Excellent and friendly crew, great value for money and luckily saw dolphins during the trip. Would 100% recommend

I'll start by saying the pickup, transfer, and boat itself were all very good. Lovely staff and responsive company. But we're still not over the boat trip from yesterday and would have appreciated a heads up on how rough the waters were. I don't see any mention of that upon looking back at the description of this tour. I've been on countless boats in my lifetime and have never seen or experienced anything like it. I understand this is the Atlantic Ocean and not the Med but if I'd known we would have an hour and a half of the boat lurching back and forth to the point where no one could stand up, people were throwing up, and children huddled up crying... well we would not have signed up. My daughter and I must have iron stomachs because we somehow managed to not get sick but the staff handed our bags to everyone so clearly they knew it was an issue. They kept apologizing because we didn't see any dolphins or whales but I think they never should have taken us out that far when they saw the boat rocking the way it was. At one point everyone went silent and you just tell we were all miserable plus the poor people getting sick. Again, the staff was amazing with them but it just was poorly thought out to continue on The stop in front of Puerto de Mogan was beautiful and calmer for swimming but we couldn't wait to get off that boat. Definitely not for anyone with motion sickness or even people who think they might under extreme conditions have motion sickness. My daughter is scared of boats now but hopefully not forever!
From arriving in the harbour to leaving the day was perfect it was my favourite part of my holiday! Obviously they can’t guarantee we will see any dolphins but we did hundreds of them it was so beautiful, the staff on board were incredible especially after my knee dislocated while jumping into the sea. The pain I was in was unbelievable but it was made so much more bearable thanks to the crew. I can’t fault anything on our trip and would 100% recommend giving it a go it’s so worth every penny. Thankyou so much to the crew my knee has popped back in and am resting in my hotel
Excellent trip & highly recommended for couples and families
Don’t eat before the trip. I have never been seasick before but this trip proved I could be. The dolphins were great, the crew were nice but, would never go on that trip again.
⭐️ 1 STAR – Extremely disappointing I would give zero stars if I could. Two members of our party genuinely became ill and were unable to attend. We contacted the company to explain the circumstances, but were simply told that the cancellation policy applied and we would receive no refund or goodwill gesture. I understand businesses need cancellation policies, but there should also be some basic customer care and common sense when someone is genuinely too ill to attend. We weren’t cancelling for convenience — this was completely outside our control. What has disappointed me most is the way the situation was handled. There was no attempt to find a reasonable solution or show any flexibility. This was supposed to be an enjoyable part of our holiday, but the company’s attitude has left a very poor impression. We gave them the opportunity to resolve this directly before leaving this review, but unfortunately they chose not to. Very poor customer service. I would not recommend them.
Absolutely amazing. One of our party was poorly on the boat and the staff were outstanding. Great communication throughout. Would totally recommend.
Fantastic experience! The coach arrived and left on time and the transfer to the boat was smooth and quick. Coach and boat staff really went out of their way to look after us all and were very friendly and joyful. The boat ride out to the dolphins was very scenic with lots of flying fish and birds to enjoy. At the dolphin stopping place we saw dolphins within a couple of minutes and they stayed and swam right up next to the boat for the wholr time we were there. We went a different way back to the port, with different lovely scenic views and then we swam off the back of the boat. I found the experience with the dolphins really beautiful. Thank you all for such a wonderful morning!
