Yaiza is very engaging and interesting, with a very passionate way of speaking… and in so many languages - fluently! The tour was fantastic, Yaiza made reference to all the points of interest on the bus as we travelled from place to place. Lots of humour and very friendly. Super!

Itinerary
We left from your hotel at approximately 7:00 AM with destination to the Port of Los Cristianos. The ferry from the company "Fred Olsen" awaits us there, which will take us to San Sebastián de La Gomera, the island's capital.
Once in La Gomera, we will take the south route and make a brief stop near the Roque de Agando, one of the natural symbols of La Gomera: an imposing volcanic rock formation that rises above the landscape of the national park, with spectacular views of the island's ravines.
We will continue to the heart of Garajonay National Park, which contains one of the most important and best-preserved laurel forests in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. We will take a walk through a unique ecosystem, a direct heritage of the subtropical forests that covered southern Europe millions of years ago.
We will continue our route through Agulo, a beautiful northern municipality open to the Atlantic Ocean, with the peak of El Teide always present in its landscapes. This municipality is the smallest on the island of La Gomera, nestled at the foot of a great basalt wall and forms a beautiful green "balcony" over the sea. This town is considered "The Bonbon of La Gomera" thanks to its undeniable charm and its well-kept appearance. Agulo is full of pleasant cobbled streets and beautiful tiled houses with self-sufficient gardens around them.
We will return to the island's capital, San Sebastián, a city full of culture and tradition. Where will we have free time to walk around the capital of the island, with a historic castle of more than 500 years linked to the passage of Christopher Columbus, who made his last stop here before sailing to America in 1492.
Visit the Torre del Conde, considered the best-preserved colonial Spanish fortification in the Canary Islands. Built in the 15th century to defend the island, it is one of the oldest historical buildings in the archipelago.
The church of Our Lady of the Assumption, where we can delight in the result of the mixture between Gothic and Canarian style, a true museum of sacred art; the hermitage of San Sebastián, built around 1530, or the so-called Casa de la Aguada, with its well, from which legend says Christopher Columbus took the water with which the new continent was baptized. San Sebastián de La Gomera keeps the island's patroness, the Virgin of Guadalupe, in its hermitage of Puntallana, who every five years goes out in procession to all the municipalities of La Gomera, attracting thousands of faithful and curious people to its festivals. San Sebastián is an exceptional place that has very good samples of its past. Sprinkled with beautiful constructions of traditional Canarian architecture, with architectural examples that will reveal its great religious, social, political, and military activity that have been the protagonists of this settlement of more than five centuries old.

Yaiza was a fantastic guide during our trip to La Gomera. Very well informed and provided a thoroughly enjoyable trip.
This was a really good all day trip to La Gomera from Tenerife. Great value for money, fantastic scenery and a really good traditional lunch. A long day in total and, in my view, not helped by the pick up and drop off coach service. Delays in arriving at ferry ( to be fair we were the furthest pick up point from the ferry port in Las Gigantes) and return trip took over an hour. Smaller buses might have been a better solution. The guide was good but I felt didn’t give enough information to those passengers not of Spanish origin. However, enough information to was provided and she was clearly knowledgeable. Everybody we met on the island seemed friendly and helpful and it is a beautiful place. Would recommend this trip to anybody interested in visiting La Gomera.
Trip started off badly in that there was no mention at all on any of the information received from Viator the need to bring a form of id. This resulted in members of our group having to go back to their hotel and get a taxi to the port! Secondly, whilst the island tour is ok, the guide, whilst well meaning, never stopped talking! To some extent this was understandable as he was speaking in 3 languages but his non stop ramblings became a bit too much and rather than enhancing the experience he partially ruined it. Overall therefore, we did not feel the tour offered good value for money and would not recommend it.
From the moment we booked our experience, the trip was a success. Yaiza was an excellent guide, full of fun and very knowledgeable. She helped us to understand and enjoy so much of La Gomera. Francisco the driver was brilliant and kept us all safe and the only low part of the day was the lunch part at the restaurant. I would highly recommend a trip with Yaiza, she was a pleasure to spend the day with.
We have done this tour before so we knew what we were going on. Guide was excellent but had to do it in 4 languages so was talking the whole day. Unfortunately the food was worse this year. Same restaurant was inedible the Vegetarian meal. The beef meal wasn’t much better. Pick up was on time as arranged.
Trip ran smoothly. Well organised and very informative guide Enrika, he had lots of knowledge and nothing was too Much trouble. Was as advertised and
First thing they should know is that they will need to have their passport with them, we had to go back to our hotel to get them but the coach did not wait for us so had to pay for a taxi to take us to the port to meet up at the ferry to join the tour. Also you are a long time on the coach, but probably the biggest issue for us and many of the other guests on the tour was the non stop talking by the guide even when he really did not have anything to say he carried on talking! I understand he had to speak three languages so one piece of information had to be repeated three times but over the course of the tour he repeated much of the information over and over again, the talking was made even more unbearable due to the quality of the p.a on the coach.
