Having undertaken a Dolphin sightseeing tour in Fuertaventura a week prior to this, we have a very good idea of what good looks like and this is simply not it. The included transfer was fine, albeit long but that's expected. The trip itself was very robotic, we set off and then there was no one from the crew to be seen. They kept playing a prerecorded announcement in a few different languages over and over and then we came back. We saw no dolphins or whales, which was of course disappointing but seemed like the crew expected this as there were ZERO other boats out at the same time - very different to our Fuertaventura trip where the crew kept you informed throughout what was happening, dolphins or no dolphins. They offer a free return in case of no sightings but it's one of those things where it takes half your day doing this, so would you really spend another half day on the coach? I would not book again or recommend, not because of no sightings but because the service was non existent. They could've at least explained other wildlife in the ocean, for example.
Booked with TripAdvisor to avoid paying more with the travel company. It was so easy my booking was confirmed and I received details of pick up straight away via WhatsApp. The boat was a decent size but not too many people so it was just nice. The guys where very informative and we were told if we didn't see the dolphins we would get a free trip to try again. I wasn't disappointed we saw the dolphins and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend this trip
I must say I had different expectations for this trip, maybe because I have never sailed on open ocean. The ocean was very rough and it felt like the ship would break apart. We have travelled about 1 hour to the deep ocean to see the dolphins and flying fish. The sightseeing only lasted around 30 mins and we were happy to see the animals. However, I don’t think the 1 hour trip in/out is worth it. I would definitely not recommend this if you have sea sickness or easily scared. However, the staff were really attentive and supportive so can’t fault them for that.
I would recommend booking early on in your holiday as we didn’t see dolphins , we were advised we would receive a voucher for another tour which we didn’t get , some visitors returned to the boat after disembarking asking for their voucher so my advice would be to go early so you get a chance to use the voucher if needed , boat was very clean and guides were nice
Avoid avoid avoid absolute rip off poor customer service Avoid Franco at the sales desk aftercare disgusting Save yr money
We saw a Whale, Dolphins and lots of flying fish. The experience was fantastic and the guide was exceptional. If you get sea sick easily I’d think about taking sea sickness medicine or consider something on land.
An amazing experience with an incredible crew! The ride was quite choppy, so I highly recommend taking motion sickness medication beforehand—nearly half the passengers were seasick! We found that the side seats were the best spot to sit. Don't worry about missing out, though, as you can see the dolphins from every angle. The crew was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always smiling. They worked tirelessly to keep the ocean clean by picking up trash along the way, while also doing everything they could to comfort sick passengers. A few tips: hold on tight, keep a close eye on your kids, and don’t put your bags on the floor, as water did splash into the boat at one point (which was actually pretty fun!). Seeing a whole pod of dolphins jumping and swimming right next to us was absolutely amazing. To top it off, the crew let us swim for 5 to 10 minutes before heading back to the dock. Thank you, Spirit of the Sea!
Absolutely fantastic, worth the money. Unfortunately our hotel wasn't in the area for pick up and drop off. But we got the taxi's easily enough.
Really nice trip! It was a bit windy and waves, but the staff was super helpful ! They helped you get around on deck, and if you where seasick, they helped you! And then! You saw a lot of dolphins!
Excellent from pick up to drop off, use Viator every year for the same trip for the last 11 years. Will use again next year.
Great trip!! We saw a lot of dolphins and the crew was really nice and helpful. The seas were quite rough and the crew did everything they could to make everyone feel well.
It is a very popular thing to do. There are a number of boats tracking the dolphins - so spoilt for choice. Booking with Viator was easy as usual and the trip was enjoyable and saw plenty of dolphins. 2 and a half hours was just right.
Lovely trip out to try & find the dolphins. We went far out as they were hiding with their young. So lovely to see them swimming with their baby’s when we did find them. Also enjoyed the swim in the sea after visiting them. Only thing i didn’t like about the trip was the amount of boats that come & crowd them once found. Fair play to our boat skipper he moved as soon as boats started to come closer to give the animals space especially as mum is trying to protect her young.
Saw lots of baby dolphins which was beautiful. Could only hear commentary if downstairs and it was generally safety aspects. If there was information on the dolphins or other sea creatures we could not hear it.
It was a horrible experience. You feel sick the whole time (and I usually don’t get seasick), and so did the other passengers. For children, it’s a shocking experience. They should mention that instead of showing only the romantic side of the trip. You feel so sick that you can’t even see dolphins.
great trip out. first time seen dolphins in the wild. tried a few times in lanzarote, Tenerife , but finally here Gran Canaria . only thing tips. these days no one carries money . should set up something when we do your review
It’s quite a time consuming activity. They picked us up at 9am from our hotel and dropped us off at 3:50, so it was about a 7-hour trip. We saw some dolphins, but it took around 2 hours to find them. The provider was okay.
the dolphins were beautiful. Great trip. The staff was very nice. They also assured us we would see them, if not, the next trip would be free of charge.
