Laura and Pacheco were amazing. I celebrated my birthday for this tour and so glad I did it. I had such a good time. The Canarian whistle for my birthday at the restaurant was the highlight. And the restaurant staff were amazing.

Great trip. Packed day. Interesting places, and excellent lunch stop. It would have helped to have the guide explain which door of the ferry foot passengers exit from and that it is after the car passengers as it is very confusing in a foreign language and a few simple instructions would have eased the stress, Remember, it is routine to the guide but new to all the tourists. Thank you for a wonderful day!
This was a very interesting and wonderful tour. The guide Fernando was very knowledgeable about the area and made sure we saw everything we could see. The forest was the highlight of the tour. It is a must see. You will definitely enjoy the scenery of all the sights in this tour. The lunch was good and the whistle language entertainment at lunch was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Beautiful island, worth the trip. The guide and driver were very knowledgeable, and the trip was well organized. We truly enjoyed our excursion. I would have love to have more time at the Garajonay Park for a short hike, but we were given only 30 minutes total. The food portions are small.
long day and lots of time on the bus but a beautiful island and national forest to visit. good to experience but could have done with more stops and smaller bus with smaller group Vip depends what you want you get on first and you have your own part of the ferry and something to eat in with it on the ferry so depends what your after for if it’s worth doing vip or not
Apart from being given the wrong pickup point in all communications from booking until the day before and being sent my pickup point by text on the morning of the trip. It was great. The guide and the driver was really goid. We had plenty of stops for photos and the 3 course lunch was lovely.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trip; La Gomera is beautiful (you do need to love nature and… heights), but the same goes for our guide Ildefonso (a true Canarian, born and bred here, who speaks perfect English): probably the best guide I’ve ever had on a sightseeing tour!! 🖤 A genuinely lovely and kind man, with a wealth of interesting knowledge and a (truly brilliant) sense of humour, but you can also constantly sense his sincere love for this region and for his job; his background is unknown but he looks truly cut out for this job; it was a delight from the very first moment to the very last. He also has a sort of ‘fatherly’ concern for the group of tourists in his care. In a word, I think he’s a ‘natural’. I have done several excursions in this region but never had a guide like Ildefonso (I hope I spell his name correctly and I would have loved to tip him when we said goodbye, but unfortunately he quickly left the bus earlier than I did when we were back in Tenerife). Not to mention: the bus driver who drove us all day long along those dangerously high cliffs – huge respect for this bloke! Lunch was included and was typical local lunch: not bad! and the restaurant was pretty nice too (I've seen much worse!!) In short; I enjoyed this tour and I am not easily satisfied! 🫣🤭
This is *not* a tour—it’s a string of ads for Fred Olsen, with quick photo stops and constant pushes to buy food, drinks, and souvenirs. Even the “National Park” is just a brief walk to another snack bar. FYI: Puerto de la Cruz pickup was at 6:40am, off the ferry at 11—over half the 12-hour day is spent waiting or in transit. For an authentic experience, stay on Tenerife and visit Anaga. This was the most disappointing Viator I have ever taken. Save your money.
For past 20 years we have been saying let’s visit La Gomera, it is time to go home and we say “next time”. So this year we decided to finally bite the bullet and travel to see what we believed would be a special island. Pick up, bus transfer and ferry went smoothly. We arrived in La Gomera and were ushered into the waiting b bus. From La Gomera we spent an hour climbing up a hill with twists and turns, stopping once for photos and then we arrive at a restaurant. A typical Spanish meal was served which took about an hour and we listen to a man whistle. Personally I would have preferred to see the island as the meal wasn’t great. We were given 40mins to walk around the restaurant area going round in circles and seeing nothing but overgrowth and trees. Onto the bus and to an UNESCO site On a road wide enough for one small car let alone a bus. At a hairpin bend our bus met a bus coming the other way and I’ve no idea how both busses passed with a shear drop on one side. It wasn’t an enjoyable ride. Into the UNESCO site and we climbed steps to a viewing gallery and saw some mountains. We then climbed back down and had a coffee. Back on the bus, one further stop for pictures and to San Sebastián which is a ghost town. We decided to leave the town and sit at the sea front. Glad I ticked off La Gomera but what a let down!
Very much time in the bus but that was acceptable and driver was fantastic PePe . Guide was god also. But the lunch was disappointing the service was a disaster but food was ok. Arriving back in Tenerife the bus info was terrible.
