The tour is a great way to see the island and its unique landscape. Basso was a great guide and had good knowledge of gomera island. . Lunch was very good as well. Would have ve liked to have more time for a walk in the national park but recognize had to keep schedule .

Itinerary
Departure from the Port of San Sebastián de La Gomera towards Roque de Agando.
We will admire the area of the monument of the rocks, where the most emblematic is the Roque de Agando. A phonolitic python 1250 meters high that stands out for its size and shape.
a stop in the main square to visit the church of La Candelaria and take a break to try some typical product of La Gomera. Then we will admire the Fortress, today a natural monument.
We will visit the museum of the Loceras, which are a group of women who continue to keep the tradition of pottery alive
From this viewpoint you can admire El Palmarejo, the work of the renowned major artist César Manrique. From there, we will contemplate the deepest ravine of La Gomera, with its different layers of lava that tell the history of the land. In this spectacular corner began the conquest of the island, marking the beginning of an era full of adventures and challenges. An example of how, in the past, gummers used every inch of soil for sugarcane production. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the island.
In this charming corner of Garajonay National Park, we will walk along a path that will allow us to enjoy the fascinating ecosystem of the laurel forest. When you arrive at the restaurant, you will have time to taste the typical food of the island and listen to the gomero whistle, the local language declared a World Heritage Site.
In the new visitor center, opened at the end of August 2024, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history and nature of the island. You can explore the geological age of La Gomera, as well as buy and taste the famous gomera cookies. If you want to stretch your legs a little, you will find a viewpoint above the center from where you can admire the stunning greenery of the National Park.
Free time to visit the old town of the capital of the Colombian island and the tower of the count, which is the oldest military building in the entire Atlantic Ocean, and then return to the ferry
we take the ferry to return to tenerife

This was the highlight of our trip to Tenerife. It also involved stopping for lunch at a place in the national park that was one of my favorite meals in the Canary Islands. La Gomera is a special place and I am so glad we got to experience some of it. Basso was a friendly and informative guide that was tge icing on the cake!
We did the VIP La Gomera Trip, impulsively booked it whilst we were already in Tenerife, few what’s app messages with them to ask some questions which they responded to very quickly and then booked. Done. Was a simple easy process. The trip is VIP as it is guaranteed low numbers compared to all the coach trips and this also means they can use smaller vehicles so can get to places coaches wouldn’t be able. We were very lucky as there ended up being 5 people on our trip, 3 of us English, 2 Spanish. Our guide, Basso switched languages perfectly explaining everything. The pick up was organised and communicated via what’s app and was on time (2 min walk from our hotel) the vehicle was very comfortable, much better than the coaches. We arrived in plenty of time for the ferry though on our day the ferry had a rare delay of over 30 minutes, however Basso didn’t let it feel like it effected our time at any of the stops. On board there were plenty of seats, toilets, shops, cafe etc. before we knew it we arrived in the beautiful island of La Gomera. The trip itself, I will add some photos as that shows you far better than I could put into words but in short, it is absolutely beautiful, feels like you are in another world, you won’t regret going. We had plenty of time at each location, lots of opportunities to get a drink, go to the toilet etc. Basso’s knowledge and personality makes him the perfect guide. He is very friendly but not in your face like some can be, always happy to answer any questions, gave us some recommendations for the rest of our time on Tenerife etc. Our experience on this trip meant we would love to go back to La Gomera to experience it even more, maybe stay there a few nights but also made me feel I would happily arrange any future trips with get holiday, esp if Basso was the guide. Thank you Get Holiday and Basso for an amazing experience.
Very enjoyable trip. Only 6 of us passengers so we didn’t waste alot of time arriving and departing from stops.
This was an all day long beautiful tour. We were out of the van at a lot of unique, interesting and beautiful stops but even the ride itself, all around the island would have made it worthwhile. The lunch stop was one of two "best meals" we have had in the Canaries this past week. The tour guide Basso was extremely helpful. We also met really nice people on tbe tour. We highly recommend the tour!
