"Stargate" Tenerife Stargazing

We had an absolutely fantastic experience stargazing on Mount Teide with György Farkasréti! This is a truly special experience that we highly recommend to both children and adults. György is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about astronomy. He explains everything in such an engaging and easy-to-understand way that everyone, regardless of age, can enjoy and learn something new. The unique atmosphere of Mount Teide, the clear night sky and the breathtaking view of the stars were already amazing, but György made the evening even more memorable with his knowledge and enthusiasm. Our daughter loved it, and so did we as adults! It was an unforgettable family experience. If you are visiting Tenerife, don’t miss this activity! It’s so much more thanhogy just stargazing – it’s a truly magical experience. Thank you, György!

The stargazing session with telescopes exceeded all our expectations. It was fantastic to have such an in-depth opportunity to admire the night sky. What made the evening truly exceptional was the enthusiasm, knowledge, and kindness of our guide. We learned so many interesting things, and the entire experience felt warm, welcoming, and inspiring. This was so much more than just an activity — it was an experience that will shape my life from now on. I have always known how tiny we are in the universe, but now, for the first time, I truly feel just how wonderful life is!

Stargazing was a very interesting and exciting activity. I recommend it to everyone.

We bumped into Gyuri's programme two years ago and were completely taken. So when I planned another trip to Tenerife, it was a no-brainer to add it to the plan. And it surely was excellent! He managed groups in two languages simultaneously - English and Hungarian, while showing us the Moon, Saturn, multiple birthplaces for stars, binary stars, dead stars, supernovas and other galaxies. Both the equipment and the presentation is professional, but also showing Gyuri's absolute commitment and enthusiasm for something he loves. Which is sharing knowledge about the stars and showing how amazing our universe really is. Tips for preparation: tho' Gyuri really does everything to make the guests comfortable, with blankets and hot tea, it can get cold up there - so dress warm and with layers. We were up at ~2100m, and the temperature went down to 10 Celsius. It was a beautiful evening with an excellent programme - I'll surely be back next time!

Unique experience with extremely powerful telescope and knowledgeable guide! A night to remember!!!!

Our guides were super professional, yet very friendly and made us feel very comfortable in their presance.They brought us warm drinks, blankets, and made sure we were okay. The place and sights they showed us were absolutely mesmerising. We learned many new things and we enjoyed ourselves a lot.

George and Anna are amazing, their knowledge and ability to explain the cosmos to absolute beginners is amazing..and in three languages! Gyuri is friendly and enthusiastic, and explains everything in a way that is easy to understand and enjoyable even for complete beginners. The stargazing and telescope observations were an unforgettable experience! I also particularly enjoyed his local guiding, even on topics not directly related to astronomy. Before this evening, Tenerife's volcanic history basically meant the Teide to me. It was during Gyuri's explanations that I really began to understand just how enormous and extensive the volcanic system that created the island actually is. Overall, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

George and Anna waited for us at the meetingpoint, where the telescope has been ready for adventure. They were very kind, cheerful and professional. In additon, they served warm tea and blanket. We had an absolutely amazing evening with George and Anna. This was one of the highlights of our holiday in Tenerife and an experience we'll remember for a long time. From the moment we arrived, they made everyone feel welcome. George is incredibly knowledgeable and explains astronomy in a way that's easy to understand, whether you're a complete beginner or already interested in space. His passion is infectious, and every constellation, galaxy, nebula and planet came with fascinating stories and facts. Looking through the huge telescope was breathtaking. Seeing distant galaxies and nebulae with our own eyes was something we never imagined we'd experience. The live camera views on the screen were equally impressive and made the experience even more memorable. Anna was fantastic throughout the evening, making sure everyone was comfortable and helping with photos. The whole event was well organised, relaxed and personal. You never felt rushed, and there was plenty of time to ask questions. If you're visiting Tenerife, don't hesitate to book this experience. It offers so much more than simply looking at stars. You learn, you laugh, and you leave with a completely different appreciation of the night sky. Thank you, George and Anna, for such a wonderful evening. The stargazing experience was amazing. Learnt so much about stars and programme was super informative and entertaining. The programme is in small group around 10 people, so everyone got the chance to see the stars and galaxy. I would definitely recommend the session to anyone! Gyorgy, the instructor, was also super kind and accomodating. Made the experience very friendly and interesting for everyone. The payment process was simple and straight forward. The programme lasted for a bit more than 3 hours, with great atmosphere.

An unforgettable one, with constant expert explanations that were also easy to follow as a layperson. Communication was seamless, the location easy to reach and well signposted. On site, a thoughtful and caring approach — from the blankets to the warm tea — and we even received the wonderful photos the next day, so we can relive it in front of the monitor too: just how tiny we are, and how astonishing it is that all of that is really up there in the sky and we got to see it! It was a fantastic night. The guide knowledge, the special telescope and the night sky... Everything was amazing. I really recommend everyone this tour. He even helped us to find someone for pick up. The price worth it! And we got the beautiful photos too. The experience was 3 hours, very nice atmosphere. Small group.

