2 Dive Package For Padi Qualified Divers In Gran Canaria

Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this dive centre. We booked a four-dive package and explicitly informed Blue Water Diving in advance that we had not dived for a year. We asked for one of the dives to be a refresher, but no meaningful refresher was provided. There was no proper review of basic skills or procedures, and the briefing before entering the water was extremely limited. The most concerning part was what happened to my 70-year-old mother. She has around 10 dives behind her and had always enjoyed diving before this experience. After performing a backward roll entry from the boat, she swallowed water and struggled to stabilise herself at the surface. She told the crew in English that she had swallowed water and was having difficulty. Instead of helping her, the instructor started shouting that she should know how to stay afloat. The crew kept telling her to lower her legs, but she was unable to do so. Eventually, someone released some air from her BCD, which allowed her to regain a vertical position. We were also concerned that the BCD might not have been properly fitted for her. The attitude of the staff was equally disappointing. When I asked the boat captain to help adjust my mother's mask, he rudely responded: "Are you a qualified diver? If not, don't tell me what to do." There were also organisational and customer service issues. The boat was delayed by approximately 1.5 hours. I was offered a place on an earlier boat, but this did not make up for the overall experience. My mother completed only two of the four dives. After becoming very cold and feeling unwell following the stressful experience, she decided not to continue. When I requested a refund for the two unused dives (€90), Kate refused. She told me that she had turned other people away because the boat was full and would lose money by refunding us, so she could not offer even a partial refund. However, the boat I saw was approximately half empty. Her explanation was inconsistent with what I observed. Overall, we experienced inadequate preparation despite an explicitly agreed refresher, concerning handling of a situation at the surface, poor communication, rude behaviour from staff and an unwillingness to offer a reasonable solution afterwards. My mother used to enjoy scuba diving. This experience was stressful enough that she decided not to continue. That is particularly disappointing. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Great diving with plenty of underwater wildlife. Well maintained equipment and nice a dive boat. A professional outfit that I would highly recommend. Special thanks to Patrick the Divemaster for the extra help and support.

Fantastic experience for my son who is newly qualifoed, Kate and Giles were amazing and he did two dives one wreck and one coral reef, highly recommended great staff great service and a massive shout out to Eileen who is so professional and takes the time to put everyone at ease

We booked for a couple of dives as certified divers. The experience from booking was first class. One of the best organised dives we’ve done. Start to finish the team were super helpful, the dive sites were chosen to support the conditions of the divers and the weather. All in all a great day!

This company is very professional and also very friendly. The staff is super nice and the equipment is top notch. We did 2 boat dives and both were amazing. On the first one so a huge school of fish and I mean huge was everywhere. On the second dive saw a giant ray it was very big. The pairing up was really good and the guide was good at pointing out fish. They helped with your gear as required to get it on and off. If you’re diving in Puerto Rico or near it this is the company you should look for. They also rent go pros but I was happy just diving.

Fully recommend the Centre, its staff and facilities. 2 dives from boat and fine by 1pm. Excellent equipment, our guide Eileen was total professional and lovely to talk with. Obviously a busy and well oiled machine as they had the group kitted, loaded and on the water without delay. Located adjacent to the marina so no delays loading or unloading Prior experience in club diving from a RIB is helpful as the boat is tight confines for those unused to such setups Top marks all around

Top notch! Professional, friendly, helpful. Easy, came to store, booked dives for next day. Great trip, good instructors, nice dive sites. Not best visibility for uv-photo at the time as there had been a bit windy before roughing it up, but good enough to just enjoy the dive and the underwater life. 5 star. Already booked another two dives, and would have booked more if I had a longer stay.

Lovely dive. Saw a lot of Marine Life. Also did a specialty course in boyancy. Professional and friendly dive instructors.

Great team, each diver had a staff as a their buddy. Everyone was super friendly. I had a brush up dive, and 2 other dives. Saw some cool wrecks, dived in a small cave, saw many fish and an angle shark. Had a super good time!

An amazing full english / spanish team that welcomes you. They provide you with well kept and clean equipment. The instructors are very professional and are very Nice.

I did 18 dives with Blue Water Diving. Everyone is so friendly, safety conscious and there are so many different dives with an amazing assortment of fish, eels and rays to see. I rented top quality dive equipment and always feel safe in their hands. My partner is a nervous diver but was put at ease by his dive guide. The boat is outside the dive centre which makes it so easy and quick to load up. I can't wait to dive again with Blue Water Diving!

