La Gomera is an island with beautiful scenery! Loved the ferry crossing. Didn’t have enough time in the forest or San Sebastián. Most of the day was on the coach with some stops for the scenery. I wasn’t aware it was a trip with a coach of 50 people with the guide going through everything in 4 languages. After a day on the coach it took us 2 hours to get back to our hotel vs 40 minutes on the pick up. First Viator tour I have been disappointed with. I will ask more questions before I book again.

I was trying to book a jeep tour not a coach. I had no confirmation of what sort of tour it was to be. If I knew it was a coach I would have cancelled
I booked this excursion last minute. The day started off very misty in the La Gomera mountains, so misty that the first photo stop was pretty pointless as you couldn’t see anything. Travelling into Garajonhay National park was very lovely and the bus driver negotiated some tight bends and narrow roads expertly. Lunch was very nice at a restaurant in Las Rosas with a potato soup starter, beef and potato stew main course and creme caramel dessert and the restaurant staff were very attentive asking if anyone wanted seconds. At the beginning of the day we were told that we would have an hour to explore San Sebastián, however by the time we arrived back and were dropped off in San Sebastián, there was only really time for a quick drink in a cafe on the sea front before needing to get ourselves to the ferry terminal. I would have liked to have visited the church advertised in the itinerary, however none of these were pointed out or directions given before we were dropped off and left to our own devices. Arriving back in Tenerife was a bit chaotic with trying to find which bus you needed to be on and this I feel could have been organised better.
Hugely emjoyable, well organised tour of the island. The bus trip covers a lot of interesting sites, and includes a couple of walks through a village and forest. Guide was very knowledgable and fun. The overall cost of the tour is good value as the return ferry alone is about €90 per person.
Great trip with nice guide and amazing food..Beatiful things to see.....I Will do it again for sure.
All of La Gomera in a day Great value Beautiful views Incredible funny and knowledgeable tourguide and formula-one-class pullman chauffeur.
La Gomera is a beautiful island and well worth a day tour over from Tenerife. Ferries go from Los Cristionas port but be aware that you have to have passports checked when boarding and if you suffer with sea sickness, take medication, although crossing is only one hour long, because the ferry is a catamaran style, it can get very choppy! Lots of different tours available on the island, some include the ferry ticket package. But the highlights for us was the tiny capital of San Sebastian and then the stunning north side of the volcanic island that is covered in lush green forest and has some unique rock formations. If you suffer with travel sickness then again, take medication as roads are winding and steep sided. Stunning views back towards Tenerife of Teide Volcano too. It is a long day and a little tiring but you get to see the highlights of the Island and if your a geology nut like me then you'll love all the information on the landscape and volcanic activity provided by your tour guide! We booked tours with our hotel jet 2 rep!
The collection from our hotel was on time and our Introduction to Enrico was in perfect English. He speaks in 4 or 5 languages throughout the journey around La Gomera. Hilarious tales of his life's various twists and turns literally as we are twisting and turning around sharp hairpin bends. All relevant information and tastefully considered for all ages and ears. A special thanks to "F1 Pepe" our bus driver for the days' miles through the twisty and quite frightening heights of La Gomeras' volcanoes and forrest terrain. His safe and efficient driving is the reason for his F1 status. Not his speed. ;) Sadly we could not see the peaks of the Chimney :( Mist/fog/horizontal rain, spoiled the late morning views from above. Lunch was a truly magnificent experience. Clean, precise and beautifuly presented food. I recommend the fish and red wine. After lunch it's a leisurely pace back to San Sebastian for 45mins free time before the last ferry departure at 1730. An eleven and a half hour day (including transfers and ferries) of wonderous sights, cliffs, volcanoes, ravine, gorges, dams, forrests, desert like conditions mixed with local knowledge, whistling languages and good humour. 11 out of 10
La Gomera is nice place, but I don't advice go through any agency. My experience show you ll spend 75% in a bus listening short comments on 2,3 or more languages. Don't forget ID, jacket , walking shoes, some water and snacks.
