Beginners Scuba Diving Experience In Gran Canaria

Fantastic company, great team keeping you safe and making sure you have an amazing experience. The tour they take you on for the DSD is so vibrant with fish and other animals and fun to dive around.

Absolutely amazing. Had a little panic at beginning but staff were wonderful on the dive. Stayed with you every step of the way like guardian angels. Paid 90 euro, worth every bit, a special treat to myself. Would definitely go with Blue Water Diving again 💙 👌

Definitely not for beginners. It was very rushed, there was experienced divers with us and we felt that they were prioritised in using their time and we didnt get the time before the open water dive. There was no shallow water practice like it says in the description to get used to breathing or the equipment. We did the online info course and were straight out to open water. We didnt do the dive due to feeling unprepared and uninformed and were not reassured. The "information course" is just an app on your phone which didnt have anything really helpful to prepare us. It was wasted money.

Very friendly yet professional experience. Made a short term booking with my friend. Both never dived before. Still no stress from the guides at all. They made calm, clear and friendly instruction and it felt like they adjusted the trip to our level. The experience itself was was great. We felt well taken care and very safe. Also we could see various animals und took some great pictures. Will definetely go dive again.

I did my Dive master internship with Blue Water Diving and i loved every second of it!! I spend a month in and around the dive shop every day, helping out with setting up equipment, helping out clients and DIVING EVERY DAY! Honestly, I don't have a bad word to say about my experience; everything was well put together and well ran by Kate and the other instructors. All of the instructors were amazing in helping me achieve my divemaster certification, from tips and tricks for helping me underwater to giving me advice on the best places to eat in town they knew it all! I am so glad that I had this experience with Blue Water Diving and I cannot recommend them enough to anyone who is thinking of doing an internship with them! Thank you Kate!

Great experience! The crew was really nice and very helpful, we were scared at first because it was our first time but we easily got comfortable with them. They were really patient and made sure we were in a safe environment. Thank you for this beautiful experience and if I do come back over here I will definitely have another try at diving with these people. Definitely recommend!😊

This was one of our best experiences in Gran Canaria and returned again after two years. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. My partner did the full experience whilst I could only snorkel on the surface due to my nervousness. Nothing was too much trouble and I cannot thank them enough for supporting and helping me through out. My partner also enjoyed the whole experience.

BRILLIANT!!! From start to finish, what a FANTASTIC time my family and I had. Greeted by well presented well mannered and fully knowledgeable staff. Made the whole family from young to old feel at ease as soon as we stepped through the door. Our nerves soon melted away. From our chats to the serious stuff all the way from getting us kitted up and then what can we say about the dive..... it was because of the staff we felt so at ease! Would highly recommend this dive centre... felt like family by the time we left. Thank you so much guys.... See you next year ☺️

Now, this is something you should absolutely try if you have a chance. Not so much for the views and for pretty fish, but for the experience itself. Very bizarre, unusual, a bit challenging. I'm very grateful for the support and the guidance of the group too. Will do again!

This was really new to us and exciting! The instructors are really supportive and helped us getting the changing pressure in our ears right, and we got an experience we will never forget! We first came to blue water diving in May for snorkelling & we’re blown away with how comfortable we were made to feel. My 13 year old wanted to try scuba but it wasn’t for the rest of us but the assurance given in May gave us the confidence to come back in October for him to go on his own. Aileen was his instructor she took things at his pace was thorough & built his confidence in something new. Needless to say an open water course looks like the next step! Great experience with experienced friendly team

This was an amazing experience, with professional instructors, and another diver by your side the whole time to keep you safe. You start by doing a 10 test on the PADI website, it's the discover training and you can do in advance. You then go into the harbour, one by one with the instructor to get taught basic skills, and do these kneeling on the habour floor, getting used to being under water. The you go on a boat to the dive site, with your diver by your side, descend, swim around and then come back to the surface. We went 8m deep for just over 30 mins. We saw loads of fish, a sea annomi and the terrain on the sea floor. Thank you, I had an amazing time

Amazing beginners scuba diving experience. The instructor was very friendly, funny and patient both at the centre, when providing demonstration instructions, and during the trial dive for us getting used to the gear, breathing with the regulator and standard troubleshooting and solving it (e.g. water in your mask, regulator came off, etc). During the dive there was an instructor with each beginner diver at all times, which provides a great sense of security (very good for the most nervous divers), and the main instructor guided us through the route and to see various kinds of fish, octupus and star fish. I was excited for this experience and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommended and look forward to doing it again!

My boys (age 14) and I were looking for a professional but chilled dive trip. This is exactly what we got. The staff are amazing, patient and fun. We had dived before and wanted a relaxed day out but with staff knew their stuff. These guys are great, thanks. T and D had a blast x

I would just like to say what an experience. The team was fantastic. I panicked a couple of times. But was well looked after made to feel safe. Because of this I had the best experience I have every had. A massive thankyou to the team.