Amazing experience! The galaxy are terrific

I'm very pleased, no complaints whatsoever. I attended with my 9-year-old child. We arrived a few minutes late, and missed the sunset (which was okay since we explored a few places on the way instead by choice). We were a bit concerned at first because of cloud cover at sea level, but the location was well above the clouds so nothing but clear skies. We dressed warmly - 3 layers but the outer layer was relatively light - and George and Anna had additional blankets which we were also grateful to use. "Warmly" in our case should have been the midweight base layer and midlayer we were wearing, but a heavier autumnal jacket, thin gloves, and a hat and/or scarf (I never know how to calibrate, so hope this detail for April at least is helpful! At sea level, we were warm in shorts and a sleeveless top.) Our group was multi-language, and George and Anna switched languages quite seamlessly, making sure both groups had a full understanding of what we were looking at, including both with our eyes (planets, satellites, stars, constellations), through the eyepiece of the telescope (the detail of the moon! the galaxies!) and how layering multiple photos provides the color and detail one sees in magazines and press releases. Through the telescope we were able to see Venus and Jupiter (and its colorful clouds), galaxies of different shapes, the surface of the moon in significant detail, the Orion nebula, and I may be missing some! Each segment included kid- and adult-friendly descriptions of what we were seeing. The program does not include transportation, and we opted to not rent a car this trip, but George provided a referral for a car and driver that knew exactly where to meet up and was comfortable and safe. I appreciate his referral, as it reduced my concern about finding the "right" location with a car service not familiar. The drive was beautiful as well!

It was one of the most unique experiences in our lives. We're lucky enough to have George as well as the stunning telescope. Also huge thanks for George's comprehensive guide for all the stars, galaxies, nebulae, etc. The photos we received were definitely lifetime memories.

We stumbled upon Anna and Gyuri’s stargazing group by pure luck while visiting El Teide, and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip! The views are simply indescribable, and their knowledge of the night sky is endless. They took such good care of us with warm tea, cozy blankets, and a special 'astronomer’s drink' to sharpen our vision. There was even a wonderful surprise at the end (no spoilers, but it was amazing!). Whether you are young or old, this is a must-do program if you are in Tenerife. We can't wait to join them again to learn even more about the universe. Highly recommended!

From the moment we were arrived, everything felt smooth and well-organized. The guides were friendly and shared fascinating details about the sky/ stars. Watching the sky above the clouds with a warm drink and blanket was pure magic. Later, under a pitch-black sky, we saw a comet (R2), the Moon and even a dying star through the telescope. The Milky Way stretched overhead like a painting. It wasn’t just a tour — it was one of those rare experiences that stays with us forever. The telescope views and the details made it feel like we were traveling through space and time. Epic night under the stars. Saw a comet, nebulae, the Moon—everything through a serious telescope. Guide knew his stuff, kept it warm and comfortable. No fluff, just pure cosmic awe. One of the best things we did in Tenerife. Don’t skip this. Thanks for the unforgettable experience.

Gyorgy and his wife are passionate about stars and you can feel it ! They will transfer you their knowledge and answer any question you might have. That being said, the explanation is one part of the highlight, the other one is the telescope, with the instrument they have you will be able to observe breathtaking views of the sky, absolutely worth it ! There is no comparison possible with all other stargazing tours offered on Tenerife (indeed there was another one next to us with only very small telescope and much more mass tourist oriented...) If you want the real deal with the explanations and observation of an astronomer, search no further, this is the place to come. They also did provide us with warm blankets and a very nice song once the area quieted down after mass tourism left. Another highlight are all the pictures you will receive after the experience, it allows you to enjoy your time and to remember it afterwards !

We had the absolute pleasure of joining a private stargazing experience in May at the foot of Mount Teide, guided by the incredibly passionate astronomer, György Farkasréti. Thanks to their deep local knowledge, we were able to make the most of our short time. György shared fascinating stories about the island’s history and nature, making the journey both educational and entertaining. Anna’s warmth and attentiveness continued to brighten the day. The stargazing experience was absolutely amazing! With the large telescope, we were able to see many beautiful sights in the night sky. We were also incredibly lucky to witness 37 shooting stars! Fantasztikus élményben volt részünk! A Teide különleges környezete már önmagában is lenyűgöző, az esti csillagnézés pedig a tenerifei nyaralásunk egyik legemlékezetesebb programja lett. Nagy előnyt jelentett számunkra, hogy a program magyar nyelven zajlott. A csillagos égboltról rengeteg érdekes információt kaptunk, mindezt közérthetően, érdekesen és kellemes hangulatban. Nagyon tartalmas, jól szervezett és emlékezetes program, amelyet jó szívvel ajánlunk azoknak, akik Tenerifén járva szeretnék közelebbről is megismerni a Teide csillagos égboltját. A magyar nyelvű vezetés pedig különösen értékessé teszi az élményt.