The trip was okay overall, but unfortunately it felt quite average compared with what we were expecting. We arrived at our designated pick-up location at the time we had been told to be there, only to watch the transfer bus drive away. It didn’t even wait one minute for us, meaning we completely missed the included transfer and had to make our own way to the boat. This was particularly frustrating because the transfer gets you to the boat around 30 minutes before departure anyway, so there seemed to be absolutely no reason why the driver couldn’t have waited a minute for booked passengers. For the first 1.5 hours of the boat trip we didn’t see any wildlife. Obviously, I completely understand that dolphins and whales are wild animals and sightings can never be guaranteed, so I don’t blame the company for this. Eventually we found a pod of dolphins, but there were around five other boats surrounding the same pod. I will give our boat credit here as they kept a more respectful distance, whereas some of the other boats appeared to be getting far too close and driving over/around the dolphins. What disappointed us most was that after seeing this one pod, we went straight to the swimming stop rather than continuing to search for whales, more dolphins or other marine life. As this was advertised as a dolphin and whale-watching experience, we expected more of the trip to be spent actually searching for wildlife. The snorkelling was also disappointing. There was no reef and we didn’t see any fish, so it was essentially just a swimming stop. Advertising this as “snorkelling” feels a little misleading when there wasn’t really anything there to snorkel and see. The team on the boat themselves were lovely, friendly and professional, and I really appreciated that they seemed more respectful towards the dolphins than some of the other boats we saw. Unfortunately, between being left behind by the transfer and having to make our own way there, only seeing one pod surrounded by several boats, not searching for anything else afterwards, and the underwhelming snorkelling stop, the overall experience didn’t live up to what we expected.
Great boat and experience but BE WARNED it is out in the Atlantic Ocean, the current and wind is strong even on the sunniest and calmest of days. Sea sickness is real (and gruesome if you’re a migraine sufferer like me). I’m usually fine with boats but this one is something else! The current is strong so not for anyone bar experienced swimmers. Floaties, snorkels and life jackets are available on the boat. ‘Free soft drinks’ are only available during the hour of swimming and are small glasses out of larger bottles. Cans of drink, crisps and some chocolate is available to purchase.
The overall experience of powering through the sparkling blue sea and actually seeing dolphins in their natural environment was amazing and magical! A couple of people in our group became sea sick, so be prepared if you suffer from travel sickness. The crew were great and were used to looking out for this so help was at hand.
We booked this excursion to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We was picked up local to our hotel and taken to the port. We boarded our vessel which was huge and had a LOT of people on, so we feared it would be difficult to see any wildlife but we was wrong. The captain took us to an area packed with dolphins. They was fantastic and my daughter got loads of wonderful photos. We then had a trip up and down the coast looking for more animals where we saw some flying fish. Then we had an hours swim in the sea with the snorkelling equipment which was fun and we saw loads of fish. There’s a slide at the rear of the boat and you can jump off the side. Pros: Lovely boat, excellent guides. Cons: Drinks are chargeable until the swim stop the they’re free. There’s lots of people on board. Food isn’t provided.
Great trip out to see the dolphins didn't see any whales . Saw fling flying fish. Sea was quite rough at times and some people were seasick so be aware
We booked a boat trip via Get your Guide, the only contact was from get your guide. The booking said 10:00 with a pick up point which was easy to find. we waited at the pick up eventually calling them only to be told quite abruptly the transfer was at 09:05 and sailing at 10:00. Get your guide eventually offered a 'good will gesture' part refund as the operator needed to cover the cost of the bus..... How would we know any different if there was no contact other that the booking which said 10:00? In what way was it our fault? Bluebird also didn't reply to an email sent and resent in Spanish. So after pocketing over £50 to misinform and then blame us we didn't even get there. DONT USE EITHER GET YOUR GUIDE OR BLUEBIRD FERRIES
Good excursion. The boat takes you close to the dolphins and you can enjoy the sight. Bring a jacket because it’s windy and it can get cold. Also the sun is strong, so get sun screen. The ride is a bit bumpy so be prepared for sea sickness. The staff is quite attentive to people.
Shuttle bus picked us up from our hotel and there was no additional charge. We set sail on the boat and within 15 minutes the boat was surrounded by dolphins. We then sailed on before taking an hour to snorkel before returning back to the harbour. Bus then ready to take us back to the hotel. Great day and great value for money. Highly recommend it.
