3-hour Excursion To Puerto Colón Adeje To See Whales

We had a fantastic trip aboard Namada and it was easily one of the highlights of our holiday. The boat was clean and very well maintained, and the captain was friendly and knowledgeable. What we particularly appreciated was that he wasn't intrusive — he gave us interesting information when appropriate but also allowed everyone to relax, take in the scenery and just enjoy the experience without constantly talking to us. The boat takes a maximum of 11 guests and there were 9 people on our trip. We found this so much more enjoyable than being on one of the larger boats or catamarans. It felt relaxed, personal and never crowded. We didn't see any dolphins on our trip, but we saw plenty of pilot whales and had lots of opportunities to take photos and videos. We were also really impressed by how respectful the captain was towards the wildlife. He made sure we could get close enough to have a wonderful experience without chasing the whales or staying with one pod for too long and potentially disturbing them. It was the perfect balance between getting an amazing view of the whales and respecting them in their natural environment. A fantastic few hours and a perfect day out. We'd definitely recommend Namada, especially if you'd prefer a smaller and more relaxed whale-watching experience rather than one of the large tourist boats.

Great trip, great value for money and great guides. Smaller boat avoided the large groups that are off putting for families. Saw whales and had a great swim in a secluded bay.

Great experience and saw whales, flying fish and turtles,, was told on the day that it was uncertain as to whether we saw the creatures or not but being a great captain,, she managed to get to where they were and pointed them out to us,, on the way back we even saw flying fish,, an absolutely great experience

We booked a trip for 13:00 but it got cancelled in the morning on the day of. They offered us an alternative (trip on a sail boat) but we already planned things for the rest of our holiday. So their alternative was not an option for us. We asked to get our money back. Also, they did not apologize which to me felt a bit off. They labeled their alternative as an "upgrade". I personally don't think it was an upgrade.

Had a great 3 hours with Miguel and Jessica , saw whales , dolphins and flying fish. Really enjoyed their trip was everything we hoped. Would recommend Ocean blue and certainly with Miguel and Jessica if you can. 🙂

We throughly enjoyed our boat trip to see the dolphins and pilot whales. Our boat trip got changed a few days prior due to issues with one of the boats, but communication was prompt and accommodating. We ended up on a 3 hour tour on a sailing boat - we originally requested shade and this boat had ample shade for us. The captain and Micki were absolutely AMAZING! They were fabulous hosts. They bought the fun, warmth and knowledge. They truly made our trip! They made such an effort to spot sightings and we even got to see a turtle. The captain didn’t chase the animals, but made sure that everyone got to see them in their natural environment. Micki was a real life Moana - she had great knowledge of Tenerife and the surrounding environment. The boat wasn’t overcrowded and we had such a great time. But I can’t stress enough that the captain and Micki really made the trip. A huge thank you from us! X

Fantastic experience. The captain was very informative about everything when we took in the scenery and told us all about the animal habitat and animals. We were extremely fortunate to be close enough a whale blew water through its spout which sprayed us! Food and drinks offered and snorkel equipment provided when we stopped for a dip with the fishes. Treasured memories 🥰

Lovely experience, with lovely guides who gave us lots of interesting information about the island and the whales. The guides even took plastic they saw out of the ocean and said they help with this often which was lovely to see. We got to see loads of whales and even a turtle!! So worth the money and would 100% recommend

Fantastic trip. Small numbers, only 7 of us in total. Loads of room around the boat. Crew worked well together to find us pods of Pilot Whales and Dolphins. Very informative, drinks and sandwiches included plus free snorkel equipment to borrow at stop off.

Myself and friends had an amazing time on the private charter. The tour was brilliant, we were able to see pilot whales up close, and stopped for a chance to swim in the sea, but also time to just relax, which all 14 of us needed! Both Alex and Micki were so friendly, and the food / drink provided was perfect! Thanks for an amazing time!