Myself and my daughter picked the Try Scuba Diving Course as complete beginners. My girlfriend opted for snorkelling. The course consists of three parts i) getting taught some basic instructions in the dive centre and getting kitted out with wetsuits and the SCUBA gear ii) doing a practice dive in the harbour across the road from the dive shop iii) going out on the boat to do the dive. We were given instructions before the dive in the office of the dive centre and got all our gear and kit fitted out there and put on which was all fine. We then went across the road to the harbour to practice the instructions which had been explained to us in the office. The practice consisted of putting our face in the water with mask on and breathing through the regulator followed by descending beneath the water to practice breathing there. I felt that this part of the process was a little rushed and I was not comfortable doing the practice dive in the harbour before going out in the boat to do the actual dive. I opted to do the snorkelling instead using all the scuba gear I had on as did my daughter. She held her breath going down on the practice dive as she did not know how to use the regulator. This was distressing for her and she did not want to go ahead with doing the dive because of this. I felt if we had a little more time in the harbour we all might have been able to do the dive as the instructors were professional and knowledgeable. The owner of the operation came back at the time we were leaving the office to do the practice dive in the harbour and berated the instructors for not having the practice dive already done with us and this may have resulted in the instructors spending less time than we needed in the harbour doing the practice dive in my opinion. After the practice session in the harbour we went out on the boat with to do the snorkelling. My girlfriend had never snorkelled before and did not know how to use the equipment as it was not explained to her so this was unsatisfactory for her as she had to go back in the boat. We got a total of 30 min snorkelling at a location very close to the dive shop - there were some fish but not a huge amount to see. On the plus side the instructors were very helpful and really nice to my own daughter and another young girl in the water who were both quite afraid at the start of the snorkelling. So overall a little disappointing as I did not do the dive but this was partly down to my own fear of going beneath the water which I was trying to get over, and a felt if we had more time in the harbour this might have been different. Also there was 30min snorkelling and no instruction on how to use the equipment to someone who had never snorkelled before so on this day for us it was not good value for money. To summarise, overall, the issue was not with the instructors but on this occasion I felt they were being rushed at a critical part of the process (the practice dive).

Disappointed in the way we were treated. Me and my husband went for a discovery scuba diving, but weren't able to breath under water and took us longer than the others to get used to it. The instructor was in a rush, shouting at me at one point because I did a mistake. We didn't do the scuba diving anymore because we weren't ready and we felt stressed. What surprised me is the attitude of the lady that was running the discovery scuba diving (Hellen, or something like that) from the moment we said we are not ready to dive, because sometimes is better to know your limits,she madebus feel unconditional, didn’t speak to us, avoiding us on the boat and when we got back from the boat, looking like we made her loose time, although we still paid for it One of her students (from Leeds)was nice and even we didn't do the dive spent time with us on the boat and made us feel relaxed and like that wasn't the end of the world. What I can say is that I don't recommend them for first time doing the scuba diving.

Had an amazing introduction to scuba diving with the team. They were very patient, friendly, and made me feel very comfortable! The site of the dive was interesting and close by - I think a really good place for a first dive. All up, a great experience, and one I would recommend to a solo traveller or a group!

Great experience, staff amazing and very Saftey conscious. If it’s your first time and your a little nervous then these guys will put you right at ease and take good car of you.

Slightly disappointing overall. There was little warmth or friendliness from most of the staff from the pick up driver to the diving instructor. The instructions were rushed and not enough time was spent getting used to breathing under the water. This part was quite stressful. The clarity of water was good and lots of beautiful fish. However having a camera shoved in your face constantly quickly became annoying - the photos cost E20 extra; some great - most not. Tufia is beautiful, apart from the carpark - no toilets! Really poor communication as to what was going on after the dive as another group was waiting, so left to own devices for over an hour without any initial explanation as to what was happening or when the return journey was expected. Initially not a problem as beautiful setting but annoying not having this explained. The 4 hour "diving experience" includes a lot of waiting around.

This was my second dive with these guys. We went by van to the dive site at the North of the island and geared up. My girlfriend went snorkeling along side the dive group. Eileen (probably the wrong spelling sorry!) was our dive master and overall instructor. She is a very talented diver, looks so comfortable in the water. We went into the water and everyone was assigned an experienced diver to shadow them. I can't for the life of me remember the man with me, tall and British! A real laid back guy, good craic. So we went down and I had an absolute nightmare with my mask not sealing and flooding constantly. It was quite stressing but my companion was very good and we resurfaced a few times to try fix it. Eileen noticed all of this and also got involved to fix the issue. Unfortunately it didn't rectify but Rosie saved the day. She was snorkeling with my girlfriend. She so very kindly swapped masks with me. It fixed it straight away and I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the dive. Felt very safe and in a controlled environment at all times. My air gauge was checked constantly and I was checked on all the time. Eileen, Rosie and my companion I want to thank you all so much and I wish you all the best in the future. Oh and Giles for getting us there and back safely. Highly highly recommend.

