We visited the farm earlier this year and decided to book the course for our next visit in October. We enjoyed every minute of the visit! This program was one of the highlights of our stay in Fuerteventura. Our hosts were lovely and we really enjoyed interacting with the four-legged residents. We took home our very first handmade cheeses which were of excellent quality :) Thank you very much for the enjoyable workshop!

Itinerary
Experience the authentic art of Majorero cheese making from start to finish on a traditional farm in Fuerteventura. From milking the famous Majorera goats — considered the best in the world for desert climates — to shaping and vacuum-packing your own cheese, this hands-on workshop lets you live the island’s most iconic tradition. On arrival, enjoy a welcome coffee while your host introduces the experience and the farm. You’ll then learn professional manual and machine milking techniques before moving on to the most exciting part: creating your own fresh cheese, step by step, just like a local cheesemaker. Midway through the activity, take a break with a delicious authentic Fuerteventura breakfast. Relax in the garden patio and enjoy a fresh cheese sandwich, a cheese board with Canarian mojos and homemade jams, plus your choice of drink — coffee, tea, local Tenerife wine, beer, soft drinks or water. Once your cheese has rested in the press, return to the production room to vacuum-pack and label your creation, taking home a unique, edible souvenir of your experience.

Amazing! So happy to have found such an authentic local experience. I love learning about a place through their food traditions, and this didnt disappoint! Beautiful cheese, happy goats, and a lovely family fun dairy.
We booked this last minute but was so glad we did, it was a real highlight of our holiday It was only our family of three on the tour (2 adults and 1 thirteen year old) so it was a very personalised workshop. Our guide, Elaine, was fantastic and very informative. We got to milk and feed the goats before turning the milk into cheese. This was then followed by a delicious breakfast which even our picky teen couldn't find fault with!! Overall a great experience and highly recommended.
We had a fantastic morning at la Casa del Queso! Elaine and the team (including the goats) were amazing and we had so much fun. One of the most enjoyable and hands on experiences we've ever done, and you get to leave with your own handmade cheese! Couldn't recommend this highly enough
We have visited the cheesemaking just couple of days ago. Unforgettable experience. We were greeted by Elaine who guided us through the day. She created very warm and relaxed atmosphere. We were able to visit all groups of goats 🐐 at the farm: expectant mothers and the goats who had recently had babies and (the highlight!!!) the baby goats themselves 😇. We were made a part of every process at the farm: milking goats, and yes we all had our chances to practice properly, by hands and using machine; we fed animals, we were able to pet them, spend plenty of time with them. We got to see cheesemaking process and had wonderful breakfast in between. The promise was that we will spend 2,5 hours, but in fact we had almost 4 hours and absolutely did not feel rushed. All necessary clothing protection was provided, like shoes cover and aprons, however i would recommend to wear something you dont mind washing. The goat babies are soo cute and they can get all over you, which was the best part of visit for us, but they can be a bit messy 🙃. Overall it we had the most amazing time and would highly recommend to everyone.
Fabulous morning! Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking to experience an authentic slice of life on Fuerteventura. Elaine is a great guide and made it all so easy. Everyone we met was so proud of the goats and the farm and enthusiastic about showing us what to do (and very patient!).
Hi . Called them up and asked is it possible they could arrange a pick up at the hotel . Never turned up waited an hour . Called the number they gave me to contact them nobody answered the call ( cost was not cheep ) the hotel then tried to help me . For two months they said they have returned the money to my bank ? Well it’s still not arrived . Would I recommend this ? Nope I had the day trip also which Jane Macdonald did in a UK programme driver came to the hotel . Collected other people then took me ok after 55 mins wait . Don’t worry the trip you are home by 3.30 the driver could not speak English very good and really could not be bothered . Preferred to do the jeeps ? That’s the 12 hour trip ? Well not sure where they got that from
This a great morning doing something different, it's much more fun and informative than the coach tours tha turn up and look at the shop.its a chance to meet the owners and understand what they do while having a laugh. A unique morning away from the usual crowds, total worth getting up early for, and not far from town.
What a great hands-on way to spend a morning in Fuerteventura! We milked (by machine and hand) the goats, gave them their feed (including bottle feeding two day old kids) . We then made cheese in the traditional manner which was left to firm up while we finished the farm chores and was then vacuum packed to take home. Breakfast of bread, cheese (obviously!) and jams rounded off the morning. Thanks to the fantastic trilingual Elaine for showing us round - something I’ll always remember and highly recommend. The fresh milk was absolutely delicious!!