The tour involved far too much time sitting on the coach driving up and down steep, winding roads. Most of the stops along the way were at viewing points that pretty much covered the same geological features. The exception was the Garajonay National Park, where we just had enough time to do a short loop walk through the rain forest before heading off to lunch. The lunch was reasonably good, compared to others I have had on other tours. After lunch one of the waitresses demonstrated the local whistling language, which was the highlight of the tour for me.
A long day but smooth from start to finish with an excellent guide: Gediminas and a superb lunch. And how the driver managed the roads is beyond me but he did and we felt very safe. La Gomera itself is absolutely stunning and has to be seen to be believed. Just go!
We were originally supposed to be picked up at 8am but when we confirmed details in resort we were told it would be 7.15am. We therefore missed breakfast at the hotel The trip itself was very good but we had a lot of pickups before getting to the ferry. The lunch was three courses with an option of wine and was an excellent standard and very enjoyable. The guide was very knowledgable and informative answering all questions asked. The drop offs at the end were arranged much more efficiently and we were back at our in time for dinner.
We were picked up by coach at 8am & our guide Francisco introduced himself & explained what would happen throughout the day, we boarded the ferry at Los Cristianos & on arrival boarded the coach for the trip around the island at San Sabastian. Our coach driver was Gustavo & he has got some brilliant driving skills, some of the roads on the island are tricky to say the least & he negotiated them easily with good humour. Francisco was a great quide speaking in Spanish, English & German fluently & gave ye lots of details about the island's history & people, the stop for a walk & refreshments in the forest was lovely as was the lunch & demonstration of the whistling language on the island. An absolutely fantastic day & well worth the money. Two tips if you're thinking of going take a jacket or hoodie & wear closed in shoes eg trainers as it can be cold at altitude & muddy in the forest
This was a great introduction to La Gomera and the different parts of it. It left us wanting more time there to explore more fully than can be done in a day trip.
Trip is very slow. The guide was really nice but had to speak 3 languages which was really hard to focus on because he constantly swapped languages. I think we also didn't visit a lot, just drive around in the bus. I think it's only for older people. Also the pickup and dropoff was painfully slow.
Our trip went fine once we were assigned our official driver. We were given a van instead of a jeep (it's advertised as a jeep safari), but we were relieved because upon pickup at our meeting point at 6 a.m. we were initially put in a jeep (but in the back, like a piece of luggage in a trunk). I am 61-years old and luckily very fit. But the ride was made nauseating by the driver who, for all intents and purposes, drove as if he were in a race car. We were slammed back and forth for about an hour through hairpin turns. Amusing for the young driver, not amusing for passengers on flip-down seats squeezed in the back of the jeep. The same thing happened on the transfer back from the port to Puerto de la Cruz. This made the trip a misery. But, once we were assigned our official guide, everything went smoothly. He was wonderful and fulfilled his duties perfectly. He was chatty and informative. The only other disappointment was the included lunch. Tamaran works with a restaurant to provide the meal. It was not up to expectations and I would prefer to have the meal reduced from the price and allow the passengers to either bring a meal or purchase a la carte. It seems the restaurants take advantage of the situation and offer poor quality to diners on the tour busses and VIP tours. The transfer via boat to the island went smoothly. We were happy to visit La Gomera, but consider it a one time visit and would not go back.
To start with, La Gomera is a beautiful place with stunning scenery, and the ferry ride made a visit to the Canaries especially memorable. I have to say though that I found the guide rather distant. I never learned her name. And at the end of the trip, for some unknown reason, we were dropped about a mile away from the ferry terminal and we had to walk. Now a few years ago this wouldn't have been a problem. But now I have collapsed discs in my back and lymphoma in right foot and leg. I chose this trip because no walking was mentioned. The rest of the group had gone out of sight in a minute and I was left to navigate the journey by myself in blazing heat and with ever-increasing pain. I have a good sense of direction but I was in agony when I got to the ferry. I'd heard the guide mention five o'clock so I couldn't take time to rest. (As it turned out the ferry was later than that.) So the bus was staying on the island overnight. I don't understand why we couldn't have been dropped by the terminal, or closer to it. I don't understand why the guide didn't ask if anybody had mobility problems. And when I did stagger into the ferry terminal, the guide swanned past me without a glance; she hadn't even noticed I was missing. When I was sent a pickup point at the start of the day, I was sent to a place some considerable distance from my hotel, so I'd already had a long walk and bus ride at the start of the day. And, ridiculously, we drove right past my hotel on the way to pick up the ferry! So I will say this for the guide, when we were queueing for the bus after getting back from Tenerife, I did beg to be dropped closer to home and she made sure that happened. It's a shame my memories of La Gomera will always be tainted a bit by the agony in my back and foot, because it is certainly a wonderful place to visit. Just let them know if you have problems like mine.