Really excellent trip the guide was very knowledgeable. Make sure you take a jumper or waterproof as it is effectively a rainforest. Also keep an eye on the weather as it is very cloudy if you want to get great views.
Fantastic trip. Maria was amazing and taught us lots about the Island and its history. It was nice to have some traditional Canarian food (one of us is very fussy but even he loved it) the beef dish is beautiful. The gardens we visited were absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for an incredible trip. Very long but very worth it.
A very good trip to take. Following a 50 mins boat trip the journey by coach around the island was brilliant. Many stops along the way for photo shoots and a pleasant stop for a 3 course lunch. Do take along a warm coat as the stop to view the forests can be quire chilly. On return to the port area do have a walk around this charming little square.
Not a great trip. Lunch was terrible and tour guide had to deal with to many languages, which made the narrative very hard to follow. You need to be prepared to spend a lot of time on the coach.
We went with an outfit called Get Holiday. They will tell you that there is parking at the Los Cristianos ferry terminal, but we didn't see any, so let them pick you up at your hotel or take a cab to the terminal. The trip itself was great. This is realistically the only way to see La Gomera in one day; you won't be able to quickly find everything worth looking at yourself, and the roads are windy and treacherous. And you only need one day, because it's a small island. Very interesting microclimates that change dramatically as you go from the south to the center to the north. Bring a jacket! It is cold and foggy (and often rainy) up in the mountains. Basso is a good guide who speaks excellent English.
The excursion was amazing thanks to our knowledgeable guide, Laura and our trusted bus driver, Pepe. Laura knew the history of the island as well as knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. She had an easy going personality making her approachable for conversation and questions. Pepe steered the bus around the mountainous curves so efficiently that no one left with white knuckles from holding on too tightly. The sites were breathtaking, especially in the National Park. I highly recommend this Atlantico excursion and their guide, Laura.
My husband and myself have been to Adeje several times and always fancied going on a day trip to the small island of La Gomera. I wasn't going to do a review as I thought we had just been unfortunate with the weather and guide but after an awful day out on La Gomera we heard from other couples, after our trip, that they had also not enjoyed the trip. The majority of the day is spent on a coach for which the island is not suitable for, the road around the national park is narrow and does not accommodate a coach and another vehicle coming the opposite way. The lunch was awful with some very questionable entertainment from the owners son, our guide did know what she was talking about but, for some reason, felt she had to give all the information in every language she could speak although there was only 2 or 3 different nationalities on the trip. This is a trip I will not be recommending or rebooking
Great full day saw lots of lovely places lunch was nice everything ran on time. Excellent tour guide very knowledgeable
This trip was excellent. Get picked up close to hotel and taken to the ferry port at Los Cristianos about an hour crossing and then onto another bus for the tour. Made very interesting by our tour guide Enrique De Lorenzo Cabrera, a lovely guy who made the tour much fun. We had a very nice 3 course lunch with wine half way round before continuing the tour. It is a long day, about 11 hours door to door but very much worth it. We booked our tour in Costa Adeje at The Jet Ski Centre & Excursions a nice guy took the booking, however he might try to get you to pay more for a "Faster Ferry Crossing" Don't take it, we did and found out later all the crossings are fast.
Took a trip on the ferry from Tenerife to La Gomera. Great view of both islands and saw a pod of whales on the way back. Wondered round San Sebastián then listened to street music in the square as we had lunch al fresco.
The trip is very well organised but we felt rather rushed, they try to fit everything in so there's little time to relax and enjoy it.
Very good tour of the island. Lots of curvy roads but driver was very experienced. We saw the whole island and it had beautiful views.
The trip from start to finish was fantastic, great, funny tour guide who spoke multiple languages. The driver was funny and professional, especially on the tight roads. The food and whistle experience was exceptional. The trip was a good balance, not rushed but also not too slow. I hate boats but really enjoyed the experience. I would definitely go again!
