We went as a family of 5. Two adults,3 children aged 14, 6 and 2. Short walk to the camels from where the taxi dropped us off. It was a bit stoney/ bumpy for the buggy. Arrived around 9.30 and there was already a queue, however this was well managed and we stood there for about 20 mins watching the other tour take off. Our tickets were then scanned and we were directed to a waiting area with toilets and vending machines selling ice cream and drinks. Here we waited another 20 mins or so. We were told we could leave the buggy by the front desk. When it was our turn for the tour we were matched with a camel depending on size and if we had children. By this point my 2 year old was screaming and my 6 year old was starting to panic. Staff were amazing with them both, reassuring them and making them feel safe. The tour was great, lasted about 30 minutes and throughout the staff were chatty, taking photos of us using our phones and trying their best to make my children laugh, even playing nursery rhymes on their phone 🥹 they both soon relaxed and started to enjoy the tour. Afterwards we were brought back to the start point and there was an option to purchase small camel toys for €7. We enjoyed this family activity, despite the rocky start with two crying children. I would recommend the tour, staff we lovely and the camels looked well cared for

Itinerary
One of the most enjoyable things to do in Gran Canaria is to take a camel ride. An excursion through the magical Maspalomas Dunes will transport your imagination to incredible adventures as if you were in the Sahara Desert. The camel ride, which lasts about thirty minutes, is led by experienced Saharan guides who strive to ensure you have the best time. This popular tourist attraction was declared Cultural Heritage of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in 2004. If riding camels is something you have on your bucket list, this is the ideal place. THE CAMEL STATION IS OPEN FROM 09:00 AM TO 14:30 HRS. HOWEVER, WE RECOMMEND YOU GO BEFORE 11:00 AM TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIDE.

It's first come first serve. Rides aren't available after 11:30. Wonderful experience! Would highly recommend.
We booked a Camel ride over another operator but it was sadly cancelled as apparently they overbooked the slots. All fine, so we decided to go directly to the location, and try to book for another day. What an experience, the route is a bit sketchy, but we got there, and as we arrived we talked to the gentleman on the reception and we were treated in a very disrespectful way, that quickly made us lose all the will to give any money to this tour. Sad, as I have read that normally they are very attentive and specially caring with the animals.
We took the ride with my partner and enjoyed it a lot. This was the first time to ride on a camel back and it was amazing. Santiago (our camel) along with the staff delivered an exceptional experience. We also have a photo with him and will never forget this.
It was something my son and I thought we would never do it will was great , they rest them well and treat them good while you are walking with them Worth getting there as soon as it opens at 9am as it soon got busy and I rebooked our tickets as it was cheaper well worth it
Absolutely incredible experience. The camels were lovely and the handlers were really kind, taking photos for you. The camels are really well cared for. Amazing thing to do with the family. I Absolutely loved it!
Fantastic little trip. We got there early so waited only 10 minutes. People moaning about wait times … spend your time taking your pictures with the camels it was fun. We pre booked online and was easy. The camel ride was 30 minutes and it flew past. Well worth the money
Be aware you only can book online and you get no time, it is first come, first served so for us, that meant wasting money in a taxi ride out there to find out they are sold out, then we have to go back another day and arrive at 9 am to ensure we can take the ride.
Beautiful experience.. well organised. Very friendly staff, camels are well trained… very pleased with it.
The experience was very fun and surprisingly longer than I expected. When you check in you’re entered into the queue so it is a first come first serve with no appointments so I’d suggest planning accordingly if you have other plans. Remember these are animals so don’t be surprised that there will be a barn smell and some poop to avoid so wear sensible shoes!
The camel ride experience was definitely one for the books! The camels were so sweet and the ride is not scary. The guides are always practicing safety.
There was a tourist guide close to the place so you won't miss the place. Camels are kinda friendly. None spit or get rampage. People very friendly and helpful.
It was a beautiful day, as we made our way to the camel rides. Signage could have been a bit better to let us know how far the walk was from where our bus let us off. We were delighted to find out that it was only a few minutes walk. The camels appeared to be well cared for and all had names. The seats were very secure and the handlers were very good at adding extra weight to balance out the riders. Our ride was to be 30 minutes, but it was actually longer, which was a pleasant surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A highlight of my trip on Grand Canary Island.
My wife said it was nice so I will take her word for it. I am too fat so I didn't join. I did get to wait in shades.
Super fun, definitely worth it. It was a great experience. Well organized, easy to book tickets. Didn’t have to wait long as we were early at the meeting place, around 9:30 in the morning.
We were very sorry the camels were muzzled and had to carry 2 people at once on chairs. Walking around all day to give people rides.... Poor animals. This feels like animal labour. I feel very guilty to have booked this excursion. Never again.
I arrived at 10am and then was assigned a a lot for 1pm! It would be good to know that you basically enter a queue !! Anyway if you book be there straight for 9am otherwise you wait forever. The good bit is that a beach is nearby and so the wait turned into a spontaneous trip to the dunes , beach and lunch! The camel ride itself was def average ! Super hot ( north of 30 degrees ) so take water ! Wouldn’t book again but was fun for the kids for sure
It’s was an amazing experience from start to end. Since the tour is in high demand and there are only limited number of camels, upon arrival we were told that we will get on a tour leaving hour and a half later (bookings are on first come first serve basis on the day) and that allowed us to explore the surrounding area. Tour departed right on time and lasted 35 mins through the sand dunes of Maspalomas. On a sunny day (25C) riding a camel through desert sand was a unique experience for us. The guide took 2 photos with the camel (while on it) which were available to buy for €5/each at the end. Altogether a great experience and we have got lasting memories.