What a fantastic tour. I would highly recommend it. We got to see pilot whales, dolphins and green turtles. From the start the crew were brilliant. I have mobility problems and I was worried about getting on and off thee boat I didn’t need to be. I was helped all the way. The team were so enthusiastic and I did wonder who was more excited at seeing the wildlife them or us. The grandchildren loved it even though at the swim stop one wouldn’t go in the sea and the other one screamed at the water being cold however their daddy made up for it swimming under the glass bottom to their delight. Thank you for your support, friendliness and knowledge. You weee brilliant

we rented ocean blue as a private charter for all 14 of us, at such a good rate too! definitely worth the money we paid - we sailed out with the fantastic 2 person crew who made us all feel very comfortable and kept us entertained throughout - put on some great snacks and let us have control of the music. we got to see a family of whales, which was an amazing site to see, then we stopped in a beautiful bay for around 40 minutes for food and swimming. We had a couple of people who got seasick but the crew handled this brilliantly. 100% would definitely recommend doing this when visiting Costa Adeje

Brilliant trip to see the Pilot Whales out at sea. Our Captain Alex & his assistant Micki were super informative & friendly. The 14 of us decided to go for the Charter option rather than the shared tour which I would recommend as it seemed good value for money, especially with the food, soft drinks, beers & wines included. There was plenty of space on the boat & once we had seen the whales a few friends felt seasick so Micki recommended we anchored close to the shore & had the option to have a swim in the sea. Snorkelling masks & swimming floats were also available to use. Would definitely recommend.

Wow,...... just wow. Amazing, fantastic, brilliant, bucket list memory. What a wonderful way you spend a morning,... sailing West from Tenerife towards La Gomera to search for whales and dolphins. We were lucky and found a pod of seven Pilot whales and then a short time later a dozen dolphins. Such amazing and peaceful creatures. Huge thanks to Captain Kevin of the Nomad Bavaria from taking us sailing and an unforgettable experience.

We had our boat trip out to see the Pilot whales this afternoon with the boat operator ‘Ocean Blue’ who we booked up through Vicki Farquharson. Wow, what a lovely way to spend 3 hours. The boat is a lovely size, very stable in the water, and there were just 13 persons on board, including the crew of two, who were both very friendly and informative, explaining about the whales, their habitat, and also the volcanic geology of the surrounding islands and the ocean floor, which was fascinating to listen to. Due to the low numbers on board the boat, the experience was a very personal one, and this really was something of a bonus! Within 30 minutes of leaving port, the crew had located a lone male Pilot whale for us, he was apparently sleeping on the surface, probably resting after feeding his family. The boat came to within a few metres of the whale, the skipper switched off the engines, and allowed the boat to drift silently along with the whale for a few minutes while we watched and took photos. As the whale drifted away, the skipper started up the engines again and set off in search of more whales. Within 10 minutes we were again sitting in silence with the engines switched off looking at a family of Pilot whales, including at least two calves. Absolutely fascinating to see! Once we had drifted away from the whales again, the engines were fired back up and we headed back towards the coastline and moored up in ‘Playa De Los Moteros’ which is a lovely bay, where we could view the historic lava flows, and swim from the boat using snorkel equipment supplied from the boat. There were lots of fish to see swimming around there with us too! After our swim, we climbed back aboard and had lunch, supplied by the crew, which was a nice cheese and ham salad crusty roll, with a choice of a canned drink. After lunch we set off along the coastline, with a guided tour of the sights and landmarks on our way back to port. If you’re looking for a brilliant boat trip, I would highly recommend this one, Ocean Blue!👌👍🐳

We were looking for a boat trip to spot dolphins. There are plenty of boats to be found, but most of them are very full of people. The Ocean Blue Tenerife is an excellent choice if you want to be on a boat with a small group (max 10). There were 6 of us and 2 other people. We received a good explanation about the dolphins and the place where they live. We were able to see them up close. We ate and drank and swam in a bay. It was a Beautiful day!

Fabulous experience. Very friendly and knowledgeable captain. Saw lots of whales and amazing views of Southern Tenerife on the return journey. We all loved every relaxing minute.

