We paid around £100 per couple for the tour. We were told we had an 85% chance of seeing the Dolphins. That was only 15% true. We saw 0% Dophins. At one point I thought I saw one, but it was just a Seagul. Steven Seagul. After this disappointment, the man on the boat in charge did state, "It was time to get drunk". Music to my ears, but I was then offered an eye bath worth of the cheapest Cava in town. When we got back to shore, our bus didn't come for a good 45 mins, leaving us standing there. We decided to get a coach back anyway to save messing about, but it wasn't the best trip at all. Also, a baby was sick on some woman's leg. Who brings a baby on a speedboat type of deal? 85% lies, 15% broken dreams.

Itinerary
Experience a 1.5-hour trip aboard the fast boat "Biosfera Jet" along the west coast of Lanzarote Island. We depart from Puerto del Carmen Marina, giving a quick briefing about the trip and safety matters on board. The crew then starts their search for dolphins and whales, and any other marine wildlife, using binoculars, doing their best with their experienced eyes. During the trip, our qualified crew will give you detailed information about the species of cetaceans you are seeing as well as other technical and historic information to ensure a complete and unique experience. Enjoy the astonishing views of Lanzarote´s coast or relax with a swim in its crystal clear waters and feel the snorkel experience. Since we are dealing with wildlife, there are times that you could end up the trip with no sightings, although we have a high percentage of success.

Had a lovely time! Sadly saw no dolphins but we knew it was unlikely. Nice trip around Lanzarote on the sea. Was a bit wavey but guide and captain were great. Lovely views. Few people went swimming and life jackets were there for smaller children if needed. We did leave around 5 minutes late and arrived back around 3 mins early so it was short but sweet! Would do again as many of the other boat tours are longer; this was a great short alternative.
Seeing dolphins is of course not guaranteed - and as the boat turned round and headed back to port we’d accepted that on this occasion we had at least been lucky to see some flying fish. Then a pair of dolphins surfaced within 10m of the boat! The crew slowed the boat right down and we found ourselves in the middle of a pod. The dolphins were swimming with the boat, racing, leaping and flipping. There was even a baby swimming next to its mother. So moving. The boat is small enough that you still feel close to the water, but large enough to keep steady in the waves so none of us felt sea sick. Thank you to the crew for a fantastic experience.
Absolutely poor experience and would not recommend. It was overpriced, despite going direct to the tour operator for the best price. We were a family of 4. We were the last in the queue, despite arriving 20 mins early, and had to stand in the blazing sun. Our seats were at the back and had no view at all. The hour at sea to see dolphins and other wildlife revealed only tourists on various boats - there is no way we’d ever see dolphins with the noise of all the boats on the route. The guide admitted to being severely hungover and gave no useful facts or history to keep us entertained whilst we were searching for imaginary dolphins. The final 30 mins were to swim in the sea, which wasn’t ‘crystal clear waters’ as described. In fact, we were by a banana boat place, so had constant additional waves. Waste of money. Do not go.
Wow this was a humbling experience. Although I’ve been abroad around forty times I’ve never seen dolphins in the wild. We were not guaranteed to see them and the guide told us that on Saturday one trip had seen them and one hadn’t. I didn’t expect to see them. One was spotted at first then eventually there were about twenty. We were so excited! Some of them were doing tricks like backflips and some doing synchronised swimming ! I could still cry even writing about it. You could feel their joy. You must experience this.
Friendly and funny. 🙂 It was very nice, good organisation, nice price, good information and warm water. We Love it. 🛥️⛱️
We did this tour today. There were 3 staff on board but the Captain was Teddy.Other reviews have stated there were no dolphins to be seen,so we didn't hold out much hope. But the staff soon spotted a pod and headed in that direction. They reduced the engine and for a good 30 minutes we were surrounded by the pod who were circling and coming close to the boat in a playful manner. After the dolphin interaction we headed back toward the harbour but stopped to allow people to swim off the boat. The staff were very patient and caring toward the children onboard. All throughout the trip they took time to explain the types of dolphin, whale etc in the locality as well as some local history. The money spent on this trip was extremely reasonable considering the staff interaction and the dolphin pod they found, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this trip and company to others seeking a trip on the sea.