Excellent! Can’t recommend them highly enough. Friendly, helpful team who kindly took me out for a confirmatory dive first due to being a little rusty. Then onto a nice sunken wreck in amazing visibility! String Ray, a couple of Moray Eels, Barracuda and many more besides. Even got to see a yellow submarine 😳. Was also able to hire a GoPro and will post photos of the dive and wildlife once I’ve downloaded them. I’ll be back and am recommending you to my friends who are out in Puerto Rico later on in the year too. Thanks again for a great morning. Chris

We have made a few dives. Fill in the forms in advance with the wishes for renting equipment. Everything was well arranged. We made a few boat dives and the bottles were ready on the boat. The rest was laid aside. The advantage is that the school is located on the harbor with the boat in front of the door. The atmosphere is good and Chris and Kate are really nice people. Both have a lot of experience with diving. During the departure we were allowed to decide where we wanted to dive and that became a wreck dive. She determined the second dive in connection with the current. They also have the real British humour. We had Stephanie as a guide who also did her job well. Highly recommended if you want to dive in Puerto Rico.

I truly enjoyed Kate and Giles and the staff, very aware of safety and were very patient. Truly enjoyed the dive.

Blue water diving are a very friendly and helpful business. We arrived a the shop for a chat as my partner is a non diver but wanted to do a DSD while I was out diving from the boat in the morning. All the staff where extremely knowledgeable and very professional and arranged to do a DSD with her and the 2 boat dives with me. All the equipment was assembled ready and the boat was brought around very close to the shop. Both dives where great, the first was on a wreck and the second was a drift dive. Lots of fish, rays, eels and even an angel shark. I got back after the dives to see my partner very happy with her try dives and eager to progress in diving. Thank you so much for giving us both such an excellent service. Will be back to dive with you again.

Second time using Blue Water Diving, and Kate & Chris were as fun & considerate as always. 1st day was boat diving up by Mogan , and the second was shore diving round by the airport. Both days were great fun, and there was good company from the interns that were with Kate & Chris. Plenty to see, and water was 20 degrees, so plenty warm enough. Will be back next year.

Actually my daughter and I booked two dives a day for 2 days and had an amazing time. The boat dives are superb and able to reach locations otherwise inaccessible. Chris and Kate operate a very professional and friendly service and are always a joy to dive with. ( we have dived with them almost every year for the last 8 years. A word of advice. As tourism comes back to the island to pre pandemic levels and Blue Water divings' reputation proceeds them I would say it is better to book your dives in advance so you are not disappointed. it seems that they are getting super busy and numbers per dive are limited by law for boat dives apparently. I would say, having dived different locations around the world, that BWD are one of the most safety conscious and professional centres.

My wife, my son and I had a great day. Smooth business and great staff. The dive was on a day of difficult weather, so we did two dives from Amadores Beach. Chris and the staff guided us to see angelsharks, stingray, trumpetfish and more. My wife had a successful refreshdive and was taken very good care of. Recommended😊👍

The water was crystal clear. Our gear was ready for us quickly and the instructor, Kasha, was fabulous. We saw the biggest stingray I have ever seen in all of my years of diving. One of the group was a bit of an ass to Kasha but she handled him extremely politely.

After a gap of being in the water, my son went on the reactivate course and the team were brilliant at ensuring safety and confidence. He was eager to go on further dives and thoroughly enjoyed his time with everyone. Highly recommend blue Water Diving to anyone wanting to experience diving for the first time, complete their PADI or just enjoy what the sea has to offer.

It was great going out for a shore dive with Kate and the interns checking out the rocky shores on the East of the island. Managed to see loads of nudibranches, various reef fish and some cuttlefish. Kate was a great dive buddy and was very helpful with the set up and pointing out things on the dive. Would definitely go back.

First time I've used Blue Water, so there's always that concern about using an unknown dive shop, but Kate & the team were very welcoming & knowledgeable. I'd dived in Gran Canaria before, so I was looking for some new dive spots, and day 1 saw us heading up to Mogan for a couple of wreck dives, the Cermona II & Araganza. There was plenty of life on & around the wrecks (octopus, eagle rays, stingrays, barracuda), & Kate was a great dive buddy, pointing things out, including a large shoal of tuna that were right behind me. Day 2, and something different. Carolyn & her merry band of interns picked me up & we headed to her favourite dive site on the East of the island - El Cabron. This is a shore dive, and can be a bit of a washing machine going in, but once you're in, the life is fantastic, eels, octopus, cuttlefish, arches, caves - it had it all! The best compliment I can give was that these 2 days felt like I was diving with my regular dive buddies! Great experience & I'll be booking back on when i'm back in June!