Would have been nice for the tour guides to talk about the camels and the area. Would not do again..
Found tickets on here when other sites had sold out. Very easy to book and the information given was easy to follow. Tickets were valid between 9-11am. We turned up at 8.45 and had to wait until 10am for our ride. If we’d been much later then our wait would have been much longer so I would advise to turn up early. Staff were friendly and camels looked in good condition. The ride was slow - about 25 mins in total but was a great experience and my daughters enjoyed it.
A beautiful experience with these wonderful camels, they are fantastic animals... an experience to absolutely have.
Nice experience and good service
We booked the camel safari via getyourguidedeze. It was a very nice experience. You are walking with 12 camels in a row on a beautiful walk through the stunning dunes. At the beginning of the route, a photo is taken that you can buy for 5 euros. Nice memory! But during the ride, one of the besieged also took photos of you with your own smartphone. Nice service. In terms of clothing, it is not necessary to wear long pants or closed shoes. You are sitting on a small stool with your feet on a plank and a rope for safety. The rising and falling with the dream intestine is hilarious, not scary at all. We were there at 9:30 and were next at 11:10. But at 10:30 they needed 2 light people and we were allowed to go. The camel safari is at the beginning of the dunes. Since we are staying at the Costa Meloneras resort on the boulevard and by the dunes, we asked AI if we could also walk through the dunes to get there. AI said that was possible, it was a nice walk and lasted much shorter than by road. You had to turn left after the lagoon and then keep going straight. It was indeed a nice walk and a bit shorter. But on the way back, when we came out of the dunes, we were immediately stopped by 2 officers on motorcycles. It was strictly forbidden to walk through the protected nature area. We didn't know that. They registered our IDs and came away with a warning. Luckily, because we could also have received a fine of 150 to 600 euros. And then it was an expensive camel safari. In short, it was a great experience but the journey there is what really matters.
Good experience, nice ride in the dunes, the dromedaries seem to be well cared for. The guides are friendly. My only complaint is that the reservation doesn't have a fixed time, and when you get there you don't have a spot for up to 2 hours later, as happened to us. I would prefer to be able to reserve the time before going. I recommend going early. Great experience, lovely ride through the dunes. The dromedaries seem to be healthy and well cared for. The guides are friendly. My only problem is that you can’t reserve a fixed time on the web and when you get there you have to wait a long time (2 hours for us).
Very beautiful walk, make sure to arrive first around 8:15 AM to do the first walk because afterwards there's a line and in the heat it's not great.
I booked directly on site and this is actually 3 € cheaper than with the providers. The camels, which are dromedare, look well maintained and have been given regular breaks. I do it for a total of 30 minutes and attention was paid to the weight of the participants. I was there with two children and it was really great to take care of us, repeatedly going around that the big one, who was 5 years old and sat alone on one side, also felt safe. She was very proud that she could do it on her own. I felt that both the people were courteous and nice, and the animals were treated well. Don’t upset it, but if you don’t want to run in heat, or like in my case has a child with jet lag, really a great alternative. You can't see the heart of the dunes, so a star deduction, but I think that would just be too far from the track. Definitely well invested €15.
We booked tickets the day before. When we arrived the next day, we were assigned a number in the queue. We arrived a little over 11 a.m. and had to wait about 1.5 hours before it became our turn. Recommend therefore to be out in good time. Nice experience for the whole family at a good price (we were two adults and a child of 7 years old). For animal welfare, they had a maximum weight limit for all who were to sit on the camels. All camels had names, and it seemed that those who leased the camels knew them well.
We did it because our daughter wanted to ride a camel and although she was a little scary at first, she ended up enjoying the experience a lot. Older people I think we enjoy even more hehehe.
Nice when we never did, to discover, the price is very affordable for this friendly walk.
It has been a very nice experience, with beautiful landscapes and dunes, very meek camels and nice staff......
Very relaxing and pleasant activity. Wear comfortable clothes and especially cap, the sun is strong despite the breeze.
Our TUI guide has given us the tip to take bathing suits with us and I want to pass this tip on. We were there about 10.15 am and then after a shorter queue the time is 1.40 pm ! Got it. You can do some shopping and bathing, it was still unpleasantly hot. Even if it's nice. You can also eat or drink to pass the time. The ride itself is quite nice, exciting experience on the camel. The half hour was observed, was rather a few minutes longer. Very exciting with the camels.
The experience was generally positive, only two notes somewhat negative to mention, one was too long a wait, in my opinion for a somewhat flawed organization and the second that people who in line were in positions behind ours enjoyed the experience earlier than we, ie were allowed to sneak in.But the walk and treatment of the employees wonderful.
Forse l’esperienza è stata troppo breve. Ma molto simpatica.
The boys who accompany during the walk lovely! The very well-kept camels, they treat them very well, they call them by name. I fell in love with the experience 🐪🐪🩷
Very nice activity! Something a little different from usual! Even our two-year-old was very happy! The guys and staff all very nice!
Ninguno. No cumplió ninguna expectativa.
Nice experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Too bad about the ride. Short and turns in circles. I hoped I could at least see the ocean.
My 4-year-old son loved the walk, I really enjoyed the experience. It is suitable for families with young children. I recommend it