I went on this trip in the afternoon leaving at 1:30, the staff were pleasant and very helpful. There was mix of families and couples on board and the the journey started out vey calm and pleasant, until we hit open water and the boat started rocking from side to side. The first person to get sea sick was about 40 mins in to our journey then all around me people started experiencing severe sickness. The staff started handing out sick bags to those unwell. Apart from the sea sickness we did not see any Dolphins or Whales on our trip. I thought the safety announcements were very poor we didn't see any lifejackets or demonstrations on how to put them on. this is something that should be reviewed by the company. I wouldn't recommend this trip to small kids or elderly people as the boat was very rocky. The journey was roughly 3 hours and soft drinks were free. Overall the staff were very nice and friendly helping those that need to move seats etc.
The dolphins we out in style on Friday 22.08 25. Great trip definitely recommend. I know there are always no guarantees to see them. But we were very happy.
Great trip go on sea was a bit rough lots of people feeling poorly. But well worth it to see the Dolphin 🐬. Grandchildren thought it was amazing to see the Dolphin.
We saw a very large fanily of dolphins. Sadly, no whales, but those pretty rare as I understand. The dolphins got very close and the put on a great show for us!
The cruise was excellent, we enjoyed it very much. The crew was really nice and dedicated. Although it’s not guaranteed, we saw dolphins, which was very exciting. All recommendations.
Lovely setting and friendly staff, but unfortunately the food was below par. The pancakes were hard and difficult to cut, the scrambled eggs were overcooked, the bacon was grey, and the tomatoes in the breakfast were not cooked. The sausages had a paste-like consistency, which was quite unappetising. The salmon baguette was lovely and easily the best item we ordered. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you're after a proper full English breakfast. That said, I can't speak for the rest of the menu, as I haven't tried the other meals. However, based on this experience, I wouldn't return.
Very friendly crew, good knowledge of the area and the marine life. The conditions were very good and we saw too different groups of dolphins with around 200 in one and over 100 in the other. Also spotted a giant sea turtle.
Great trip although didn’t see any dolphins or whales. Make sure to take travel tablets before you go as sea can be a bit choppy
Got to see dolphins (as promised) an amazing experience all around. For those who do get seasick they provide sick bags and for those who cant handle others being sick id recommend sitting somewhere towards the front of the boat
My fourth time doing this trip but my friends first . Pick up was as arranged and after what seemed like a lot of other pick ups compared to other occasions, we arrived in Puerto Rico for the trip . It's a bit of a scrum to get your tickets as everyone is just standing in the middle of the road and trying to get their tickets first . This is the only thing in my opinion that definitely needs looking at ,as so chaotic. Once on board we took our seats upstairs , not quite at the front as we'd have liked to have been, but those seats go quickly for obvious reasons . The commentary from the crew is great , in several languages, with a little bit of humour thrown in . People were pointing out what they thought were dolphins when it was just seabirds on the water, but eventually we got the message we'd been waiting for .......the dolphins were here !! At a guess I'd think the pod was about 20-30 dolphins in size but hard to tell as they don't stay still for you to count them 🤣🤣.......very inconsiderate 😜😜. The dolphins were down each side , some jumping , most just gliding through the water and in front of us as well. As per the law , we observed them for about 15-20 minutes before we had to say goodbye and start the journey back to the dock . A brilliant trip and I'd recommend it to everyone .
Really good day, the crew were friendly and had a great sense of humour. Got to see lots of dolphins and whales, it was an amazing experience
Good communication after booking. Picked up on time on comfortable coach. Very pleasant crew who are happy to have you aboard their boat. Good information given out during the trip regarding the local area and ecological work being done. Thankful a group of dolphins put in an appearance and the captain ensured everyone aboard got to view them.
We had a little trouble with our collection point apparently this is quite common for the company according to our Jet2 advisor. Anyway, That aside the crew was brilliant really friendly and the main man was bilingual which was amazing! We went out quite far the boat wasn't over crowded at all and we got to see a pod of dolphins swimming close to the boat the sea was really calm aswell so we felt really lucky seeing the dolphins was really special. We hope to use these guys again next year!
We went quiet far out off the coastline and managed to spot lots of dolphins, they came so close to the boat jumping in and out of the sea amazing to watch. The boat stopped on the way back for a swim stop for about 20 minutes. Free soft drinks on board and the staff where great, bit choppy out at sea though so be careful if your sea sick because it definitely caught a few out.
Awful, absolute no effort made to go out to see dolphins, honestly spent most of the 4 hour trip moored up with people doing other activities...jet skis, banana boat etc etc, all updates on the boat , I asked about the dolphins and was told in broken English later we will go pretend to look...which we didn't, food was awful boat left 45 mins late. No buffet it was actually an absolute waste of a day!! Nice staff...the music was lasting so loud we couldn't even talk to each other... do not go on this trip.
