Meeting point: La Palma Outdoor (C/ Antonio Pino Pérez, Nº1 in El Paso) at 08:45 General recommendations • Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear, as well as a jacket and some protection against the rain in case it is necessary. • It is also advisable to bring sun protection and a cap or hat. • Bring water. • Never deviate from the marked trails.

Very nice hike over the vulcanic-ash towards the crater of the new vulcano. The taxi-drive who drove us was very kind and did drive slowly! Our guide Bebe (Rebecca) was superb and made several stops to explain various items. Really a must do!
Our guide Antonio explained a lot of interesting stuff about the formation of the vulcano and also of the history of the island and its fauna and flora.
Bebe, our guide is an enthoustic person. Given us much information and truhly proffesional. I can recommend here as guide. Verzonden nice and open person. thanx for the good care and hopefully see you next time.
Thanks to our guide Roman. He did a brilliant job to all of us. We got a bunch of all information needed around the volcanic area and it’s history. We would highly recommend that tour well organized by the El Paso Outdoor Office.BrJoachim and Sabine
It was very bright and therefore stunning views with a great guide! Thank you Theresa for all your knowledge and good vibes!
We took the Volcano Tajogaite tour with Aldara…she was great. She explained how volcano’s work in a way everyone could understand and she explained how Tajogaite was different from the other volcano’s I have seen…..it gave me a much greater understanding of volcanos. She explained how the volcanos has impacted the local community….both good and bad. I would definitely do this tour again,
The tour itself was well organised but parking was quite difficult with narrow streets and no space to park near the start of the venue
An interesting tour with fantastic views of the volcano. Our guide Aldara was superb and provided informative insight into the impact of the volcano on landscape, nature, environment, community and society.
Bebe led the trip really well in difficult conditions. There was a strong wind and rain and it was very cold but she ensured the group had plenty of stops so that no one felt pushed too hard. It was very exciting to get so close to the craters and there were some fantastic views out over the coastline. The area is kept pristine and treated with great respect as a pure and uncontaminated environment. The weather conditions made it quite challenging, but we were very glad to have visited.
Small group hiking experience. We had a round trip along with the recent 2021 eruptions till the crater. All remainings are conserved in its original status. We even saw some houses are half buried by the volcano ashes. The scenery is amazing. Our guide is very experienced and willing to answer all kinds of questions. 4 hours with quite a few breaks should be suitable for anyone who doesn’t have mobility problems.highly recommend!
An excellent activity. Thor was an interesting and informative guide, answered our many questions, and shared his personal account of the eruption. It couldn't have been better. We highly recommend this trip.
Thank you Juan for the great tour, very knowledgeable. This hike is not an easy hike, the conditions were hard with high winds. La Palma is a amazing island with amazing people. Great hiking experience, and great volcano experience as well!
Our guide Juan took us to the crater rim of 2021's Tajogaite volcano. Although the eruption was over three years ago the cone was still outgassing chemicals that stained rock beautiful and subtle shades of yellow and cream and white. Along the way to the new volcano, Juan gave a brief overview of vulcanism in the Canary Islands, and pointed out the effects of the eruption on the ecosystem. He also presented the impacts on the human populations that were so impacted by these natural processes that happened to rise up in a heavily populated area. It's a slow process of change and recovery for both nature and humanity, and things will never be the same. Worthwhile trip. Do pay attention to the weather, and dress knowing that you'll be spending most of your time at higher elevations than coastal La Palma.
We had the most interesting tour with our guide Juan (I think his name was). Even when my husband got challenged due to lack of medicine our guide was very helpful. The nature around the volcano is so beautiful and our guide had so many interesting things to tell us about the surroundings. Thank you so much. Next time we go to La Palma, we will definetely choose another tour with you.
Quite exceptional guided walk. It was managed faultlessly with taxos taking us to the start and end points. The walk itself had a little challenge but should be well within the capabilities of anybody of moderate fitness. Getting up close to a very recent major eruption was breathtaking. I thought I had some idea of eruptions but Juan our guide was terrifically informative. He talked us through the creation of La Palma and the effects of the 2021 eruption, making it live with his sensitive focus on the idea of a living landscape. We had very high winds but he was reassuring and realistic about handling them safely. A superb experience.
A fabulous experience. We had a small group of 5 and our guide, Amanda, was very informative and attentive. The walk is not too difficult and doesn’t need any special equipment, if you can easily manage a 3 mile walk across fields and a couple of gentle hills you’ll be fine. Be prepared to get dusty and sand in your shoes though. We did it as a self-organised excursion on a cruise ship stop in s/c de la Palma. Very easy to get the 300 bus from right outside the port to El Paso - €1.35 each way and it takes about 40 minutes. Much better than any cruise ship tour!
Excellent tour, our guide was knowledgable, friendly and passionate about the area. We would happily go again with these guys on another tour
The knowledge and communication of the lady guide The unique surroundings This was despite the mist only allowing us to see for say 100m
Educational walk (+/- 8 km). Guide Aldara was enthusiastic and told a clear story.
Negative! Booked an excursion to La Palma on Tripadvisor a month in advance that I really cared about, paid a couple of days before, while the day before they canceled the excursion without an explanation; unfortunately it was the last day so I couldn't see it with another more serious tour operator, fortunately refunded but completely disappointed.