An excellent dive, managed by Chris and Kate, and I would highly recommend Blue Water Diving to anyone looking for a friendly, safe, and excellent dive in Gran Canaria. I spoke to Kate via email, looking for a wreck dive while I was in Gran Canaria, she was very helpful, and arranged two dives to suit my schedule. I was collected from my hotel by the dive master, Chris, and taken to the dive centre to get kitted out with the equipment before travelling the short distance to the rib. A very short drive out to sea dropped us onto the Cermona 2 wreck, and on the same dive we moved onto the El Perchel wreck, followed by a second dive after a short break back on dry land. The Dive was excellent, as well as the two wrecks, we saw Rays, Cuttlefish, Barracuda, Octopus, and an array of other fish. Throughout the dive Chris kept a keen eye on everything and spotted the various species like a blood hound, ensuring I missed nothing.

Very Lovey and interesting dive sites. Helpful staff members. Good local knowledge and lots of fish to see from their own boat.

I highly recommend diving with the Blue Water team! I did two dives in one day with Chris and absolutely loved it. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel comfortable, which allowed me to enjoy my dives 100%! Would definitely do it again if I am back in the Canaries.

I did 8 dives with these guys. They have an excellent, professional and friendly team. The dives sites were always different. I've seen an angel shark, some squids, flounders, arrowhead crabs, murray eels, barracudas, sea slugs, fire worms...The wrecks are particularly exiting sites. The pick up and driving back to my place was much appreciated. I f you like diving, you can't go wrong with Blue Water diving

We did 2x boat dives, one at the Cemona wreck and a drift dive at the Mogan house reef! Getting it organized and booked was super easy via whatsapp, diving instructors were friendly and the dives were fun (especially the cemona wreck).

I was a little nervous approaching this experience as it had been some time since my PADI open water dive. It was very easy to make contact prior to my dive and all of my questions were responded to really quickly. On the day, my nerves were quickly settled by the well organised setup and a friendly and individualised approach to teaching. This led to a really enjoyable diving experience that felt safe and supported. I would definitely choose to use Blue Water Diving again when I’m next in Gran Canaria

Had a good experience diving with blue water. Nice and relaxing atmosphere. Had two dives with them and it was like expected here in the canaries. Saw some interesting wildlife and the instructor was very keen on guiding us around the dive site. Also, rented full gear with them which was top standard and worked perfect.

They didn't find our hostel, so it didn't started as smooth as planned :p. But as soon as we arrived at the divesite near Puerto Mogan (wreck dive, Cermona II) I immediately forgot about the small delay. A Divemaster intern, named Costa, guided me perfectly along the wreck. We were going down and just 5 seconds later a curious Eagle Ray was circling around us! Schools of Barracudas, a defensive Damselfish, huge Green Murray, ... I was surprised of the dive, cause I didn't expect that much variety in underwaterlife. The second dive, a drift dive a bit further to the West of Puerto Mogan (forgot the name), was also very interesting. Big boulders with Scorpionfishes and beautiful Cuttlefishes and a lot of Garden Eels in the sandy patches along the boulders. Right before the safety stop, a Bluespotted Stingray was hiding between the rocks, which was the end of a perfect dive. Everything happened safely and with utterly patience. I would surely recommended this dive centre!

Kate and Chris got me through the open water course after I came to the island and I've been diving with them 20+ times. Always have friendly and safe Instructors to take the dives with and teach you the way to blow bubbles properly! Come and have a great time with Blue Water Diving!

I was very impressed with the diving centre. Everyone was very friendly and made me very confident in diving. There were all levels of diving and they really tailored my diving to my skill level. I would definitely recommend this place and would likely come back again!

What can I say, I have dived all over the world, experienced lots, by far these guys are one of the best anywhere, staff are amazing Chris & Kate could not do more to make your day superb, boat is fantastic, equipment is new & in great condition & fun factor, thats why I’ve only gone back to them since...
