We decided to book a lunch and mojo workshop for something a bit different, and really enjoyed it. This was our third visit here,so it was a change to make something, and it tasted very good. We were given a tour first by kaleb who was a great guide, very knowledgeable, his English was excellent. We were then taken through to the kitchen where chef Eduardo demonstrated how to make the red and Green dip Mojo. It was really good, just ourselves and another couple and again the guide explained things in English. We then returned to our tables and made the sauces which we made use of with our lunch. We had pulled roast pork and traditional canary potatoes and probably the best crackling ever,so crispy.
The experience was well worth it. The vineyard tour was very informative. We had so much fun making our own mojo sauces after being shown how by the chef. The wine tasting was interspersed with our time making the mojo sauces. Definitely a must do if you have the time and a car to drive to the vineyard.
Really enjoyed a fabulous tour of the vineyard, and learning to make the red & green mojo’s we had been enjoying all holiday. Our chef Alessandro was a great teacher and we then enjoyed eating our creations. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful facility with old world charm and an amazing view. We drove to the location and the navigation system was a little off, but found it in time. Staff members were lovely.
We had a wonderful day at Bodegas Monje doing the vineyard tour, 4 wine and cheese pairings, and mojo making workshop. Our guide Caleb was very knowledgeable about viniculture and winemaking, and we learned a lot about the unique terroir and history of this winery. We found the wines to be fresh and delicious. This stop was one of the highlights of our trip.
We did the wine tour which was good but the part we enjoyed most was the wine tasting. We were served 5 lovely wines, good explanations about each. We ordered food to go with them, took our time and relaxed in the most beautiful setting. We then tried some other wines, because we could! No pressure to buy, lovely staff and the most lovely few hours.
The mojo making was fun. A better knife would have been better but I guess with the winedrinking they don't want to risk a whole finger
The Chef who showed us to make the Mojo was just great. He loves food and good ingredients and wants to share his knowledge. He was kind enough to seriously try and judge our first attempts to make our own Mojo. We will definitely keep doing those at home! We also appreciate that the more expensive wines were also open for trial-per-glass, not only the more common ones.
Amazing event with delicious food and wonderful talented Chefs! I will definitely be back for the wine and the food!
The demonstration of how to make the mojos by Chef Moises. He was terrific! Also the experience of making our own mojos. Also the winery tour. It was a terrific day. Only wish we could have kept the aprons as a remembrance.
Drove up from the south of the island just for this tour. The vineyard has dramatic scenery as you look out over the vineyard to sea. Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny you really get a feel for the family tradition that exists here. The tasting gave you great choice served with delicious snacks. Opportunity to buy wine on site but no pressure to buy. Well worth a visit.
Really lovely experience and our guide was lovely. The tour was fun and the experience of making Mojo is great! You get to take it home with you as well! We also ended up buying a lot of wine because they are really quality!
Our guide was very informative and friendly. The whole experience was great from start to finish. The views were stunning and the the journey through the cellar was very cool. We especially liked the final room which was very impressive. The making of the Mojo was a fun experience but as we learnt go easy on the salt. The staff were very friendly and the wine was of good quality.
Loved the experience! The wines are amazing, all of them, super fresh and delicious (and they are not stingy with pouring either), the workshop was very informative and engaging (I forgot the name of the chef, but she was a super sweet girl) and the food there is fantastic. I recommend arriving early and try one of their brunch offerings as well, it was soooo tasty! Especially the slow roasted pork, just divine! Don’t leave without some cactus jam to go as well. The tour host, Caleb, was super nice, very knowledgeable, and very funny. 10/10 recommending this!
This was a great tour of the winery, including the cellars and seeing the winemaking process. Then we tasted 3 wines (white, rose, and red) while working on our Mojo sauces during the workshop. We were given the recipe to take home as well. It's a beautiful location and the staff was very kind and welcoming.
A very friendly and informative trip. This was a most memorable experience. First we had a tour of the winery, with the charming Caleb, which was worth visiting in itself and then had a mojos making workshop. We were shown by their very friendly chef, Andres, how it was done professionally and then let loose ourselves. All great fun and the flavour of hand made mojos bears little resemblance to the comparatively bland versions you get in jars. We ate it all on site along with various local delicacies and a couple of glasses of wine.
Wonderful experience! We had a tour at the winery facilities and after that a mojo sauses workshop and wine tasting of 3 different types of local wine
The tour could have been more specific on the Monje wines rather than about winemaking in general. Showing how the wine is bottled should not be part of the tour. The Mojo workshop was a great experience, we enjoyed very much being taught by the charming Andrea, whose passion for cooking is obvious, we sipped some nice wines, and had a lot of laughs. We made our own mojo after that, at a restaurant table near the kitchen, which was too small for all the chopping involved. The Monje Winery could improve on those little details, but the workshop was a very enjoyable experience. The winery also has a beautiful view from its terrasse.
