Very informative tour guide, and so many places visited with significant detail shared. Great for families. Crowded House also organized a private transfer back to Istanbul, our driver was on time and incredibly safe. Highly recommend this tour and Crowded House company

Itinerary
Your tour starts at the door of your hotel in Çanakkale at around 11:30am, where you will be met by our passenger escort and accompanied to the ferry terminal, where you will board the waiting ferry for the short trip across the Dardanelles Strait. On arrival in the town of Eceabat, once the ancient city of Madytos, located on the shores of the Dardanelles, you will be able to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you board our coach for the 15 minute trip out to the battlefields, crossing the Gallipoli Peninsula and driving to the Aegean coast, and one of the most famous beaches in modern history – ANZAC Cove. The first part of your tour takes in the area where the men of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landed on April 25 1915, with our experienced guide giving you both background to the campaign leading up to the landing as well as describing the events of that historic day and beyond. Among the highlights of the first part of the tour are standing above ANZAC Cove, site of the initial landing, and visiting the grave of John Simpson Kirkpatrick, the stretcher bearer famed as the Man with the Donkey for carrying wounded soldiers to a medical aid post using a stolen donkey. Moving from the beaches up into the hills above, the tour then traces the line of the battle along what became known as Second Ridge, where the Allied advance was halted that first day of fighting by the Ottoman defenders and where the front line was located for the next seven months. The tour follows the road along the top of Second Ridge, with the lines of Allied and Turkish trenches still clear on either side. The tours stops at a number of cemeteries and memorials, including the Australian memorial at Lone Pine – where almost 5000 Australians who have no known grave are commemorated – and Johnston’s Jolly Cemetery where we walk through the now abandoned trenches and tunnel entrances. The final stop on the tour is Chunuk Bair, one of the highest points on the peninsula, and site of the New Zealand national memorial. The hill was captured in August by New Zealand troops and held for two days before being recaptured from the Allies by Ottoman forces under the personal command of Mustafa Kemal – later the president of modern Turkey. Chunuk Bair was the scene of some of the fiercest fighting of the campaign, with the names of more than 850 New Zealand soldiers who fell in the area commemorated on the memorial. The recapture of Chunuk Bair effectively ended Allied hopes of victory at Gallipoli and so is a fitting place for our tour to close. At the conclusion of the tour, our bus will return to Eceabat. Those guests wishing to travel to Istanbul will be able to take our specially configured bus, designed to provide more space and greater leg room for your comfort, for the approximately five hour trip. For those guests wishing to return to Çanakkale, you will be escorted to the nearby ferry for the trip back across the Dardanelles.

Thank you the team and especially our driver Coşkun and our guide Burak for the awesome ANZAC Tour! The description of the landings/battles was very detailed and we got golden nuggets of niche information along with deeply touching personal stories from both sides of this epic war. All of this delivered with great humor and verve. Highly recommended!
Amazing experience. İbrahim was our guide, clearly extremely knowledgeable but also good sense of humour - perfect balance given where we were. The tour was really special and the commentary fantastic. İbrahim made the tour - literally! I have left many reviews of our time in Turkey so I’m leaving this part for the admin side of things as there were many moving parts to this tour. What to expect: 60+ people plus will arrive In Eceabet to join the tour from various places. Lots of these people anre leaving luggage at the offIce. Everyone has lunch together - this is only about 30 minutes with a really good basic fare. Everyone then heads out on their very comfortable sprinter vans (with phone charging capability) and honestly BRILLIANT guides. From here, it is just unbelievable. Upon return, it may appear busy (which it is) but they absolutely nail it. They know exactly what is going on and who needs to be where so do not worry at all! On top of all of this I mentioned my grandfather fought at Gallipoli, was injured, sent to the UK and then France where he was killed and I cannot tell you how much information İbrahim sent me about him - so, so moving and above & beyond. Book with total confidence!