A full day tour when the whole of the island was visited. The ferry crossing was enjoyable and very comfortable with an on-board bar. The scenery was spectacular. The guide was diligent and very informative. Helpings at lunch were a little sparse but the food was tasty. The visit to the Aloe Vera farm was rather boring for me, but I believe others enjoyed it.
This is a great day out! What a shame to visit Tenerife and not go to see beautiful La Gomera. We booked through our Jet2 rep, and were collected at our hotel in a new coach, with a first-class driver and an excellent guide, who very nicely covered everything in Spanish, French, and English; his knowledge was outstanding. The crossings were easy, the sightseeing amazing, the opportunities to get off, walk, take photographs, enjoy the views, all very good. Lunch was not exactly fine dining, but the venue was spectacular; food really wasn’t the reason for the tour, and we got the chance to meet other travellers. Then an hour wandering the fascinating capital before the return crossing. Seriously, take this trip folks, it’s excellent. It is weather-dependent, to get the best viewing, and I know we got lucky. 🍀
Lovely excursion to a beautiful island for my 50th birthday. We met at the harbour as we weren't on the pick up route, parked on a road nearby for free. At the harbour we met the guide Francisco who explained the plan and where to meet once off the ferry, and took our dinner order. Ferry was great, lots of food and drinks choice and very reasonable prices. We stood outside for a bit and saw a Pilot Whale, Dolphins, and a Turtle. Once there we got on the coach and were treated to a fantastic island tour, stopping at many areas of outstanding beauty to take photos, Fransisco was always on hand to take full family photos. We went on a woodland walk in the ancient Laurel forest and then set off to the restaurant for lunch. The restaurant and its views were breathtaking. As it was an included dinner my expectations were relatively low. But the food was great. I had the fish with canarian potatoes, and then ate my kids' beef. Water and wine was included. The service was slick, and there was some time to enjoy the views, and get a coffee in the bar. Then some more winding roads and photo stop offs, before arriving in San Sebastian where we had around an hour to explore. I'm not usually one for shared transport, but this coach tour was truly excellent and gave me a dream birthday I'll never forget. And as for La Gomera, I'm hopeful of going there for a holiday as there's just so much to explore and it's got a very traditional vibe.
Absolute waste of a day, the scariest bus ride ever around the mountains, then to the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to, don’t expect a decent meal because you will be even more disappointed. I feel like I’ve wasted a day of my holiday. My advice is spend your money on something else
Great trip, with fantastic views. Fantastic guide, Laura. Meal was average, but a nice break. Possibly you could be doing with a longer break on san Sebastian. Worth it for the scenery.
The day was excellent! We were picked up on time, the ferry journey was great. The tour of the island gave a lot of information and the views are spectacular. We stopped off for lunch which we expected a small meal it was quite substantial a nice surprise! The ferry back and drop off were great. Most of all the tour guide, Fernando, was excellent!!
Superb value for money compared to other tour operators..please keep it that way. The day runs like clockwork from picking up to dropping off. I wont spoil it with La Gomera details but engaging educational unexpected and spectacular all fit. Superb 3 course lunch included...what are you waiting for 🥰
everything was top notch. the guide spoke several languages fluently, told us everything in an interesting and detailed manner. the travel program turned out to be very rich and varied!
It took 2 hours from being pick up to get to ferry which is a 15min car journey. Our booking was lossed and nearly wasn't allowed on coach.we eventually made it to la gomera which is just mountains with not a lot of history and to be honest was the worse excursion we have ever done the lunch was unbelievable we had 2 coach loads of people piled into what looked like a dungeon then we had prison food and all In 35 mins .I could go on but enough said but really do not waste your money stay on tenerife by the pool
An amazing day out. Very well organised and professional guide. Well worth the visit and the cost. We booked with Smile Excursions and they went over and above expectations when the time was changed at the last minute because of the Santa Cruise Festival. They made sure we met the group at the port on time.