We enjoyed the full day trip to La Gomera. The bus followed a nice scenic route with plenty of stops. The itinerary was as advertised. The highlight for us was the Garajonay National Park.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to La Gomera. We made our own way to the meeting point, where there were many group excursions, making it tricky to find our guide. We did eventually after messaging the help number and off we went. The boat journey was comfortable and took 50 minutes. On arrival, we joined our coach party to start the tour. Our guide Enrique was wonderful, very knowledgeable, funny and looked after us really well. La Gomera is a little gem, which would be good to explore in more detail another time. Lunch was included with a nice Canarian menu but from my perspective, far too much salt on the potatoes making them inedible. The whole trip was very worthwhile and would recommend to anyone.
Our guide, awesome! The best. The weather was not so good, I recommend you book in the same week, knowing the weather. The restaurant? 5/10. Probably they have some kind of contract with them. The whistling experience? 2/10. The lady was looking like she hated us all. All in all, a very long day that made me think the next time i will visit i will take proper time going on my own.
Decent tour but the tour guide spoke nonstop and very slowly - most people were grumbling about that as it really detracted from the experience.
Yaiza was a great tour guide. She explained everything in multiple languages. The pickup was super easy. The lunch was good, we had plenty of stops around the La Gomera Island and had overall 3 hours of free time with lunch included. The demonstration of silbo gomero was amazing as was the laurel forest and San Sebastian. I will recommend this tour agency to anyone who wishes to visit La Gomera. You get your price worth. If you will go with Yaiza you will have plenty of fun 100%.
Had a great experience visiting the island of la gomera. Our tour guide was really informative and helpful.
The trip was honestly such a great experience and definitely worth it if you’re in Tenerife and thinking about visiting another Canary Island. You get to see so much of La Gomera in just one day, which makes it a really easy and worthwhile day trip. What really made it special, though, was our guide, Yaiza. She was so friendly and full of energy, and somehow managed to speak to everyone in their own language! You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and that made the whole day feel even more enjoyable. Thanks so much for making our visit to La Gomera such a lovely memory!
Review for Yaiza Yaiza was an amazing guide! She showed us the beauty of La Gomera with so much passion and knowledge. She explained the history, culture, and nature in a very interesting and enjoyable way. She was friendly, professional, and made sure everyone had a great experience. Thanks to her, our visit to La Gomera was unforgettable. I highly recommend her to anyone visiting the island!
It was a very long day but you will have time to rest during the ferry ride and bus transportation. It warms up during the day so best to dress in layers
Very good experience saw some fantastic views and really interesting places around la gomera. Our tour guide was great it's a shame I can't remember her name but she was so knowledgeable and friendly.
In the experience 'blurb', it would be really informative to add advice about clothing requirements. We packed sunscreen, but instead, we needed long trousers, socks, trainers, and a really warm jumper and waterproof jacket. However, that withstanding, Enrique was a pleasure to have as guide, Informative and relatable. The trip was a good one, I just wish we had been better prepared! As a side note, the crossing from Los Christianos was very bumpy, so if travel sickness is a reality in your life, then prepare yourself before boarding.
This really is a full day excursion! We got picked up from the North (bang on time) and taken down to the South to collect some other attendees before heading to Los Christianos port. Ferry across to La Gomera took about an hour where we then had a coach waiting to take us to various stops. We had a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian for lunch at a restaurant. Everything was well organised but overall, I found the lunch disappointing. Slavenia was a good guide and kept us informed throughout the day. Everything ran very smoothly. Shame we had some Sahara sand mist on the day which meant everything was very misty but you could still appreciate the views. We had a stop in the national park as well for a 30 minute walk about. the longest stop (40 mins) was at the capital San Sebastián before getting the ferry back to Tenerife which is not a pretty town but it was nice to have a walk before the journey back. Overall, I would recommend this trip but just be prepared for a long day!
Our host guide was awesome...very knowledgeable and friendly! Learned so much about the island and the culture! 5 STARS for sure👍🏽
Actual tour was ok Food wasn't really good we didnt eat the soup the main was very small and the pudding was a weird omlette type texture with a runny syrup sauce. Also included was a water or red wine !! Would of liked a white wine or a beer but wasn't an option. Stops didn't reflect the itinerary and people not on time had a knock on effect. Would recommend La Gomera but would be better paying for your own ferry and hiring a car as the roads were very quiet and easy to drive as your own leasure.
