Really good trip under the sea, saw many different fish and the guide was in English (via supplied ear phones)

Itinerary
Discover the seabed of Puerto de Mogán aboard the Golden Shark, a real tourist submarine, and live a unique experience about 20 meters deep. For approximately 40 minutes, you will be able to observe through the large portholes of the air-conditioned cabin the underwater landscape of this area of Gran Canaria, including the artificial reef park “La Atlántida”, a project designed to favor the regeneration of the seabed through neutral pH concrete structures, and the wrecks that are part of our route. With capacity for 44 passengers, the submarine offers a comfortable and accessible experience to enjoy the underwater world without the need to dive. In addition, you can follow the experience with audio guide in 12 languages, with free disposable headphones, while the cockpit screens allow you to better know the route and observe the submarine’s maneuvers. Available languages: Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Russian and Mandarin Chinese. A different way to discover Gran Canaria: under the sea and on board a real submarine. Welcome aboard!

Really great outing. The marine park area the trip covers was teeming with fish. I was amazed how many there were and how many different species.
A great trip out in the submarine. Lots of fish to see, a couple of wrecks and the amazing new reef that has been built to encourage the return of sealife. A very enjoyable trip.
Make sure you have cash if you want the toilet as only paid public toilets by the boarding area. No drinks allowed for safety reasons but place to leave them while you are on board the sub. The experience itself was good and the staff were friendly. Only €5 for two souvenir photos which I thought was a bargain.
A lovely different experience.not a huge selection of fish that we saw only 4 or 5 but ship wrecks too.plus just so different to go to the bottom of the ocean.they take a photo of you nxt to the submarine cheap to buy & you get a dive certificate.lovely market on harbour after too.
It is only 30 mins underwater. BUT how many opportunities do you get to go on a submarine? AND thise 30 minutes are really good. Do it, once in a lifetime experience.
Our taxi driver took the wrong way to make us late but the staff allowed us to go on the next trip. The submarine has A/C saw ship wrecks and fish. Nice staff, pleasant music/audio & experience!
Really nice overall experience. I really recommend. I saw some people saying they could see things properly. We're able to see the bottom of the sea very clearly, lots of fish and quite interesting and massive shipwreck.
Yellow Submarine Experience Absolutely fantastic experience! 🚢🐠 The kids absolutely loved it, especially getting to see all the fish up close from the yellow submarine. Seeing the underwater wildlife and the ships that have sunk was fascinating and made the trip really memorable. A brilliant experience for the whole family, and the kids haven't stopped talking about it! 🐟💙 Would definitely recommend it and would happily do it again!
Great experience my son love it great family time
This was a lovely little trip and something different to do, knowing that you are always not harming the ocean while enjoying it! The town is also so beautiful so definitely worth booking!
Absolutely loved this. They give you earphones to listen to the guide whilst exploring. I was a little apprehensive as I’m claustrophobic! But there was plenty of space (seats in sets of 2 next to each other) I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this & would highly recommend 🥰👍
★★★★☆ We took our family on the Submarine Adventure in Gran Canaria and overall had a good time. It was a nice experience for the children to see fish and other marine life underwater without having to scuba dive, and my family really enjoyed it. That said, I found it a little underwhelming. There wasn’t a huge amount of sea life to see during our trip, and much of the route focused on artificial attractions such as concrete shipwrecks, anchors and even a whale skeleton that had been placed on the seabed to make the experience more interesting. While I understand why they’re there, they didn’t really add much for me. The submarine provides headphones with commentary available in multiple languages, which is useful, but the whole presentation feels quite dated now and could definitely benefit from a modern refresh. I’m a keen scuba diver and had also been diving in Gran Canaria during this holiday, so I was hoping to show my family some of the amazing marine life I’d seen myself. Unfortunately, we didn’t see anything close to that on the submarine trip. This was our fifth submarine excursion across the Canary Islands, and I’d say this was the most disappointing of the ones we’ve done. Even so, it wasn’t bad by any means—just fairly average. If you’ve never experienced a submarine before, it’s still worth trying, especially for families with children.