One of our favorite days of the trip! The view points on the island are breathtaking and no other way to see them than with a tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and able to communicate in all of the languages on board. They took us to a local spot for lunch where we had delicious fish and other local dishes, followed by hearing the Gomerian whistle. Such an amazing day!
The trip was okay. The sea crossing was very rough and a lot of people were ill. The weather was rainy and cold in the forest and we were in the clouds and had no view so didn’t even bother to stop the bus at the viewing points. Lunch was edible but not particularly tasty or enjoyable. The tour guide was good and the bus driver was excellent.
All the stops had amazing view, and our guide Fernando did an excellent job, he had a lot of knowledge about the history of La gomera
Overall its lovely experience, i like hearing storys and history from local guides. Lunch was a bonus, wasn’t expecting 3 course meal. It was actually delicious with whistles language show. Island itself is gorgeous, my advice tho if you have car rental better do it this way because you can explore more
Good way to see the island of Gomera - scenery and landscapes wonderful! Our tour guide Laura was amazing and very attentive to our needs. The coach driver Francesco was fabulous manoeuvring around the tight bends and roads - very proficient and obviously experienced!! Felt like we were in safe hands!! Lunch was okay but nothing special - filled a gap. Local commutation aka whistling was demonstrated which was very impressive. Full day tour with ferry trip included so not bad value. Couple of criticisms - coach was a little late picking us up which caused us a bit of anxiety and the last stop of the trip at San Sebastian was too long as not much to see or do, perhaps at this time of year?? Big thank you to Laura for making our day so positive and entertaining 😊
As a family of 5 it was impossible to get seating on the bus together. The other passengers did not accommodate and neither did the guide. NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY EXCURSION The views of La gomera was amazing The lunch was substandard. Be prepared for rough seas on the way to La Gomera. Total length of the day is 11 hours, mostly in a bus, pack plenty of snacks and warm clothes.
This was a large group tour to La Gomera. You take the Ferry to La Gomera and then get on a bus for tour. Our tour guide, Francis, was well organized from beginning to end. There are several stops and sights were pretty amazing. We would recommend this tour.
Excellent value for money. Picked up and dropped off very efficiently. Ferry ride great tour of island. The stop in the National Park was great perhaps little long. We’ve had enjoyed spending longer in the Canarian house and lovely gardens. There was a visitors centre we didn’t have time to visit. But this is personal preference. Lunch was fine and service efficient. Whistling demonstration was interesting a rare talent. Fabulous views of Teide. Really enjoyed it one of the best excursions I’ve done! Guide and driver excellent thank you!
Nice whole trip to La Gomera. The bus picked us up from the hotel around 7:30 AM with our tourguide Gediminas. After picking all travellers up from hotels we continued to Puerto de los Christianos and with ferry Fred.Olsen to La Gomera. Maybe 40min and the ferry trip was over. Plenty of seats on the ferry, toilets and cafeteria to have some snacks and coffee. A different bus continued with us and we travelled along the roads with very nice views. We stopped to take pictures and continued to Eco Aloe Vera place, where we could test the products and buy them. We also got a nice presentation about Aloe Barbadensis in english, meanwhile our tourguide did it elsewhere in russian. I bought cooling aloe gel, which is really nice if you have sore muscles. We continued to restaurant Las Rosas to have lunch, which was included to the price. I felt sorry for myself for choosing the fish instead of beef, because the fish was very tasteless. We even got served wine at the table and a dessert. The waitress presented us the whistle language Silbo, which was really interesting! After lunch we continued to La Garajonay national park where we had some time to enjoy the fresh, green forest! It was quite cold up there so take at least warm jacket with you. It also rained so you might get wet too! Lastly we visited a beautiful church in San Sebastian and after that started to return back to Tenerife. The bus drove us back to our hotel so all in all the trip took about 11 hours starting from leaving the hotel to returning there. The guide was very talkative, he basically talked all the time, both English and Russian. I felt sorry for his throat because talking the whole day can’t be a bad thing. If you plan to spend a day in La Gomera and you have never been there before, this is for you!