Fantastic tour of the key war graves and battlefields of Gallipoli, especially for Australians and New Zealanders. Includes Anzac Cove, Lone Pine and the Nek. Our guide, Ercan was extremely knowledgeable and is obviously passionate about the subject matter and really brought the history to life.
Amazing tour, staff friendly, supportive and made the experience so much better. Canakkle is a beautiful township where the office is situated. The little restaurant was awesome, meals looked amazing, unfortunately I was unable to eat anything due to post surgery but it looked great. Our tour guide was very experienced and knowledgeable and it really helped to have a guided tour as i had very limited history about Gallipoli so this made a huge difference. Tour was an eye opener and very emotional once we landed at the NZ memorial site, although I personally had no one who served during that war the wairua was very strong. The best thing for me was being able to touch the water in ANZAC Cove where our history started for our troops. Pit stops we're very good and gave options to purchase food for morningtea and dinner. Greatful to Guided Tours for arranging private puck up for us in the morning from our hotel as it took away the added stress of finding a way to meet at one of the pick up locations and it was pouring down with rain. I personally would highly recommend you to anyone thinking about taking the tour. Thank you fir an amazing experience, great way to finish our trip 🧡💛💚💙
This was a fabulous tour. Our guide, Cindy, was very knowledgeable and also had a great sense of humour. We had just the right amount of time at each spot and the whole day was super organised. Lunch was nice too.
Great tour. The guide was very educational and it was an enjoyable day. Highly recommend choosing this tour when visiting Gallipoli
The guide was the highlight with his sincerity and wealth of knowledge. It was a small group and while there were quite a few stops it went smoothly.
Well organised, with good communication and responsive to changes. Tour guide was very knowledgable. Burak was very impressive with his knowlege and made the trip informative and fun. Great if you are an Australian or New Zealander.
Great tour with lunch included. Or guide Cindy was wonderful, very knowledgeable and perfect English. Thank you.
The tour was very well run with knowledgeable and helpful guides. I learnt heaps. Communication was good with the company
Guides both Sam & Cindy were fantastic. Cindy had huge knowledge of Gallipoli & was a joy to listen to her. Amazing pick up & drop off & lunch we received on tour was very good. Great value for money. Would recommend highly.
Wonderful tour, with Ibrahim, an excellent guide who met us Çanakkale pier, before we boarded the ferry over to Eceabat, where we joined with some more people who had travelled down from Istanbul for the day. After a lunch of chicken and salad we then proceeded to visit the monuments, beaches and cemeteries, all the while Ibrahim keeping us informed and keeping us entertained with facts and anecdotes. Highlights of course Lone Pine and Anzac Cove. As mentioned at the start of the tour, it would probably take a week to see everything on the peninsula related to the Gallipoli campaign; our tour this day was a great way to visit Anzac Cove and memorials at a very fair price with a great guide and driver team. Thank you.
Great tour of Gallipoli sites with knowledgeable and helpful guides.
The entire experience was excellent. The local restaurant lunch was great, the bus was very comfortable, and Cindy, the guide was amazing. She provided crystal clear and comprehensive descriptions of each site visited. Her depth of knowledge about the campaign was impressive. The itinerary hit all of the key ANZAC points of interest, and provided a wonderfully balanced overview of the campaign from both points of view.
We had Charlie as our guide and he was fantastic! I would fully recommend him. Very informative, great sense of humor and really made a long long day very enjoyable. His knowledge of Gallipoli and history was fantastic. Cheers Jenny and David
Big day, everything went very smooth. Picked up from hotel in Istanbul, long drive, comfortable excellent driver in crazy traffic. Special mention to our guide Charlie, informative and entertaining. He is very knowledgeable and answered all questions.
