For context I use a custom manual wheelchair. I’ve just come back from an overall great holiday, the resort itself is very nice the pools are great and have some good areas for evenings with the family. Food was good I do think they should change the dessert a bit though as it was basically the same every night. But there are quite a few things that need updating for disabled guests. The location of the wheelchair accessible rooms are great, very close to all the facilities. But the room it self needs some major upgrades: - no grab rails anywhere in the bathroom. - no shower chair (had to use a outside chair) - the shower head was to high to reach. - the bed was on wheels and couldn’t lock. - the wardrobes were not lowered. - the door lock/handle was very had to use and had to get my key redone multiple times. These are key thing for a wheelchair accessible room so I’m not sure why they don’t have them, if I was a paralysed wheelchair user there is no way I would have been able to stay here. So i think it’s very important for these things to change. But again the resort itself is good and I would recommend to others but not to disabled people.

Just returned from a family holiday (3 kids U12) and 2 adults to this location. I would say on the balance, it is a good to average hotel. It certainly isn’t the horror story some have posted but it has flaws. The room was OK, rather dated but relatively clean and satisfactory for our needs. We were unfortunate to get a room near the front of the complex so road noise was a factor which meant we didn’t really sit on the patio. The grounds could do with some maintenance – there was litter around too. The pool was again OK, the sun loungers are quite dirty although we didn’t find any broken ones, however they are all well-worn. The pool is cold but I’ve found this at all locations across the island. The use of single use paper cups around the pool area isn’t the best, other similar hotels have moved to a reusable cup approach and it means people leave paper cups everywhere and they blow around in the wind. The snack bar is typical however outside of hot food times it was pretty light. Crisps or something and all-day ice cream would have been better. Drinks were fine, standard AI affair. I’m not one for cocktails but the beer and spirits were good. Food, again I would say was fine, standard AI. On some days my food was piping hot, others it was cold. I thought there was good food some nights and not so good others. I’ve had better at other AI resorts and while it wasn’t bad, it was just – meh. That being said watching grown adults eating essentially kids food when there are proper adult alternatives (Freshly grilled meat and fish and canarian potatoes – lovely) is amusing, but each to their own. It's your holiday so its your choice. The Italian and Spanish nights were good. Entertainment was pretty good, the kids enjoyed the disco and the arcade machines took a lot of my money! Staff were lovely and a credit to the hotel. Bar staff, cleaning staff, reception – all fantastic. All in all, don’t believe the horror stories, but go with an expectation – for the amount paid I was satisfied with the holiday and we certainly had a good time but next time I will probably look somewhere else. Star rating is based on facilities, but I was at a 3* last year (Bluebay Lanzarote) that was probably ahead of HL Club Playa Blanca.
À bit of a mixed bag. The accommodation is fairly basic. The bungalow is reasonably spacious but fitted out cheaply - certainly nothing like a typical 4* hotel room. However, certainly not uncomfortable. The grounds were well laid out and attractive. The food was ok; plenty of variation through the week and plenty of choice. Much of it was good but it was uneven - I always seemed to end up with at least one item that was poor - dried up, overly salty, wrong texture etc.. The meats and fish were generally good and the veg more disappointing. The pool area was fine - plenty of sun beds, enough shade, but the pool temperature was cool. Inclusive drinks were good. Evening entertainment wasn't to my taste. The kids enjoyed their entertainment and were happy with the food. Location is fine - about 15 mins from the beach and 10 mins from the bus station. Resort itself is very pleasant. I won't be rushing to go back but wouldn't rule it out. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
We stayed for a few nights with 3 kids, the bungalows are lovely, staff where really friendly especially the entertainment staff I felt they really made an effort with everyone. We had an issue with one of the windows in our bungalow but it was rectified within an hour of us saying. Everything was clean plenty of food to choose from. 10 min walk down across the road to marina. Other hl to use within the area if we had more time. Would recommend.
Stayed in late January with my wife and 10 month old on an all inclusive basis. Overall we were happy taking into consideration the price paid and would stay again, but definitely some feedback which may put others off. Room - the 2 bedroom bungalow was perfect for our break. It had plenty of space to relax and also store our luggage. It was dated in places but overall fine. Maintenance - unfortunately when we arrived in the evening there was no hot water (boiler issue fixed outside), and discovered the following day aircon unit didnt work (no batteries in the remote). Both problems were quickly resolved when we called reception but not an ideal start, something that could be be checked as a basic. Pool area - nice enough, plenty of sun all day. Only downside is some somebeds were dirty and mouldy which let it down. Food - in general thought this was really good. Good variety, themed nights, great meats, hot and cold options, high chairs for our little one, clean and modern. Unfortunately there were some dishes that were worringly below temperature. For example one evening on the live cooking station there was grilled veal (delicious), but then the mash potatoe and gravy were served not on a warm plate... Also another night a pork stew was luke warm at best. Drinks - Generally great. Amstel beer, basic cocktails, most local spirits, and help yourself pepsi/fanta machines. At dinner and the individual bars, great. By the pool, beer served in small paper cups and the queues were long at times. Staff - all lovely and helpful from our interactions Cats - EVERYWHERE. We are animal lovers and our little one enjoyed spotting them. They were well looked after, but I think it was close to crossing the line as to what is acceptable. Location - great. 10/15 min walk to beach and felt safe. 5/10 min walk to local bus station which was handy. Few other bits - we didnt book any excursions but plenty available. We hired a car, there was plenty of parking. Site felt very safe and family orientated.