Great experience! We managed to see lots of dolphins. It was well organised and lots of fun. Gemma was lovely and made the experience enjoyable. Would recommend it!
We thoroughly enjoyed our morning cruise 🛳 the boat was comfortable .Our prearranged transport was comfortable and on time
We had a great experience. The staff were very friendly. We saw a sea turtle and a lot of Flying Fish. We have also seen a lot of dolphins. Before you enter the boat they made a photo and you could buy the photo and a keychain with the same photo. The transfer was on time and the driver was very friendly as well. I recommend this trip to anyone who visits Gran Canaria
Excellent experience. We saw dolphins and a whale. Crew offered good local drink for tasting. Captain was professional, maintained safe distance while other boats almost crashed into each other chasing the dolphins.
Punctual pick up from the bus stop beside where I was living. Decent size boat with lots of sitting places to chose from. Informative crue, nice and soft music in the background of the boat. As advertised, soft drinks included, short swimming stop and seeing the wild flying fish and dolphins . My expectations were exceeded 😀 😃
A good sized boat with a great crew. They found a pod of yellow striped dolphins which circled the boat for 15 mins. Great seeing them in the open sea. A good trip all round
Most enjoyable time with a very prompt professional company . Pick up & drop off included in the price 😃
We had a lovely trip, collected from the closest bus stop to our TUI hotel, well organised in terms of getting on board etc. There’s no shade on the top deck, lots & lots of seats, just something to be aware of. Nice atmosphere on the boat, crew seemed happy & relaxed. Spoiler alert- we did see dolphins but almost more impressive was our guide who spoke 4 languages & switched fluently between German, Spanish, French & English for each announcement. I’ve never heard a linguist like it, what a talented woman! So we searched for about an hour & had started to give up hope - then they were spotted, striped dolphins. The Captain struck just the right balance between following the pod & pulling alongside & making sure not to harass them/cause distress. It was a bit of a scrum to get a good view and photos everyone got to see. We stayed with the pod for about 15 minutes then pulled up for 45 minutes for people to swim if they wanted. We went back to the hotel thrilled.
Where do I start? Got on the boat and was told that all drinks and crisps would cost until lunch time when you were allowed a free cup of Pepsi or lemonade, nothing more nothing less. The captain had 3 or 4 girls in his area who were almost like groupies taking turns steering (they were blonde in bikinis) and wouldn’t stop pressing the horn button. Extremely unprofessional and cause for concern. Saw dolphins from afar however the boat stayed for around 10 minutes before going to the “snorkel area” in a beaten cove where homeless people were living in tents, over an hour here and back to land. Boring, unenjoyable and way too many people on the boat as well as unprofessional staff.
We enjoyed the boat cruise even though we saw dolphins for a very short time. The swim time was lovely. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The views of Gran Canaria from the boat were spectacular.
We did this experience as a couple and we were picked up from our hotel in Maspalomas on a coach. The organiser had contacted us a couple of days before with very clear timings and instructions and a pin of the pick up point. They follow this up to check we understood and we’re happy to meet them at the rendezvous point. Coach ride for us was under an hour and very pleasant. You arrive at the marina and our met by the crew who help you sort tickets and get on the boat. The boat was clean, had toilets and plenty of seating both upstairs and downstairs. Crew were really friendly and communicated well in multiple languages. There is a bar where you can purchase drinks and some light snacks, but the drinks are free when you stop for swim at the end of the tour so if you take drinks with you, you’ll save some cash. We were very lucky and that we found dolphins about 90 minutes into our trip and saw them for about 10 minutes all around the boat, everyone was having a lovely time. The crew told us some facts about the Dolphins and let people watch in amazement as they leapt out of the water. About 10 to 15 minutes later the ship about turned and headed back towards home, stopped just outside the port so that guests could disembark and have a swim in the sea. Snorkelling equipment was provided and there’s two access areas at the end of the boat along with a slide. We had about 40 minutes to swim, with crew around to keep an eye on everybody. They were really good at keeping us all organised. Highly recommend this tour, especially if like us you have never seen dolphins in the wild before. We were out for about 4 1/2 hours in total, we loved every minute. Top tips. Take drinks & swimming stuff. If you want a top deck side seat get there early. The bottom seats are just as good but nobody on our trip used them for some reason.