This was a great day at the winery. The staff were very kind, friendly and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed learning about the history of the winery on the island and the wine making process. For the wine tasting we enjoyed taking our time tasting their white, rose and red. The mojo making workshop was fantastic…we were able to watch the chef prepare rojo and verde mojo, and then were able to make our own batch hands on, and enjoy with some freshly cooked potatoes.
Great experience!! The chef Gaspard was so nice! We really like the tour and the experience there. We’ll do dit again.
This Winery is fabulous! The tour and mojo sauce workshop were fantastic, the chef was fabulous with his demonstration and took the time to do this in two languages. The setting is absolutely fabulous, we managed to waste a few hours after just soaking in the surroundings and enjoying the wines they have to offer. Would absolutely recommend to everyone.
The experience was really good,we arrived and were warmly greeted by Carolina, and pleasantly surprised that there was just the two of us for the wine tasting. The presentation was lovely,we chose to sit outside to enjoy the views in the sunshine. We were given 4 different wines to taste, along with different cheeses, all delicious, generally we are not white wine drinkers, but we’re so impressed we bought some to enjoy at home. It was really interesting finding out about the vines and the looking around the cellars, such a beautiful place.
So we did the tour and the vineyard tour. Our guide was Nuella and she was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and her English was great (worked for us as our Spanish is limited to asking for drinks and the bill!) The venue is lovely but the knowledge and the tour really made it for us. Got some lovely reds and when paired with the cheeses on offer , pure magic. It was very laid back in the restaurant area and we did eat here. Just a word to the wise for vegetarians, the chick peas come with pork - that wasn’t mentioned on the menu so just watch I it for the one. I had the cheese board and hubby has the Parma ham and he loved it. For beer lovers they do an American Pale Ale. We didn’t get to buy any though sadly (limited batches) but you can get it on draft at the place (we were too full on the wine) Wine portions were excellent. Would I go back … hell yes.
Starting from Noelia, the wine tasting guide, to the wines, the food, the scenery, a d the. Taking their winery tour a must. Highly recommend this experience!
Lovely experience. Gaspar the chef was very friendly and talked us through making the mojo and all the traditions behind it. The food was lovely and the wine was delicious!
Loved the mojo sauce workshop! The chef was very thorough and took his time explaining how to make everything.
The wine tour was very informative with lots of information about the history of wine making in the Canaries and the vineyard itself. The mojo sauce workshop was superb. The chef was very knowledgeable and carefully showed how to make our own sauces. Again there was lots of information about the history and development of the sauce on the island. The sauces were so delicious and nothing like the stuff we had bought in the supermarket. We followed this with an amazing lunch and wine tasting. It was a fascinating day, all the staff friendly and helpful, excellent value for money and definitely worth a visit.
During our stay in Tenerife, we can say that this was our most fun trip! We had an amazing day. At first we had a tour through the whole building with detailed information about different sorts of wine and background stories. Afterwards, we had a whole workshop on making Mojo, which was the best part as we had been included into "la familia". Both guides for both parts were really kind and spoke very good English. All in all, an unforgettable and recommended experience. We had a blast!
We had both the tour and the mojo making experience with wine tasting and lunch. Whilst the wine 'tour' was a bit dull, it was still nice to experience how the winery goes about its function. What made it was our Mojo making experience. Our host whilst apologising did not speak good English - Spoke very good English and was passionate about what he was teaching which made the experience very enjoyable. Following that we had an amazing slow roasted pulled pork lunch, with canary potatoes and salad + our own mojo which was to die for! The 3 taster wines where also very nice. *The only sad thing is that there was no plastic tubs to be able to keep our mojo sauces, so assumed this went to waste after. Please if the venue reads this, provide tuns for people to keep the mojo 👍
Not a good experience as we waited 30 minutes between the glaseres of wine. They complained that there was to many people, even though we had prebooked. I also got sick after what we believe must been one of the cheeses..
we had a tour of the bodega with a tasting of 3 wines with 3 canapé. Tour was nice but lady was not speaking very clear English so you really should listen well to understand everything. Nice young wines tasted.