The crew was very engaged and funny. We haven’t found any sea creatures but it was still nice for me and my 4yo to experience his first cruise.
Boat was clean. The experience was a Such a bore. we made our way out to open sea looking for Dolphins in a leisurely way. After 45 mins no luck. Fair enough it’s not guaranteed and that’s fine but it’s supposed to be a speed boat when after no sightings the Captain could of given us some thrills by opening the throttle. But no he decided to cruise along the coast. The ferry was quicker over to Calero. Don’t waste your money it’s embarrassing.
This dolphin and whale watching trip was a significant disappointment. Despite the trip description, we did not encounter any dolphins or whales, which, while understandable, was a major factor in our decision to book this tour. Furthermore, the advertised "Swim and Snorkel experience" was completely absent. The boat did not stop at any location suitable for swimming or snorkeling, making the trip feel more like a simple boat ride. While the lack of wildlife sightings can be attributed to unpredictable nature, the absence of the promised snorkeling experience is unacceptable. This tour could easily be replicated, by taking a ferry to nearby islands at a fraction of the cost.
Decided to do this mini cruise as a last-minute decision and wow what an experience. Quite a peaceful drive out aboard the boat and lots of hunting but not a dolphin to be seen, but that's not the end of the story. Coming back, the captain opened up the boat, and we were flying high over the waves and landing. Some passengers were soon back on the seats as being tossed off their feet. No one was hurt, but what an experience it was. We even stopped off tied to a bouy for anyone who wanted to swim in the atalantic Ocean. Only 1 person was brave enough as the current was strong.
Friendly staff and nice boat but unfortunately no dolphins were seen. We spent 1.5 hours just looking at the sea. Not even any coastline to see in lieu of no dolphin appearance. It was definitely the most boring boat trip we’ve ever been on when on holiday. The sea was quite rough which resulted in people being sea sick and therefore toilets unusable. The crew did clean it up but it wasn’t pleasant all the same. Would definitely recommend taking anti sickness tablets before going on this trip. Feel like we completed wasted an afternoon.
great trip to see the dolphins, very lucky to find a pod of about 20 that stayed with the boat for 15 mins or so. crew were very helpfull and obviously experienced. shame about the 2 selfish women who hogged the boat front for the entire trip, a lot of others would have liked a chance. maybe the crew will learn from it
the views were so amazing, I didn’t think that I would see any dolphins at all but I ended up seeing loads. the crew were amazing and they were all so helpful and nice. one of the crew members which I don’t know the name of was so great and funny and made sure everybody got a go to get to the front and see the dolphins up close, this was one of my favourite parts of the whole holiday and I really recommend it.
We booked as a family of 3, and honestly I didn’t really have super high expectations of seeing any dolphins on the trip as I know this is something the crew can’t control, we were just happy to go on the boat trip and enjoy the views. That being said, we were absolutely thrilled to see loads of dolphins on the tour! It was incredible to see them in their natural habitat. Aside from being able to see the amazing dolphins, a lot needs to be said for the crew of our boat because they were just fantastic. I wish I’d taken the name of one specific crew member because he was incredible, he was really trying to hype everyone up and make it a fantastic experience for all (which it absolutely was). He made a real effort to ensure ALL of the kids on board got a chance to stand up at the front and see the views and dolphins, which was lovely to see. He was also really funny and made us feel so relaxed and at ease, massive kudos to you dude! There was a chance to jump off the boat and swim in the sea before we headed back to the port which we didn’t take part in as we’re not very strong swimmers, but during this time a couple on the boat with a very small child (around 3 years old) decided to go and swim in the sea and leave their small child on the boat unattended (each to their own 🫣😕), however one of the crew members kept checking on the child and ensuring she felt safe and was ok til the parents got back on board. It was a fantastic experience and well worth the money, you might not see any dolphins because obviously this isn’t something that can’t be controlled… but it’s still well worth the trip for the views and the chance to have a dip in the sea if you want to. Thanks to the members of the crew on board who were absolutely brilliant and made us feel really welcome and entertained, we would highly recommend this experience and my 11 year old daughter absolutely loved it, it was the highlight of our trip to Lanzarote (also loved the Macarena serenading us as we arrived back in to the port 🤣)
Very fun trip, unfortunately weather wasn’t the best but that’s hardly their fault. Would highly recommend, got to see a couple dolphins and a turtle
We have just returned from a Dolphin mini cruise which can only be described as downright dangerous. All was calm in the local harbour, however once we turned the corner into open sea we were subjected to an experience from hell. The jet biosphere boat was tossed around with a ferocity that was hard to believe. With no safety equipment provided it really was a case of hanging on for dear life as the boat flew up in the air, rolled from side to side and crashed into the waves. We were subjected to this for 55 minutes as we went up the coast and then returned after which my wife was very sea sick. Needless to say, no dolphins were spotted, probably too rough for them to make an appearance. What happened to the wellbeing and duty of care for the safety of passengers? Unbelievable that Lanzarote Sea Tours allowed this to take place in these conditions, putting revenue before safety. a most horrendous excursion experience.