We would highly recommend this way of seeing the stunning Island of La Gomera, have done it by coach a few years ago, and this was definitely a more enjoyable experience , Rasso was an excellent guide from start to finish, we stopped off at a new restaurant for lunch La Zula which was very nice ,clean and modern while enjoying the spectacular scenery ,100%worth paying a bit extra for a more personalised enjoyable day out
This trip was virtually a full island tour, showcasing the highlights of the island. We travelled all over La Gomera and have got to say it is a beautiful island and well worth a visit. We were taken to a lovely restuarant for lunch in the National Park which was not included in the tour costs but was extremely reasonable priced (priced by item ordered) and the food was lovely with large portion sizes. You could order exactly what you wanted and the menu was varied so I think most people could find something to eat. The only downside to this tour is that the tour guide was speaking in Spanish throughout the tour and then translating into English. However, it seemed that the Spanish were getting a lot more information about the island than we were. This could be due to maybe not knowing how to explain everything in English but it was a little disappointing. Overall though the trip was well worth it, and we all had a great day.
Very good tour. Incredible scenery. We managed to drive above the clouds and view them from above. Great guide. We enjoyed it.
This was a wonderful way to see La Gomera. The group today was only small (4 of us + guide), the transport was very comfortable & our guide Basso was excellent. Basso was very knowledgeable as to how the island & its stunning scenery were formed. The different levels of ecological environments were well explained & how the people of La Gomera are endeavouring to maintain it. Lunch wasn’t provided but a stop at a small restaurant in the National Park was on the itinerary. Prices were not expensive & the food was good. You could try some local dishes if you were adventurous. The itinerary was varied & comfort stops had been planned in. The weather was fantastic - clear blue skies so you could see El Hierro, La Palma & Teide on Tenerife clearly. Basso was a little disappointed with it as with it being so good as we couldn’t really see why the environments had developed as they have. We thoroughly enjoyed our snapshot of La Gomera.
A more private trip away from tourist traps and crowds. A relaxed way to see the life of the villages in La Gomera. Basso was a great guide, explaining everything at a gentle pace.
The tour itself was very good. The tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful. The flora, fauna and general scenery were amazing. Our only complaint was with getting to the start of the tour. We were not on the hotel pick-up list and the directions link to the office were we were to meet the group took us to an empty lot several kilometers away from the actual ferry. While we left ourselves plenty of time to get there, by the time we could contact the tour operator and get proper directions we almost missed the ferry - literally 2 minutes to spare.
The tour is a good way to see La Gomera in a day and the guide was knowledgeable. We thought the description of the tour being a "VIP" tour was a bit misleading and the maximum number of passengers was exceeded (there were 25 people on our tour). Given the amount of people the tour was slow and because we were the last table to be served at the restaurant we missed out on getting to do one of the walks. Would have been a good tour with less people.
Really loved this tour! La Gomera is a such a beautiful island with rich traditions and history. The scenery and views are just breathtaking! Our tour guide Basso made our trip not only fun but also very educational. Our small group of 6 spoke 3 different languages and he still managed to take time and engage every single one of us throughout the day. I especially enjoyed the demonstration of the local “whistle language’ (Silbo Gomero) - by Oscar and Basso - on our lunch stop at a restaurant in the national park! That was super fun! Highly recommend this tour, it’s worth every penny. Thank you Basso and Get Holiday for such an unforgettable experience 😊
From start to finish, this tour was executed flawlessly. Basso somehow managed a diverse group in three different languages with total ease, never once making anyone feel left out or secondary. That alone is impressive. What really set him apart, though, was how he did it: with effortless humor, genuine warmth, and an almost uncanny attention to detail. He was organized without being rigid, informative without being dry, and funny without trying too hard. You could tell he truly cared about the group’s experience — checking in, adapting on the fly, and making sure everyone felt comfortable, engaged, and included. That kind of emotional intelligence is rare in tour guiding. And this isn’t coming from a casual traveler. I’ve been to more than 70 countries, taken countless tours across continents, and this one easily ranks among the very best I’ve ever done. Basso didn’t just guide us — he elevated the entire experience. If you’re considering this tour and see Basso’s name attached to it, book it without hesitation. You won’t just learn a lot; you’ll have a genuinely memorable time. Bravo, Basso 👏