The trip was something different what we wanted. It was bus round trip with 60 people and no time for a trip in the mountains. It was advartised it will be max 30.
Nice way to see some of the island, very mountainous and scenic, tour guide very knowledgable and friendly, nice way to meet other people too
The ferry ride was fun, and the ferry is the most clean ferry I have ever seen. It was good to see another island and learn about the indigenous peoples. The guide was good & took good care of everyone; she had to speak three languages for the group so we only got snippets. Lunch was not very good except for the bread rolls and mojo. More time in town would be nice.
As with other Tenerife tours, long bus ride to pick up other participants. It was interesting to ride the ferry and to see the island. Being enveloped by the clouds and viewing the rocks within the mist was unique. The guide, Rosa?, was very good. She gave good descriptions and arranged several photo stops.
This was a very well organized trip. The guide was very informative and attentive. The stops on the tour were very well thought out and definitely worth the time and consideration put into them. It was a great day trip from Tenerife and would highly recommend.
Wonderful ferry crossing, saw pilot whales. La Gomera is a very beautiful island and a tour is a great way to see the different terrains in one day. Our guide was informative but a bit lack-lustre hence only 4 stars.
The guide, Paolo was excellent, cheerful, very knowledgeable with great ability to tell us a lot about the island in several languages. The meal was excellent. The day wasn't rushed - just enough time at each stop. Plenty of opportunities to take photos, relax and look around. We chose the trip too because we were collected from very near to our hotel which is a bit out of the way from the main resorts on Tenerife. Great value for money and we would fully recommend! Thank you! ☺️
The scenery The people food was also good and a lot quieter the las americas which was a nice break A good tour but it won't suit the younger generation who it seems just want to drink
Questions prior to the trip were answered promptly. On the actual day everything went smoothly and was very well organised. Alesander our tour guide was brilliant, knowledgeable and personable. Aldo the driver made you feel safe and was also very friendly. Two points to improve on - we would have happily paid a few more Euros to have an authentic dessert with the meal. We wanted to leave a tip but in this cashless era a card reader would have enabled this. Have already recommended to family and we only went today!
Great day trip! Must do excursion. From the moment we booked the trip we were impressed. We had quick thoughtful timely responses from the tour company. The pick up was timely and efficient. The ferry ride was lovely and very comfortable. Once at La Gomera, the tour guide Fernando was incredible and talented, with his vast language skills and his knowledge of the history of La Gomera was excellent. Our tour bus driver on La Gomera was also amazing. The beauty and history of the island is must see and hear.
Having visited Tenerife many times over the years and watched the ferry depart and arrive in Los Cristianos we decided to pay a visit to La Gomera. Our return trip cost Euro 144.00 for two of us and took circa 50 mins each way. The port of San Sebastian in La Gomera is relatively small with several restaurants and small eateries close at hand to compliment the narrow streets into the town. The town itself is relatively quiet with an historic walk that points out several ancient houses and churches etc.
An absolutely fantastic day trip. A must do when in Tenerife. The scenery around La Gomera is amazing, all in one small island. The numerous stop off for photos and to admire the views really helped to make this a memorable trip. The lunch was the Menu del Dia, Vegtable Soup, Chicken and Rice and ice cream. Pity no chips avaiable as an alternative for kids. The demonstration of using Whistling as a language was amazing. We did not get to see Torre del Conde, a medeival fortification. as specified in the Tour description on-line. However a 10 out of 10!
Tour Guide Alex and Driver Gustavo did a fabulous job all day. Alex had a great command of Dutch, French and English that was used throughout the tour. Gustavo's driving skills in the regular sized motor coach were amazing to watch. We had a nice lunch at a local restaurant complete with the "whistling language" demonstration. The Fred Olsen ferry ride to and from the Island was a great bonus. I highly recommend this tour
The Island was beautiful - what a contrast between north and south! Lovely lunch too. Tony our guide was very knowledgeable. Only downside was the journey back to our hotel - we left at 7.30am and didn’t get back until 9pm.