It was good. Very kind people and good service. Very pleasant and enjoyable and extraordinary experience. Recommend it. There were hundreds of fishes and even two large shipwrecks.
The blonde haired lady on reception was rude, never made eye contact and just barked orders. The trip is expensive for what it is, the water was too murky with the movement of the submarine to get any decent photos, maybe once down stay a bit longer for the sediment to clear. Very good commentary via the headphones but all in all just a conveyer belt to rush you on and off to get the next lot of passengers embarked. Due to not being able to take photos I don’t rate this very highly and the rudeness of the “receptionist” is making me give this a very poor review
This trip has the potential to be great, apart from saying we have been on a submarine it was the worst trip we have been on. I honestly cannot understand how anyone could enjoy it. It cost €120 euros for 4 people, which included a discount. It didn't go down as far as stated and was for only 35 mins. The worst part was there was nothing really to see. Hardly any sea life, fish were almost non existent. There were some man-made concrete blocks dropped into the sea, and the ship wrecks were pointless, nothing to see at all. Visibility was OK although cloudy. Even if it had been perfect there is next to nothing to see. The hype of going and how it actually is doesn't match up. I would have asked for my money back apart from it did do as it said and took you under the sea. Worst trip I can ever remember going on, I would avoid at all costs. The yellow submarine looks exciting but it is not in any way.
Wasn’t sure what to expect… Was pleasantly surprised….The submarine was well maintained, spotless and safe. Family really really enjoyed it. Thanks for a great experience 👌
Something new, nice and clean. Friendly staff........................................................
The submarine experience itself was very good and well worth doing. The staff were friendly, and it was a unique experience that we really enjoyed. However, be very careful with the parking. We paid €2.40 for parking, but when we tried to leave, the exit scanner wouldn't accept our ticket. We pressed the help button and spoke to the operator, who insisted we hadn't paid, so we paid again. The exact same thing happened, so we ended up paying a third time. Strangely, the barrier finally opened without even scanning the ticket. We weren't the only ones affected—two cars in front of us and one behind us also had to pay at least twice. We wanted to make a complaint, but the parking office is on the other side of the marina, and to get there you would have to enter the car park again and pay once more. It really felt like a scam and left a bad impression after an otherwise great experience.
You must go and do this it’s amazing! We had so much fun. Was only 5 euros for the photos and free parking
We booked onto the submarine adventure after seeing about it online and now after attending we are sadly disappointed from the experience. The free bus is a plus, but unfortunately this turned up late and when the women introduced us onto the coach she seemed annoyed like we had inconvenienced her. There was no real information on rules or what to do on the submarine until a video was played 1 minute before getting on board that we couldn’t understand anyway as it wasn’t in English. We enjoyed the going on a submarine part of it, though the distance we were told we was going below sea level changed from 30mtrs to 25mtrs to 20mtrs pretty quick, when in fact we only went to about 17mtres. I think for the price we’re disappointed, as once descended there isn’t actually too much to see. We expected to see quite a bit of wildlife and saw very little and if you was sat port side your view wouldn’t have been as good. Would have been nicer for it to be longer and to go a further distance to explore more.
Brilliant way to dive into the sea, see some fish, octopus and possibly more, surprises all explained in an incredible submarine Fab the family
The adventure didn't happen due to llack of customers (ballast) waited for 30 minutes just in case more joined. All passengers frustrated most had travel some distance, a hour on the bus for me and then back. Lots of staff standing around but apparently they couldn't be used to ballast the sub, very disappointed couldn't book another activity so a wasted day.
It wasn’t unusual and interesting experience, worth doing for the experience alone,
From our hotel in playa des ingles it took about an hour and ten to arrive. Once submerged the visibility was poor with very little diversity of marine life , a baron ocean floor with some attempts at a man made reef and a few ship wrecks. Overall , very disappointed, over priced and the lack of enthusiasm from the staff said it all. Good to have said I've been in a submarine but would definitely not repeat this experience. A shame ,with a bit of effort and imagination they could and should improve this experience.
Staff was wonderful and everything was well kept but the actual experience was barely visible and underwhelming unfortunately. Still a cool concept though, and I really appreciate everyone who works there.