The half-day cruise was well organized and very enjoyable. The Blue Bird boats are safe, substantial vessels with life jackets, life boats, and full safety briefings. Our tour director, Jemma, was very friendly and pleasant and provided multi-lingual commentary. She noted that they could not guarantee dolphin sightings but would try their best. We sailed along the coast, into sight of Mount Tiede on Tenerife, seeing only flying fish, when the captain turned around and headed to where other tour boats had sighted dolphins, and we then saw dozens of them. Afterwards we sailed toward Puerto Rico and dropped anchor for anyone who wanted to swim off the back of the ship, where there were two ladders and a slide. All the crew were friendly and professional and we had a great 3.5 hour tour. Highly recommended.
Very safe when on board, were told when the dolphins could be spotted with plenty of opportunity to see them. Crew Very friendly and helpful at all times.
Fabulous afternoon on the Blue Bird. Booked through TUI including transport from the hotel. All staff exceptional, with a special shout out to Gemma, who made sure that my daughter was well cared for. We were lucky and saw dolphins minutes out of the harbour. There were life jackets, snorkels and pool noodles available when we stopped for swimming. Loved the slide. Thank you to the Captain for our photo-tunity of driving the boat.
Excellent tour/cruise, managed to see dolphins on that particular trip. Good crew very friendly and knowledgeable on wildlife
That you don't necessarily are going to watch the animals...we weren't lucky that day. They said we could try another time but that was our last day in the island so maybe consider this before taking the tour.
Our daughter chose to do this on her 16th birthday. We had a great day. The staff were super friendly 😊 We saw a turtle 🐢 and a few dolphins 🐬 and flying fish 🐟 out at sea. When we went to snorkeling nearer to shore there was lots of dolphins which the staff said was quite unusual. We were very pleased 😄
Really enjoyed our trip, we booked it through TUI, soft drinks free when stopped for swim, we saw the dolphins which was really cool, just be aware as lots and lots of people being sick!!! Crew very helpful and polite, people being sick ruined it abit but overall a good trip
I absolutely loved the boat tour. I followed Apple Maps to the wrong part of the port, but a very kind crew member drove me to the correct place. The correct location is on booking.com.. don’t follow Apple Maps! We were very fortunate to have plenty of bottle nose dolphins swimming close to the boat. We also saw flying fish! Even when the boat was still and people chose to swim (I stayed onboard and read my book), it was a very enjoyable experience. I didn’t really interact with the crew but they seemed friendly and attentive. I’d recommend a boat tour whilst you’re in Gran Canaria. The views of the island alone are beautiful.
10am trip on 5th Feb 2025, we walked from our hotel to the meeting point and were recognised and shown to our boat ! Lovely intro from the host lady to all the staff and off we went turning right along the coast. 30 minutes in and dolphins were spotted, we got closer and it was then absolutely amazing with literally 20/30 of them showing off, doing rows of 6/7/8 simultaneously bobbing in and out, rolling onto their bellies. Crew said this was unusual and we were lucky they were so close. Boat stop for snorkeling was great, and then back to base. Absolutely loved this, crew were great, highly recommend !
Second time on the half day trip, successful sightings, practical boat and great service. And the little break for a swim is great.
Perfect trip, timely departure and arrival, lots of dolphins, really great experience. Good value for money 37 euro, We bought the ticket in Puerto Mogan 2 days before the trip
Very nice cruise with friendly crew and a lot of delphins to see. My daughers and I enjoyed it and will be back next time we are on Gran Canaria.