Loved this trip! We were picked up from our hotel and taken to Los Christianos to catch the Fred Olson over to La Gomera - a fab trip around the island expertly narrated by Bassos. We had a fab fab day! Stunning views of Teide! Definitely worth taking layers of clothing because it gets colder as you get higher up the island! Breathtaking scenery :)
Thanks Basso to guide us during this amazing trip. Despite the mist that day still impressed by the natural beauty and exciting roads. Wish to drive those roads once in our lifetime with our Harley. Grts
We booked this tour via Get Your Guide but the tour was actually delivered by Get Holiday. We were picked up by Basso just around the corner from our hotel in Costa Adeje. Everything ran smoothly from our pickup to our return to our hotel. We were in a small group of just 9 people. Basso was our guide throughout the day. He arranged everything from purchasing the ferry tickets and getting us to our mini bus at La Gomera and back. The mini bus was a comfortable 18 seater version and our driver was excellent. We did not have to do a thing other than relax and listen to Basso providing a running commentary throughout the tour. Basso was very enthusiastic about the island of La Gomera and the Canary Islands generally. His knowledge of both was very impressive and was delivered in a very relaxed manner. The views were fantastic. We were lucky to have a very clear day. It was not until late afternoon that we encountered some cloudy weather. On route we dropped off at some interesting places that gave you an insight to life on the island even to today. This is an excellent private small group tour. We would highly recommend it and Basso helped make the tour very special and memorable.
The tour guide was good and very knowledgeable. The tour itself just wasn't terribly interesting. It essentially was just a drive through of the island. I thing for people that just want to stay on the bus most of the time to see scenery from a very hot bus will enjoy it, but otherwise it just wasn't great. Many other amazing activities are available and Id choos them.
Would definately recommend this tour. Basso, our guide very informative and interesting to listen to. Stunning scenery on La Gomera and the tour encompassed many highlights and contrasting climates. I think we also benefited by being in a smaller group rather than the big coaches. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that our lunch stop was chaotic. Just after our small group arrived several coaches turned up and service in the restaurant was a shambles although our tour guide did step in and assist the restaurant staff. Pick up and drop off service for our hotel was also greatly appreciated.
Our guide, Bassa was truly knowledgeable and passionate. We really enjoyed having a small group. We learned many characteristics about the island and its history in the short amount of time. The new visitor center was a highlight for us.
Mini Bus was cramped with 18 people plus driver and tour guide. Seats were narrow and cramped and generally small inside. And bus not very comfortable. Recommend you save some money and go for a normal tour instead of a VIP tour as you will generally have more leg room and seat width on a full size coach. Should really be labelled as “small group” rather than “VIP”. The tour guide and the driver were good. And the island was beautiful. Trip was a little long and instead of lots of on and off would have preferred longer at a fewer locations, as felt like we were always on the bus.
Really the only realistic way to see La Gomera in a reasonable amount of time, because it’ll take you too long to find the good stuff on those twisty, mountain roads. Very interesting contrast in microclimates in different parts of the island. Basso is a good guide and you’ll see everything that’s important in a single day. Don’t miss the Columbus statue in San Sebastián. (This was his last port of call before leaving to “discover” America.)
This is the best way to see this very diverse island. Excellent guide. Not rushed and not too slow. Well worth it.
We were so glad we booked this small group experience. Only 9 on our tour. We had a chance to see more places and get to talk to our fellow travellers, which was fun. Basso our guide was excellent in every way. Knowledgeable and personable. He kept us together and on track for the timetable. The minibus was a comfortable Mercedes and expertly driven up some very windy roads. But we felt safe in the hands of our driver.
A small group of 5 guided by Basso was a perfect and efficient way to see the highlights of La Gomera in one day. Basso was highly knowledgeable of all the history and nature of the island. This tour is a great way to see the island in a comfortable way
Bosso took great care of us from beginning to end of the trip. The group was small, car was comfortable and air-conditioned. Our guide was such great driver! The tour plan was well thought, we had a little extra time in certain spots if we wanted to. I definitely recommend this trip if You want to experience a one day trip through the most iconic places on the island. I don't think we could do that much it in that time on our own.