My son and I ventured aboard this afternoon. We had previously had trips in a similar submarine in Tenerife a few years ago. I booked and paid online, we didn’t use the free bus as it left our resort at 9.15 and we wanted a lay in. The staff were friendly and helpful, when I advised my son was deaf and on the autistic spectrum they gave me a print out of the commentary to sign to him. The trip was great, the best submarine experience we have had. There is a man- made reef constructed like a ruined Greek city and this had attracted thousands of fish and creatures, plus marine vegetation, visibility was mostly good so we had lots to see. The reef will only get better as time goes on so there will be many years of adventures with the submarine.
Loved this! Great visibility. Saw lots of schools of fish, sting rays, star fish and ship wrecks. Such a great experience!
It is a great experience especially for children and the group photo was a huge bonus! The head phones kept falling off and we spent lots of time trying to adjust them to our kids ears..
Very disappointing really. Overpriced for a start. Once underwater the visibility was shocking, and I suspect that they would have known that given they had probably done numerous trips prior to ours. The staff were very friendly though. The experience of going in a submarine was ok, would we recommend it-definitely not, spend your money elsewhere.
Something we'd never done before, was really interesting and fun. Was kind of expecting to see more but would still recommend going just for the experience. Says it includes 2 hours parking but had no clue how to sort that so juat paid.
We travelled an hour to get there and they had cancelled. Apparently due to bad visability. They said they rang me to notify, but couldn't specify when.. I recieved no formal cancellation email and no missed calls. Very unprofessional and unsympathetic. On my 30th birthday no less.
A very different holiday excursion! We really enjoyed the experience. The crew were very professional and we felt safe all the time. Underwater was interesting but it was just exciting to be on a submarine.
Very disappointed. Over priced. Cloudy water and not many fish. Staff were friendly though. Good sound system but apart from that not much else. I wouldnt recommend it. There's better ways of spending your holiday money
Adventure took 40 minutes. It was quite interesting going underwater with a Submarine. Through the round glass windows we could actually see some fish, a stingray, remnants of some metallic structure, two ancient columns and of course a bit of trash. Audioguide was available in several languages (including English) which was a pre-recorded track, so I'm not sure it perfectly matched what we see. We received cheap, disposable earphones, which I find a waste of resources. Overall I am happy I went to this experience, but I would not call it a must-see.
Friday 16th January we booked ourselves on a submarine trip from the Puerto Mogán. We had to turn up 20 minutes before departure to confirm the booking, collect our tickets and headsets. Throughout the voyage there was a running commentary, available in 9 languages, this was accompanied by some fitting music. We boarded the vessel, the Golden Shark, through one of the two hatches and took our seats by the window. Once the hatch was closed, the submarine submerged and the adventure began. We learnt that the submarine was built in Finland. It has a capacity of 44 passengers and can dive to a maximum depth of 75 metres, the maximum we reached was about 30 metres. The submarine travelled at a speed of 3 knots per hour. It was reassuring to be informed the there was sufficient oxygen in the vessel to last 36 hours. Firstly we sailed into the Atlantis Submarine Park which is Gran Canaria’s first artificial reef and a protected area. It comprised of over 350 structures, made from fibreglass moulds, filled with neutral PH concrete. We sailed by shoals of colourful fish and other marine life, they appears as blobs in the photos as it was a bit merky down there. The visibility was much better in reality, the camera did not capture the best views. From there we passed over two shipwrecks which were teeming with fish and marie life. The trip was a great experience it lasted about 45 minutes and we reached depths of around 30 metres. When the submarine surfaced we were able to exit the hatch and stand on the top part as it returned to the Port. The Crew and Staff were professional and helpful.
Must do! Anyone wants to live in an yellow submarine?? Shuttle bus from hotel/pick up on time. About 30min drive to sub, but took 60min becourse of pick-ups. Mogan is by far the nicest city on Granca! The submarine is cute, quiet (electric) and smooth. The marina has wc. The sealife not so much to look at… very gray experience in our opinion, but lot of fish. About 300E pp. Bring waterbottle.
