Misleading "Adults Only" branding—it’s a family resort Do not book this expecting a true adults-only getaway. "RedLevel" is merely a small section inside a massive, family-packed resort. Despite booking a "RedLevel Junior Suite," our room was placed in the standard wing with children running the hallways morning and night. Dining was no better. Every half-board restaurant was overrun with families—from a toddler screaming next to us through an entire dinner to a Teppanyaki table filled mostly with kids. The sole adults-only restaurant they could offer to us required paying extra outside our half board package. The only included adults-only space was the RedLevel pool, yet there is a general adults-only pool just 10 meters away open to all guests anyway. On top of the lack of exclusivity, the relentless upselling made staff feel like salespeople: -Pushed to upgrade to all-inclusive at check-in, 5 minute after arriving. -Proposed an extra charge to use the empty poolside Bali beds (250€ !!!) -Pitched the "Circle Club" three separate times despite clear refusals the first time. -Proposed an off-package dining when I begged for just ONE dinner in a adult only restaurant. Following our complaints, we were proposed to upgrade to a room with Jaccuzzi for the 2 last nights. But this is not what we were asking. We were not asking for extra accommodations. We were asking to receive the adults-only and quiet experience we have actually paid for.

Overall a disappointing experience at Red level Gran Melia. The Resort itself was beautiful but the junior suite didn't feel like one compared to other 5 star resorts I've been to, it feels like you're paying £200+ extra for a slightly larger standard room. The room service for Red level is shockingly bad. Note that I am not talking about all staff but multiple times when me and my partner had ordered room service, they would eagerly ask for a tip and when turned down (as we didn't feel their service was sufficient), their mood would immediately change and become sulky towards us. We had one instance where the staff came into our room with the food inside a heated trolley, and proceeded to leave the entire trolley inside the room for us to take out the food ourselves, zero service and manners. We actually chose this hotel for my partner's birthday, so one day prior, I spoke with reception whether a cake can be arranged to be delivered to our room the next day, which was his upcoming birthday and our final day at the resort. I specifically requested the cake to be delivered before noon the next day as we knew it was our last day and wanted to make the most of it. Next day comes- no sign of cake until past noon, multiple calls made to the reception to chase this up before it arrived. I had already agreed to pay for this so ended up spending the entire morning-noon of my final day at the resort inside my room as I didn't want to miss the cake.
Would struggle to recommend this hotel. The resort is generally impressive but there are a lot of negatives which spoilt the stay for us, and given the price I don’t think it’s worth it. - Do not do half board or all inclusive, it’s a complete rip off. It’s cheaper to pay as you go - Main buffet breakfast is poor, red level is good but the other restaurants on site look really underwhelming - On check in we were told we would be able to check out at 2pm, the day before we checked out called reception to confirm. They advised late check out was now not available and we’d need to be out of our room by 12 but we could get another room to have a shower at, but we’d need to call back in the morning to confirm it. The next day we stopped by reception and asked for a room to be allocated for a shower before leaving, they said they could offer us a room for an hour and a half between 4:30pm and 6pm. At 4:30pm I went to reception to get the keys to the room, it turned out to be on the other side of the hotel and we’d been allocated 2 half hour slots in a tiny room with a shower, it was a complete faff and very disorganised. We were told our bags would get picked up at 6pm, no one turned up and it took repeated calls to organise everything. - Birds and flies at breakfast were very irritating, unhygienic and staff seemed to do nothing about it. - Rooms were not cleaned to the highest standard. - Most disappointingly after calling the reception late in the evening to let them know we had got engaged on the second to last day of our holiday to see if they could do anything special for us, they advised they’d let the manager know- we got absolutely nothing, not even a congratulations message. We were willing to pay for champagne or flowers etc. Very disappointing. Edited: replied to our review but offered no solution
We are regular visitors to the Red Level and call this wonderful hotel our second home! The reception team are very welcoming, friendly and attend to any request such as booking restaurants either in the hotel or locally. One of the highlights is the Red Level breakfast served, overlooking the sea, with probably the widest choice of buffet and menu choices we have ever seen! We also thoroughly enjoy the afternoon open bar which serves the most amazing canapés! Overall, the staff and the attention to every detail is exceptional and as we leave, we’re already looking forward to our next visit.
The Ultimate Red Level Experience A Triple-Crown Celebration Our 3rd Year of Perfection. The Red Level at Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora is in a Class of Its Own My wife and I just returned from our third consecutive year at the Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora, staying from February 13th to the 18th. We return every year specifically to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and once again, the resort exceeded every possible expectation. While the entire property is a stunning, impeccably clean, and beautifully maintained oasis, it is the Red Level (Adults Only) experience that keeps us coming back. We were given a truly magnificent ocean front room featuring a private whirlpool. There is nothing quite like the "unforgettable" feeling of watching the Atlantic waves from your own balcony. The resort itself is breathtakingly beautiful and taken care of with such obvious pride and detail, but the Red Level provides that extra layer of exclusivity and peace that makes a holiday feel like a dream. We made reservations at each of the incredible restaurants on-site. From the first night to the last, the food was consistently incredible and the service was nothing short of top notch. Every meal felt like a special event, perfectly fitting for a birthday celebration. What truly sets this resort apart is the human element. We want to extend a massive, heartfelt thank you to Vero, the Assistant Director at the Red Level. Vero is the heart of this operation; she personally ensured that every detail of our stay was flawless and made the "most fantastic" experience possible for us. However, we know that an experience this seamless is a massive team effort. We want to specifically highlight: The Red Level Desk: Their professionalism and warmth make the check-in and concierge experience feel personal and elite. The Adults-Only Pool Team: The service poolside was amazing—attentive, friendly, and always one step ahead of our needs. In a world where you can travel anywhere, the Red Level team makes it impossible for us to want to go anywhere else. They don’t just host you; they treat you like family. To Vero and the entire Red Level team: thank you for making my wife’s birthday so memorable once again. You have created memories for us that will last a lifetime, and we are already looking forward to our fourth visit next year! Sincerely Tito & Charleen