Amazing. There were 5 of us, 2 from London who spoke a little Spanish and a family of 3 from Madrid who spoke some English. The tour itself was brilliant. Basil, our guide, took us all around the island, telling us lots about the island, life on the island, and the geology of the area. His knowledge is extensive, and he went out of his way to talk and answer any question, switching between Spanish and English in the same breath. My friend and i really enjoyed ourselves and made some friends along the way. Worth every penny.
It was a beautiful experience to visit La Gomera by car, very comfortable and efficient. Our guide, Basso, was an excellent driver, an excellent guide, he talked to us about everything we saw, in real time, about flora and history of the island, about local flavors and traditions, about volcanoes and flowers, he stopped to show us everything important and interesting. It was a pleasure to admire the landscapes and to listen about the history of the island. The VIP tour felt exactly like VIP because of the confort of the car and our guide Basso. La Gomera is amazing.
This was a great tour to a beautiful island. Ilke our tour guide was excellent and very informative. Everything was as described. My only suggestion would be to recommend bringing a jacket as the wind and mist makes it cooler at the higher elevations. We enjoyed it very much!
Super day - so glad we didn’t drive ourselves - very difficult steep roads . Our tour guide was excellent and gave of himself the whole day . Johan was also an excellent driver . We visited places we would never have stopped at if we were on our own !
Let us start with the bad bit; my booking was made with Viator who failed to mention the need in their myriad reminders , for UK nationals at least, to bring your passport. They also stated that the start time was 9:30 when that was actually the time the ship left the port. Fortunately we were early so I had 16 minutes to; get a taxi back to my hotel, find our passports and return to port to be the last but 2 on the ferry. My advice would be to book with Getholiday direct, something I plan to do next year for a trip to La Palma. That’s especially because this was a perfect and comfortable day out. Timings were good and explanations clear, particularly the impact of altitude on the biosphere. The small size of the group, 16 iirc, made for relaxed and trouble free stops. The lunch stop was a real opportunity to sample local food and enjoyable for that. It’s certainly not haute cuisine and one dish of anything is enough. La Gomera did the rest, breathtaking scenery and some harsh unforgiving history borne out in the landscape and natures reclamation of it. Packing so much beauty and variety into a small space reminded me of Skye and the Faroe Islands in a completely different climatic context in the North Atlantic. If you love either of those I am sure you will love this. I did not get the chance to thank Basso at the end of the day so will do here especially for his patience during my Los Christianos Grand Prix
We found the booking a little difficult. We did not understand the reason for the different price levels between the two La Gomera trips. Securing the meeting place was a little difficult because our AirBnB accommodation only provided address details at the last moment. An earlier direct telephone link or more direct email link with Getholiday would have helped. On the day we were picked up exactly on time by Basso who was an excellent guide. All of the trip went exactly to plan. Basso’s knowledge about the La Gomera, the Canary Islands in general and amazing horticultural knowledge astonished us. He was also engaging and friendly. The minibus was a top of the line transport - very beneficial considering the hairpin bends on island roads. We had considered staying in La Gomera for a few days but in the end found that the day trip which covered most of the island was a better option.
The views was great. Basso - our guide - was full of humor, competent and tells interesting stories, especially about environment and plants. He took us to many view points and to nice restaurant with silbador :). He fulfilled our minor requests without any problems. His English was impeccable. We are very satisfied. Witold and Anna from Poland.
La Gomera is a beautiful island with fascinating and varied scenery. Our guide was very knowledgeable particularly about the plants growing here. The length of the trip was perfect and well organised.
