fantastic people to help from Steve, bob, Jess and my instructor for the week - Hank. Had a blast. For someone who hasn’t taken care of his fitness for a good few years and found some tasks daunting - it has been a life afirming process. Without their care I wouldn’t have found the wonderful world below the waves. thank you and couldn’t recommend them enough.
Fantastic experience, loved every minute, especially my 14yo son. Bart’s team were great, safety is clearly the no1 priority and we felt perfectly safe with our 6m dive, pool session and then a 12m dive to the Museum. We were lucky enough to see an Angel shark & a barracuda at the museum. All the staff here were helpful, knowledgable & never took their eye of us to ensure we were safe at all times. My son started off very nervous but that didn’t last long as the instruction & explanation was superb, & by the end of it he was wanting to go back and complete his full PADI open water course!! Great team, great dives, well done & thankyou all!!!
We had a wonderful experience. Both my daughter and I were extremely nervous, but I can honestly say we were given full confidence and support every step. When we thought we couldn’t do it we were calmed and relaxed so we could make the dive. Everything went smoothly and was an experience I would recommend with this company.

amazing experience. i was very nervous but the team were so helpful and patient and made me feel so safe and secure. such a brilliant bucket list thing to do. thank you!
Fantastic staff and trip! Will be getting certified when I am home! Loved every second of this and am still buzzing 5 hours later! Thank you all for making this experience fantastic.
What an experience. I have never dived before and booked a session for myself and my boyfriend whilst on holiday. In spite of the first attempt not being great for me and struggling to equalise (and as such not being able to see the museum), all of the instructors were incredibly supportive and positive as they could clearly see that I was upset. I was told to come back in a few days to try again. As promised, we have returned a few days later and were put in a smaller group to have less pressure and more time to practice. As I was already nervous about not being able to equalise the first time, I was struggling to do it again. However Martina came to the rescue and helped me overcome this obstacle by being patient and persistent. She gave me very clear instructions and kept on coming up with different ways and techniques to get me to do it. And so I did!! Yes, I might have not been able to see the musuem but I did the intial 6m dive nonetheless and it was breathtaking! I loved every second of it and I only wished the dive never ended. Since coming back to London, I have been looking up Diving Schools to become a certifed diver and hopefully come back and see the museum this time round. Also shout out to Damo, Hank and Mara. Can't recommend it enough!
what an absolutely amazing experience this was! i was very nervous but the instructors were calming me down and making me feel safe! they were really keeping a close eye on all of us and everyone in the group were able to dive with no problems. the instructors were just amazing, because of them this was an enjoyable and memorable experience. the museum has meaningful sculptures. we were able to see lots of beautiful fishes as well. worth of every penny!
Well, what an amazing experience I had. I did the underwater museum tour with these, and it was amazing. More so, being very lucky to have a one on one tour with an absolutely amazing instructor called Martinà, very professional and welcoming. And haven't dived in just over 10 years. With this being only a Try Dive as I do not have my open water. I was put at ease and felt very safe with Martinà. I am certain that the whole team are the same as I saw them welcome new and experienced divers in the same professional manner. I will be doing my open water course with them. But first, I have to convince the wife. But I'm sure that won't be hard as Lanzarote is a beautiful hot place.
Great Experience and great staff! Really appreciate it, they take the time to do all the briefings and felt super safe the all time
It's not the first time I've gone diving, but this experience was one of the best. The staff is very professional and friendly. Steve took great photographs, and the other team members were very supportive and nice. The diving itself is amazing. The museum is mysterious and breathtaking. Even the trip to the museum by boat was very enjoyable. With all the equipment on and other divers on board, you feel like part of a seal team. 😊 It's a challenging experience, so you need to have good food and proper sleep beforehand. Overall, I'm very happy and thankful to the team for such good vibes 👍
Wow! What an experience. Bart and the team where absolutely amazing. We had never scuba dived before and they all put us at ease straight away. We started in the shallow sea and then went out a little deeper. Was wonderful to see all the fish and had constant supervision and guidance from the team. The Museo tour was breathtaking! I would recommend everyone to do it! All in all the best day I’ve ever had it was superb from start to finish.
Fantastic day! Couldn't ask for better instructions. We felt so welcome and very looked after. Highly recommended.
This is the best thing I’ve completed in Lanzarote. Morning training then afternoon we go for diving. Every instructors is friendly and professional. Thanks Maliny for being very patient, friendly and super supportive
I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The day was really well designed and struck the perfect balance for my first dive. I felt very reassured by the staff who provided thorough briefings, but I also had a sense of accomplishment from being able to do a 12-metre dive.