Terrible ,we were told we would go out to find dolphins but we sailed in tiny loop with no chance of any views when told we could swim in freezing sea for 1/2 hour ! Total waste of money €30 each . They will never see dolphins that close so feel they aren't being fare with the 45 customers on EACH trip , Avoid this it was tour we took by miles
We took this mini cruise last week. Told to arrive 30 mins before, but were told to walk to the far end of the harbour 5 mins before the ride. With my disabled wife it wasn't very easy to say the least. The boat ride was good but we didn't see any dolphins, the crew mentioned that for such a short cruise it was difficult to spot dolphins ! Overall a less than satisfactory experience.
The crew was friendly. And they made the tour fun. The view of the ocean was amazing and seeing so may dolphins in their natural habitat was a very special experience.
We went on this boat and spotted a couple of dolphins from a distance, however they then disappeared. The boat stayed in that same spot for 5 minutes, and then left and went back to the harbour. I’m fully aware that they cannot guarantee dolphins, however as this boat trip is specifically for dolphin spotting, I would have expected them to spend more time having a look around for them. I felt that no effort at all was put into trying to find dolphins and not enough time was given. We then stopped right outside the harbour for a swim. The water was not clear, rather not very inviting due to the location right next to the harbour. This time should have been spent putting more effort into looking for dolphins. Really disappointed with this trip and wouldn’t recommend it. Also, to add, the boat was 15 minutes late leaving, although they did make the time up at the end. Felt like a waste of money.
Pick up from location and drip of spot on . Crew received us with a smile and correct information. Dolfin trip was outstanding and guided in a very professional way . Can recommend strongly
Awful trip - total scam. 75 euros to sit on a boat for an hour, swim for 5 minutes and come back. Not sure if the people operating the boat knew what a dolphin looks like. Never made an attempt to stop at all, full bore for an hour - not sure how you are meant to see anything. Few people complained and wanted their money back as it is a clear scam - were shouted at and told to leave before the police arrived - staff totally unprofessional and unapologetic. I understand you take your chance on wildlife sightings but this was a joke. AVOID if you don’t want your holiday ruined.
No dolphins but pleasant navigation on the sea. A stop at sea (instead of stopping along the coast) would have been nice and perhaps the dolphins would have shown up.
What a fantastic trip, staff were amazing and friendly. Onboard facilities as expected. We knew there was no guarantee of sighting any dolphins so you can imagine our elation when we were lucky to spend a considerable amount of time with a very large pod. I can’t explain the overwhelming feeling to see wildlife in it’s natural habitat, the dolphins followed us around which was so nice as it felt like they truly wanted to investigate rather than being forced for food . Do not give this trip a miss
Not much I know you can’t guarantee to see dolphins stopped too long for diving also to have very young children unaccompanied at the very front of the boat was dangerous they should have been wearing life jackets and also it was definitely not 1 1/2 hours
Didn't see any dolphins but I am not docking any points for that as it cannot be guaranteed. I am however docking 2 points for the following reasons 1. We were left standing for 40 minutes in high sun to wait for the boat to arrive. If the boat is not due to arrive until 1.30 (and wasn't ready for boarding until 1.40) you should not be telling people to be present at 1pm, this is not a flight. 2. The French speaking guide was very rude on three occasions to my family. This is not France, it is Spain, so paying guest should be treated with respect and dignity. Other than that the boat trip itself was boring half of the time because they went slow half the time. The 15 minute swim off the boat was fun but note they do not supply buoyancy aids for children. They are not a proper leisure outfit, just a money making machine and definitely not worth the €100 for the family. Money would be better spent elsewhere.