The guide Laura was very friendly and gives a lot of information about La Gomera and Tenerife. It was a well organised day to La Gomera, great experience
Although we didn’t get a pick up we enjoyed our day immensely. The information imparted to us by Laura was very interesting. She seemed very knowledgeable. The scenery is fascinating, the ride at times thrilling. Hats off to Oswaldo for his expert driving skills. Lunch was an interesting event. Perhaps not haunt cuisine, but all in all a good day and well worth the early start
Went to La Gomera with Atlantico ,our guide Loura and our driver were excellent. Her fluency in Spanish,English and French made sure all the tourists were well informed about Gomerian history, culture and economy. Even though it rained in the mountains,we had a most enjoyable, comfortable trip.
Efficient and instructive trip. Ideal way to see La Gomera if not actually staying there. The bus was comfortable and the guide was friendly.
The views were amazing. You can see Teide while sailing and from the Gomera island. We had a nice lunch where we had a demonstration of the local whistling language. We stoped at the Aloe farm and at the Garajonay natural park (amazing forest) plus other observation points.
We got to experience two or maybe three different climates in a short time. Be sure to pack something warm for the forest.
A fantastic day trip to La Gomera, getting to know the Garajonay National Park, enjoying a authentic local lunch and strolling in San Sebastian. The guide and the bus driver also did a great job. The only negative I can list here that our ticket said pick is at 8:00 am, while we were contacted at 07:40 already, by somebody that we are about to miss the pick-up... Please communicate clearly.
We decided to have a day trip whist we were here and went to La Gomera which was a place that we had never been to before. We were picked up and taken to the ferry terminal where we caught the ferry across to La Gomera which takes about an hour. We had the same coach driver, Massimo, and Samuel who was our tour guide throughout the trip. It was quite a whistle stop tour, but was very interesting seeing things like the Hermigua Valley, Garajonay National Park, the Laguna Grande, the Roque de Agando to name but a few places. Lunch was provided at a restaurant in Agulo, which was nice and rustic. Here we also had a live demonstration of Gomeran whistling which was really interesting. The last part of the tour was a quick walk through the capital San Sebastián before getting back on the ferry. Rather than be dropped off back at our pickup spot we decided to walk back from the ferry terminal as it was quicker than going round all the other drop off points before ours. It was an enjoyable day out and we would use the company for other excursions in Tenerife if we came back here.
The tour on the bus was very good. Driver very carefully on very steep winding roads. Jose Manual was our driver. Laura was our guide and she was brilliant. Information, attention to detail and was always pleasant. The trip to La Gomera was very good ,not to be missed
Excellent trip. Paulo was excellent guide. Beautiful island. Lunch good. Would definitely recommend
Fantastic trip - feeder coach picked us up on time and dropped us in Playa where the actual coach we were using was waiting. Francisco (guide) and Jesus (driver) we’re both absolutely amazing. Francisco explained everything and provided a huge amount of information and Jesus driving of the coach around the tight windy roads of La Gomera was outstanding - including reversing downhill for 1/2 mile to let a coach coming the other way past. Once back on Tenerife we had an almost private transfer back to where we are staying with one other lady The scenery on La Gomera is just spectacular and so so different from Tenerife. Regular stops for photos and Francisco even walked us around the rainforest stop providing information. Included lunch was excellent. All in all a brilliant day.
If wed have been told what this was going to entail there was no way we would have even considered it, It was absolutly terrifying from thr momoent you arrivdd off the ferry from tenerife and stsrted the jouurney on the coach, they take you up.high into mountsins in the clouds and the shher drops at either side of the dangerous roads where stomach chutning, at 1 point the coach coming the other way couldnt pass and a back window of the coach in front got smashed, i was frightned for my life, i bet there has been so many deaths due to the construction, it should be festured on worlds most dangerous roads, it wss boring, extremely terrifying and a total waste of money and risk to life.you should be given a parachute and go on smaller buses, Never ever would i recomenf this stupid dangerous excursion it was the pits from start to finish, i shook every minute till we managed to get back on the ferry where i cried with releif
Excellent tour to La Gomera. Alex was our guide and the coach driver (Lima?). Both were excellent. Tour takes you on the fast ferry from Los Cristianos to La Gomera, roughly 50 minutes. Coach takes you up through the island, stop for lunch and whistling demonstration. Then drive through the national park in the north through the forest. Very narrow roads which our driver got through with ease. Return ferry then coach back to hotel. Excellent value for money and very good value.