Great experience. It was first time scuba diving and I couldn’t swim however with the supported of the instructor I can do it.
Great company! The instructors were excellent and took their time with everyone on the trip to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves
Absolutely fantastic team, I was very nervous to begin with on the first dive and began to panic. I wasn't sure I'd be able to complete the second dive in the Museo Atlántico. However, all the instructors are extremely patient and supportive and were with me every step of the way. I was then able to complete the Museo Atlántico tour at a deeper depth without a hitch. I will definitely be back! I honestly cannot recommend them enough! Very informative, brilliant teachers & most importantly, they create a very supportive, safe environment to learn & develop.
Absolutely outstanding staff. Very professional. 1 thing I would suggest is someone with a basket so customers can wear sliders or flip-flops to walk to the water. All in all a fantastic day.
On the 7th of August we went for the Museo tour in Lanzarote. For me it was the second time for an ocean dive but the last time was long ago. For my mate it was the first time so we took the beginners course. We were welcomed at 10 and had a training for about 30 minutes at the shore. All the info was given clear and to reassure everyone. After the training we went with 2 ribs to the museo and it was really nice to see everything. During the dive there were 4 instructors for the whole group of 10 people so it was very save to do. We have seen all the statues and even saw an octopus. For us it was a life time experience. In my opinion it is something you have to do during the stay in Lanzarote. Many thanks to the cool and kind instructors. All the best! J. Peschel & J. Kamps
Well organised. Nice instructors and staff. Friendly and relaxed. Felt very welcomed and safe. Our first dive was an excellent experience.
Fantastic diving experience for two completely inexperienced divers. Our instructor Stefan was incredible, a great teacher and guide who put us completely at ease - felt very safe under his guidance. Picked up by bus in costa teguise. Lengthy but necessary introduction, followed by an initial dive to explore the sea bed and reefs, followed by a trip out to dive on the museo atlantico after lunch. Then a couple of hours to relax by the sea before being dropped back by bus. An excellent introduction to diving and great value for money - would definitely recommend doing the full day! Thank you Stefan!
Great for people with no PADI certificate. Amazing experience delivered by professional instructors. I had pleasure cive with Steve Who explain in detail and sense of humor what to expect. Thank you for this unforgettable experience.
We went diving for the first time with my children to visit the Atlantic Museum. The Dive team were fantastic, all of them super friendly and very caring. We really felt very safe for our first time. The museum is beautiful and the sculptures have a very endearing message. Totally recommendable.
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! We have just finished our diving experience and underwater museum and we couldn't wait to leave our review. We both have done some diving before but, let me tell you, never like this. The level of knowledge, care, professionalism and friendliness is second to none. All the girls and guys working at the dive college are very sweet, attentive and very friendly. Very detailed but necessary induction, then some diving in the sea followed by some important exercises in the school pool. And obviously after that, the grand finale... The underwater museum... You can't explain it, you simply need to see it for yourself. It's absolutely beautiful ❤️ For me, this was only my second dive so I had almost no experience. I'm not the most adventurous person so, don't think that you won't be able to do it unless you are an adrenaline seeker. The way they explain it, the personal constant attention by the instructors, all the exercises you do prior to the final dive and the genuine care gives you that extra bit of confidence to do it. We could not recommend it more. Do the whole experience, it's worth it. Thank you guys so much from Natalia and David from Spain and London Xx
The museum was incredible and it was really bought alive before we went by the dive guide Andreas. The experience was very magical, we were lucky to have good conditions.
First time diving which was exciting and a little bit scary! Stefan did an excellent job of explaining what we were going to do as well as some of the theory behind diving. Whilst diving we only needed to think about breathing and enjoying the experience, Stefan took care of everything else! The whole team were great, very professional, patient but also good fun. Cannot recommend highly enough, the museum itself was a surreal experience, definitely worth doing.
This was my first diving experience with my friend whilst on a cycling trip. Dive college staff were excellent. Pick up was on time with 'Yo'. Andrea delivered the morning instruction and accompanied us all for the afternoon dive. He was brilliant in settling the nerves and a great teacher at the same time. Its a great set up and I really wondered if I would manage to conquer the nerves as it was a pretty deep dive in the morning (6M) and the museum is twice the depth. I needn't have worried, I felt safe at all times as no corners are cut and staff to student ratio was 1:2. The trip out to the afternoon dive site is approx 10-12 min on a rigid inflatable which was also enjoyable. I cannot praise the staff enough, Bart, Brodie, Yo, Andrea and the rest who I didn't catch the names. All very patient and they made it all possible as quite a few of us were nervous. We were closely monitored at all times during the dive and I was reassured underwater when it was painful to 'pop' the ears. All round first class and would be my first choice if returning to the area. well done folks. If going, don't forget a towel. I would give 'natura bar' a miss at lunchtime as not overly welcoming for the 'dive school. Best to bring a bite to eat with you.