It was more of a friends boat ride. No commentary and no dolphins. And then a dip into the those for those interested. Was not told that we cannot see any dolphins. Such a waste of money.
Major false advertising I get that it’s not 100% guaranteed, however do not label this activity with the word dolphin when the chances are near to none. It’s misleading and disappointing. On arrival we were prompt as advised by the email prior to the trip, as it stated the boat would leave punctual. Unfortunately the boat was late and we boarded 12 minutes late, this time wasn’t compensated at the end of our trip, no apologies and the trip was cut short on top of this aswell. Advertised as a 1.5 hr trip and we weren’t even on there a hour. When we went back to the check in office (Lanzarote sea tours) to express our concerns, the woman there was extremely rude. Told us it was bad luck and to go away as she doesn’t care what we have to say. We were told we didn’t understand anything and to write a bad review as they didn’t care. Ultimately we came away very disappointed as all we experienced was a short trip out to sea, turn around and came back. I feel I could of done this on any trip.
Very poor experience with rude staff. We turned up at the allocated time as we was advised the boat would go without you. The boat was 35mins late, woman at the ticket hut just shrugged her shoulders when we asked how much longer we’d have to wait whilst she chained smoked within a foot of where you were queuing. We didn’t see any see life what so ever, the lads controlling the boat were okay, didn’t offer any commentary or any insight to what was happening. You get to jump in a bit of sea for about 5 minutes which was fairly shallow so you could just do off the beach for free in your own time. We understood that the animals were obviously wild so it would be hard to guarantee seeing any but the whole thing was just very poorly run. We went and complained back at the ticket office which is right by the dock and the woman I mentioned already was so rude, still stinking of cigarettes so keep your distance when speaking to her if that’s something that makes you feel sick or just better still just don’t go at all. She rubbed her hands together in our faces, said your just unlucky and said bye three time really loud whilst waving in our face. No empathy or any sort of understanding where we was coming from. Then her male sidekick appeared and tried to make out we were stupid and didn’t understand anything whilst repeatedly trying to put his hand on my partners shoulder. All in all awful experience. Save your money. There is a zoo up the road which is slightly more expensive but you see dolphins in a dolphin show and it’s much more fun, without having to deal with a rude, coughing, cigarette addict and her very touchy touchy work colleague. SAVE YOUR MONEY, AVOID
Thank you so much for great service. Myself and my boys were 5 minutes late getting to the boat and the kind lady waited for us so that we didn't miss out. Thank you again!
Wonderful trip on a cloudy day but that's the best time to see lots of dolphins, on previous trips have only been fortunate enough to see one or two but this was our lucky day! as everyone was enjoying so much we didn't stop for swim we stayed with dolphins for whole trip. There was one down side however when booking with travelon.com it was advertised as setting off at 11.30! we actually boarded the boat at 11.55 not impressed it's a good job it wasn't a hot day as was left standing on quay side with no protection and nowhere to sit, not good when you have mobility issues!!
Unfortunately we didn't see any whales or dolphins, it was just a speed boat trip, Little English speaking no real organisation at the Dock. Disappointed
We sailed for about 30 minutes, then the dolphins🐬 appeared right in front of us ! Just so magical to see these delightful creatures in their own environment ! I would thoroughbred recommend this trip! What we weren't aware of is that the boat stops to let you have a swim, so if you are up for it, take your cozzie with you!
Saw loads of dolphins, amazing day trip with excellent hosts who made sure everyone made the most of it.
If there are dolphins to see they will find them. Nothing is guaranteed of course but we we lucky to see a few pods and spend some time with them. The crew was excellent and looked after everyone well. Totally let down by the staff at the waiting point who was not friendly or helpful. The tour was running late and could have helped let everyone know what was happening. I probably would not have bought tickets at the office she was in if I had not booked online.