Good experience but was sold a lot more than we got. We was told it was an all inclusive food & drink experience & that it was 3 hours long. We got on the boat and wasn’t even told how the day would go or the charters name. We had to ask for our first drink 20 minutes in, which the man seemed annoyed at us for even asking but then finally he got us them. We then stopped to view whales which was incredible & amazing to see and the only decent part of the trip! He then took us to the shallower water for us to jump in, which he had to ask for snorkel equipment? Which we was told part of the trip. When getting out of the water he got out a basket of tin foiled sandwiches which were okay but that and a few crisps was all that was offered. No more drinks were offered despite being told it’s all inclusive. Overall average experience but not worth the money & a very small boat for 12 people.

Fantastic from start to finish. I was dubious about going because out of the 4 of us I can't swim so thought I'd get seasick. How wrong was I! My partner got the sealegs but felt better after the swim in the ocean as recommended by the captain. We saw pilot whales in their natural habitat and took everyone breath away. There was no more than 12 people aboard. We anchored down in a small cove for roughly 1/2 hour for sandwiches, beers & a swim. Fed the fish (and the birds hahaha) honestly had the best time. Highlight of my trip!! Thoroughly recommend this company. With top thanks to Captain Alex xx

A great boat trip for all the family. We were lucky enough to see pilot whales up close, and numerous dolphins. Chris and Micki looked after us really well; they were friendly, great with the kids, helpful and informative on the marine wildlife. We had an enjoyable swim stop, followed by snacks & drinks. A sensible price, compared to some other boat trips we looked at and I’d highly recommend this as an excursion if you are in the area.

We are a family in of 6, I can not thank our tour guides enough. We got to see dolphins & whales, plus we stopped in a bay to snorkel & have a snack. My children’s faces (13 years, 17 years, 18 years & 20 years) were priceless. They were so welcoming & very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this tour guide.

A great experience, hosts were excellent and seeing the whales up close was unreal. Kids loved it and snorkelling with fish was brilliant also. Will defo rebook when next in Tenerife

Do not get on this boat if you easily get seasick! Due to the strong waves I was continuously throwing up, which kind of ruined the experience for me. On the positive, we did see pilotwhales up close und they seemed to be unbothered by our visit due to knowing the boat and the crew. The crew did a wonderful job tending to me, they did everything they could to make the journey bearable and somewhat enjoyable for me.

Our boat experience was the highlight of our trip to Tenerife! We booked this excursion in advance for a hen do, and it exceeded all expectations. Our hosts, Maxine and Chris (we hope we got their names right!), made the entire journey even more enjoyable with their infectious joy, energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm. We were thrilled to see whales and dolphins up close, and swimming in a beautiful bay with snorkels was an unforgettable experience. To top it all off, we enjoyed a delightful lunch with champagne on board. Everything was perfect, and we couldn't fault a single thing. Thank you for an incredible and memorable experience!

We had a very nice trip with very nice guides (Alex and Chris) and they created a great atmosphere and put on pleasant music. There was also swimming opportunity where we could see a lot of fish. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Great tour and respectful treatment of the animals, of course we would have liked to see whales and dolphins up close, but we saw the animals and did so from the necessary distance. We were given many explanations and were provided with sufficient food and drinks. A great excursion for us as a family.

Thanks to the two guides for this beautiful experience. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to be able to observe whales, but that is the risk when observing nature. We still saw turtles and dolphins. Great swimming spot with translucent water, very nice with a snack. Thanks for the subsequent explanations by the guide about the whales, their way of life, their diet, and their natural habitat. We recommend this excursion to anyone who wishes to observe animals with respect and in a small group. Thank you very much :)

Had a very nice trip, unfortunately our trip was overbooked but we were put on another boat after clear communication beforehand. The yacht consisted of a maximum of 12 guests, so there was a lot of space on the boat and the boat was not overcrowded. Drinks were included and the lunch was also good. Lunch consisted of various tapas, pizza, and fruit. During the trip we also got to see whales, the captain also explained this. One downside is that the tour was supposed to last 3 hours but it ended up lasting 2.5 hours.

