You take part in a surf course in the south of Fuerteventura. At the beginning of the course we pick up our surf students from their accommodation in: Morro Jable, Jandia, Esquinzo, Butihondo, Costa Calma, La Pared or La Lajita. Then it's off to the beach. Every day we drive our vans and Landrover Defenders to the beach, which offers the best surfing conditions according to the surfing level of our surfing students. On the beach we explain currents and give important safety information on using the surfing equipment. Then there is a short warm-up session and an introduction round. This is followed by first dry exercises on land on the position on the board and the standing up movement - we call this the "take off". Now let's get into the water. Our surf instructors are in the water with you. They will help you choose the waves, push you into the waves and give tips on how to improve your surfing technique.
Had a great trip surfing at La Pared - Derek was a great teacher and a top bloke. They were also flexible about changing the day which was very much appreciated. I only did one but plenty on the trip were doing longer and all spoke highly of the experience. Would recommend.

I had an incredible first surf lesson, and I can’t recommend it enough! Gaspard was an amazing and kind instructor. He took us through each step of the learning process with clear explanations, ensuring we felt confident before hitting the waves. What really stood out was how he handled the safety rules - thorough but never overwhelming, so there was no space for anxiety. You truly feel that he’s got your back. Surfing for the first time can be nerve-wracking, but Gaspard created such a supportive and encouraging environment that I felt safe and listened to the entire time. He also gave individual feedback to each of us, which helped us improve quickly. A special shoutout to Maria, who organized everything so smoothly! She’s absolutely lovely and goes out of her way to accommodate everyone, making sure the whole experience is as seamless and enjoyable as possible. This was my first time surfing, but definitely not my last! If you’re thinking about trying it, I highly recommend this experience.
My 10yo son had his first surfing lesson with Otro Modo. We were well looked after by Maria, and had our lesson at an absolutely stunning location, with Gaspar, who was super professional and reassuring. We've had a super experience and will be very happy to recommend them to others:)
I booked my 13 year old daughter on the 3 day beginner school. Her whole experience was amazing with Jeroen and Gaspard. The instructing was excellent and super fun. She has loved every minute and even book a private lesson after school completed. Highly recommend. Both instructors excellent with kids.
Gaspard and Maria were wonderful, Gaspard did a great job teaching brand new beginners and getting us on the surfboards despite strong currents and huge waves. The team was friendly and fostered a pleasant environment for tourists, I ended up doing three days instead of just the one I planned, and would certainly join the team again.

As bloody beginners we got in the transfer van and had an incredibly nice afternoon. Exhausting and exciting, but thanks to the instructions and motivating words of surf instructor Andi mastered the challenge together. A great experience and we will definitely come back!
From simple communication via WhatsApp, postponement of appointment (children sick) and hotel pickup, everything went as comfortably as possible. The surf instructors were also excellent. I was in a very small group with equally experienced people on both days of surfing, so the surf instructor could really respond well to everyone. In the morning, the surf spots would be approached and decided on site where the best conditions prevail. At the next one gladly again!

I went to 1. Here in Fuerteventura and wanted to test surfing and then I came across the surf school “OTRO MODO”. The surf instructor I had was very professional and has responded to each student individually (my group, 3 students), next time I come back to Fuerteventura I book a course with OTRO MODO again. I can only recommend the surf school if you are in Fuerteventura and want to try surfing or develop further.
I did a course for beginners for two days. The organization and service are great! The surf instructors made you feel good and introduced you very well! It should be emphasized that in the groups, everyone is addressed individually and given to me by loving assistance on the 2nd of February. day was deliberately helped to small success stories. Thank you for that! I am more than satisfied and have already achieved much more than I expected before. I will definitely come back and pick up at Otro modo where I left off.
We had a lot of fun as beginners and Derek was a great surf instructor, and the beach was gorgeous. We would definitely come back!
Derek is a great surf instructor and it was great learning to surf with him. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Fuerteventura and would definitely go in the water with Otro Modo again.

Great morning to learn to surf for the first time! ✨ Meeting point with the simple school, We had Félix for the lesson, very kind and patient because surfing is a very difficult sport 😅 Great weather despite a lot of wind that day OTRO modo is one of the best schools in Fuerte to learn surfing, we came from the north of the island but we made the trip to Morro Jable beach We recommend 💯% and can't wait to do it again 💗🌈🌞

A wonderful week in which we learned the basics of surfing, met great people and spent nice evenings together in local restaurants. The booking was via email and bank transfer. It's weird and the Instagram and website are completely out of date, but we had a great time! The organization on site was handled via a WhatsApp group, so we were able to quickly make contact with the other participants and arrange to meet up after the courses. Good wetsuits and boards were provided, we started every morning from the office and then drove to a few beaches to catch the optimal waves for us as beginners. We were able to borrow surf skates to improve our feeling on the board. Derik gave us the best tips on how to get the best out of every wave, that was really great! We could also have borrowed boards again in the afternoon to walk to the beach/ride the bike. Everything was super relaxed and easy. Many thanks to the whole team 🫶🏼 the people there are absolutely lovely.
The 5-day surf course with OTRO MODO was fantastic. We were picked up from our accommodation on time every day, the time was communicated to us by 5 p.m. the day before. "Derek" was very motivated, always kept a close eye on us and gave immediate feedback or instructions. We also went to different spots to always have the best conditions. There was always a great atmosphere and we also saw a bit of the island. My highlight was definitely the secluded bay during sunset surfing 🌅🏄♂️
Good communication when booking and therefore a great day with good instructions, safe, relaxed, good vibe and easy to follow in multiple languages, highly recommended!

super great beaches, great weather, friendly staff always there for you, no matter what the request Surf lessons well explained (Emil!), free surfing and always getting tips on what you could improve. I really liked it. Often did something together in the evenings, the staff were always in a good mood and it was great fun being with other people :) Top!
Great surfing lessons in the south of Fuerteventura! I had never been on a board before, but thanks to our amazing instructor I felt comfortable from the start! He took the time to teach us the basics and made sure we felt safe before we hit the waves. The group size was also perfect to get enough help. I'll definitely be back to do the advanced course!