Fast and easy online booking in the evening, with immediate confirmation of the booking the next morning. Hike on 08/18/26 in the best weather. Guide (Guia Merle) and bus (driver Gerrai) super punctual, very nice and helpful. Small bilingual group (Spanish & German) very good. Merle (Guia) told stories very well, informatively and interestingly, explained flora and fauna & answered all questions willingly and competently. She was very well prepared, for example, she had a book with pictures about the 2021 Tajogaite eruption with her. Enough breaks and stops for good photos, for drinking and for snacks. Very nice, easy hiking route approx. 3.5 hours through predominantly soft lava dust and sparse Canary Island pine forest. 700 meters of altitude downhill over a length of 6.5 km, also easy and completely unproblematic to walk for people with respiratory problems and fear of heights. Hiking poles were available free of charge if desired. An absolutely recommendable and unique opportunity to get so close (up to approx. 150m) to the volcanic cones. The bus transfer from the meeting point - Centro de Visitantes Caldera de Taburiente in El Paso - to the summit above "Cabeza de Vaca" on the Cumbre Nueva and from Las Manchas back to the meeting point in El Paso worked out great. Wonderful day - thanks for that!
Everything was well organized and carried out. Very nice and competent hiking guide.
Incredibly great hike through fascinating volcanic landscape with Juan, who was a very competent and super friendly guide.
Very well organized and excellent guide in every way
Good handling, good event, gladly again.
In addition to being a beautiful beautiful walking tour, I would like to note that our guide Bebe is a fantastic guide with a lot of humor and knowledge. In addition to having a lot of knowledge, she involved us in the culture by asking questions instead of telling the story directly herself. That certainly kept us interested. Highly recommended.
The driver Bebe made an interesting and impressive hiking tour with us. It was a lot of fun.
Bebe is a very good guide. Knew a lot about the volcanism in general and about the new volcano. Involves the visitors with questions. She also kept a close eye on us to see if we could keep up with the pace. I really appreciated that. All in all a nice pleasant guide.
During the walk of +/-3 hours we got a lot of information about the origin of the island, the different types of volcanoes and how they work. The omens of the eruption, types of lava flows, the consequences, geographically and socially, everything was discussed in a very clear way. This excursion is really recommended
Excellent experience. An amazing experience with Amanda de Guía who thought of the bad weather made us a super nice trip
Walk was beautiful! Environment of the volcano was even more beautiful than we imagined. The volcano was still smoking, impressive... Guide told interesting background information in (almost) 4 languages. Very successful!
Beautiful walk and beautiful views. The volcano seen up close and a good guide who did the guidance with a professional explanation of the volcano and its surroundings
The hike is really great, not to mention the crazy beautiful scenery. But one should be aware of the following things: 1. Those (like us) who like to photograph will not have fun here. You learn an incredible amount about the origin of the island, but these lectures always take place in relatively boring places where there are few motives. You then run past the real spots, like a house half-swallowed by the lava. 2. You don't even have 5 minutes at the crater. 3. Less all lectures, less than 3 hours remain for 8 kilometers. For us it was pure hustle and bustle and did not give us the opportunity to take photos or really perceive this insanely mystical place. If none of this is a problem, I can highly recommend the tour. For us, however, it was unfortunately completely inappropriate.
Let's hike with Simon de Islabonita tours. Excellent guide, very interesting and nice. A giant of 2m16 with bcp humor. Our hike was organized by our cruiser (Ponant).
Good doll size and lively guide, who has repeatedly shared small information packets and clear explanations without giving long lectures 👍
Very good organization.Cynthia was a lovely, competent and sociable driver. A great recommended tour.
Impressive tour, we fortunately had a clear blue sky full of sunshine. Nice well understood tour guide. Special place where you can't go without a guide.
Die Wanderung war ein Höhepunkt unseres Urlaubs. Toll organisiert, sehr gute Kommunikation vorab.
Great hike, nice, well informed guide. Probably the most impressive hike this holiday, you should definitely do if you are moderately fit. A star deduction because: Booked was: German-speaking guide, maximum 6 people (or 8, am no longer sure) a "walk" of 4.5 km, from 3 years. The group had 15 people, guidance was English and Spanish, the route was 7km with decent altitude meters. The walking pace was fast, half the group looked like they had really done sports at the end. My 5 year old son didn't have the chance to go with the pace, so I carried him almost all the way in the Kraxe I had with me. It's all totally okay and I can only recommend the hike, but you should know beforehand...
Very sympathetic guide who explained a lot and interesting. Great scenery and breathtaking scenery. Good organization.
Fantastic 5 km walk along the upper back of the Tajogaite volcano. You're about 250 yards away. Spectacular fields of ash on which the Canary pine slowly comes back to life.
Beautiful island, especially for hiking. We arrived by cruise ship and booked a private tour with Graja-Tours. We were looked after by Kirsten, who took us on a short hike in a beautiful nature reserve. This offered us a unique experience with amazing views of the Cumbrecita, among others. We also saw the devastating effects of the recent volcanic eruption, as well as the newly created volcano. A truly rewarding experience.
A wonderful island. I knew she was gonna look pretty to us, but I didn't expect that much. The landscapes, every corner, its people... an ideal trip. Fully recommended.
Excursion obligada para ver de cerca el Tajogaite y su efecto en el paisaje y la población de La Palma. Muy buen guía que explico todo con detalle