We came for a dive for beginners (to see Museo Atlantico). We paid in advance (obviously) , but when I dive into the sea and very close to the shore, I panicked, then I realised that diving into the museum at 15 meters is unrealistic for me. I didn’t want to continue the experience. They did not return the money, even part of it and also did not take us back to the hotel where they took us we have to take taxi back. All together I have spend around one hour with them and is cost me 155£ -what a waste of money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Thank you to the team who made our dive possible. Particular thanks to Bart & Yohan who gave us the confidence to do the dive and went out of their way to make it a very special event for us. Jane & Evelyn
The weather the fantastic beaches fantastic places too eat and drink in and the New restaurant that have opened are great especially cafe luna
Very well organised. Strong standard of instruction and ratio to beginners. Our two boys (14 and 18) really loved it and felt safe. The rib boat ride out to the museum was fab! Altogether a great family adventure, highly recommended. Great photos too for a great value price. Thank you!
Great team and experience. I would recommend to anyone who fancies scuba diving in Lanzarote to go here.
We came to the dive college as a couple! The actual museum was beautiful and so was the underwater experience, which i would definitely recommend! One of the team (Marco) was absolutely brilliant, lovely, patient and respectful. He was really kind and helpful to me especially as he could tell that i was anxious and at times struggling he would help in any way he could in a respectful and understanding way. So all credit to Marco he was really great! However, I was the only woman in a group of men (which is usually absolutely fine) which was made very difficult because I feel i was not treated appropriately apart from by marco (mentioned above). The other older male instructors were very impatient and i felt were getting annoyed at me for not picking things up immediately which was putting a lot of pressure on me. They also all kind of stared at me in my bikini and made uncomfortable comments about me and my appearance which did make me feel objectified especially as they were much older men. I think they need to reevaluate how they treat young women and try to understand that they should treat us with respect! I also felt that the other older men were extremely rude and dismissive to Marco who was the only one who actually cared about me or the other customers. I think possibly it came from there jealousy of him or asserting some kind of dominance over him which was pretty horrible to watch to be honest.
Unfortunately, it was an unpleasant experience. 1) They did not inform that they will give a form to fill in where you have to confirm that, e.g. you do not have any heart, lung conditions, which is obvious, but also did not have any ear problems, recurring sinusitis, are not on any prescription medication, do not have any mental issues, like depression, anxiety, etc. If you answer yes, you can not dive. It would be highly appreciated if this information was given before purchasing experience on Viator. 2) They explained some signs that they use while diving and then started using some other signs like for breathing in/out, that we were not aware about, because they just did not explain what these signs mean. 3) Instructors were very impatient. They did not explain how to dive or go up properly to learn diving itself but pushed you around instead. 4) Atlantic museum experience took about 15 minutes including diving down to 12 meters and up. Diving up 3 minutes are required to stop in the middle of the way. So there is not only any time to properly see sculptures but also you are constantly pushed around to go as fast as possible. I do not think that even professional divers go through the museum so quickly. 5) They explain that we would dive slowly, as it is important to equalize ears at every meter, and would always ask if everything is okay, but actually they do not listen when you say that something is wrong, only when you repeat the same 4 times or more, and just keep pushing you down. 6) A half of the group could not dive because of some issues, ear not equalizing, stress, etc. so they were waiting swimming around or in the boat. Some people coming back were not feeling fine, they felt nauseous, or had trouble breathing. There were cases when they felt that they did not have enough air to breath. Interestingly that oxygen tanks were not full, they just filled them in for those 15 minutes. 7) When we wanted to check photos taken during diving, a guy showed them very fast without looking at the screen, so most of them were not even loaded, and we could not see them. I would recommend to think twice before purchasing this experience. This is not for beginners. Or what they mean by saying beginners is they give you equipment and push you around to see museum. Better invest more time in learning proper diving basics, which I expected to learn here, but did not, and then visit Atlantic museum, then you could properly enjoy it.
Glorious day and fantastic organization! Dedicated and caring team. We had fun while feeling safe from start until the end. Thank you!