Excellent and memorable experience in this special interest tour, The guide was excellent and very knowledgeable and cognizant of the interest level of the group.Randall
The tour guide was absolutely amazing and very informative about all things to do with Gallipoli and what the facts were about the war. He had a fantastic sense of humour and was very warm and connecting with everyone on the tour
Loved this tour. Big thanks to Cindy who totally made the day with her gorgeous personality!!! Lunch was delicious and the tour was very informative and went at a nice pace.
Highly recommend. The guide Ibrihim is very knowledgeable and provided a thoughtful, balanced account of the Gallipoli history. We had a great day.
Very informational and entertaining. Very friendly tour guide. Overall great experience!
This was an excellent tour - very well-organised and educational. We learned lots of stuff we didn’t already know about the Gallipoli campaign (even as Australians), thanks to the enthusiasm and encyclopaedic knowledge of our guide, Burak.
We did the day trip tour from Canakkale Great tour with very insightful guide. Çağrı (Charlie) was extremely knowledgeable and great at telling information and stories. Provided some lovely insight into both sides of the story too, the Allied/ANZAC forces and the Turkish. Would recommend going with Crowded House Tours and would highly recommend going with Çağrı if you get the chance :)
Great tour with Burak, the perfect guide - he knows everything there is to know about the Gallipoli campaign (and a fair bit about Australia, NZ, and the UK too!) He is also very good at keeping the group engaged with his upbeat personality and humour. Highly recommended.
Would definitely recommend nice lunch and so informative our guide Burak was absolutely fantastic his knowledge was great
Our guide Charlie, was tremendous and passionate about his work. He was able to bring together the history with context and meaning.
I have been to Gallipoli 4 times but this was the first from the Aussie perspective and it was informative and very different to the Turkish and private tours I have previously attended. Burak was professional informative educated factual and had a great sense of humour. It’s half a day we started with the ferry ride from Canakkale to Eceabat where we went to lunch TERRIBLE location and food. It didn’t phase me as I have all my köfte and chicken to the dogs and cats waiting outside. The food was ordinary the location was dark and didn’t look clean and the staff looked miserable. I strongly suggest a nicer cleaner and happier location. The fruit a mandarin looked like a lime was sour maybe a banana instead would be nice. Then we boarded a minibus catering for 14 passengers and our driver Metin Abi was professional and very careful. I sat at the front and observed his driving he was exceptionally good. Great driving Thankyou. I know there is a lot more to see the Aussies would love to see the villages within Gallipoli maybe something to consider. But Thankyou we had a great time
After a 4hr drive from Istanbul, we arrived in Canakkale to a delicious lunch then off on our tour of Gallipoli. Burek was our guide and what a wealth of knowledge and information he is! His energy is intoxicating; you want to know everything he has in his archives about the war and the place itself. Well organised tour and brilliant guide. Thanks for a brilliant day
A great day our guide Charlie was fantastic with great insights into the full campaign and a great sense of humour my only feeling was it could have been a full day
Fantastic trip of gallipoli, taking in all the Anzac sites. Our guide was very knowledgeable and humorous. A great experience.
Small group (12 people), well organised and very informative, plenty of time to spend at all of the important sites.
Terrific day . We took 4 hour transfer from Istanbul . The coach was comfortable . Stops for refreshments were timely . We had the most fabulous guide , Burak whose knowledge was second to none . I’m so much better informed about the Gallipoli campaign now. His humour and enthusiasm held our interest for the full duration of the tour .
Sensational day spent touring the historic sites of the Anzac campaign in Türkiye. The information and historical data provided by Ibrahim (Ibo) our guide was invaluable. I o had a great sense of humour and the ability to relate the history of this important point in history for both the Türkiye and Australia. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Türkiye.