We came as first-timers to Blue Water Diving. The prelim communication was friendly and easy. On the spot we were met with a welcomming smile and lots of encouragement. The team was infrormative and very effective. The diving experience was amazing! A must do in Gran Canaria! Much recommended!

I’m super happy I decided to try diving with this team( Jiles, Ari, and Ailin) especially after the scare I had last summer ( got a cramp and almost drowned!). These guys were amazing - so patient and always keeping an eye on us during the trip. You’re definitely in good hands with them. A big shoutout to Jiles for being extra patient with me at the start and helping me chill out, so I could have this awesome experience. Seriously, if you’re thinking about it, just go for it. You won’t regret it!

I really enjoyed having the first diving class. For me - for the person who doesn't like being in the water and especially underwater - that was opening of myself and discovering an absolutely new world! The young and understandable instructors were patient with me and thanks to them I have outstepped my borders! Highly recommend this company to discover something new to you and in yourself! The hardest is to make the first step!

I went for my first time with them and they managed to work me through an anxiety attack and help me to still dive! I would 10/10 return!

Together with my partner Rene we had a great time experiencing diving for the first time! After booking Discovery diving, Kate reached us by WA and send us links and instructions what to do before. We did some theory before course that was interesting and easy. We met next day on the Anadores beach (meeting point) with the team instructor Eileen and students for master exam Corrine, Preston, Verina and Michelle. From the first moment team was so friendly. Diving under guidelines of Eileen was experience we will never forget! They are all you could wish for, patient, calm, knowledgeable and professional! Kudos to all from Rene and Jelena! :)

Terrible! The man running the scuba diving was very rude, angry, bad mannered, ignorant and wasted a lot of my money as I didn’t even get to dive! Other people in the group also said how angry he was and that he’d just forgotten about them! And left them to guess as to what to do!

Great for beginners. Although I was stressful before the dive and nice instructors helped me to calm down. They were very kind and very helpful. Great way to start diving.

Booked for myself and my 10 year old Daughter prior to our Holiday. Communication the day before was excellent and the location was easy to find and stunning. Kate made us feel welcome and the dive itself was fantastic. Great shared experience for Dad and Daughter memories.

We can totally recommend it!! Such an amazing experience! I was very nervous in the beginning, but after the briefing, sone exercises and the first minutes in the ocean, I was getting calm and comfortable. The underwater world was incredible!!!

We (family of 5, age 12 to 41) took an introductary dive from Amadores beach. The instruktors are very competent and we felt safe diving with them. We were in good hands all the time. The dive was a great experience with a lot of fish and clear water as we came out and passed the pier. We can highly recommend Blue Water Diving!! 💯🤙🏻

Eileen was a great instructor with lots of patience and easy organisation (we had to stop by a doctor). Both teachers helped with everything and eased us into the whole process. You learn the safety and breathing techniques in shallow water and are helped into the (heavy!) gear. Then you go diving in the bay area. Thank you for the experience :)

Everyone at the diving center was so friendly, responsive and welcoming! My partner and I booked the beginners scuba diving session for 20/06/23, but ran late as we missed the bus. Staff were understanding and communicative with us the entire time. We were given detailed training and medical advice when we got there. Staff checked all the equipment thoroughly and ensured everything was in place for our safety! When it was time to go into the water, I was nervous and scared as it was my first time scuba diving and I didn’t know what to expect; but staff were very nice and comforting, reassuring me that we wouldn’t go under water until I’m 100% ready, and can come out of water at any time! As it was my partner and my first time underwater, we were supervised by professionals the entire time which made me feel safe! It was amazing to see the genuine level of care and friendliness displayed by the staff during the whole dive! The whole trip was an incredible experience that I’d never forget, and I cannot thank and praise the team enough for their dedication, professionalism, organisation skills, support, fantastic service and friendliness that made my experience unforgettable! I would recommend BlueSea Diving Center to anyone who is interested, it’s definitely worth it!

We really enjoyed the experience and the staff. Everyone was friendly and patient and helped to calm any nerves on the way. The diving was great and we saw plenty of different types of fish, eels, crustaceans and even a few octopus! I'd highly recommend them to anyone considering it, it was the highlight of our holiday!

First time diving! Wow, amazing experience. I was pretty nervous at first, had to come up a few times, but Zaira was so patient with me :) within no time we were down 10 meters! Overal 10/10 beautiful. I’m hooked

I had never dived before. Before we got in the water we got instructions on how everything worked. First we practiced on a shallow platform before going into the actual sea. It was a great experience and I would definately do it again!