The driver was late both picking us up from the hotel and meeting the ferry on the way home. However, he was friendly and the vehicles at either end were clean and comfortable. Our guide on La Gomera (Elka) was very friendly and informative and took good care of us. Our stops were well timed to avoid clashing with large tour parties. The barraquito (Canarian coffee) in Sonia's is a must! The island is truly beautiful and very interesting. Our only problem was the restaurant at La Lagoon Grande where we stopped for lunch wasn't great. Infact one of out party found her lunch so unappetising she couldn't eat it. I would strongly recommend taking a packed lunch as this would've have made the day perfect.
It was a fantastic tour of Gomera. We learned a ton in a relaxing way. The views and scenery were spectacular and Basso was so friendly and knowledgeable. A great day away!
Basso was an incredible guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We fully enjoyed every minute of this tour. Even though the weather started out hazy and foggy that day on La Gomera, the sun did come out eventually and we enjoyed some incredible views. The restaurant he took us to was absolutely fantastic. We had a great time and learned so much about the history, culture, traditions, and plants of the island! Highly recommend.
We went super satisfied with Everything. Nice and helpful guide, interessting Tour. We had much fun.
Wonderful experience at La Gomera! Basso is a very professional guide, gentle and very well prepared. He, alone, brought extra points to this excursion. We visited almost all the island, stopping in a lot of places out of the "standard" routes. I highly recommend this excursion to those that want to feel like going around with friends!
Amazing island. Well planned and organized tour. Best guide ever! We spent a wonderful day exploring the island and listening about island’s history, nature and how people live there nowadays. All recommendations!
Was very interesting and Basso was an amazing tour guide providing tons of information about La Gomera, the Canary Islands generally, and anything else we asked him about. Was a long day, but it’s the only way to do a day tour from Tenerife and see as much as we did. Our day was a bit behind schedule due to a delayed ferry, which meant we had less free time at the end before the final boat, which was a bit disappointing but not the tours fault!
Its perfect if you want a well organized and truly informative experience of gomera. The Tour gets you all over the Place and the guide "basso" can easily be mistaken as a Professor! Loved it!
Basso and GetHoliday are very much recommended. Even at the beginning when we had problems driving to the ferry port, Basso helped us out via mobile. The trip is well organised from start to end. We were first off the ferry each way as there is a reserved space by the door which was very useful. The trip took us pretty much around the whole island with lots of stops for photos, snacks, toilet, etc. with tons of information along the way. The pottery museum was very interesting and was like a journey back in time. The scenery was amazing. We did this trip to see whether or not we would like to spend a holiday here as we are doing all the islands but, personally we think it really is a lovely place to spend 1-3 days but a week would be too much. Be warned, it may be 'el scorchio' on Tenerife but some of the stops will be very cold, so take a jumper! It has a climate of its own. Thanks Bosso for an amazing, comfortable and very informative tour.
Excellent for a first trio to la gomera! Great small group and great guide, it allows to see the essentials of the place in only one day!
Top of the range mercedesV . Excellent and very safe driver/guide on the very twisty roads of Gomera . The best day out of our holiday. Very informative.
We LOVED our trip to la gomera, Basso knew so much about the island and shared lots of interesting information. You can tell he’s super passionate about the history and culture of the canaries, we learnt so much and saw the most incredible canyons and national parks - the change in climates is insane - so amazing!!! Thanks again Basso! We will be back next time for the la palma tour!
Excellent tour and excellent guide. Interesting and new information. Incredibile and amazing views.
Interesting tour and nice small group. Some great views of terraced hills and across to Teide. Only negative driver was a bit fast for our taste!
The trip was well organised, and we had a lovely tour of La Gomera. The guide was very knowledgeable.
After researching various options we decided we wanted a more personal guided tour and came across Getholiday and booked the La Gomera trip. Initially we had problems with the website as it had a glitch but we contacted Getholiday and arranged to pay at the meet point - communication was easy and problem solved. We're really glad we chose this trip, we had a luxury minibus, plenty of time and diversity plus lots of input from Basso and everything went smoothly and nothing is a problem. La Gomera is a phenomenal place to visit and we both loved it. The scenery is stunning and the history and culture add something to the trip. Basso is very knowledgeable on plants, history and anything you want to know. I'd happily recommend Getholiday and the La Gomera trip.