Csillagles az anyanyelvünkön (magyar) fantasztikus volt. Gyuri és Anna nagyon kedvesek voltak. Nagyon érdekes dolgokat halhattunk és láthattunk. Bálint fiam sokat kérdezett és minden kérdésre alapos, precíz választ kapott, pedig még csak 10 éves. Nagyon jó élményekkel teli este volt.

Ez volt az első programunk Tenerifén, és minden percét nagyon élveztük. Anna és Gyuri fantasztikussá tették az estét, a hangulat pedig egyszerűen felejthetetlen volt. Nagyon sok érdekes dolgot tanultunk, és az egész program különleges élmény marad számunkra. Ezt a programot tényleg nem érdemes kihagyni, ha Tenerifén jártok!

Egyedülálló élményben volt részünk! Lenyűgöző látvány tárult elénk, mindez profi, mégis a gyerekek számára is könnyen érthető és élvezetes magyarázatokkal kiegészítve. Aki Tenerifén jár, semmiképpen se hagyja ki ezt a programot.

Szuper program Tenerifén! A 9 éves fiaimnak is nagyon tetszett! Sok mindent tanultunk és hihetetlen minőségben láttunk bolygókat, galaxisokat.

Szívből ajánljuk ezt a magyar nyelvű csillagászati programot mindenkinek, aki Tenerifén jár! A Teidén töltött este nyaralásunk egyik legszebb élménye volt. Megcsodálhattuk a Tejutat, a Holdat, a Szaturnuszt, számos csillagképet, valamint születő és haldokló csillagokat is. Lenyűgöző tudással, érthetően, közvetlenül és nagy lelkesedéssel vezette végig az estét Gyuri, így nemcsak gyönyörű dolgokat láttunk, hanem rengeteget tanultunk is. Külön öröm volt, hogy mindezt magyar nyelven hallgathattuk. Felejthetetlen élmény volt, amit még sokáig emlegetni fogunk. Köszönjük ezt a csodálatos estét!

Kevés olyan programon vettünk részt, ami ennyire mély nyomot hagyott bennünk. A tenerifei csillagles Gyurival és kedves feleségével, Annával egyszerűen felejthetetlen volt. Gyuri nemcsak hatalmas tudású csillagász, hanem fantasztikus előadó is. Ritka az, amikor valaki ennyire szenvedélyesen és mégis közérthetően tud mesélni az univerzumról. Minden egyes történetéből érződik, hogy a csillagászat nem csupán a hivatása, hanem az élete. Lenyűgöző volt hallgatni, miközben a távcsövön keresztül olyan égi csodákat láthattunk, amelyekről korábban csak képeken álmodtunk. Anna kedvessége, figyelmessége és közvetlensége pedig igazán különlegessé tette az estét. ( A dalt pedig köszönjük neki még egyszer!!!) Az egész programnak családias, barátságos hangulata volt, mintha régi ismerősökkel töltöttünk volna egy varázslatos estét. A Teide égboltja önmagában is lélegzetelállító, de az, ahogyan Gyuri és Anna ezt az élményt átadják, egészen más szintre emeli az egészet. Nem egyszerű csillagles volt, hanem egy utazás a világegyetembe, tele érdekes történetekkel, humorral, rengeteg új ismerettel és olyan pillanatokkal, amelyek örökre velünk maradnak. Ha valaki Tenerifére utazik, ezt a programot egyszerűen nem szabad kihagynia. Számunkra ez volt az egész utazás egyik legkülönlegesebb és legmeghatározóbb élménye. Köszönjük, Gyuri és Anna, hogy megmutattátok nekünk az eget úgy, ahogy még soha nem láttuk. Biztosak vagyunk benne, hogy még visszatérünk hozzátok!

Hatalmas élményt adott ez a program a család minden tagjának.Akit érdekelnek a csillagok, a bolygók ne hagyja ki. Aki meg nem érdeklődik a téma után akkor meg azért menjen el, mert ez után biztos máshogy fog az égre nézni. Gyuri hatalmas tudással rendelkezik és látszik hogy szereti amit csinál és érdekesen adja át a tudását.

Csodálatosan éreztük magunkat, fantasztikus volt az egész

Ha Tenerifén jártok, ezt a csillaglest semmiképp ne hagyjátok ki! Az élmény önmagában is csodálatos, de ami igazán feltette az i-re a pontot, az Gyuri volt. Hihetetlenül profi, mindent is tud az égboltról, de a legjobb az egészben a belőle áradó lelkesedés. Egy másodpercre sem éreztük azt a tipikus unalmas „ti vagytok az ezredik csoport a héten” hangulatot. Látszik rajta, hogy tiszta szívből imádja, amit csinál, és ez a rajongás átragad mindenkire. Szuper hangulatú, tartalmas és felejthetetlen este volt. Maximálisan ajánlom!