The booking was extremely bad. It was canceled or postponed several times. Even though the system showed available spots. I think it would be better if you book the trip on-site. The parking lots are always full and scarce, I would arrive an hour early or by bus. I would recommend the trip itself to everyone, we were able to see turtles and dolphins and went snorkeling. It was a nice, fun adventure.

Boat trip was fine, was different boat than expected. Had sailboat instead of fast boat. Guide was good and clear. Unfortunately only seen dolphins. We had the afternoon tour of 4 p.m. Best time was in the morning. Snacks are some sandwiches.

There were 8 of us and we went out in a sailboat instead of the boat originally planned. We have seen whales and dolphins. It was magical. This is an activity to do absolutely in Tenerife.

Do not choose this boat trip. The staff and the captain seemed very unprofessional. The day we had booked a trip, there was quite a strong wind, which the staff also made us aware of. They ended up sailing out anyway to a great regret. It winded tremendously and all the passengers were soaked by all the water that came into the boat. We all froze and it was by no means a very good experience. They should have canceled the trip due to the weather but they chose to leave anyway. We also did not see any whales due to the weather conditions. Can't be recommended.

Super nice trip...small group and lots of attention to guests. They almost always guarantee to spot whales, in our case they did. Nice sandwich and 2 cans of beer during the swimming break. Meets our expectations. Nice crew!

An unforgettable, magical experience. The team of Chris and Micky were extremely professional and passionate about their work. We saw calderon whales and turtles. We ended up with some snacks on board and some refreshments and snorkeled

Los bocadillos eran pésimos y hablan solo francés. No habia la bebida garazada. Y nos pidieron hasta la propina al bajar. 🇬🇧 Bud decision to go out with this tour trip, they don't respect the group of whales and is risky for them. Sandwich and bread was not good, the capitan speak just franch nothing english. The boat moved so much inside of the waves and was full of people without space for us. They ask also for tips in the end. 🇮🇹 Bad experience, the boat was too full of people, the maneuvers around the whales endanger the same risking to hurt and stressing them definitely, the captain speaks only French, the sandwiches and snacks are really ridiculous and tasteless. The bathroom stop was too short, the boat in the waves being full of people loses stability and moves too much. They also asked us to tip at the end of the round. Absolutely not Recommendation. 🇨🇵 Mauvaise expérience, mauvaises baguettes, les baleines étaient agacées par la présence du bateau à proximité. Au risque d’en blesser certains. Arrêt de baignade trop vite. Tout est axé sur l’argent, ils nous ont également demandé de laisser un pourboire sur le chemin du retour. Je ne le répéterais même pas gratuitement. Le commandant parlane qu’en français.

The experience was great. Booked via Laura who speaks French to the company "The jet ski center and excursions" of Adeje where we were very well advised. On arrival, Christophe who is French gives us all the information on the course of the excursion and the fauna visible in the surrounding ocean, telling us their history, their way of life and food. We leave with a very friendly crew and Nicky who is an Extraordinary Guide. With the captain, they do everything so that we can see the dolphins and we have admired some! No whale visible during this outing but still, we had full eyes and above all, it is important to say, they do not race wildlife, the animals of this protected area are really respected! The dolphins played the game around the boat, it was wonderful. Nicky then told us about the different cities along the coast, points of interest of the island. Moreover she is even taking care of people who are a little seasick and doing everything to make your experience successful and a good time. We had drinks, sandwiches. We stopped in a small intimate cove where we could swim with mask and snorkel to admire the incredible number of sea bream. We really enjoyed the intimate setting of this outing rather than a large group excursion on a larger boat. I really Trip Tip if you want to take a fabulous souvenir with you!

L'équipage est juste hyper accueillant, très gentil et à l'écoute. Je recommande, foncez les yeux fermés, en plus ils prennent vraiment le temps de nous expliquer quelles espèces nous allons voir, conditions de vie..... Nous avons vu des baleines pilotes juste à côté du bateau c'était incroyable !!