The rain forest and how the landscape is different on the island. And the guide was excellent talked very good english😄
This was an enjoyable trip and provided the opportunity to see everything the island had to offer in a single day. I would recommend making the port your pick up and drop off point as going around the resorts picking people up adds a long time to the trip. The guide was very knowledgeable although English was not his first language and you have to concentrate hard to follow the commentary. The lunch provided was just ok although the whistling exhibition provided by the staff in the restaurant was great. Finally take some warm clothing as it does get cold especially when walking around the forest which is high in the mountains.
Arrangements re transport and ferry went well and guide was pleasant Didn’t learn very much about La Gomera but the stops allowed terrific views and short walks in this beautiful place. Lunch was very nice and whistling exhibition was wonderful. All I all a fine day out although maybe a visit to a craft workshop or hill village would be interesting
We enjoyed the Viajes Tiede one-day tour: a good and easy intro to the island covering the National Park and north coast with a little free time in San Sebastián. Good value at 90€ pp including a Canarian lunch with wine. Sure you are herded a bit but that’s inevitable. A nice interlude in a lazy holiday week in Tenerife
The tour doesn’t offer opportunity for fun !!! It is for very old people who want to be driven around all day. Our tour guide talked in 4 languages and with her strange sensual accent , it felt like she talked non stop all day long. We came home exhausted with a throbbing headache!!! I would not recommend this trip to anyone unless you are very very old.
Driver brilliant. Pick ups very good and well organised. Too many languages on one trip. Enjoyed the trip xx
Dramatic scenery explained by an excellent knowlegable guide (Julien) and a fantasic driver (Marcus)
La Gomera is a must see and this trip was very nice but there is some room for improvement. There was a lot of confusion at the pick up point as to who goes with which bus. The guide was very kind and knowledgeable but talked a bit too fast Spanish and somewhat difficult to understand in English because of the accent.
Hi Had a lovely trip to La Gomera today with Alex’s. Unfortunately it was ruined as the bus decided to leave without us at Los Cristrianos port. Due to my wife being unable to walk long distances due to COPD I had to go and get us a taxi to come to the port to pick us up costing us extra money. I have booked 3 trips with Tripadvisor in the last 3 weeks and had no issues until today. Thanks Tommy
Great information and an amazingly beautiful island. We learnt so much . Thoroughly recommend this trip.
Beautiful scenery, sadly was let down by lack of communication from tour guide who had no badge nor gave her name, when guide did speak English, still not able to understand her, she actualy stressed everyone out and didn't make sense. I wasn't sure I was on the correct tour at first! Much of trip was collecting from hotels and the ferry crossings, which is understandable to a certain degree, using a double deck bus wasn't ideal for those whose mobility wasn't the best. Could see some people struggling. Our coach driver was excellent with the roads of La Gomera. There was no clear itinerary communicated, 3 scenery photo stops and other stops it was the usual queue for toilets and try get a snack and have no time to look at much else. Lunch was tasty, Soup, Beef or Fish and a Pudding and Red wine along with some interesting local entertainment. Advise taking snacks with you for before lunch, there is food on the boat once queues go down. The free time before ferry back was very short, quick drink then make our own way, back on the coach in Tenerife when dropping off passangers our guide got off coach and left us to spot the correct hotel to get off! Been on many tours in Tenerife, this one was the most costly and disappointing due to the tour guide sadly.
Excellent job! Pick up on time, guide was nice, she checked my passport and gave written information for catching the ferry! Ferry guide and La Gomera guide was excellent! On time and very nice! Ferry ride was completely comfortable! Bus trip in La Gomera was fun! Lunch was fine. Overall it was excellent. Vicki was great contact person! She always gave quick responses! Thank you 🙏 Vicki.
Garajonay National Park. We had such a great time, our guides were very knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend this tour.
Meeting different people from different countries and talking over lunch Loved seeing the beautiful island