The pick up went very smoothly. The guide spoke clear and distinct English and was very knowledgeable and provided a balanced view. They broke us up into smaller groups of about 15 which was good. Lunch was typically Turkish and good. I would recommend this tour to get an informative understanding of the Gallipoli battles (you would miss a lot if you tried to do this on your own). I did think it was a bit expensive
Burak is great! Very knowledgeable, passionate and engaging! He’s full of energy and shows you a great time !We enjoyed his tour very much! Matthew and Demet
We had a fantastic experience visiting Gallipoli. The team at Crowded House tours do a great job - excellent communication, friendly staff and very much focused on ensuring guests have a good example. Ibrahim's incredible knowledge was quite astounding and delivered in a very engaging way. Along with his knowledge, he told us all aspects of the Gallipoli campaign with great compassion for all whose lives were lost or impacted for life. Thank you to the whole team for a great experience and to Ibrahim in particular, it was a special day. The small group (12) was perfect as well.
When for a tour with the bro Burak. He was very well informed, funny and friendly. Lunch was enjoyable, no complaints. Enjoyed an ice cream and slushy at one of the stop. Would highly recommend!!
Excellent day overall, an unscheduled stop was made at a particular cemetery so we could honor a relative buried there, it was much appreciated and our guide was very accommodating and kind.
My husband & I did the tour of Gallipoli the other day. Our guide (whose name was something like Burak) was absolutely fantastic. He joked a lot and related very well to all the Aussies in the group. He was very informative and passionate and a wealth of knowledge about the battles at Gallipoli. One lady on our tour had a great grandfather who was killed in action at Gallipoli. He immediately researched using his mobile to find out where he was buried. The driver took the mini bus up to the Shell Green cemetery where he was buried. We found his tombstone. The transfer from Istanbul to the office near Gallipoli took about 6 hours. We had an included lunch prior to being driven to the various Gallipoli cemeteries, memorials and the trenches. The tour was very worthwhile and a poignant reminder futility of the battles that occurred here.
An amazing and incredible tour, particularly for Australian, Kiwi and Turks. Our guide, Baruk was fantastic, humorous, respectful and incredibly informative. He has an obvious passion for this history.
Amazing value for money on a priceless experience. Hassim our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and caring. He was deeply respectful of our countries, the fallen, the history and all the sacred places he took us. We all learnt a lot from him and I think this should be on every kiwi and Aussies bucket list!
Great tour, guide was very friendly and informative and the tour vans were very cool inthe summer heat. Lunch was good also
This was a fantastic tour to be a part of. Tour groups are kept small so the experience can be appreciated to its fullest. Mercedes van is air conditioned & seating very comfortable for a pleasant journey. There are many stops, & a lot to take in making for a very eventful afternoon that will keep you mesmerised & questioning just how our war hero’s coped with the terrain & all the challenges they were met with. Our tour guide whose name unfortunately escapes me (pics attached) was extremely informative, dismissing myth for fact, & carried a fantastic sense of humour to accommodate all nationalities on board. Lunch included was absolutely delicious 😋 A highly recommended tour!!
Found Crowded house Gallipoli tour on TripAdvisor Communication from time of booking was excellent Tour was so good .. tour guide (charlie) was the best ... so knowledgeable and respectful about the ANZAC and Turkish Gallipoli history .. and even though you could spend days there we covered most of the major sites and locations of interest relating to the ANZAC's in a short time Highly recommend this tour company 100%!!
Very infirmatative tour which enabled us to learn more about Gallipoli. Burak was really balanced between being educational and funny keeping everyone engaged! We stayed in Canakale so had a lovely ferry ride over. Highly recommend!
Ibo was very knowledgeable and great tour guide! recommend this tour! Great day, even organised pick up and return. Lunch was included.
Really impressed at how well organised it was considering how many people there were. Our guide Hasan was incredibly knowledgeable and I feel I learnt so much more about the ANZACs and Gallipoli. Highly recommend booking your tour through this company!
Great commitment from tour guide to pass on his knowledge to us of the Gallipoli offensive and defensive battles. With good humour and time management.
We had a really great 1/2 day tour from Canakkale. Our guide Hassan was amazing, great English, incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the ANZAC campaign and good light hearted banter. Comfortable van with air con. 10/10 would recommend.