Was better than expected arrived at the harbour a little early But was not a bad thing had a breakfast in the restaurant across the carpark then when time went to the meeting point We were on the boat less than 10 minutes and came across a skool of around 50 dolphins 🐬 baby ones as well This was better than expected as was only expecting to see 1 or 2 Would I go again yes although there is no guarantee we would be lucky enough but we'll worth the effort
Unfort we didn’t see whales or dolphins but that can’t be helped as they’re wild animals. However the boat trip itself was otherwise dull. There’s nothing else to do but sit in the boat unlike other trips where you may be able to lounge about on the big nets or enjoy the view. There’s no commentary and the little speaking the staff did was unclear and couldn’t be heard. The music they chose was bloody awful and someone complained so it was switched over. You don’t go far from the port itself then on way back stop briefly in a very sad unpicturesque spot with the option of jumping in the sea for 5 mins. No snorkel gear offered. Disappointing trip. I’d suggest looking at another boat and maybe going a different route. Wish we’d have gone to lobos island or something else now :(
What a dull trip No dolphins though obviously this can't be helped. However no commentary from the staff abiut what we could see. No binoculars offered. Short swim at the end and no snorkels offered! Tourist trap.
No Dolphin, nothing to do, swim 50 m before the port. Boat smell like puppies. Worst boat trip I ever had. If you want to loose money, jumping in.
I gave 3 points out of 5 mostly because the staff was friendly, otherwise I would have gave less. I understand that it is difficult to guarantee to see Dolphins during the cruise, but then don't call it "Dolphin Mini Cruise" and clarify that there is the possibility to also see dolphins during this Mini Cruise sometimes, but that it is indeed only a mini cruise... that would be way more fair! And, to be honest, 30€ for 1-hour mini cruise around the coast is too much.
Having a boat trip out to sea. Roughly about half an hour, we came across a pod of dolphins. Our best excursion trip in Lanzarote.
Pros: 1. Left on time 2. Clean 3. Staff fairly friendly 4. East to get to 5, Boat is good Cons: 1. Didn’t see any Dolphins (I appreciate they couldn’t guarantee we would…but makes me wonder when they last did!). 2. No snorkels provided even though it advertised they would - made the swim in the shallows almost pointless. 3. Over priced Overall it was okay but I won’t do it again.
I was surprised with a trip to lanzarote to celebrate my 40th birthday. As a special gift I was bought the sunset dolphin cruise. The pick up from the hotel was fabulous, they arrived on time after collecting other tourists on the island we arrived at Peurto Carmen. We boarded the boat and unfortunately that is where the fun stopped! The boat was more like a speed boat and the boys that were behind the wheel found it funny to get people on board wet. They spent much of the time on their mobile phones and didn't offer any commentary at all. There was no sign of dolphins or any other sealife at all. The atmosphere was very dull and we were left with no interaction from staff for a long period of time. There was a lot of disappointed people on board. As for the glass of champagne and snacks, this is slightly misleading more like a mouthful of cheap fizz in a cardboard cup, snacks were 2 small pieces of cake. The only thing that was enjoyable was the spectacular sunset behind the mountains. If your a dolphin fanatic like myself, I would advise booking a visit where you no that you are guaranteed to get what you pay for.
Absolutely brilliant trip, got to see the dolphins after 50 minutes of searching , the guide was really good too , highly recommended
The moment of upcoming dolphins, in couples or three or four swimming in harmony. It was good that the boat do not get to close. I had the feeling not do disturb them too much in their freedom.
Although we did not see any dolphins or whales due to stormy weather, the team made the best out of it with a speed cruise on the moving ocean and big waves, which was so much fun. We really enjoyed the boat trip and the tour guide was great. Unfortunately the trip was only 1,5 hours instead of two, however I would highly recommend the tour!
We didn't get to see any dolphins but we enjoyed the trip music was perhaps a bit too loud, good social distancing going on as well.
Dolphin tour is fantastic. Boat is spotless and guide speaks a few languages (clearly) You can swim at one part (wasn’t aware) good value, perfect for children
very good and proffesional. the boat trip was superb even though we did not see any dolphins or whales.