Bodegas Monje is an ideal place to get a sense of the development of vineyards in Tenerife. it was established originally in the 18th century and because it avoided phylloxera, the bug that destroyed the European wine industry in the 19th century, some of its vines are original and over 200 years old. The tour is well organised and the guide managed a bilingual group well. We explored the wine making process and also the history of the place as it developed over the centuries. It’s production is mainly red wine based on native grapes such as Listan. We elected to try only four wines with local cheeses at the end of the tour because we were also having lunch in their excellent restaurant which has great views over the vineyard and the bay and has a very good local menu of traditional dishes. If you want to experience a typical winery with history and excellent wine and food this is a good place to visit and it just off the main highway and accessible from all parts of the island
Wow this is quite a location for a wine tour! We went on an excellent tour of the winery led by a super knowledgeable guide. During the tasting session, we tried 1 white and 3 red wines all paired with cheeses from different Canary islands while overlooking the vineyards and distant ocean. Felipe the owner is a really cool chap, and his team were all super friendly and professional. We were invited to do a mojo workshop and due to other commitments we weren’t able to stay, but I’d be so delighted to go back and try it out—it looked like great fun to prepare mojo and taste their delicious wines at the same time. What I found most enticing is that if you sign up to be a part of the wine club, they offer to store your precious wines in their cellar and come back whenever you wish to enjoy them. There was also a pop up studio with an artist who was tinting clothes using leftover bits from the winery, and it was great to see that the owners care about sustainability, supporting other entrepreneurs, and using a dash of creativity in their operation. I would not hesitate to recommend a visit to Bodegas Monje, and I can’t wait to go back!
What a terrific day out! The tour was very informative and would have been worth going just for that, but then the workshop was brilliant. The chef showing us how to make his grandmother’s recipe for mojo was both charming and funny as well as skilled. He made the experience extremely memorable. Finally, the wines are outstanding and tasting them along with the mojo was a genuinely new experience. We shall be back with friends!
Lovely visit with a charming guide who took the time to explain everything in English and Spanish. The mojo sauce workshop was entertaining, and we were able to make it to integrate everything.
Very nice winery, top food and the view a dream! The Mojo course including wine tour is highly recommended. During preparation there are 3 wines and even small snacks.
Fascinating wine growing and as a highlight a creative, enjoyable and unforgettable Mojo workshop!
We booked the wine tasting followed by a mojo workshop, first a chef showed us the production and then we were allowed to knives ourselves... which was a lot of fun, the delicious appetizers and the matching wines rounded off the experience!!!
Super nice and interesting visit! The sommelier's explanations were very clear and understandable with very good English! The wine tasting with an island cheese pairing was great too. I recommend!
Very good Attention by one of the girls in the restaurant (the one with glasses). Value for money unbeatable. It's a safe bet not to disappoint. Highly recommended.
Nette Führung netter Workshop Alle sehr freundlich...schöne Weine zur Verkostung. Gepflegtes Weingut
To begin with, a winery located in a unique enclave. Some incredible views. The attention, both from the store and restaurant staff, is 10. The guided tour is a spectacle, they introduce you to the fabulous world of wine culture. The attention in the restaurant is unparalleled, the service is always attentive to any smallest detail. The wine&sex experience is unique in the entire Spanish territory, having the ability to mix wine, gastronomy and give it an erotic atmosphere is unique, an experience that I will never be able to forget. There can only be words and, to be more honest, there is no qualifying adjective to describe this place, simply bravo for the work that the BODEGAS MONJE team does every day. BRAVO TO THEM!!!
Great experience! I advise you to book it “complete”, that is with the kitchen of modjos after the visit of the estate 😉 Very informative visit even if it is not always easy to understand English at the Spanish speed 😅 but we understand! And the finish is great: cooking class with the chef, then realization by yourself accompanied by several glasses of wine of their grape varieties, it was great! And even if the activity provides 1 hour (the time of the visit) we stayed in total almost 2h30! All this with the smile of our guests, thank you for this beautiful moment in your company 🙏🙏🙏
La experiencia completa ha sido genial. El personal ha sido súper súper agradable! Tanto la explicación de las bodegas, como de los vinos y luego la cata de vinos con taller de mojo por parte Ángel. Muchas gracias por todo a todxs!
Very fine!!! Order without a card - on recommendation. It was delicious and cozy from our coffee break became a feast!
We had a private tour of the vineyard, as no one else was registered at the time we booked. Our guide was very kind, funny and passionate. She was very interesting to listen to and knew the topics very well. We learned a lot and this was our favorite of our visit. We then had dinner at the vineyard restaurant, but I must say that the Service was not great. The staff was quite cold and the Service was unpersonalized. We had the volcanic meal (5 courses with 5 different food and wine pairings) quite expensive and we were not impressed by the culinary experience and Restaurant Service. The 5 star rating is mostly for the guided tour that we highly recommend!
Lack of information, lack of details, lack of affection with the surroundings, lack of tact with the tourist, lack of everything, but of course as most are from outside they do not know.
Einfach alles, super freundliche und sehr nette Mitarbeiter! Der Saucen Workshop war ein Erlebnis wert! 🥳🥰
During the island tour we wanted to visit the BODEGAS MONJE we were very welcome to visit the cellar and its cellar A great moment commented by a passionate young woman who presented us with the history of this property from its creation to the present day that raises her wine and bottles it Beautiful rooms in the depths of the earth Different from Bordeaux wines but on tasting we found a lot of charm and personality Have a nice visit