Very nice boat and people, took us to good places to see dolphins, provided snorkels and masks for a swim , everything well Organised
Not a single dolphin or fish in sight you get told you can have a revisit for free but that doesn't include your return transfer so it does cost you more to do it.Its an expensive boat ride to see nothing as a family of 6 it cost 200 euros the captain was lovely the other staff were rude so overall save your money for something you guaranteed to do or see
Absolutely fantastic trip out to see the dolphins in their natural habitat. Highly recommend to anyone. The coach was on time however did not call out names and it was a bit of a faff to enquire with the driver if we were with him or not. Then the journey was about 30 mins in total with some stops. Upon arrival, we were led to the boat where there was someone waiting to take a photo. This would be great however they do not give you time to settle to a pose so the photos are pretty awful but still a great idea. These cost €10 or €5 for a key ring. Make sure you sit on one of the sides as in the middle you will have to move for a view of the dolphins. After leaving the port, we were out for an hour before we saw the dolphins which was fantastic. Flying fish were seen and numerous birds whilst on the way and the sea was stunning. The dolphins were incredible. Very fun. Don’t bother moving to the front as you will have limited views. They like to jump from the waves of the boat. After this there is the route back which you can see Tenerife from. Then the snorkelling. This is ok, however I think only 30 mins would have been more than enough and an hour. This is also when the drinks and snacks are free, otherwise you have to pay for these. Great experience but would advise to wear sun cream, bring a hat that won’t blow away, water and any food you want as you are out for a while.
Absolutely brilliant for the price we paid... Got to see three types of Dolphins, free refreshments, a swim in the sea and a surprise from a Hammerhead Shark. So glad I went on this!
Everything was well organized. Right from booking over the phone the day before until the included shuttlebus transfer and the actual cruise. All invilved staff was highly service minded, friendly and paid good attention to individual needs. We saw flying fish and dolphins. During the snorkeling there was crystal clear waters and lots of fish. The catamaran boat was comfortable even in bigger waves off shore. The crew did their best to adjust course and speed to the comfort of passengers - Well done. We highly recommed Blue Bird for this activity.
Seeing the Dolphins and swimming in the ocean and just feeling the breeze and the smell of the ocean
Great couple of hours out on the water with family. Boat was lovely with three different areas to sit, relax and take in the views. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend
We had a great trip out. The crew were wonderful and really focused on finding the dolphins which they did. They were also very knowledgeable about the dolphins and took great care not to disturb them. We didn't chase them about which I've experienced on other trips.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Great trip out on the boat, we saw a pod of dolphins within 30 minutes of leaving the harbour! The snorkels they provide are full-face ones, so if you don't like them, I'd suggest taking your own. Saw lots of fish whilst swimming in the sea.
Excellent day out! Was very lucky to see a large pod of dolphins within the first 10 minutes. The boat team stayed with them for at least half an hour. Team were very attentive and provided information about area and dolphins. Would recommend going in the morning.
Absolutely horrendous experience, the worst trip we have ever done and I would strongly advise any people with children or who do not like sick to not go on this. The boat is not made for strong waves and is a catamaran, this means that it should not go out when the waves are like they were on our trip, the company clearly put money first and the result was horror film level stuff. People began being very sick all over the boat, sick bags everywhere, the sounds and stench of people being violently ill, people doing it on the floor and this went on for a serious amount of time. There are 3 parts to the sick fest: First part is sea sickness, these people go down quickly and begin puking. Second part is people who find the smell and sounds of sick, they now start being sick. Third part is when they start spraying cheap air freshener to cover the sick, this makes a new even worse smell in the mid day heat. 4/5 of use were incredibly sick, there is absolutely no way the boat should have been out on the waves it was and it resembled a hospital ward in the middle of the boat. I couldn't warn anyone enough not to chance this as we lost the day and the night due to sickness, then still felt rough the next morning.