We really liked the Dolphins watching trip as a whole. The pickup is arranged, the boat crew is nice and helpful to the people. The crew know where to go to find dolphins so this worked out fine. What could be a bit better is equal changes. At the start of the trip it was mentioned to keep your place as there was no need to move around to have an equal view. Positioned at the front were taking standing and kept and sides were not equally served in my opinion. The angle of view especially on the top is not the best to take pictures. A lower view for al would work better.
We saw lots of dolphins and turtles. The boat was great fun the sea was quite rough and you will need warm clothes and towels we had both and were sopping wet and frozen.however the boat carries blankets.
It was very good and the dolphins were out there to watch. However, no whales. The crew was attentive and very professional.
Very friendly staff on board..... very informative telling us about the sea and species of dolphins... seen hundreds of them....
The crew was really friendly and the dolphins were nice. Only snacks and cold drinks were offered on the board. The wind was cold (April), so some warm clothes could be useful. I recommend the cruise only if you are not afraid of being seasick (the boat is relatively small)
Worst dolphin trip ever never saw one food awful rice potatoes cabbage anchored up for 3hrs absolute robbing company and I'm going to go out of my way to let people know horrendous
Beautiful boat trip out into the bay even if you don't see any sea animals. I'm a birder, so I was happy to see Cory's Shearwaters and other birds.
Very good trip , we saw a couple of turtles and a few pods of dolphins . Plenty of room on the boat and crew very good . Yes, there are some people who complained of sea sickness but surely you would know this before booking a boat trip , not the organisers' fault if you feel ropey . Would definitely recommend
The tour was really fun and we were thrilled to see both dolphins and a turtle. There were two negatives however with the first being no response when I contacted the company regarding parking. The second being that we were told to be at the dock at 10:30AM and as we arrived at 10:30 exactly, they were leaving and complained that we were late. Even with the non-response and almost missing the boat, the tour was worth the price and I would recommend it to anyone hoping to see marine life in the ocean.
Would have scored higher apart from we caught the ferry from Anfi which took us to Porto Rico where we transferred to another boat where we were all crammed in which distracted from the enjoyment. On a positive note did get to see the dolphins
Great staff on and off the boat! Unfortunately it was a very windy day at sea and 4 out of 9 of us got sea sick! We also didn’t see any whales or dolphins but nonetheless the staff were great and we got our free ticket valid for 12 months to come again!
We were lucky to see dolphins swimming around us, although no whales. Not entirely sure what I was expecting from it, but I thought it would have been more of an engaging activity. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the morning out and saw dolphins for the first time.
Good siting of large pod of dolphins.Trip out to sea a bit bumpy but ok on way back. Could have done with a bit more info on pod.
I’ve been on a few dolphin watch boat trips and this was the absolute best by a country mile. The crew were very friendly and approachable, and Silvana, our ‘hostess’ had a fantastic breadth of knowledge and taught us loads about the different types of dolphins, and our role in caring for the environment. Plus she did this Spanish, French and English! The mistake I’ve made previously was sitting on the top deck in the sunshine. You get great views from up there but if you want a better view, then sit downstairs where you’re closer to the water… We sat at the front of the boat, right on the bow. It was a choppy sea that day which made the boat rather unsteady - I loved it! I knew it was going to be cold so wore a jumper & I would definitely recommend that people do that - it’s the Atlantic Ocean and the breeze can be chilly, even when the temp on the beach is 23 degrees… We saw striped and bottle-nosed dolphins and they played in the sea around the boat for ages. The boat’s captain was brilliant - there was no hassling of the dolphins, we moved on if they moved on, and they were clearly enjoying themselves, showing off their swimming skills and their curiosity about us. And the best thing - they were only a metre away! It was BLOODY BRILLIANT!
Think carefully about getting on this boat if you don’t have a cast iron stomach and the waves are anything but gentle. The sea was choppy, no problem to start with, bit like being on a rollercoaster, holding on tight we were thumping over the waves. Then it got much worse - a huge wave soaked the whole deck and everyone on it. After that we were moved to the back of the boat, no mean feat given how much it was pitching, they gave us blankets but we were soaked and freezing cold. One of the passengers asked if we could turn back at this point as we continued to crash through the waves at high speed, but no…it took over an hour to get back to port, lots of sea sickness aboard. They offered tickets to return another day but you’d have to be mad to put yourself back in this situation. No whales or dolphins seen - of course this can’t be guaranteed, you take your chance. But what should have been guaranteed is an experience that didn’t leave you wishing you could get dry and warm and off the boat asap. We went out with a local scuba dive instructor the next day and he was shocked that we’d been taken far out to sea in those conditions
Great welcome and hosting Captain Lorenzo Easily located whales and dolphins to watch and follow encouraging to take pictures and commenting about sea life.