Absolutely amazing!!!! Well worth the money. Everyone was so lovely. Elaine the guide was amazing couldn't ask for anyone better. Held the babies from 3 days old. Went into the pens with all the different ages of goats and fed them all. Cheese making again was amazing. Drank milk straight from the goat (well in a cup first ). Very informative and interesting would highly recommend 👌.
5 out of 5 for this. We really enjoyed this visit with everyone there being so friendly and helpful the goats were so friendly too and finished off with being able to bring home the cheese we made! I would do this experience again.
Loved this experience, learning about the history, care and management of the goats. Protective gear was provided and we started with the milking, putting treats into the bowls for each goat and then having a go milking by hand and machine - tasting the traditional gofio with milk straight from the goat (tastes like Horlicks!) Then out to feed and put hay/straw out for the different herds. The family who owns the farm, the translator, the goats and the gorgeous little Wolfy dog are all incredibly friendly - I could have spent all day out there! It wasn't long before the milk we had just squeezed out of the goats was ready for us to do some more squeezing with - this time into cheese moulds. While they were settling with added weight on we went for a sit down and taste of some of the cheeses and accompaniments they sell in the shop - finally it's time to get the cheese we made packaged and labelled and ready to take home to either eat fresh or cure a little longer.
We had an amazing time making cheese (and more) on this trip. Started with greetings in the group and was taken into the milking room where we had the chance to milk the goats and try the milk, was also given the chance to try a local drink gofu, which was very tasty! we then went out to feed the goats, and they were very friendly and approachable, even the local herding dogs were friendly enough. The chance to hold the baby goats (kids) after that was amazing as well. From there we went into the cheese making room, where we were instructed clearly on how to make the cheese in the traditional way. I must say I'm not a fan of regular goats cheese but this cheese was fantastic. We were given 1kg that we had made to take away with us. Would highly recommend this as one of the best experiences we had on our trip to Fuerteventura. It's also worth noting that there were no issues with taking it onto the plane on the way home, even on hand luggage (this was one of our worries!).
Absolutely brilliant experience. It’s fascinating being involved with the full process from milking the goats to making the cheese. Respect to those animals and the people who work with them. Definitely worth doing!
Really really good fun. We made cheese, fed the goats, cuddled a baby goat then ate breakfast! Our guide Elaine was just amazing, super friendly and very informative. Highly recommend this tour.
Our guide Elaine was just brilliant. Informative and super friendly. My husband and I had a great time making cheese and feeding goats. Really great fun. Highly recommend.
It’s been absolutely wonderful we highly recommend it. We often do workshops like this on holiday to learn about traditions and get to know local life. This workshop was outstanding, the people running it were welcoming and very friendly, it was super informative (the English explanation was superb). Overall it was entertaining and hands on (in a very sanitary way) The goats have been extremely friendly and our daughter (4 years) would not stop patting and feeding them. The breakfast at the end was delicious and you get to take your own made cheese home too! What’s not to like!
It was a great experience! We had a lot of fun and learned a lot. A super nice team on site who accompanied the morning great. A clear recommendation!
It was a wonderful experience ! Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this. Our involvement in feeding, milking... and cuddling with the goats will always find a top spot in our memories.
I did this today with my son. We had a really good time. Quality time met ons 2. An experience to remember. I hope to be able to do this again with him next year. 😍
Wow! Thanks to Elaine, the whole team and the lovely goats for a great morning! We fed the goats, milked them by hand, connected them to the milking machine and gave the kids the bottle. The whole thing was rounded off by interesting explanations and we were also able to ask many questions. We were also allowed to shape our fresh goat cheese and take it home. Very clear recommendation for all who not only want to watch, but also want to get involved! A very special and beautiful experience.
To start with, we had a delicious Cortado to wake us up. Then we tried on the clothes and got dressed for work. We started by driving the goats into the milking room. Now it was time to milk them, everyone was given instructions on how to do it. First by hand and then with a machine. When the milking was finished, the milk was mixed with rennet, which gave us time to muck out the stable, feed them, pet them and give the kids a bottle. When we had finished working in the stable, we went to the cheese dairy. Everyone learned the activities needed to make goat cheese. At the end, everyone got their cheese. The whole thing was accompanied by breakfast, food and drink. For us, it was a great experience that we still talk about today. A great experience.
It started at 9 a.m. We were a group of 7 people. The tour was in English and German and really great! First we brought the goats in together, learned to milk them by hand and with aids, brought them out together and looked after them ... Just a hearty and really original and great experience. Then we created our own goat cheese, catered for the baby goats and had breakfast together. Everything extremely nice and a great experience. Highly recommended.