This was informative and the shipwrecks were fascinating. Lots of fish at points but the Great Barrier Reef, this is not. Don’t submerge yourself in this vessel and expect beautiful views of nature - it’s more the novelty of going down than anything else.
We loved the experience, 40 minutes is just the right length of time especially for our 4-year old. The ship-wrecks and array of marine life were spectacular to look at from inside the real submarine. Personal earphones were provided for each passenger allowing you to listen to the audio tour in about 8 different languages, including English, German, Spanish and Italian and you get to keep them as a memento. There is also a small LCD screen, per two passengers, that had a live feed of the deck camera, enabling you to witness the descent and resurfacing of the submarine. Lovely staff team who were really helpful and ensured that families were given priority for boarding and safety. The space on board has capacity for 44 people but at no point did the submarine feel crowded. We thought the price to be very reasonable, especially when you think about how much it must cost to run a fully operational submarine and the safety boat on the surface above. The only downside we thought was the selling point of the artificial reef. The advertising made out that there would be an abundance of sea-life amongst the man-made structures, however the ship-wrecks seemed to attract significantly more variety of creatures. Would still recommend to any who are thinking about embarking on a submarine adventure.
sorry to say it did not go a head bad weather . would be a great day out because porto morgan is a lovely place to pass a few hours
I had a great fun, I wish there were longer trips available. Between season and water clarity in this weather it was hard to see far but still plenty of fish to watch. some even come up to watch us at the windows :D
It was ok. I can say I’ve been on a submarine now. But not much to see below sea level. Seats were uncomfortable and something super annoying was that we queued for 20 minutes, only for families with children to show up minutes before boarding and be allowed to skip the entire queue to board first. Why???
Serene view of the seabed with lots of fish, coral reefs and a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend to visit in the town of Mogán.
Excellent adventure how often do you get the chance to go in a submarine loved it went down about 30 metres see all kinds of marine life not to be missed
Excellent experience and saw loads of fish species. All pre-recorded earphones experience but good info. Spooky sailing so close over 2 wrecks. 30mins under water and very close to seabed and man made reef environment. Glad we did it. Excellent service as we missed our bus pick up ( advised by hotel we didn't need to book the bus) - got to submarine place and they happily moved us to a booking that suited us enabling us to mooch around Mogan. No room on yellow bus but happy to pay for normal bus as we had 5 hours in the beautiful port.
Nice camera and surveillance that you can see in real time what is going around you. The time spend under water seemed too short for this kind of adventure, but the kids would definitely like it. It's a once life experience so would recommend it.
Great adventure. Proper Submarine which goes underneath to around 20 Metres. We walked up and booked it, could have booked it online and saved 10% but the online booking cuts off the available slots quite a few hours before. We wanted to book 11am at 9am but the earliest we could book online on the day was mid afternoon so we walked around at 10:30 and booked in person for 11am and there was availability. Must admit, we wasn’t expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. You get given a pair of headphones to listen to the language you want and you sit 2 people to a porthole. There is a screen showing you the outside of the Submarine so you have full views of it submerging. The Submarine goes one way out, turns around and comes back the same route so everybody gets to see everything without having to move from one side to the other. Total trip is approximately 40 minutes, On the way back, after the Sub has remerged you can go on deck and watch them navigate back into the port. Lots of fish to see as well as some ship wrecks and an area created to provide an underwater playground for the fish. Thoroughly enjoyed it…. Would be great to see this sort of thing in other places like Egypt and the Canaries. Thanks very much, two very happy customers 👍
We were a little disappointed in scenery. Thought there might be some coral to look at. The Atlantis that's been placed there needs statues and ancient wine vessels to help make it more believable. A few mermaids swimming around would help.
Well worth it. It was a very nice experience. A lot of space on the sub. Got lots of good photos. If u like marine life. U will love this. A gentle dip under water
This trip was ok a bit of an anti climax was left a little disappointed the water wasn’t very clear saw a few shoals of fish at a wreck and the trip was cut short only 30 mins long instead of 40 we lost time waiting for a photographer to take everyone’s photo so he could sell you the pics on return would I recommend it ? Probably not ,