The tour on The island was excellent, fantastic guide! The organisation before wasnt so good. I booked a pick up at my hotel, which was an available choice at the moment of booking, but then the bus never came, eventually we took a taxi to a nearby hotel where the bus was. They did whatsapp me the different pick up location, but the booking showed my hotel as the pick up, so there was confusion. Also, you need to take a goverment ID for the ferry! We had ID, but it would be better if this requirement is clearly stated in the booking info.
Good day out , good value for money but hard to understand the tour guide , her English was very odd !! The meal was disappointing but I guess they cater for a lot of people Overall it was a great experience and would recommend, scenic and interesting
A long but fantastic day trip to La Gomera. I can't fault Island Excursions who looked after us on the ferry from Tenerife to the island. The tour guide was excellent and gave us plenty of information about this small island and then escorted us to the restaurant for a delicious lunch. A memorable day.
The actual tour was OK. The only problem was that the tour guide kept turning away from us when she was talking so I couldn't hear her, and she had a very slow, soporific voice so it was hard to stay awake! The commentary was in English,French,German and Spanish, which I expected, but normally they speak in one language, then the other. However, she seemed to keep mixing them up, so I think I missed stuff. The real problem, and the reason for the low score, was the transfer from Puerto de la Cruz to Los Cristianos. When the driver arrived, first of all the driver asked us if we had luggage! Then at every stop, there was a problem, the guests weren't there, clearly a break down in communication at some point. He did say it was his first time doing it, and I hope it was his last. He was huffing and puffing and shouting. It took us about an hour and a half to go two miles from our hotel. By then, I was worried we were going to miss our ferry, he couldn't reassure us and drove hell for leather along the twisty turny mountain roads, whilst sighing and playing loud music. I don't normally get travel sick and I've travelled on those roads before but I felt really sick and frightened. When we got to Los Cristianos he just abandoned us in a car park! Fortunately, my friend had the number of the Tour Company and she phoned them and they told us to wait in the ferry terminal. I wouldn't have been able to use the phone at that point as I was shaking so badly. Coming back, it was completely different. We had a lady driver and she drove very smoothly along the main roads with no shouting. It might have taken a little longer but was much more pleasant and I felt safe.
positives: great way to see the beautiful volcanic island of La Gomera - the roads are narrow so being driven was a very good thing (Yanni was an excellent) It was a good day out and an efficient way to see as much of the whole island negatives: every other tour bus does the same route so prepare to be a small group of 50+! the lunch stop (Las Rosas) also caters for every coach party so lunch was just ok if a bit industrial - to be invited for coffee on the terrace afterwards and then asked for €1 extra was a bit sad. The running commentary in 3 languages got annoying - some quieter moments on the coach would’ve been welcomed. Overall a fun day out
The initial pickup bus driver very irate, thought we were going to miss the ferry. Bus break down on la Gomera so the itinerary was changed leading to a very late lunch and missing out part of the tour
Enjoyed full day experience of driving around La Gonera. Had several opportunities to get out of bus and had a good lunch. One mprovements: limit narration to one language. It was in English and French which meant guide was talking all the time on the bus. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Lovely day driving around in a comfortable bus and stopping for photos and a nice lunch with a demonstration of the whistling language. Then a chance to walk in a park with the laurel Silva trees and hang out at San Sebastian before catching the ferry back to Tenerife. We enjoyed it very much and it was a good value.
Excellent trip. Very well organised. Enrique was a fantastic guide, knowledgable, funny and relaxed ( I hope he found his hat). Excellent driving by Pepe along winding high roads. I would thoroughly recommend this trip.
Great experience, fantastici guide. We were really enjoying in everything.
Fantastic day on La Gomera, so well planned by Island Excursions. Enrique our guide was superb with interesting facts, cultural connections, and an amazing energy. Breathtaking views, and brilliant driving by Bepe along the rural roads. We had the very best day!
The tour guide speaks in multiple languages during the entire day. You don’t get a lot of info in your own spoken language since everything is repeated multiple times.
We absolutely adored this tour. The guide, Yaiza, was extremely knowledgeable and translated beautifully in four languages. We enjoyed the various photo opportunities, the short trek in the national park, the museum visit (we are already coming back to do the museum properly!) and exploring San Sebastián at the end. Thoroughly recommend this bus tour. Massive thank you to Yaiza and our bus driver Pepe. P.S. lunch was simple and perfect, my vegetarian husband was well catered for with a fresh vegetable stew.
The Tour was amazing ❤️, especially our guide, Yaiza, who did a great job (she can speak six languages!!! 😱). She was really caring and trying to make it a wonderful experience for everyone (vegan food was possible because of her!). I can really recommend it to everyone in Tenerife who wants to explore La Gomera.
Unfortunately, all 4 of us decided that this excursion was worse than our 17 hour travel day. The bus picked us up at 7AM. We spent 90 minutes picking up others, which is understandable, but our resort is 10 minutes from the ferry. We would have rather had a chance to eat breakfast and taxi to the ferry closer to the 10 o’clock hour. Once we got to the ferry we waited 30 minutes to board. So, eat there or you won’t get another chance until 2:00PM. Thankfully, I had snacks with us. It is a 45 minute ferry ride to La Gomera. So, even though we were picked up at 7AM, we didn’t get to the island until 11AM - 4 hours wasted. Once there, you get back on a bus and basically you are on the bus the rest of the day. Yes, it was cloudy, windy, and very rainy not allowing us to see any views. We stopped at 3 locations in the national park. Two stops we stayed on the bus because you couldn’t see anything. One being the visitor center which is nothing but tourist trap. There is not much to see or do but a little education regarding the island. We then drove past a black sand beach and made it to lunch at 2PM. Lunch was okay but portions were VERY small. After lunch you return to the bottom of the mountain and have one hour of spare time. At this time it was 4:20PM. Everything was closed for some reason. We ended up going back to the ferry and ordering drinks which was the best part of the day. After a 50 minute ferry ride we took a taxi back to our resort because we were not sitting on the bus for another 90 minutes to wait to be dropped off at our resort. We left at 7AM and got back to our resort at 7PM - an absolute waste of an entire day! If you go to La Gomera, get a private tour guide and take a taxi to and from the ferry.
Our guide Rose was very enthusiastic and competent and managed the large group very well. Our driver Francisco was very skilled at handling the narrow hillside roads and was patient waiting for us including in rain. We had a good visit of La Gomera in variable weather, views around Hermigua and Agulo were particularly awe inspiring. Unfortunately there was rain when we got close to national park, and mist obstructed some views. So be prepared for rain and sun! Overall I enjoyed my visit and hope to return, for better weather, in future!
A well organised trip to La Gonera. Our guide Enrico was informative, funny, kind, and proficient in many languages. Enrico made what would have been a great trip exceptional. Pepe our driver was great too -the two of them a good double act. There was a lot to pack in but we never felt rushed. Highly recommended. Thank you Enrico, Pepe, and island excursions.
Yaiza was an absolutely fantastic guide on our La Gomera tour. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and truly passionate about the island. Thanks to her we discovered beautiful spots and learned so much. The trip was smooth, fun, and very well organized. I highly recommend Yaiza!
A multi lingual(5) experience none of which comprehensible and no time to really get off and explore (45mins max) very average for the price. Felt sorry for the guide who was doing her best but the organisers should limit to 3 languages.
Yaiza, our Tour guide was fun and informative, wonderful how she can explain clearly in all the languages needed on the Tour,Pepe our driver your the best, seeing the island, and the information about the Whistling and hearing it done was wonderful. I had a great day.
This was very much a bus tour. We stopped at around 3-4 lookout spots for 5 minutes at a time that were picture spots. As well we stopped at a few places in the national park. One of them we had some time to walk around but the rest of the stops were quite quick. The provided lunch was delicious and a highlight with a great view. The main issue I had with this tour is that while the guide was good and able to speak 4 different languages, she did all of the speaking in English, Spanish, German and French which meant that I didn't overall feel like we got very much information despite the fact that she was speaking a ton of the bus time because she had to repeat everything 4 times. I would have preferred to take our rental car and the ferry and explore ourselves to be honest.
Wonderful excursion for anyone who enjoys seeing amazing landscapes and the wonders of nature and ecology. The lunch was good, and the ferry ride was also an interesting experience. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and personable.
Worth every penny. A wonderful day. Guide Enrique ( spelling might be wrong ) was informative, helpful, comedic and accommodating. Bus driver Francesco did some amazing driving with that big bus and averted a potential accident with his quick thinking and skill.
Tour guide managed this tour very well and make sure all there every stop. Time management was excellent. We seen quite a lot during this tour. Would like to recommend this tour to anyone. Tour guide was great!
Yaiza was an excellent guide, making the experience of visiting magical La Gomera even more special. Her multilingual commentary was interesting and engaging. She made every effort to help and assist. Our driver was excellent too navigating the winding mountain roads. Very nice home cooked lunch with some traditional Gomerian cuisine and lovely staff. All in all a great trip and I would recommend!
Thank you to our wonderful tour guide Yaiza for an amazing day trip to La Gomera your knowledge, professionalism and fun character made such an amazing experience for me and my family. We highly recommend this trip.
Fantastic full day trip seeing a lot of the sights of La Gomera. Yaiza was a great tour guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
